I was going to mention how people don't even bother looking for duplicate emotes let alone tagging properly. However, it goes back to what I said earlier about improper naming emotes.

Like for example I uploaded emotes of a cat with it's different faces. I prefixed the emotes with the cat's actual name https://7tv.app/emotes/615d97d23f9ac1fd2508a550, but I guarantee you there's a dupe emote out there with a different name like "D:" or "wtf". The alias feature is there for a reason. I'll name my emotes semi-appropriately, it's up to the user to interpret for what they want and alias it if so.

That being said, if 7TV would have implemented the similarity it would've been good. I could have sworn it was mentioned, but I guess constantly backlogged (<#1093210390646767716 message> add it to the list of backlogged or rejected shit TE_LULE )

But I digress, 7TV blew up and had to focus on infrastructure, uptime, drama, and other cool new features like sets and v3 api. No time to work on stuff like image similarity to help cleanup emotes, or hell, image captioning as an endgame. From what little I know, vector databases are the new hype now so I reckon it'll help with implementation and performance of image similarity.

tbh not like it'll help. AFAIK you can only search for one tag/name. With a tag like "HD" you'd think to put it after your main query e.g. "FeelsGoodMan HD"
