#alternative domain

There's work around in #russia-block-info and #russia-block-help
It's too inconvenient, and I'm talking about buying a domain at least for a while before Roskomnadzor removes restrictions
before they remove restrictions
I think just hiding emoticon 1 on the site will not be a problem
hide it, not delete it
it's not because of one emote
approximately how much?
we don't know, we are not in contact with RKN
and even if it was because of one emote, 7tv will not comply with the censorship policies of RKN
I repeat, HIDE and not remove
it will also be available, but it just won’t be found on your website
ok, another proposal, don’t hide anything but buy a new domain especially for us
that will not happen either, if their decision was to block the platform due to their homophobic policies, that is not going to be something 7tv will be adjusting in any way, the platform was built to allow user freedom in expressing themselves, RKN is actively trying to achieve the opposite.
While this can be done for free, I can tell administrators how to purchase a domain for free
we delete emotes when they are breaking Twitch ToS, show excessive nudity, racism, homophobia etc., we never have and will not delete emotes due to any government deciding to restrict freedom on the internet
appreciate the idea but there is no reason to believe that even if alternative domain was purchased RKN would not take action on it the same way they did on the current one
this is not a 7tv issue, this is RKN's censorship issue
I want to point out that this is a different case. The LGBT movement is generally prohibited in our country, and most Russians also do not support this movement.
this is completely different
you can not support the movement but that doesn't mean we will start deleting emotes related to it from the platform
how to simply hide from Russian ip. This practice was introduced by discord and steam and other media sites.
RKN does not force you to completely delete it, just hide it.
We just want the RKN to start removing restrictions. at least after blocking discord, we began a protest by mass sending letters to the Ministry of Digital Technologies and the RKN
I hope this is just a discussion (and I won't be banned))
it is a discussion, i have no reason to ban you lol
well maybe not so much of a discussion because there isn't much to be discussed, even if we took action of a setting up a new domain it would potentially be a waste of time if another domain was blocked too
and devs are currently busy with working on the new website backend
I just think that there really is something that can be hidden, and what to hide is stupidity.
The LGBT movement and others have been declared illegal, and literally almost everyone in Russia supports this. We don’t have racism, but this is a separate case in which simply removing emoticons in Russia can be quite easy.
That’s why, for example, Twitch is still available to us, because they ban us by URL
that's the thing, we will not be hiding anything due to this repressive decision made by russian government
there are many countries where that is the case but that's not going to be something we support or comply with, even if there are a lot of users from such country
maybe the devs will look into an alternative domains eventually but there are other things they are currently working on
