non-official 7tv bot stuff

Sorry. Run the !addemote command with the link.
Or /addemote if you have synced the commands
/tts cum
I didnt do the sync thing
but yeah I went to my channel and did that and nothing happened
Only need to do the sync if you care about slash commands
yeah ! works fine for me
Do you message intents set on the bot? As in. Can it read the messages?
On the read me it says exactly what permissions it needs
Oh shit, ok so I thought I did, I went back to look, i clicked the read message history, but I dont think I clicked the normal read messages ones.... right I thought I did
must be where I messed up
Yeah it would need both. You can set the permissions in the role it creates. It's kinda up to you
could I just kick the bot connection from my discord and generate a new URL with that added permission ? That way any friends who want to add the bot have the right thing set up from the start
In future I might add something to auto generate the command. But yeah. Depends how you distribute the link. I have it set so people can invite from the bot
ah gotcha ok.
Yeah my plan is, get it set up good to go and I have a friend who has a home server, so im gonna see if he wants to try running it full time on there that way its always up.
And then we just give the URL to anyone we know who wants to add 7TV emotes to their discord
Like so. Adds a button to the bot for people to add. (with the perms set)
oh ok cool ill add that
Fantastic. that makes it nice and easy
You guys are legends thanks so much for the help
Did the permission change allow it to work?
I would recommend to do a !sync once you get the message permissions working. You only need to do it once and it will auto add the commands to new servers
Nope still nothing happening
No response and nothing in Command prompt
One sec. I'm going to turn my pc on
Does it have message intents from the "bot" tab
yeah message content intent is checked on
Depends which one you read but yea that's fine
On the channel list. Does the bot show on the right?
idk if this is relevant, but my discord says its integrated with the bot, the bot isnt listed as a user in the discord
Oh lmao
If no. It can't see the channel
oh ffs
IM sorry im not usually this stupid, the channel I made for it accidentally got the wrong permissions from the category
yep i see it on the side now aha
Haha. Ok try run !sync and then y and if that works it can see the stuff
ok the emote add worked!
Yay!
why do I have a crown
We gucci
Sorry for being a complete numbskull and overlooking the simplest of things haha
THanks guys
Woo. So now both /addemote and !addemote will work just fine. Personal presence which to use. I like slash commands
sick!
Cos special
deleting screenshots of modded discord so no report material
i see you

@arctic granite can you close this thread or will mod have to do it?
G'day,
I'm a friend of Nicks, he asked me to help him out with hosting the bot.
I went a little overkill...
I made a docker image to host the bot.
Tomorrow I'll
- Write up a couple of bits of documentation for what I've done.
- Build a fresh docker image from your Git repo.
- Publish the image to docker (image name will be the same as Git repo).
- Submit the documentation to the Git repo (
Dockerfile, exampleDocker-compose.yml, Docker CLI, and a short rundown on how to use volumes to add your customconfig.jsonfile)
I mostly did this because I couldn't be arsed hosting the bot from terminal on Ubuntu when all my other services are running via docker. Always starts on boot. Always restarts if it crashes. Fire and forget.
This'll also make it easy for anyone to spin up a droplet or something and have it running in like 2 commands.
My name on GitHub is Bradyns.
@dreamy latch @arctic granite
Sounds fine to me. Will you be handling any updates I make or do you have to push those manually?
Oh also, I should mention. I THINK (not 100%) that 7TV themselves are planning on making a bot as long as they get the dev. So it might be easier in future. But of course we shall see in time
Sweet.
I can handle 'em. They'll be done manually, but I'm going to setup the dockerfile so it clones the repo during the build to make that as painless as possible. If there's any drastic changes I'll adjust accordingly. I'm unsure how the perms work with published docker images, But I can add both as well if I'm a little slow.
Neat. Exciting things await!
Nice. Love it 😊
