what is the "value"'s type

#

string?

#

what do you need [] then for lol

#

do you get an error if you try doing that trough the dev console in-game

#

remove []

#

also what do you mean by it requires []?

#

thats not how strings work

#

pretty sure

#

cant really help now as i dont have studio access

#

want what

#

no i meant like to startup studio

#

im on phone

#

gonna look on the devforum

brisk nacelle
#

thats invalid syntax

#

that makes no sense

unique hull
#

yeah thats what i was thinking

unique hull
#

no thats just not how you do that

brisk nacelle
#

yeah write valid luau

#

or lua

#

since idk if it supports luau

brisk nacelle
#

Remove the []

still niche
#

using [ ] means youre setting the value as a table like thing which isnt a string

#

it needs a string

twilit seal
#

what are you trying to do 😂

twilit seal
#

an example of [] would be game:GetService("Workspace")["Example Folder"]

#

you cannot assign [] as a variable

#

@woeful junco

#

You dont need Get service but you can if you want, it would be: game:GetService("ServerStorage").PlayerData.LOUDRAFAOTV.Skills.Value

#

or game.ServerStorage.PlayerData.LOUDRAFAOTV.Skills.Value

#

show me

unique hull
#

change my mind

#

(outside of adonis that is.)

twilit seal
#

getservice is irrelevant in this context lol

#

what are you executing

#

send the script

#

okay

#

No i'm on about the script you executed which caused the error

#

I'm assuming it was with :s

#

What did you execute

#

because the string value cannot be assigned with []

#

wait

unique hull
#

🤦‍♂️

twilit seal
#

I'll test it myself in roblox studio

#

if it's telling you you cant do that, I'm fairly certain that you can't do that

#

That value can only be one value, so just remove the []

#

show me

#

so what did you mean it didn't work at all 😂

#

you prbably did it wrong

unique hull
#

a wrong mind wont admit its wrong.
