There could very well be hardware backdoors in Google Pixels but imo from a company perspective; a huge tech company has cybersecurity as a super high priority as it only takes one stolen phone before a work account is compromised then a huge data breach or leakage of internal information happens. So the risk of making a backdoor for the 0.01% of pixel users willing to move away from stock android is not worth it.
In theory of course they could make a backdoor that only they can access but it's development work for little reward when everyone stays on stock anyway.
