A modification of my #1175874737398886531 to be able to do the special Halo 2-inspired trim patterns used in Red vs. Blue Season 10 during the Project Freelancer Flashback Sequences. Be default uses the Legacy Halo 3 models since that's what they had in RvB Season 10, but you can use the newer models too.

Click on one of the trim pieces (wrist, or thighs) to change the color there and it'll change it for the rest and also the helmet notch too.

There's also additional materials called .full so that is used by default for the EOD helmet, the Recon chest buckles, and the Recon shoulders. This is because in Red vs. Blue Season 10, the non-colored parts of those pieces were colored anyway, so having an additional material means you can use the Frensel color to color the whole thing without messing up the rest of the armor. Because of this, the buckles on the Recon chest armor are a seperate object from the rest. Additionally, for the Recon shoulders, the spikes are different parts because in Season 9, Agent Carolina did not have shoulder spikes on her Recon shoulders for some reason.

Note: This pack CANNOT easily do Agent Florida since he used very custom armor (I did manage to make something that mimics Agent Florida. It isn't perfect but you can understand what it's supposed to be. I might post that soon). It CAN do the Season 9 Freelancers but not quite as accurate as it is to the Season 10 ones, but it should be seriously close enough for anyone's purposes. It CAN do the Season 14 Freelancers since it can also act as a standard Halo 3 rig. It CANNOT do the Season 15 Freelancers since they used Halo 5 Guardians, but you can make them in the normal Halo 5 Asset Pack.

Also note I did the cuts by hand just eyeballing it while looking at reference frames from the real show and not with any symmetrical setting thing for both sides, and had to make the trim for the wrists and arms separate pieces that were scaled up slightly, so there will be little inaccuracies. Good enough for most purposes though.

Had to remake it 3 times before I got the proper halo 2 accents they used

lunar harness
#

I eventually had to just make it seperate objects

agile veldt
#

I take it you did something similar to this?

#

thats all I ended up doing

lunar harness
#

oh

#

oh no

#

that would've been easier

#

i just didn't know how

#

I used edit mode, the Knife tool, to cut off parts of the mesh, then duplicated the Armor Material and called it Trim so that was it would be a seperate thing from the normal armor color

#

so you use both the Trim Primary Color & Secondary Color to set the trim color

agile veldt
#

thats... so much more complicated, but propably more effective since my color map clearly has rough edges

lunar harness
#

and both the Armor Primary Color and Secondary Color to set the base color

lunar harness
#

it was such a pain though

#

This was my like 5th attempt

#

well 5th full attempt, I did many other partial attempts

agile veldt
#

makes sense

lunar harness
#

and each time I had to do it like 4 times because left wrist, right wrist, left thigh, right thing. Actually for this final version it was 8 times because I also did it for the Legacy models

#

the only easy part was the MkVI helmet notch because I didn' thave to do any knife cuts for that

#

but yeah yours was probably way more efficient and way more intuitive

agile veldt
#

I found that my cuts (while slightly more accurate to h2) have these weird white lines around them while yours are the actual color

lunar harness
#

and it looks like yours is completely accurate to Halo 2?

agile veldt
#

Yeah, I got the ankle and helmet accents after replaying h2 multiplayer and looking at them

lunar harness
#

I was going off the Season 10 Freelancers meaning the trim is extended slightly beyond the Halo 2 bounderies, the helmet didn't have the stripe on the back just the notch in the front, and no ankle trim

agile veldt
#

I dunno if its easier to see the ankles with either one, but I got as close as I could

#

you can see them better on south dakota

#

god I need to make actual reference screenshots

The Insurrectionists did use Halo 3: ODST models though

#

Im actually working on them too

#

Harder since there’s no ODST pack, so I’m having to fixup a raw file

It CANNOT do the Season 15 Freelancers since they used Halo 5 Guardians
If I can get some reference pics, I can make some modified textures...

#

...make it work with the H5 stuff, y'know?

@lunar harness I should kiss you for this, but I won't

#

But thank you for this

lunar harness
#

The only episodes they're seen in as far as I'm aware is Season 15 Episode 10: Battlescars, and Season 15 Episode 17: Quicksave

#

But they don't have special modifications so you can just use the normal Halo 5 Spartan Asset Pack to make it

#

its just very painful to see what armor they have (I did get very close I think. If you want I can send the armor permutations and colors that I'm sure of)
