#7TV is causing twitch to time-out in chrome each time I reload the page or open it.

I recently installed 7tv extension into my chrome profile on another browser, since then anytime I have the extension enabled the chat (not sure why it didn't carry over with my other extensions, in the first place, perhaps it was but the paints weren't loading, which got fixed by chrome://restart)

  • I tried reinstalling the chrome extension to reset any possible settings
  • I also went into the dev console and cleared the twitch cookies as well as the 7tv extension database.
    (I attached a video of the bug in action. ty for your time.)

Update

  • tested in opera and doesn't seem to be any issue. Seems to be an issue with chrome or the chrome profile

Ive had them both for years tho. New update from either causing it?

sooo do I just need to disable dark reader for now or is it a certain feaure in either of the apps

i'll try that out. seems to be only affecting chrome. I have both installed in opera cause I needed to have it enabled for the pickems tourney

you can disable dark reader on just twitch

open dark readers extension menu on twitch and at the top there should be a button to disable it on just twitch

that seemed to have helped. Really curious what the issue is all the sudden

no big deal as twitch has it's own dark mode
