Fashion goose
Team: geese
Has the ability (with cooldown of course) to switch outfits with other players, color of bird and name will not swap. How this could actually be useful? Well what if someone was outed as canadian. The fashion goose could swap clothes with them and if the silly ducks dont pay attention they might kill him thinking he isnt canadian cause his clothes are different.

Temporal Duckperative (Operative)
Team: Ducks
Ability: this duck cannot vent but the Temporal Duck can use Temporal Relocation to warp a dead body, or himself anywhere on the map, the warp of Temporal Relocation has to be set up beforehand, and can be changed once per round.
The Temporal Duckperative can, during a meeting, only once per game, revert any votes on himself, causing effectively, a possible skip.
Additional Note:Herbert I'm also a duck don't shoot me down mercilessly!
(unrelated to the role, but you might want to try going to explore mode and going in and out of a closet)
Currently at work but i will definatly check that out
Thanos Duck
Team: Duck
Ability: You have unlimited fake tasks, and each one you complete has a chance to give you an infinity stone. If you collect all 6, you snap your fingers and kill half of the current lobby.
Titan Duck to avoid licensing issues lol
It's only disney. How bad could it be?
British Duck
Team: Ducks
Ability: the British Duck cannot directly kill, however, he can call Tea Time, when Tea Time begins, the other birds have five seconds to press "E" to "interact" and "drink tea", anyone that doesn't heed the call for Tea Time is executed, effectively dying.
Tea Time only lasts 7 seconds, so you can wait 4 and only have to stop moving 3.
Tea Time can only be called twice per round.
Note: this role suggestion is only a meme, although it would definitely be funny to have it added.
Additional Meme Note: the "secret" meme win triggers by killing all neutral roles, your duck allies and at least three geese, meme win screen reads "Britannic Win".
Betrayed goose
Team: NEUTRAL!!!
This goose got wrongfully voted out....BUT HE LIVED?! (Backstory not ability) this goose has sabotages just like all the ducks but if he wants to use em he gotta activate them himself. He wins if one of HIS sabotages goes unchecked. Every time one of his sabotages gets fixed the next time he does a sabotage it has even less time until doom (up to a certain point)
Celebrity goose
Team: geese
If a celebrity dies in any way it will alert everyone of their death, similar to how dine and dash notifies you when someone dies. If they get voted out it does it after the meeting. Did not know that vvvvv
@red basin There has been an "American Goose" idea tossed about that does exactly that
Cool goose
Team: geese
Only happens if a normal goose is in game. Random chance of being a cool goose instead of a regular goose. The only difference? This one is cool. The possibilities this opens up are endless (while this is kinda a joke i actually like this idea and would want to see it)
Mastermind Goose
Team: Goose
Short Description: Predict sabotages to counter them and force the ducks to reactivate that sabotage.
You have the ability to counter-sabotage. You have your own sabotage maps and can have up to one sabotage selected at a time. If the sabotage you have selected is called, the sabotage fails and that sabotage is deactivated. The ducks must re-complete the sabotage task to activate it again. If a sabotage other than the one you have selected is called, you lose your ability for the rest of the round.
I will now check this role against Herbertâs role design document:
Does this role introduce novel gameplay?:
Yes! The Mastermind Goose forces a player to try and think like the ducks to predict their sabotages.
How would the role effect the meta?:
This role would force ducks to think more carefully about their sabotages rather than just calling the same sabotage every time.
How does the role effect the balance of the game?:
The mastermind can be a great asset to the goose team in the right hands, but is difficult to use and will not catch ducks, instead just making it harder for them to kill.
Is there counterplay to the role?:
Yes! The Mastermind offers interesting decisions to the ducks. Do they call the most obvious sabotage or try calling a different one to remove the Mastermindâs power for the rest of the round? But maybe the Mastermind also thinks this so selects the less obvious sabotage himself. This role is meant to create mind games between the Mastermind and the ducks that brings an all new dynamic to the game.
How does it effect existing roles?:
It makes the technician slightly stronger since sabotage are still considered to be called when countered.
How complicated is this role?:
This role is relatively simple but hard to master. It can be explained in two short sentences.
Does this role fundamentally change how the game is played?:
No.
Thanks for having a look at my role! Feedback is greatly appreciated.
Revenge Goose (or duck?)
Can mark a player during the round. If Revenge dies, the marked player dies at the end of the next meeting.
i love it
Stubborn Duck
Refuses to die when voted out, only dying at the start of the next meeting.
Stalk
Neutral
Short Description: Stalk and eat your prey x times
At the start of the game, a random goose becomes your prey.
If are in a close proximity to your prey for more than 40 seconds in a round, you gain the ability to eat them. This timer will reset once a meeting is called. When you eat a player, they are killed and no body is left behind. If you target dies , another random goose becomes your target. Eat a number of players depending on the player count to win the game.
Does this role introduce novel gameplay?
Yes! The stalk must follow their prey without them getting suspicious. A variety of different tactics can be used to achieve this
How would this role affect the meta?
This role would discourage grouping since this would be a great chance for the stalk to stay near their prey for the entire duration of their timer. It also discourages going round in smaller groups such as pairs or threes
How does this role affect the balance of the game?
The Stalk is quite strong but can be caught if theyâre not careful
Is there counter-play to this role?
While at first it may seem there is little counter-play to the stalk, since it removes bodies entirely, there is a lot players can do to catch a stalk. Looking for players following you during the game is one method if youâre the prey, and if a player dies and you remember them being with someone else a lot of the round, you could also catch the stalk. The sheriff and vigilante can also straight up kill the stalk while being followed if they catch on to them.
How does this effect existing roles?
Vigilante and sheriff are quite strong against the stalk, making them slightly better.
How complicated is this role?
It is relatively simple.
Does this role fundamentally change how the game is played?
I would argue no. Catching it is very different to other roles since no bodies are left behind, but roles such as the pigeon and dodo already do this.
Thanks for looking at my role. Feedback is greatly appreciated!
Please know we are reading these, thoroughly enjoy the fact that people are starting to use the guides a bit more on creating.
Although we may not offer feedback on every role, we are reading them.
Tally Goose
The Tally Goose has a tally button, which has a 5 second cooldown. During the next meeting, they will be able to see which birds were near them when they used the tally button, and how many times.
So basically, if the red goose is near you when you tally, during the next meeting, the red bird will have a 1 next to their name. If you tally the red bird twice, a 2 will appear instead. This allows you to keep track of who was near you or in a group of birds around you. The tally count resets after each meeting.
so basically to hunt a morphling duck? damn that will make an ez way to expose them
Photographer Goose
Team: Goose
Short Description: You can take three photos each round. Once per game, you may reveal a photo to all players.
Ability: Up to three times each round you can use your ability to take a photo of what is currently on your screen. You are not visible in photos and the photos will only show what was in your vision at the time. This ability has a short cooldown of 10 seconds but cannot be used again until a meeting is called after three photos are taken. During meetings you can view the photos you took during the last round as well as the timestamp which shows how far into the round they were taken. Once per game, you can present a photo to all players during a meeting.
Does this role introduce novel gameplay?
Yes! The photographer goose has an ability unlike any other. They can view moments from the past round during a meeting which can help them catch the killer
How would this role affect the meta?
I donât believe this role would have a huge effect on the meta. It allows the photographer goose to make clever deductions from their information, but this does not change the game in a significant way
How does this role affect the balance of the game?
The photographer goose has quite a powerful ability, but the most important part of it can only be used once per game. Taking the photos and viewing them privately is useful and can help you make your decision on who the suspect is, but it doesnât provide you with new information
Is there counterplay to this role?
The ability to reveal a photo can seem like it offers no counterplay, but I believe it would in fact be quite fun to try and explain your way out of an incriminating photo. Players can also of course claim it was a morphling in the photo.
How does this affect existing roles?
The dodo can benefit from this role if they are shown during an incriminating act in a photo
How complicate is this role?
The role is easy to learn and understand, but hard to master.
Feedback is appreciated!

Updated with a page or two
Locator Goose
Once per game, can use their ability to automatically pull up their map and see what rooms everyone is in, so long as they aren't in a vent, closet, hallway, or outside. These marks remain until the next meeting, and don't move even if the others move.
Eavesdropping Goose
Team: Goose
Short Description: An activated ability with a timer (can activated 2-3 times a game) that allows the goose to hear a random conversation going on at the time of activation between a group of people who are alive for a short period of time (5 seconds or so).
Does this role introduce novel gameplay?
Yes! Even though this ability is dependent on whether or not a current conversation is going on it could come in handy during a clutch conversation if you were hearing someone chasing someone in particular or just mutter a short phrase that could be considered suspicious.
How would this role affect the meta?
I donât believe this role would have a huge effect on the meta since it is very dependent on timing and wouldn't 100% guarantee someone getting outed but in the right situation could really help lean the scale for evidence.
Is there counterplay to this role?
One of the most obvious counter-play moments to this role would be a Silencer Duck. If the role was found out the Silencer Duck could mute the person who would have the information. Also if someone was joking in conversation about getting someone or killing them. (EX: Ooooh, I'm gonna get you!) It could bring suspicion to someone who might not necessarily have a *bad *role.
How does this affect existing roles?
This could add huge utility to the Silencer Duck because of being able to mute someone who could have very helpful information against the ducks.
How complicate is this role?
The role is easy to learn and understand, but is also based on luck and timing.
^ This could be interesting if they can BUG a room
Will analyze for possible problems, hearing players that can't tell if you're listening is a dangerous mechanic to implement.
But it could be interesting if it was restricted.
I think owl should be a role that revolves around the stereotype that owls are wise so maybe the owl gets information on the killer when he or she reports a body such as which direction the killer ran or whether the killer was a light or dark color or whatever.
Why would a neutral role want this though, those dont really have anything to fight ducks and probably shouldnt (if you wanna respond just ping me in role discussion)
ARTEMIS
Team: Dodo Duck
Ability: You act so sus (similar to dodo) that you try to get voted out. The difference? The game continues and you don't win. #WhenInDoubtVoteArtyOut

Any player in the lobby named Elf gets an extra kill button that only works in proximity to ARTEMIS

Ostrich: Geese team but is not a geese. They can run faster than anyone else. This can only be used on Classic +. If they are the last good guy there they win. If the Geese vote him out he can run fast also but every person who voted him out can hear his footsteps and see smoke when he dashes. Dashes last 5 seconds and speed reduces to normal goose speed for the next 10 seconds after the dash. Maybe add a smoke effect when they dash.
Photographer Goose (version 2)
Each round you can take up to three photos. You can looks at your photos during meetings. These photos include a time stamp of when they were taken (including which round it was) and will only show the area that was in your vision. When you die, your photo album (all the photos you took this game) become accessible to all other players to look through.
Does this role introduce novel gameplay?
Yes! The photographer goose allows you to remember key information from the last round and gives an interesting set of clues, through their pictures, to the other players after they die.
How would this role affect the meta?
Ducks would try to make it less obvious when they are about to kill so the photographer goose doesnât snap a picture of them
How does this role affect the balance of the game?
The photographer goose is not particularly strong. It can remember important information through itâs photos and give subtle clues when it when it dies, but it usually doesnât provide information that can lead directly to the killer. Itâs designed to be quite weak but fun to use and for others to play with.
Is there counterplay to this role?
There is a lot of counterplay when the role dies. If you were in the photographer gooses most recent photo, you can claim you didnât kill them and that they waited in that spot and got killed by another player, or you could claim vigilante or sheriff, or any other number of options.
How complicated is this role?
Easy to use but relies on the playerâs skill to be effective.
Does this role fundamentally change how the game is played?
No.
Thanks for looking at my role, feedback is appreciated!
Cuckoo bird - basically switches two people during meetings
Seagull - drop a secret "bomb" on a goose that doesn't detonate for a period of time. Basically just a delayed kill.
Owl- can see when the light are off
The bird
Description: you are unsure if you are a duck or a goose
(ONLY AVAILABLE IF FAKE TASK ARE ON)
The bird's goal is to finish all of their tasks and join a faction and turn into a basic duck, or a basic goose.
In order to turn into a faction after all tasks are done, 2 buttons appears where the kill option would be, one is an angel button(goose), and the other is a devel button(duck)
When a bird makes a choice, a noise will play, that just about everyone would hear, and/or an icon will pop up for a bit in the meeting screen, telling everyone that a bird was in the game and chose a roll.
My thoughts: I feel like this roll would be mostly used in the situation of if one side has an overwhelming majority, like the ducks about to win, the bird could be the deciding factor, join the ducks, and ez win, or join the geese and get enough votes to make it an amazing victory.
If you have any changes you would make, tell me
I am 100% sure that bird choose duck the most
Its human instinct to choose the funner faction over a boring one
But is it bird instinct to do that as well?
But the only time the bird will pick a goose is when there are 2 known ducks out
Swapper Duck
Description: Once per game, you can swap positions with another player to get them voted out instead.
I had this in mind for a long time, hope this role makes it I someday cause it would be fun to use!
Have you guys considered this role from Town of Us?
We have! We will carefully examine most role ideas to consider their subsequent effect on the overall balance of classic mode. Please check out #850063497877913630 to see some ideas that we are tinkering with.
Altruist (Resurrect) Goose - Once per game you can bring back a dead body in cost of your body (I donât remember how to spell the word haha)
Have you guys considered a doctor/necromancer/altruist role where a goose can resurrect a corpse?
We have strongly considered the different angles to approach a role like this but ultimately decided against it. In this game of social deduction, dead players end up potentially having perfect information, and letting them back into the game is problematic as they can at least identify their killer. Even in scenarios where they might be silenced or otherwise hampered, the resurrected player will still have the ability to circle or fart over their killer. Trading 1 Goose life for 1 Duck life will tend to break the game, as the Geese outnumber the Ducks. We have since removed the ability for the living and the dead to communicate to allow for the feature of role reveal, and don't plan on moving in that direction again anytime soon.
Raven. Only available on maps with security systems. Wins by blocking all of the security cameras in a single round, then anyone checking the cams and triggering a countdown to their victory. Blocking a cam is a task, and other birds can unblock a cam by doing the same task, but only the cameras themselves will show if the cam is currently obscured.
Alright, this is probably a semi flawed idea, but a psychic goose, I know this has been suggested but not the same ability.
Short Desc: Can check a goose once per round to see what their last action was. When the psychic goose does this, it plays a "mystic" sound across the entire map.
Does this role have counterplay? Yes, the noise not only reveals that there is a psychic goose, but makes the ducks more aware of what to do and when to avoid the goose in further rounds. The psychic goose should also try to not use its ability in plain sight to not give themselves away to a duck.
To clarify what the "last action" part means, it can show that they vented, did a task (will show up if a duck does a fake task), has killed or has fixed a sabotage, a duck sabotaging will NOT show up.
I dont think the role should remove fun from other players as the fun aspect of fighting it is wondering "did the psychic just pass me and check me or was that a random duck and the psychic did it across the map"
Im sure this is somewhat flawed in some way (and also somewhat unoriginal as its technically just detective) but I dont know myself so ill need feedback
Crow - neutral
When in the game walking around they can pick a target and they join the team of that target but at meeting can only vote the person they joined
(May could get their ability if Goose or Neutra idk about that tho)
Void Goose: when the lights go out, everyone including Ducks, can only see them if they are in the small visual circle. They can also 'sabotage' environmental duck tasks to 'reset them' so the ducks have to unlock it again. it would create the need for ducks to unlock the sabos again, and also give a reason for geese to be there
Vampire Duck: when they lose their other duck partner or are alone, they can bite a goose and convert them to a duck (or another idea- they can bite a duck corpse the round they die and revive them) once per game
Have you guys considered a role where a player will change teams?
We have strongly considered the different angles to approach a role like this but ultimately decided against it. Whether the ability to switch teams is random or chosen, this concept potentially throws a wrench in the in-game motivation and objectives of players. For example, if you were a goose that had a chance of becoming a duck later on in the game, you are no longer incentivized to do geese tasks anymore. And if this mindset is applied to a significant number of geese, then barely any geese will ever do their tasks and the ducks will win a disproportionate amount of the time.
Trapper Goose: can put down 3 invisible 'traps' a game that no one can see. Could buff a goose to do a timed task faster for that round only, or move faster for a few seconds etc. Could debuff a duck, like make them move slower for a few seconds, or make them go blind as if the lights are out, or even muddy their screen for a short time
sadge, is there a list of these 'already suggested but cannot do' roles somewhere? @void halo
Have you guys considered a type of trapper duck?
We have! It's been suggested several times. The idea could work, but as it currently stands, the role would be difficult to pull off in our existing maps. Having not been made with this in mind , the hallways and spaces in the existing three maps are a bit tight, allowing for these traps to zone out entire areas. Consider the bridge leading to comms in SS Goose, or the teleporter in Nexus colony, for example.
Cuckoo Bird - related to a swapper but ofc the power would be to strong. So weaknesses would be a detective can scan to see if you have quote on quote contaminated evidence (swapped) with a purple evil đż, sheriff can ofc kill you and u are also a target for spies. Before you can Sabotage meetings you have to do a mission like the ducks disguised as a task, and to avoid campers have there be like 4 of them and they are random to which one u need. You can not swap yourself and somebody else, you can only swap two other players. You get a bonus if you are alive by the end. You win with ducks if u live and with geese if u win, your only goal is to confuse players and make sure you annoy them.
Darkwing Duck or Neutral killer ---- Can cause a giant cloud of darkness to form in an area -- kinda like a dark version of the shower steam. Neutral version might require a kill thats only active in the darkness (not useable when lights are out) Optional : Darkness moves with player for its duration
I went to see if any birds use echolocation and there's 2 so I figured out roles that could be used
Oilbirds and Swiftlets use echolocation to see in the dark. What if there was a role that you could use echolocation to see where someone is on the minimap? Like a killer would say (MM) "I was in the library" and the Oilbird or Swiftlet (that was testing finger prints) could see on their minimap that nobody was in there and call their bluff
I would just like to argue for Falcon voter rights. It's sad when a noob asks why they can't vote and dies for it.
Or you can just use that play as a dodo, and people will stop voting the falcon out for it
i can't choose my role, but i see what you mean.
I would compare that to the first time you get Impostor in Among Us and don't know that certain tasks always complete in a certain order so you lie and say you did the bottom gas in Skeld first or that you did keys on Polus when it isn't a common task. It's part of learning the game, and that person probably won't make that mistake again.
I still don't know how to play that game.
i am sure a great many people will make the same mistake over and over again. Human nature is inevitable.
President/Judge Goose - During a meeting, The president/judge goose has the ability to take executive action for the pack to kick whoever they vote for. This ability can only be used once per game and can be designed to be discrete or obvious.
Discreet: At the kicking animation, when all the players thought that they had voted someone out the sentence "The President/judge has taken executive action" (or something along those lines) can be displayed shocking everyone in the lobby like the assassin does when they kill. Note- they must skip until they have made a decision. Introducing an additional forced skipping role can help ease the frustrations over the falcons inability to vote
Obvious: when a meeting is called the president/judge can have a button with a gavel (where the assassin would have his target button) to disable everyone's voting powers so that only they can vote. Note- this would be the fun choice as the ducks have to lie their butts off and the geese get to make intellectual accusations of their suspects before the president's/judge's final decision
The idea behind this role is to save the ability till the end (since it can only be done once per game) and be a sole deciding factor at times of uncertainty or disagreements. The President/Judge should have been taken mental notes on everyone's talks during the prior meetings to make an educated choice. This role can especially be useful in the games where there's still 3 ducks at the end; making voting pointless for the geese, ultimately, turning the tide and helping out they're constituents when the time comes.
I actually like it, as it could both make good play or shoot yourself in the foot
Camouflage (technically could be goose or duck)
When stands still for 3 seconds becomes invisible. Upon moving again you become visible again.
If role is for goose it could be that the kill button for ducks doesnt light up but could still be pressed to kill. This may cause ducks to spam the kill button To see if they could kill a camo goose but then accide tally kill a different goose coming around the corner that had a friend
If role is for duck its just a iseful camping techbique to give them a false sense of alone safety
Then what would be the point of the snoop?
Sabotage Goose: Has the ability to stop sabotages remotely, can be used once per game. This power also includes the ability to have suspects, basically each time a sabotage is triggered, a certain number of people (if its 16 player game itd be 2) get removed from supposed duck list. Then you can generaly find out who it is by elimination.
Chicken (goose) - ability: wake up call - able to button from anywhere, not during emergencies. Once per game.
I was thinking chicken as a neutral role and if it gets eaten they win lol, some nice kfc and would make those birds think twice about eating those body's
i dont think vultures win so often that they really need to be nerfed by worrying about losing from eating a corpse
I agree, so long as the kill cooldown isn't super low it's not super easy for a vulture to get a win
What about a owl(barn owl) that if they eat a body it can see what general colour killed (light/dark) but it can only do that once, like it's coughing up a feather from the killer, another roll that would work with a farm map maybe it has to eat the ducks and then it has one chance to see what general colour the duck that might have killed after eating one body needs to at least eat the majority of ducks
So the general convention with birds is if they are not a Goose or Duck, they are a Neutral role that would need its own unique win condition (Pigeon infecting everyone, Vulture eating X bodies, etc). That role could potentially be a Goose variant, or if sticking with an Owl, it would need a unique win condition.
I mean thats true, they need a purpose
Pirate Chief role, when it dies from a duck or any role (expect voted out) it steals half of the money that its killer gains in the endgame but its body becomes invisible like if it was a professional kill. The pirate could also walk slower on account of its peg leg (another idea)
Cant think how to categorize it for meta, putting both for sake of the idea, but either a Fulmar/Condor as a Neutral Role or a Glutton Duck - Only can kill 1 person a round (gets a short CD on round start), however they can eat only their target, hiding the body and can transform into whomever they eat it for the rest of the round, but can only eat who they kill or auto-eats on kill and cannot un-transform until the round is over, and lose the transform button if the round is over. This way they have to be tactical about shifting, and hiding from the other geese (kinda like a combo role of Morphling & Cannibal) Win Condition is that they need to transform X times only if neutral role
Idk if someone already proposed what i'm gonna say
but I was thinking about maybe one duck which can make one goose become a duck, but that same maybe a little strong for the game so I have no idea about how to make it fair ?
and on goose which can choice with 2 roles at the beginning of the game, I mean with the roles in game, that randomly give him 2 roles on the game and he have to take one ?
Or why not a goose which can transform into one role but depend the task he choose to do ?
It's just some ideas I have no name or clear idea but I wanted to propose because why not if that can give ideas
I'd rather take a role that had some optionality about their role than one that can change factions
there's a lot of cases where if this happens mid game, that would ruin the balance.. if you thought winning against 3 ducks is hard, imagine 4, but one that chose to become a duck later
if there's any team switching, i'd reserve it for a role in a new game mode
Yes, like i thought that can maybe be unfair, but maybe reduce -1 less duck is probably maybe still unfair, but I wanted to propose this idea, I'll think a little more about something which can be more fair and interesting, i just like the idea about switching role I don't know why
even if the player whose affiliation was switched did not have the ability to kill, it still winds up being a net +2 for team duck purely on bodycount. There's still definitely a fun verbal obstacle course of changing team affiliation without making it obvious you've changed sides, but the progress towards the duck's win condition (outnumbering living geese) and the voting power it gives their team is very volatile. Unless you were completely removing that player's ability to count toward duck wincon, and can't vote at all (to prevent ducks voting skip together to protect one that was caught), and can't use their powers that they had prior to conversion, you'd still have a difficult-to-balance role. This sort of role works differently in turn-based deduction games because the killers are only getting 1 kill per night via majority vote, rather than each member getting a kill button.
I had an idea of where once all the birds tasks are done, then they'd get to choose, but that is very different from being able to change someone else's faction when you want
I have seen the suggestion before about roles that don't 'activate' until a certain amount of tasks are done
there's probably a version of it that works in a non classic+ game mode
What i ment is once the players take are done...
But that could work
I think the closest to this I think would be something similar to the Informant role in Town of Impostors. Where when the crewmate who is the Informant completes all their tasks, the impostors are revealed to them. But you can set that when they have a certain amount of tasks left, they are identified on the screen for the impostor and they can kill em before they can complete last task and out the baddies. But Iâm sure you all are aware of that role since you all looked into all the TOI/TOU stuff đ
yes i am aware of that role as the snitch!
i mean as a whole other game mode really
you can't have it in classic plus.. because everyone would rush their tasks to get their ability
and then the game would just be over
I saw someone suggest a snitch-like role that gets an ability like the spy once they complete their tasks. They can find ducks if they are the only player to vote for them. Ducks can counterplay by voting themselves, but this reduces the voting power of the ducks and can seem suspicious if they do it too often. Could still cause issues but is at least an interesting idea that offers counterplay to the ducks.
Thatâs why the ducks get an arrow pointing to the snitch when they have x amount of tasks left. They can be wiped out before they can snitch. But I understand đ I figured that you all woulda already evaluated it. You guys do an awesome job of balancing play đ
Brainwashing duck
Cannot vent
Can use its ability on 1/4 of living players each round before cant use it again. So min of 1 max of 4.
During a meeting anybody that this duck used its ability on in the previous round round will now forcibly vote for the same person that this duck votes for providing they dont vote before him. (Falcon will still skip)
Communicator duck
Can anonymously send messages during rounds that all ducks can see. However be careful the mimic can see them too. This messaging system is one way, they cant respond. (cant be on during blind ducks)
Math teacher (bird)
Team: neutral
Can use their ability on players. The next time they interact with something (task, button, sabotage, etc) a math quiz pops in front of them with simple qeustions and a timer. If you fail the quiz you die if you succeed you may continoue with your interaction. And just like how you cant talk during tests you will be muted during the quizz
Win condition
Similar to vulture but instead of bodies its failed math quizzes
Well I'm dead
Chain reaction duck (theres probably a better name for this)
When this duck tries to kill someone, instead of them Just dieing it checks if there are any other killables nearby this player. If yes ot will move on to that person and check again and this one is safe. If not this player dies.
This role is designed to kill in large groups where they would likely be farthest from the body dieing.
This role only kills 1 person per clicking kill button except in case of lovers
The Kamikaze and demolition ducks in #850063497877913630 are more balanced versions of this
Donât know if this has been thought of, but why not a duck role that can go invisible for 10 seconds and call the role Owl.
fyck my bad.
Penguin as a role has been suggested a few times as well
But i mean different versions can be submitted. Who knows maybe a better version will be suggested
Yeah but all the roles are birds
So?
they should make a owl role that can see in the dark
Seeing in the dark takes away so much of the duck's utility, a role like this would come with SERIOUS downsides if we ever decided to make it. It's too powerful.
I always thought that the Birdwatcher's active ability should be able to see in the dark within their cone of vision. If nothing else than because it sucks having your entire ability shut off by a sabotage.
what if a future goose is invisible to ducks when the light goes out
Sly Duck - if this duck kills in the current round, they unlock a button for the next meeting only that they can target a player and make them vote a different person that the Sly Duck choses. If they do not use the button, they must kill again to obtain the conditions again. If that is too OP for end game: if 4 or less people, they can still chose whose vote to control, but the vote casted is random. only issue i see here is what happens if a falcon is targeted, maybe make it a random vote after the vote is altered
New idea would be idk an Emu? Idk if an emu idea has been made yet
acting duck: a duck that pretends to die and next time they kill or a meeting gets called they go back to normal it probably needs buffs to make people want to use it but i still think it could be a fun idea
Magic Goose- if they think someone is sus they can vote them out automatically but only once a game
Informed Goose- Starts the game knowing the role of one other goose chosen at random. The other goose has no idea.
That just hardclears 2 players when they find each other. Since they'd tell the other person they know the role and the other goose understands that its because they're also a goose.
Bodyguard has imperfect information to work with since the only criteria is not-duck/mimic, and someone could lie in that interaction to gain trust
This is technically just vigilante but with votes instead of g u n
Cowboy Duck:
The Cowboy Duck can fire a whip and can kill somebody from farther away (animation is shown on the whip). The whip cooldown and 10 seconds longer than the regular cooldown.
It would make it more balanced if the lasso could just pull people to you so you can like kidnap people during lights and kill them.
Yeah maybe also #876961085662560267
(pending proper name) Nesting Duck - can only kill people near a vent/closet/leaves/ anywhere someone can hide out of sight, and they stuff the body in the vent etc. Other killing roles cannot detect the body, only non killing roles like mechanic etc, and it is found only if they enter that vent etc, and it is an instant report
Hostage Duck - has an ability they can use X times a game, that allows them to silence another player and 'forces an escort' for 20ish seconds, so that it looks like that player is following the Hostage duck, even though they are handcuffed. after the timer runs out, the Hostage Duck kills the hostage. There can also be a button to kill them earlier if desired.
this one is prolly over powered/stupid/cannot be done, but sharing for the sake of ideas and the lolz
Selfie Goose - when a body is found they take a selfie with the body, the actual picture is shown to the Selfie Duck and the person the corpse belongs too. The goose makes a duck face in every selfie. When the Selfie Goose is killed, they take a selfie of themselves and the killer and it is shown to everyone for a few seconds. the preview can be interrupted by a report/meeting etc
Eavesdropper Goose - can see a shorter distance X (~25%) but can hear (and maybe be heard when they speak) further in the same distance that their vision is shortened
Spidey Sense Goose - once per round or it automatically triggers, but they have an ability that has 'tingles like spidey sense' to detect the direction that a harmful player (anyone will a kill button) is in / or harm happened
Unbreakable Goose
This Goose needs to be killed three times to finally be put to rest. When first attempted to be killed, they won't. Same for the second time. But after the third time they are attempted to be killed, they drop dead like a normal Goose. There is no indication if the Unbreakable Goose loses one of their lives or not, and the Unbreakable Goose does not know how many times they have been attempted to be killed. A smart Duck will communicate this to their other Ducks to potentially assassinate them.
necromancer goose: once per game the necromancer goose can bring back a dead goose once per game but the necromancer has the possibility to bring back a duck or the necromancer has the sacrifice them self to bring a goose back those are two good nerfs
Bad idea because dead people can see everyone's roles, knowing the ducks is ultimately op either way
Have you guys considered a doctor/necromancer/altruist role where a goose can resurrect a corpse?
@bronze moat you want to DM me your idea, something about it the bot doesn't like it
Grave robber Goose
Can steal a dead birds ability for one round. (person selected during meeting) If the role they are stealing is one that isn't useful example: if you try to steal from the dodo find nothing in the grave and have to try somebody else. The ability can only be used X times and can't be used on the same person twice
The Hunter Goose:
Brings its killer to the grave with him by shooting one last hunting rifle bullet. The ducks however know that he is the Hunter because of an icon above his head like Gravy Goose. He can only be enabled if the assasin also is but you can Assasin without Hunter
The Marksmen Duck- This duck unlike a duck can use a Sabotage feature where they can snipe any player a certain distance from them. They stand still they enter a hui where they see through the scope, click their target, shoot and fire. This is good to try to frame others for the kill you did. Ofc you can kill normally but this is just a second option. It is weak sometimes because you are indeed standing still so people could see you. The sniper has a silencer so people can't hear it.
Cuckoo Bird - related to a swapper but ofc the power would be to strong. So weaknesses would be a detective can scan to see if you have quote on quote contaminated evidence (swapped) with a purple evil đ, sheriff can ofc kill you and u are also a target for spies.
Forensic Goose - once per game if you come across a body you have the ability to search it and get information of the killer off it by either location, color, role etc, whatever you developers deem worthy.
Chicken - when you are killed you do not know you have died until 5 seconds later when you fall over and bleed out, this will have you not know who killed you unless you remember who touched you and you would have tell the person closest to you, when you hear a heartbeat sound soon after- that is when you know when you will die, you go up and have to sheriff kill who you believed murdered you by memory. (I say sheriff kill because no matter who you kill you both die) revamped idea PS- you are muted after you hear the heartbeats
If I'm not wrong, any role that has a connection with coming back to life has been refused
Explosive duck- If you are killed by anyone that can kill they will also die along with anyone in a certain radius of the kill. Might be too overpowered but its cool
I'd make it a goose role and call it Boom Boom Goose
The Peril partridge is an idea I just had (sorry for all the chatting devs Iâm bored in class atm lol) my idea is a fake gravy goose or fake hitman target and when killed the peril partridge letâs out a âscreamâ and I calls a meeting automatically like a Canadian thatâs a bait for the ducks. Or alternatively it could be a role that needs a certain amount of kills to join the ducks but if they kill a duck they kill themselves out of guilt (like a sheriff) and this role canât see who ducks are but one duck (out of 2-3) could see who they are if there is only one duck then the duck cannot see who the peril partridge is. This role could also opt to not join the ducks but help the geese and do their tasks (if they join the ducks side their tasks could be removed or switched to fake so the geese can still win off tasks) Sorry for the paragraph and sorry for the mildly bad idea lol just wanted to share it
New Technician: just to make the role more spicy since its really not a favorable role anymore, there is now the fear of getting assassinated and having nothing but ghosts doing the sabos. maybe the Technician can also deactivate activated sabotages once its been used. that way the ducks have to go back and redo that activation but it can only be deactivated once per sabotage used.
Claymore Canary/Bomb bird - a hilarious duck role. once per round, Youâre able to place a claymore anywhere on the floor. Geese are able to see claymores so they can be avoided, however, if someone isnât paying attention or walking with their map open and walk over it? Boom! Thereâs a big explosion and theyâre dead, along with anyone else who is within normal kill distance of the explosion. The explosion can be heard throughout the entire map. The claymore canary/bomb bird must be careful not to walk over the claymore as they place it though, as it can kill them as well if triggered. They can also kill their duck teammates, so it might be wise to warn them where they are/will be placed. The canary/bird wonât be able to vent, so geese can try to deduce who had an opportunity to place that claymore there. If you get one claymore a round and theyâve all been avoided there can be a âmax claymoreâ option that removes the oldest claymore on the map as a new one is placed after the selected max number of claymores is reached. Or you can leave it one per round with no max. On the map and see how well everyone is at avoiding many claymores on the map at once. Kaboom.
Boom Boom Goose
Maybe a role that can go invisible for a bit?
A discord role, Thor role (lol chris already disagree)
I was talking about this role for A while but how about A "Turkey" Where it needs to be murdered (Via ducks, sheriff or vigilante) before A meeting gets called to win. It's like A dodo but it can't be ejected.
I'd say make it a win state for the turkey if the meeting gets called a certain number of times without them dying or being voted off. to make it more fair to the gameplay loop
Stalker Goose: Can see everyone's votes (would obviously need blind voting) But i think this could be a good idea
Avenged Lover [Name WIP] - a Role that if killed as Loving Partner you get a chance of not dying and in fact receiving a Kill button, You do not get told who your lover was killed by, however you will receive a limited Medic report during the initial meeting. you only have until the end of the next round to figure out who killed or you take your own life.
Win Condition - A lover win can Still be achieved if:
~ The Avenged Lover [Name WIP] manages to Kill the Duck / Falcon / Vigilante / Sheriff that killed their Lover. - The Game will End if The kill is Successful.
~ The Duck / Falcon / Vigilante / Sheriff etc... Kills the Role who Killed the initial Lover.
NOTE - This completely Changes the way Classic+ will be played especially during the Meeting of which the lover was killed. Claiming you were a lover will make everyone think twice about who they kill in the next round.
Conditions on Loss - An Avenged Lover [Name WIP] will die / Lose if:
~ They Kill the wrong Goose / Duck [Similar scenario to Sheriff] - Killing the Wrong person will kill you immediately, Your body will flop, You are dead.
~ You Run out of time. - The Avenged Loverr only has until the end of the Next round to figure out and kill the Role who took their lover's life otherwise they Die as Romeo and Juliet did, Together.
This role adds a new twist on Lovers and will change Games massively
Tron Duck (probably a different name would be better)
cannot vent
can activate their ability once per round
for about 3-5 seconds they leave a trail behind them that if anyone touches will die, even if the tron duck touches it. it will not disappear until someone touches it or a meeting is called.
please take all comments whether they be positive or negative to role discussion i am already there ^_^
Treasure Hunter Goose - after all tasks are complete, they get an additional long task that awards them additional silver or a gold piece if completed. Can only be done if still alive.
EG gaining access to a hidden safe behind a picture task in manor. Or could also include duck sabo unlock spots to provide sus and a reason for a goose to be there
Tracker Goose - once per game can plant a tracking device on another player and can see their location live on the map for that round only.
Might be too powerful if it stays there all round / until someone touches it. What if the only survivors are in showers, you cut off their exit and then call Reactor?
Mirror Goose
Team: Geese
Ability (Passive): when the Mirror Goose is "Killed" a sound of glass shattering (similar to chandelier) can be heard through the map, and this goose gains a kill button (warning, the Mirror Goose can only survive one misfire unlike the sheriff)
Description: When you look in the mirror, the mirror looks back./what do you see? (The second part can be either of those.)
If the Mirror Goose is shot by the Sheriff the Sheriff doesn't die, but looses his kill ability like the Vigilante.
Note: Duckly Gaggle, since you've made a couple references to Star Trek, here's one in the form of a role!
Ninja Duck - Gain invisibility and a small speed boost for 3-5 seconds after killing. You are unable to be detected by any goose roles. This means that when detectives investigate you they'll see you as a goose, and technicians will not see where you trigger sabotages. To balance this out, the kill cool down will be noticeably higher for Ninja Ducks.
Canât think of a name yet (goose) - this gooses role will be known to themselves and the ducks. This role canât be assassinated and ducks wonât know who they are until the first meeting is called (to prevent them being killed off the start).
What this adds to gameplay: another role for ducks to claim, and is safe to claim because the ducks would know if they are alive or not. It would still be risky for ducks to try to claim first round because they wonât know until the first meeting.
There isnât really anything preventing this goose from claiming their role in a group of people, so Iâd like to hear ideas on how to make it more balanced
Simple, Call the normal goose a Ghooste for all of october
"The Lock picker" (or different name) ability to open one shut door (or more) per round with a possible additional task to find and pick the safe which could contain random possibility of %item, %Silver, %Gold, or %Nothing (or create a role called "The safe cracker" with this task in mind. In addition you could make it so the role had to find the lock picks 1st or a 4 digit code to open doors/safe.
"The Teleport-er" the ability to teleport to any part of the map (or limited range) this could be once per game, per round or a timed ability. This could be used as either a duck or goose role. The effects could be similar to a teleport-er from say Star Trek so there is a slight possibility of being seen using this ability at activation and destination.
What IF instead of the semi-boring "Mimic" role - what if it became the "Under Cover Cop" role? Like the "sheriff" they have a kill button and may kill ducks/neutrals but appear as a duck to the ducks and will die if they accidentally kill a goose.
I feel like this would be a more entertaining role than "mimic" and maybe even could replace the "sheriff" or be an option to have either/or so it's not over powered. â¤ď¸
Itâs fun pretending I agree plus another killing goose role similar to sheriff would make it mildly unbalanced in favor of geese
i try to be careful about the number of non-duck killers we put into classic plus
if people had their way, i promise you everyone would just have a kill button
Its just a thought. I dont think its completely boring either but I know a lot of people do. I think it could be a fun edit to the sheriff role - like a setting where you can only have either/or of the roles. You can only have either the under cover cop OR a sheriff and mimic. But I wont be upset if no one else fancies the idea lol. (:
true
a while ago i had considered the concept of OR roles
and we might revisit it later, but it's something we've put aside for now
let me see if i can grab a screenshot
undercover cop sounds very good
Pretty sure this is mentioned but ...
Swooper Duck - As the name implies, this duck will Fly Up to the sky, and then have an animation that it Swoops down to kill an unexpecting Goose. As the timer expires, the duck will touch down back to the ground. As it Fly up and Lands back down, it creates a small shockwave. If you see this shockwave, this means the Swooper is present - an disavantage to this role.
I noticed that the game has a lot of similar roles to Town of Salem, I think the Retributionist role would be a cool addition, basically if a special geese die you can use their ability once or the old way: bring one person back to life. I was thinking about this in case of situations like a Vigilante getting killed before they can use their shot or a Detective dying before they can detect someone.
Pinball duck
Cannot vent
Has an ability to shoot a ball that is slightly slower than a player and ricochets off walls 5 times before disapearing. If it hits a player that player dies and the ball disapears
Using this ability is unique as you hold down L-shift to activate aiming mode(flashlight vision) and release to fire
Farting Goose
Activate ability to constantly fart. Using the ability makes the goose go much faster as it is its propulsion system. The fart accelerates the goose making it go 3x faster than birds. Covers large amount of distance really quickly. 1 minute cooldown because it takes a long time to build up gas.
Doctor Goose (name can be changed but the idea is as follows)
Ability: Sacrifice itself to revive a dead bird (can be duck or a goose).
Mayor role: In 1 meeting their vote counts as 3 or 2 or some number above 1, this is only able to be used once a game.
Have you guys considered this role from Town of Us?
We have! We will carefully examine most role ideas to consider their subsequent effect on the overall balance of classic mode. Please check out #850063497877913630 to see some ideas that we are tinkering with.
Some friends and I enjoy the new hitman/bodyguard roles except to the fact the budyguard is simply a meat shield, we think an improvement instead of possibly adding one shot to it like the vigilante, make it so while guarding their target, they can survive one kill attempt on them per game (kind of like a body armor) but if they are kill buttoned after the first shot, they will die. (Reference as like a single shield per game) allowing a sequence kill screen to see the duck/killer role (attempting) to kill them but it being blocked (which leaves bodyguard to either hope someone reports a body or they run hoping to get to the buzzer in time to call a meeting before they get killed for real. (This shield protection though should not work against sheriff as it would suck for only the sheriff to die so either opt that they both survive with a chance to explain why they live and if the person was sheriff or duck, or just let it be that sheriff and bodyguard both still die, per normal)
some bird idk what to call him
Goal: to see everyones role(just like spy in order to see the person role)
So I know I said it before but will say in case no one notice it but added few changes
- the bird who idk what to name(but you could choose) cannot skip neither press emergency button and idk if he can report or not(cus in case he want to make it easier and have to button)
2: he cannot vote himself so the spy duck may or not will see his role so he only vote geese/ducks/dodo/pigeon/vulture/falcon
Guess Who Goose- goal is to successfully guess (your choice amount) of other people's roles during voting/meeting time, but if (your choice amount) are guessed wrong before games end they will get insta voted off/killed during voting (animation could possibly be like a trap door dropping them into darkness)
we considered the idea of giving the bodyguard one shot. however, it entirely negates the vigilante really
also, the target gets to report the body nearly everytime the bodyguard dies for them, so there's an additional layer of play where the target has to convince the lobby that someone did kill their bodyguard
I feel it's kinda of a 50/50 with target reporting though, the few I got being bodyguard my target was vulture and then another kill role, so though having that as a stay safe, if the target to protect is also another role that regards in needing you dead, it's kind of just a death sentence role. Instead of having them have a single shot like vig, perhaps something along lines of like the single shield protect per game, kind of like,e their own built in safe precautions for the larger lobbies where the target can have an offensive role, but negate the shield if their target to protect dies before the bodyguard gets attacked. Only just a suggestion to make the body guard role more enticing to want to play
I mean if you didn't want to die you don't have to find your target
I think it's very possible you'd be happier just turning the role off though
Graveyard Crow - Team; No one - The role is an independent team that can respawn the dead onto his team but the dead people can't talk/text/vote but the crow gets to have their votes.
How he wins is if he gets more dead people on his side then the living gooses while all ducks/falcons are dead but ducks/falcon can kill the dead if they kill the Crow all the dead people that were brought back die again.
The Crow Can't kill so he has to depend on random kills to happen
Cool down 15s or 30s =>
(The dead people can talk in ghost chat to make it better =] Edit this role as you want though! I just like the base of it.)
If you have the bodyguard an auto shield it more or less is giving the geese literally plus one goose in the game, and most of the time minus one evil killing role
It would break the game
Haunting Goose - Team; Goose - The role is a basic Goose but if someone kills this role start of next round they spawn back only able to kill the person who killed them... of course that's to op so they should be put on a time limit but don't forget they also have a cool down at the start of the round on the kill button so they have to be fast! Once the timer is done that ghost is ran over by the ghost train and they are dead for remainder of the game forced to watch their killer either win or get killed themselves.
Kill timer; 15s
Ghost haunt time: 45s
(Those are all my ideas for the week lol besides the magic Goose I posted before.)
Nimble Goose:
Time that it takes to complete tasks are reduced. When starting a task, it would be partially done for you. Timed tasks would be reduced by half.
Wisperer role, can make someone randomly know someone elses role
What about a duck role that can once per game kill a snoop/pigeon while they are in hiding? Like it would be a random shot type thing - they can use that button once per game at any hiding location and if there is no one hiding there the shot is wasted but if there is then a blood spot could show up on the hiding location similar to the way chandelier does.
(This would help with those players that like to stalk sabotage tasks at the beginning of the game with their hide roles an accuse people for doing it before anything in the game could happen).
Shifter - Can swap roles with one person and the person they switched with becomes a normal goose (could be a neutral or goose)
I think for the snoop role if they go to hide somewhere a duck is already hiding they automatically pop them out would add an additional fun to the role
Everyone has heard the saying "running around like a chicken with it's head cut off." What if there was a chicken in the game?? when the duck kills them, they don't die until the next meeting is called. They stay alive with the lights out affect and reversed controls. But until the next meeting is called, they can run around and try to lead people to their killer. Cannot be reported and cannot talk after they've been killed
Small thought I had about @pliant valve's bodyguard suggestion: maybe the bodyguard could get a 1-time kill button only when they're right next to the target. That would fix the issue of it being just another vigilante, and the possibility of accidentally killing your own target would be pretty funny/good for sparking discussion in meetings
Magician (insert bird here) and Rabbit Goose/Duck
Magician (insert bird) is a Neutral Role that can make Geese and Ducks disappear for a round (animation could be throwing a towel or blanket over them). This Birdâs goal, to make the Rabbit disappear. When that happens, they win. The magician cannot see who the Rabbit is, so they have to guess, but they can be notified if the rabbit is killed.
My idea for them to make a goose disappear, is that the geese just essentially invisible, they are still alive for the most part but they cannot be found and are silenced until a meeting is called where they can reveal they are in fact alive and who the magician is. While geese are invisible, I figure itâd be fair to put it so that Ducks and Pigeons have 1 less person to kill/infect so it's not super unfair.
Rabbit Goose/Duck is the goose or duck being hunted by the magician.
If Rabbit Goose, just survive, make allies and stay with a crowd. The odds he can get an innocent goose and get voted is higher.
Rabbit Duck, stay with crowds as well, but feel free to kill the magician if necessary
Not even discussing how good or bad the idea is, I feel like calling the target Dove instead of Rabbit goose/duck would be better
I realized that as I put it in, but also I imagine they are targeting a Goose or Duck so calling them a Dove could potentially ruin that aspect of it. Dove Goose or Dove Duck don't sound as appealing as just Rabbit
Saboteur Duck
Team: Duck
Specializes in delaying the actions of geese. He has a lot of traps and sabotage tools for this.
Ability:
Ice carpet - makes that the next person who passes the hallway will go along its entire length to the very end.
Sticky surface - slows down the first person by 50% for 5 s.
Sabotage of tasks - can sabotage any tasks, making them need to be repaired for 5 seconds before they are made.
An updated version of troll goose
While you are in a meeting you can activate your ability to when the next rounds starts whomever kills you he will die next meeting
If you don't die that round you will die next meeting
Rework the Hitman Duck and Bodyguard Goose. The Hitman Duck now has a contractor in the form of the Cuckoo role, which is the most gangster bird out there. If a Hitman is in the game, it also guarantees another player to gain this Cuckoo role. It works as it's own Lover-esque win condition where the Hitman and Cuckoo want to work together, but all throughout, the pair doesn't know who the other person is.
The Bodyguard and Hitman are no longer assigned a permanent target, instead the target is now chosen by the Cuckoo during a meeting. The Cuckoo is able to mark a target for the Hitman during each meeting, then during the consecutive round, the Hitman and Bodyguard will know who the target is and will attempt to either kill or protect that target, no matter if the target may be good or bad. If the Hitman kills X amount of targets (depending on amount of players) selected by their Cuckoo, the duo wins. The Cuckoo is as such a neutral role that can only win with their contracted Hitman.
During this ordeal, the Hitman may have another Duck as their target, the Bodyguard or Hitman may become the target, the Hitman can end up being voted out / killed leaving the Cuckoo completely baffled as to why none of their targets die, etc.
I would like the hitman and bodyguard to have a sheet of paper to be able to see their target, i like your rework
The Mallard, his role is to snuf the other ducks out, they know he is a mallard and he knows who they are, the only way to win with mallard is to hire someone. Upon hiring, the person who is hired can murder (plus their ability), cannot hire ducks and their goal is to kill the ducks. If the last duck excluding the mallard is murdered by the hired, they both win and get a coin bonus. Otherwise the mallard can win by simply killing the goose and duck winning. If the hired dies, mallard dies too
An Owl whoo can see farther when lights are off
I think Cuckoo would be better as a role that reveals the killers to the Cuckoo after they finish their tasks, kinda like the Town of Us Snitch role.
Im not that creative but theres my idea:
Crazy Goose: when there are at least 6 people in the same room, he gets a green halo that only can be seen by itself when everyone there is a good role; and a red one if theres at least one duck in the room.
I feel like bodyguard should be able to be a killing role, like the sheriff but if they guess wrong they die and not the goose they guessed. And it has to be a duck not a neutral role like pigeon or falcon or dodo, etc
Owl pitch #23 (yes, I counted)
- Neutral role, gets flashlight vision and can kill only during lights sabotage
- Win condition: get a set amount of kills during a match (same as # of bodies eaten for Vulture, maybe more?)
- Kills leave lumps of feathers & bones behind that can be seen by players, but not reported
i don't think thats a good idea. then it will be very easy to know if there is a danger. good idea but maybe.. just different
So a detective on steroids?
What does that have to do with detective?
Detective can investigate to see if a player has killed, your idea seems close to that concept of knowing good from bad.
infiltrator duck which can use all sabotages without having bodies to advert the sabotage
Kamikaze Duck
You can kill yourself in a meeting and kill anyone by your choice, the meeting is then ended after 5 seconds
There is a similar role in #850063497877913630
hunter-if you get voted out you get to kill one other player on the way out the door. This should come into effect before win condition is calculated so if the hunter gets voted off at 5 and kills an imposter, the game keeps going. Could get dicey with 3, youâd have to deactivate him at that point.
I'm aware that it may seem like a mafia role but it would be implementable
Fools gravy bird (like fools gold except its gravy)
Team: Neutral
Win Condition: Get killed not voted out
Cannot be turned on if grvay goose isnt turned on
the fools gravy bird has a money bag next to its name just like the one that the gravy goose does and wants to be killed.
I feel like this role could give a sort of helping hand to protect gravy goose while also making gravy goose not want to reveal their role. also if the fools gravy decides to try to reveal their role the gravy goose could deny it. plus if the ducks know gravy goose is dead but the fools gravy is still alive, they could out them, however only a duck could know its fools gravy which in turn would cause their own death, but they dont want a falcon, sheriff, or vigi to make a mistake.
so your saying ducks need to kill them
well you could try get involve on a ducks doing a double kill that a duck kill a goose anad the other duck kills you and stay near to the duck doing a sab or follow a person(if he/she a duck then your lucky if vigi sheriff falcon then gg you lost)
chicken role, pretty much has to be in proximity of another player if not then a 10 second countdown will go off and you need to find a player, you also cant report bodies and if a goose/ neutral role kills them ducks kill cooldown is is shortened by 1.25 per round theyve been dead for Till they did all there task
what is their win condition?
it would just be a goose
but its a chicken
but I am a chicken and I am always scared so peace
as in a chicken is a coward
Agrou?
agrou?
Forensic Goose - once per game if you come across a body you have the ability to search it and get information of the killer off it by either location, color, role etc, whatever you developers deem worthy.
Maybe the forensic could collect dna samples after finding a body and have a match
idk the color is a bit gonna be op
Then instead of knowing if theres at least one duck, then at least a person who killed, like ducks, the vigi or sheriff
A goose that has a burst of speed, usable like the medium (Long cooldown, short active), or maybe this would work better on a duck?
It's a deduction game, very small community. I'm just mentioning that the idea was similar to the hunter role from Agrou. If you are attacked you kill a player before you die.
Blue Bird - can complete tasks for other players (like blue collar worker). Donât know if the game could be programmed to allow someone else to potentially complete all tasks for them but having a shared method for at least some tasks could be fun.
And I said it might sound like a mafia role
Yeah
Actually the hunter is from a French game called loup garou were you need to close your eyes instead of the night
I think the game I'm talking about is just the same game but in steam
i think you guys are just referring to werewolf/mafia
and their respective digital and non-digital implementations
yeah
It's from all those game genres, loup garou is known in other names outside of french speaking places
Tactical Goose
The Tactical Goose has a Tactical Beacon they can put down once per round. When the next meeting is done, they spawn on their beacon. Nobody else can see the beacon, and you must have random spawn points enabled.
doctor goose... counters pigeon skill... also can revive a dead body...
So the game becomes unwinnable for the pigeon until the doctor dies?
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JHySGkJPkCGyTxHyU1jK7XAptCkam79RRgt_j-TFOY4/edit?usp=sharing
Venting and killing can be considered the most any role has, and thatâs baked into what a vanilla duck can do. However, there wonât be any roles with several powers in Classic +. Maybe in a different game mode. Part of this is a concern of the balance of enjoyment in the game, and making a role too cool, and by comparison everything else less enjoyable.
chicken
if it dies it is able to walk around with its head off for like 1 second
it could run to someone when it dies showing them the location or maybe they follow the duck giving out that they are the duck for a little while
how would that help or be useful? I like it but it wouldn't reveal anything except the role, but talk for a second is short and useles in public games
Talk maybe
maybe it can follow someone for 5 seconds then drop. so if the killer is running away you chase your killer to hope someone sees
it could become blind while it walks around so it cant just follow its killer
maybe chicken upon death becomes fried chicken, unreportable but can be eaten by vulture / cannibal where it instantly kills them
Mother Goose-
Mother Goose has several more tasks than the rest of the geese. However if she can complete all her tasks before the end of the game or getting killed a golden egg will appear on the map for her to find. If she can get the egg she carries the geese to a task win regardless of any uncompleted task from other geese. Aka getting the golden egg lets the geese win instantly.
Counter-
When the golden egg appears, the ducks get a notification in the task list that the golden egg has appeared letting them know the game is almost over. In response they can either get the last few kills they need quickly before Mother finds the egg, or they can also start searching for the egg to protect it from mother goose, depending on the stage of the game.
so it is capture the flag?
Not quite. More like a treasure hunt. Especially on mother gooses side. The ducks also would have to find it. There could be no indication of where itâs at on the map. Theyâd literally have to search every corner for it.
Another option would be to make it a race and include a timer like with the falcon. If the timer option is implemented the location of the egg would need to be revealed with an arrow/on the minimap. In that case it would be a race to the egg. Mother Goose would need to get to it before the ducks and the timer to end the game. If the time runs out or a duck get there first and mother goose is killed the game resumes as if it never happened. In fact other geese donât even need to know that the golden egg showed up.
Or the arrow just points to the room the egg is in and you have to search that room for it
I know the devs said something about abilityâs being locked behind tasks, but I like this so Iâm gonna add on, if the vulture eats the golden egg, they instantly win, and the golden egg should have a button to spawn it so you can strategize when to spawn it.
Medusa Anhinga (AKA: Snake-Bird)- Neutral Role. They can kill once every 50 seconds. But they can only kill 2+ players in a grouping (I can accept 3+ as well to not effect Lovers so hard). And when they kill they turn the groupers into stone (That stick around entire game to remind people what grouping leads too). They cannot kill 1 person at a time. (I don't know how to do Goose Goose Duck measurements in radius but lets say a 5 Inch Radius.) They win by freezing 1/2 the group. Or say fruck it they cant win but every group they freeze they get bonus coins XD I am fine with either.
(Honestly making them a Falcon Teammate would be cool too. I just want to combat the grouping problem and I feel the Pigeon is not the way to go about it seeing the Pigeon hurts those not grouping as well. But this option would not.)
(Also think if it turns them into stone. You can use this as possibly a bonus thing to sell in the store. Giving the killer what they wish there victims to look like in stone-death. The "Hello my baby pose with a random tophat and cane" came to mind XD)
blacksmith goose: can place a spiky shield on a goose if someone attacks that goose they die if the spiky shield is placed on a duck the duck then the duck dies and everyone will know who the blacksmith is IF there is an alive assassin
Third wheel bird
Team: neutral
Cannot be in a games without lovers but lovers can exist without this
This bird wins if it is still alive and conditions for a lover victory are met. In which case this bird wins instead
Ninja Duck - can teleport place to place. Has a 30 second cool down
What is the counter to this role? maybe a limited amount of teleports
30 second cool down. 3-5 teleports a game. can can take 5 seconds to scan the map zoomed out before being placed. This also gives Birdwatcher another thing to look for making it a good counter Goose
The devs would definitely go for this
Decoy: Neutral: Becomes a duplicate role of any active roles in game.. Can be a 2nd sheriff, 2nd vig, 4th duck, 2nd mimic, etc.... If it is a duck the others see it as a duck just as they do Mimic.. so on 3 ducks it could show 5 ducks on the duck loading screen. Win conditions are as follows: If they are alive during a Duck triggered win condition, as a decoy duck they win.. If they are alive during a task win as a decoy goose, they win. If they get voted out as a decoy Dodo they win. If alive and its Falcon Vrs. Falcon.. they must kill the true falcon to win in its condition.
Decoy ducks do not know they are a decoy.
Alternative: Dodo replacement. Instead of a complicated win condition its the normal dodo vote win. This version they know they are the decoy but their copy role is still random. Their screen prompt would show like "Decoy" then "Sheriff" or "Duck" or like "Birdwatcher" underneath just like it shows the bodyguard/hitman's target. If mimic and 3 ducks are active it could still show the natural ducks 5 ducks,
People are already weary of voting Dodo... So what if you see someone kill, but can't guarantee they aren't a decoy.. Maybe someone else claimed sheriff, are you willing to vote out the false one? This Decoy Dodo can't win by killing, only being voted out. Aka: Still counts as a Goose for Duck Vrs. Geese bodies. So a game ending with 2 ducks, a mimic, and a decoy would be a duck win.
Maybe call it Lyrebird
Decoy is already good, they use them in hunting cause ducks think they are one of them
Condor: Neutral. No win condition. Eat a corpse to become their role, gaining their win condition.
make the meduim goose able to talk to dead people, this has a 60 second cooldown and lasts for 10 seconds, this only works in proximity chat
no, roles that relate to the dead have been refused now and again, this is not a suggestion that could be balanced because the dead people know everyones roles.
thats why they removed the ability to see ghosts for the medium, they out the ducks right away
What about adding DUFFY THE SLAYER to the vampire mode. As I noticed that vampire is very OP.
And you wonât get copyrighted for Duffy.
he's not OP, he's just P
Speaking of P.. how about a Janitor Goose.. they can clear bodies and once or twice a game can undo a major sabotage (the common ones to all maps)
that is literally the cannibal duck, wait goose? what? why would a goose clear bodys? what?
what is clearing a body in this context?
ha, theres already a janitor skin so it could fit
vulture counter that doesn't require a meeting or body report, and Herbert I didn't think it through lol But many homicide scenes require property owners to hire outside janitorial services that deal specifically in human bodily fluid remains.. The police will NOT shampoo your rugs or deep clean your walls, even if its their fault.
or make all kills leave stains that last through the game that show past kill spots, idk
I mean I understand what it does thematically
But why wouldn't a goose just report the body?
idk
imagine suggesting a goose role that actively goes against what geese want to do
suicide duck: Self explanatory
maybe this goose can't report bodies
Puppeteer Duck
Once per round, can mark a player. Once marked, you can trigger your power to see where they are and move them around for a few seconds, a message saying 'you've been controlled!' showing to the player while it lasts.
i dont think it would be fun to make a goose's ability to be to counteract a weakness we're also giving him
it might work better as a duck really, but there's some redundancy with the cannibal and the professional
Then whatâs the point of the role?
It knows the amOunt of dead people
So you can say "I checked three seconds ago, and this person wasn't dead then"
Chicken Goose
Can Sprint for 25% than others for 3 seconds with 10 second or longer cooldown
Gains 5% more speed for every 2 ghosts
make a skin out of gondoller please
It would be obvious to everyone who it is cause they'll be going faster. Would be killed by assassin every time.
Have you guys considered this ability that would be unique to a goose and was visible to everyone?
We think that in a game of social deduction, the element of having to figure out certain roles is important. As such, many roles do have some overlap to create ambiguity. An example of this would be a few ducks, the mechanic, and the pigeon. All can vent, and if you saw anyone vent, you'd have to supplement that information with other information to actually solve who it could be. If you just suggested a role where its ability was visible to everyone, it's likely someone summoned this bot to explain why it isn't viable in the current classic modes. It might still work in other game modes, but keep this in mind for classic+!
Would it be viable to allow the medium to know the number of ghosts within a certain range?
Maybe alongside the ability of knowing the total dead players
That would be almost the same as the ability they removed
Almost, but it would just be the number instead of who and where
It would still be on a timer, and would just be the number at the time you used the ability
I find that the medium is one of those hated roles that people turn off most of the time and I feel it should be reworked to be something slightly more interesting
(Also, I never got the old medium when it was still out, so I don't know the experience of it beforehand)
But think of it scenario-wise,
The medium is walking with one other person, uses the ability and it says "5 ghosts in range"
The medium is then going to push to vote out the one person he's walking with assuming the ghosts are following them.
Let's go to #876961085662560267 if you want to discuss more. No slowmode there.
Twice a game during meetings the medium can text chat with the ghosts, but the ghosts can only respond with preset messages so that they're not able to reveal who anyone is. For example: the ghosts can let them know there is a falcon but not reveal who the falcon is.
Further example: if someone's body isn't found then ghosts can tell what room the body was in or near.
Ghosts that died that round cannot talk, but ghosts that died in previous rounds can talk.
That's a good idea, small issue though that it kind of changes the role entirely
Still fits the name Medium though
You not only make the medium a worse role by implementing your suggestion, but also make it more boring to play.
Can people please accept that the medium doesnât need mechanical changes? Itâs identity is that it knows how many are dead which is knowledge you can use to make solid deductions with. If anything the only change i personally want is disconnected ghosts not screwing with the mediumâs numbers, but its a solid role nonetheless
Personally, I find the Medium's role rather boring. Being able to tell every now and then how many dead avians there are - a number which everyone learns during meetings anyway - feels... kinda meh to me, especially considering you have to constantly re-use your ability and remember the last number of ghosts, which just adds unnecessary tedium to the game.
In my opinion, if this mechanic were to be kept mostly as it is now, it could still be made a bit better if number of ghosts was passively displayed on screen all the time (for instance, superimposed on the role indicator) and every time there is a new death, Medium would get a visual+audio cue of some kind (for instance, ghost indicator would flash and "oOoOoOh!.." sound would play). Less tedium, more action! :3
so medium would be the canadian counter and also op?
we're okay with some players not preferring it, people can always disable it
we endeavour to give enough roels that you can just choose what you want
If people spent less time saying Medium is useless, they might actually figure out how to use it well
idk how to work as a medium
a role's power level and how balanced it is does work on a different spectrum than how fun it is
the prime example that i always love to use is how many complaints we got about the birdwatcher
which was absolutely nerfed but now we don't hear complaints about it anymore
RIP strong Birdwatcher, gone but not forgotten
Archer Duck
He can kill some distance away, press ability button by a goose to craft an arrow
Nanobot duck once per game he can put a nano bot on someone (not visible) and at any moment of the game except meetings he can remotely kill the one with the nanobot
Double-crested Cormorant (Cult) - No team - Once per meeting he can convert ONE person onto his team and if he trys to convert a duck/falcon it tells them they were attempted to be converted and gives a highlighted glow around the Cult members that are currently converted...
He wins by having only his cult alive, and the killing roles he converts (Sheriff, Vigilante, ect.) all get 1 shot when converted after then they get turned into normal culted gooses
when the Leader gets killed the first converted member becomes leader once they die the rest of cult dies but after the leader dies they get a 50/50 (Duck/Random) on who killed the leader (that can be changed just hinting)
I know this was long but genuinely thought this was a good idea!
Arson Duck - In each meeting they can pour some sort of flammable substance on one person, for as many meetings as they want. At any point in the game, during a meeting, it can choose to ignite the substance it has poured to burn everyone it has poured onto.
It can only ignite once a game.
Also has a basic kill button for outside meetings.
Is like the pyromaniac from agrou
Sabotage goose - they have the ability to once per meeting temporarily disable the ducks sabotages so they go on cooldown for like 15 to 30 seconds
I like the medium role when there is a potential assassin you can try and bait a wrong shot pretty effectively tho I suppose that applies to most roles. I think the medium is fine the way it is
So basically the pigeon but not all at once
it follows a very similar bases to pigeon and just seems a little to similar to be implemented
True but the role I'm suggesting can actually be seen by everyone then just someone who is a sweat suspecting your pigeon from how you walk.
Photography goose
They can take two pictures throughout the game, and pictures can be used as evidence during meetings. Ducks who kill them can destroy the photos and geese who find the body can present the photos as evidence. When the photography goose takes a photo, a camera flash is displayed and a shutter sound can be heard ( when a picture is taken they do NOT trigger a meeting/body report )
Undercover Goose
The Undercover Goose gains the ability of a random Duck role that is present in the current game (except Classic Duck, Lover Duck and Professional Duck (because nobody is as Professional as the Professional Duck)), but not their kill button. If a Duck votes for you during a meeting, your role will be revealed to all Ducks. You can only shoot Neutral and Duck roles if you gain the Assassin ability. A Sheriff Goose that shoots you will succeed in killing you without also killing themselves.
So you can gain the ability to eat a corpse, silence a bird, spy on birds during meetings, assassinate bad birds, become able to morph or have a hit on a random non-Duck bird. You only gain one of these abilities depending on whether the role that the ability originated from is present. If no compatible roles are spawned, there won't be an Undercover Goose.
there was a bit of discussion a while back with phoenixwrong about a photographer goose
I was thinking about adding a goose the works like the mayor in town of salem, basically the ability of the mayor in the game is that he is the only one who can reveal his role, in salem when he does it everyone knows 100% because the system says it but maybe here it could do something like making a little breadcrumbs explosion/firework once per game. so if geese see it can know he is legit but if ducks happen to see it they can act like nothing happened, this way you have a goose who CAN confirm his being a good guy but the confirm thing is not absolute and can be countered by lying.
I had that idea. I called it the Eagle đŚ
Rigger Duck
Ability - During meetings, can vote for either one or two people, and can see who voted for who DURING the voting phase.
This role would be used to find neutral roles like falcon and dodo, and would place suspicion on late voters.
Reversal Duck
Team: Ducks
Ability: the Reversal Duck cannot vent, however he can "reverse" the controls of others for 7 seconds, making them walk left when they press right, down when going up and vice versa. (Cooldown of 15 seconds after effect ends)
Once per game, the Reversal Duck can "reverse" the votes, effectively making everyone who voted him vote for themselves and giving him one last ditch effort.
Notes: Vote Reversal can be used when an allied Duck is being voted off, giving that Duck a last ditch effort instead.
Reversal ability could be used to cause tasks to become "mirrored"
:|
Take the vampire role from the tot game mode and have it be Vampire Duck. They bite one person and make them a minion, the minion doesn't respond after death.
If anything I could see just the delayed bite maybe working okay in Classic+ but I believe the team is happy with it in Trick or Treat right now. Who knows, maybe in the future if enough people like it, a version of the vampire could exist in C+, even if only for a limited time.
My role idea: Twins
Twins are like lovers except if one die the other doesn't.
The twins are both geese and can win as geese or twins.
The twins win as geese by doing there tasks or getting off the ducks/falcon.
But, the twins can win as twins together if they both survive at the last 3 people (including them).
I'll update this soon :>
The idea is lovers that don't die together
I'm not sure a Vampire could work in C+ the same as in Trick or Treat. I think it could maybe work strictly as a delayed kill without resurrecting and converting the victim
This is probably too weird to get implemented but maybe a duck that can I guess "gas" a room and I have a bunch of iffy things to go along with it and I feel having all of this might make it too op or just bad so I'm separating them
-Gas is similar to smoke or steam and blocks vision (if not then have a different visual)
-Gas Passing duck is immune to the gas or maybe could last longer in it
-Maybe ducks could last longer in gas to help prevent the gassing duck from killing their team mates?
Gas duck's ability gasses the room they're in (duh)
-Cannot gas certain rooms (like the hallways in the manor) and maybe in larger rooms the gas takes longer to kill (gas is less condensed in larger rooms)
-Everyone who stays in this gas will die after (?) seconds
-Screen edges have an effect that gets stronger as you get closer to death from gas
-This duck cannot sabotage but can still unlock sabotages
and/or
-Gassed room's doors open when the room is gassed and cannot close (there has to be a way out)
-Once the gas ability is used the kill cooldown of killing roles in the room is raised to (?) seconds if below that amount of time
-Pigeon is immune or lasts longer in the gas
-Anyone hiding inside objects will not die to gas, but anyone in vents will
-Different look of the corpse? Idk but it would make it different from people that have been killed vs people that died to gas
Autopsy Goose: When they report a body, they know what kind of role (good, bad, neutral) killed it and/or how long ago the body died. Or they could know the dead person's role.
Random idea - Goose that can transform into a dead goose's role by doing something during a meeting
This would probably be less popular because it would require the setting of roles being revealed after they die turned on
Maybe instead a neutral that can do the same thing but with any dead person for any role and the setting doesn't need to be turned on
Sorry if I'm putting too much here, I don't mean to cover up anyone else's ideas or spam this chat
Ideas are always appreciated. Everything gets read. I think like you mentioned there's issues here with revealing the dead roles to the geese. This might be something that could work for the ducks, to take one of their fellow dead duck's roles.
Toxic Duck:
It can poison geese and after 6 or 7 seconds the poisoned goose dies (if a meeting is called/body is reported, at the end of the meeting the timer will restart) it can poison other ducks if theres a mimic, it can't vent, can poison up to 3 geese/ducks per game.
vengeful goose: when someone kills this goose the killer dies after 1 second (and by killer i mean the person that killed the goose so yes the vigilante and falcon can be killed this way)
that feels a little like the canadian, except more powerful and without any counterplay whatsoever
ducks will die and they wont be able to do anything about it
So, like the vampire, but the goose doesn't get resurrected.
kinda
I agree, I think it would make for some interesting games especially if they added the abilities to turn sheriff misfire crewmate off or on like it was a setting.
Bomb Duck
Has a bomb which can be passed on (like Hot Potato) if you have the bomb you have to pass it on within the time limit, if you have the bomb at the end of the round you explode/die (it will show if you have the bomb). The Bomb Duck must activate the bomb in order to activate the kill button (bomb activation killdown is 10 seconds once round starts).
I like this idea, but I'd like to suggest an alternative for Bomb Duck:
When killed, the bomb arms. Whoever reports the body of the bomb duck will be killed in the following meeting after the discussion timer is up. This role acts as a counter-play to Sheriff, Vigilante, and even Falcon when a Duck ends up killed during a round. Also will make killer geese hesitate before reporting their own successful kills, which can lead to them leaving the body, possibly getting caught fleeing a body, fingers being pointed, and now ducks can claim they are a goose killing role and worried about bomb duck and THAT is why they left the body!
joker duck: can place down a rake down every 10-20 seconds and if a goose steps on it they get stunned for 3 seconds (including neutrals) but the joker has a special rake that they can place down once which kills anyone who steps on it (including ducks) and rakes are invisible to everyone but the ducks, only the joker can see the killing rake (what i mean by that is normal rakes dont affect ducks and killing rake doesnt effect the joker)
Bionic Goose:
Despite the name, this new role is part of the duck team.
Perks
- Can scan for roles once a round
- Can dispose of a body once a game
Cons - Due to poor programming, it's software can not detect other ducks unless a scan is taken place
- It can only kill once every 2 rounds
This was just a quick thought, however, I want to follow along of the lines of "unable to see other ducks"
Pathologist Goose:
Once a game can "autopsy" a body to determine if they were killed by someone evil (cause of death: foul play), someone good (cause of death: accidental), sherriff killed himself by killing someone else (cause of death: accidental or suicide), lover dying when their partner died (cause of death: spontaneous combustion)
brain surgeon duck: can plant a device in a random players head (then the second ebility button will appear) if the brain surgeon uses his ability then he can control the mind of someone and kill someone during their control (i think this should be 5-10 seconds) after the mind control is up the mind controlled player will have an arrow pointing at the brain surgeon (there can be only 1 mind controlled player per round and by round i mean per meeting) after a meeting the arrow will dissapear and the brain surgeon can place his "device in someone once per round and it will take 3 seconds to plant the device and during the mind control the brain surgeon will not be able to move
we have something similar planned. tentatively called the coroner goose
oooooo okay!
but instead, he'd have to stay still over a body to investigate it
and they'd learn their role
Gambler Goose:
During meetings, the Gambler Goose can use their gamble ability to skip their vote and spawn for 1 round as the same role as another Goose that is <dead, alive> at random but also a chance that they spawn as a ghost and remain dead. The odds of spawning as a ghost can be thought of drawing a ghost card from a deck of <dead, alive> player cards that <increases, decreases> as players are killed / voted off.
- If the role works by choosing from a deck of dead Geese, then this gives the Gambler Goose intel on a dead role which is valuable but risky to use in the early game when there are not many dead players.
- If the role works by choosing from a deck of living Geese, then this means the gamble ability is more risky to use late game when there are fewer players but it does give the hilarious possibility of becoming the 3rd Lover and possibly resulting in an early Love Triangle victory or a Triple Kill if one of them dies that round.
- Either way, the Gambler Goose does not change teams and does not know whose role they copied that round (except as a Lover if it works by choosing from alive players in which case they know who the lovers are but don't know if one of them is a Lover Duck or if both are Lover Geese).
- The mechanic of the Gambler Goose possibly spawning as a ghost without a body will lead to people suspecting a Gambler Goose fail when a meeting is called and someone is dead with nobody claiming to have seen them. It also means that the Medium Goose could detect a Gambler Goose fail by using their ability at the start of the round before any kill cooldowns are up.
- For interactions with the Assassin Duck, the Assassin can guess either the "Gambler Goose" role or the role that the Gambler Goose has during that meeting. Either will work.
Sabo goose:
This goose can go and reset the Sabotages on ducks forcing them to come back and set up the sabotages again but the resets wont show up as task but will glow when you are close
alternate ability: instead of reseting the sabotage it shuts down that sabo for the normal cooldown unless its a one time sabotage then its shut down for the round.
"Roulette Duck" - This duck can "mark" up to 4 people in a game during the first round. when in meetings, this duck can "sabotage" the meeting by pressing the kill button, which will bring up a revolver, going around with 6 bullets then pulling the trigger, with a spin in between each target. this ability can only be used once per game but has a 1/6 chance to kill someone, and even after killing the first duck with a lucky shot it would keep spinning. this could be an amazing duck role with high luck but if you have bad luck it could be bad.
Role idea 1: "EMP Duck"
This duck is able to pick a player during a meeting and if they guess their role correctly, that player can only skip. If the player has already voted, it will swap their vote to skip. Only that player can see an indication that they have been EMPed. It could possibly be a little icon on their player model, or a glitch effect on their screen.
Role idea 2: "Flashbang Duck"
This duck is able to pick a player during a meeting and if they guess their role correctly, that player will vote for a random person. If the Flashbang Duck gets their role wrong, they can no longer use their ability. Only that player can see an indication that they have been flashed. It could possibly be a little icon on their player model, or a white flash on their screen.
These ducks can be activated separately and can not be in the same game together. If there is a flashbang duck, there can not be an EMP duck. Vice versa. These ducks can still be activated at the same time, but there will be a 50/50 chance of there being a flashbang or an EMP duck.
Can we get a chicken role where they can't report bodies and force runaway.
The actions youâre describing donât lean to being a goose role in classic or classic+ as they canât report a body. New species for classic/+ need their own win condition. What would be the chickens win condition?
to add on to this the chickens win condition is to be a last player standing in the final 3, it it can do anything until the final 3, if it and chicken becomes a random duck ( there has to be no ducks remaining) and if its in the final 2, it wins as its own. mind you this can be a apart of the duck team
Thanks lol I shoulda went into more detail but yeah thats what I was thinking
Owl duck
You can sense where live geese are (arrows sorta like the vulture's ability to see bodies, however, it has a cooldown)
You can kill but your votes will never be counted - no option to skip or vote
I think it would be better as a neutral role though
Cuckoo Goose
Using their, they ability can call a meeting twice per game without using the button or taking up emergency meetings
so chicken would be funny. you kill them they dont actually die but they can no longer do anything. running around....like a chicken with their head cut off
I have got idea for Medium Goose.
Seeing ghosts is a bad option and people don't like know the number of ghosts, so ...
What do you think of this possibility:
Once in 3 minutes during a meeting he may check the role of a one dead player.
Theyre already adding a role to do that
I like this. It better than the present one (medium)
Ok. But i prefer change the medium for something else anyway
They've said many times that the medium will be left how it is
We have an idea for a role that will be able to do something similar.
It's more on theme for its ability too đ Just wait, very soon.
Tracer Goose.
Once per game, place a tracer on someone. Be the only person to vote for them at the next meeting to see where they when the meeting was called.
Supply Goose
Once per game, can use its ability on a player. If that player had a limited use ability, they gain a use after the next meeting but don't know who the Supply Goose is. Supply Goose doesn't know if its ability worked, just that it was used, and can potentially help enemies.
(And now a bit of an enemy of that)
Robber Duck
Once per game, can use its ability on a player. If that player had a limited use ability, they lose a use after the next meeting but don't know who the Robber Duck is. Robber Duck doesn't know if its ability worked, just that it was used. If it dies, the player it robbed regains their use.
Emergency goose/duck
Goose that can call an emergency wherever around the map
This may not be done if a sabotage is going on or the kill falcon thing
Emergency duck
Can call 3 meetings all around the map
Devs can decide if this can or cannot be done while a sabotage is on but may not be done if kill falcon is on
Kill cooldown is 5 secs lower then a normal duck
Those 2 can only call meetings if the button is available
Good morning, Good Evening, Good Afternoon All,
Role Suggestion for Classic Plus:
Infected Duck - Infects a Goose but doesn't kill until 10 seconds later - Similar to Vampire
Medic Goose - Can cure the infect Goose within that time frame
scientist goose, abilities:can use their question mark button, when activated 4 things can happen: they get a kill button for 10 seconds, they die and everyone else near them will die too (because their invention explodes), they get teleported to a location of their choise, they get a super bounty (the person that kills the super bounty should get a gold coin since they are really hard to get) (cooldown should be 30-35-40-45 seconds since they can get some overpowered stuff but they can die aswell)
and the question mark button is an invention inventer (the invention inventer can be good and give buffs and such or they can turn evil and kill the scientist) i also think if there is atleast 1 basic goose in the lobby then they should be able to pick the invention inventer and become a scientist so the goose will have some chanse to become a bit more exciting
This seems WAAAY to complex to be a functional role
hope i fixed it
4 abilityâs is still too much, it should prob be one simple ish ability, if you wanna discuss more can we move to #876961085662560267
its not 4 abilities only one will happen so the scientist can just die when they press the button or recive a kill button, and its a high risk high reward scenario since you can get a kill button or a teleporting ability (which you will use immedeatly) or get a big target on your back with the gold coin or you can die by getting the bomb, its not really easy to understand but its not that hard to understand
Paranoid Goose
They have an icon by their abilities that shows a closed eye if no one is looking at them and an open eye if someone can see them, even if from a vent, closet, during an obscuring sabotage, or through a wall if Birdwatcher.
that would render snoop, mechanic and birdwatcher useless
Probably a good time to remind everyone with ideas to check out this guide to see whether your proposed roles are good fits for Classic +
It is pinned in this channel for easy reference
How so? Mind explaining in #876961085662560267
Puppet and puppet master duck or geese
They can swap positions and lose their ability if their counterpart dies
How about a Seagull roll that has a "Mine" button and steals someone's role. You can have them swap so that person is the seagull or just seagull does it once.
I think they said to not have roles that change team
They also said that if a role seemed interesting enough but doesn't fit into the standard game modes, it could potentially have a mode made specially for it
Apprentice Duck (Only allowed with 2+ ducks)
Starts out with no powers, but takes the role of the first duck to die with replenished uses if it had a limited use ability.
This actually has promise
Hacker Duck: Can't Vent. Special ability allows them to delay a sabotage they start by X seconds. Technician sees this from where you initiate it.
Idea is that you can make it look like you didn't start a sabotage if you're moving around.
Watcher Duck
Knows the locations of other ducks (including mimic?) at all times. Instead of one of the sabotages it can pull up a screen that lets it see everything in the area around other ducks, being able to swap between which duck it's looking at.
Double agent duck/goose
Initially a neutral role that chooses which side to join based on their first kill. If they kill a goose, they're a duck, if they kill a duck, they're a goose.
Cannot see other ducks, appears as a regular goose to ducks.
Cannot vent or use sabotages.
Must kill every 2 (?) minutes after a meeting otherwise their role is revealed to all players.
Once they choose a side, killing a team member will result in their own death, much like a sheriff.
Lyrebird (Neutral)
Able to select any player, then any room on the map the lyrebird's not in, to silence that player to normal proximity and make their voice be heard only to those in the selected room. If anyone is near the selected they have a button they can use to undo the lyrebird's effect. If they don't do this in x seconds, the lyrebird's power stops and they gain a point. If they gain x points they win.
(This is pretty long so sry)
Miner duck
Has the ability to place down 3 vents per game cooldown on placing 1 min
They can only vent with their own vents
Placing down a vent takes 3 secs staying still and pressing a button
Only ducks and the pigeon can go into those vents and they are only connected with their self (never connected with the main ones)
No restriction on placing a vent somewhere
The vent is invisible for everyone but ducks for the first 5 secs that it was placed and canât be used
(Idea from tou)
I like it but wouldn't it be obvious who they are when a vent appears next to them?
Bald Eagle -
Neutral-
At the beginning of the round the bald eagle gets given a target, there one goal is to try to get the target voted out, if there target is voted out they win, bald eagle can vent, hide and sabotage
flying goose: they can use their "fly" button to teleport somewhere on the map (after you press the button you need to have a 5-10-15 second wind up time) and by that i mean standing still so you cant be instantly cleared (and this can be a duck role too but its more risky that way) and you can fly 1-2-3-4 times per game (decided by lobby settings)
the human (neutral):they get 10-15 tasks, after they have done their tasks they unlock sabotages (the deadly ones like poison or fire) they do not end the game, however if the deadly sabotages have been sabotaged for atleast 30-40-50 seconds hen the human wins (hey steal the power from the gooses and go back to earth)
i dont know if this has been said but maybe a seeing role, you can see the position of other players on the map for a short amount of time
Mocking Bird (Neutral) They have the ability to use someone's role for a round but the resets the ability at the end of each meeting. If the mocking bird copies a killing role it gets two targets of people they didn't copy but a person they copied to kill becomes a hunter and can track them for 3 - 5 second with a 15 second cooldown
Hacker goose
They arenât affected by blind or colorblind voting for 3 rounds per game
Doesnât that instantly tell you who the falcon is?
I feel both Falcon and Spy are made useless via that tbh, since Falcon can't vote and you can just get everyone to vote someone else right away, and Spy couldn't do their thing without you calling them out for it easily. Plus any ploys to stack up votes on someone by ducks tends to get ruined.
Hen neutral role
Their goal is to protect 2 chicks. She dies when both of them die. She can kill twice and gets no penalty.
She wins by being the last alive with both of her chicks
terrorist duck: can place a bomb in a room of their choise (the bomb will appear as a sabotage to the terrorist only) they can activate it and after 15-20 seconds the bomb explodes killing everyone in that room which includes ducks neutrals and the terrorist duck too (they can have 1 bomb at a time, they can place no bombs when they are dead but they can activate a bomb if they have one). their second ability is to detonate themselves and everyone near them will die too (to prevent massive groups and to nerf pigeon a tiny bit),oh yeah and the bomb on the terrorist instantly explodes if they activate it. (if this seems too overpowered then one of the abilities can be deleted)
(Probably been said) Mayor role (a goose) that has 2 votes instead of 1.
There will be a politician goose in the next map
Being able to vote multiple times is a visually provable thing, which we've tried to steer away from
What about the poisoner duck. Got a inject button (like morphling) but when used after about 20 ish seconds they die (only way they can kill) (comes with a new death animation of the head dissolving then the body collapsing on the floor) other ducks will know who is poisoned. And the poisoner duck can only poison people every 40 seconds (default setting)
This might been an oddball role but the short sighted goose. The vision for this goose is where it canât see in front of it at a certain distance. But can see perfectly fine at longer distance. Say if the vision was set to 1. from in front of it to half the distance it canât see, and from 0.6 to 1 it can see. (Not sure why this would be added, but it can be a good fake role to claim if you were a duck and missed a body?)
What about a kamikaze type role but in a different aspect (or something else this is just a neutral role idea)
I don't know what it would be called but it would be a neutral role that has to do something in every room of the map it's on (it would probably take some time of being in that room to do it) and once every room of the map is done then the map explodes or something else (doesn't have to be that but it's just an idea template) and they win
the penguin: neutral, you need to complete your tasks and if you are still alive when 5 or less players are still alive, you win, your movement speed is 25-50% lower, you have 10-15 tasks, you can hide/snoop in a vent/closet for 10-15-20 seconds every 30 seconds, you have a special sabotage which blinds all the players (something to do with coldness) for 10-15 seconds and you have an ability for 5-10 seconds which doubles basic movement speed (you basicly slide)
Love sick love bird
He is a neutral role and only active when there are lovers in the game. He wins by killing the lovers
Dramatic goose
When killed, the killer leaves a trail of blood for a for a few steps
with how often the lovers die
i could just go afk for 60 seconds and i'd win the game
Hypnosis Duck - Can stand over a dead body once per game and after an amount of time and a mini game you will bring the goose back to life as a duck. (There will be an animation that the duck will do on top of the dead goose to show that they are currently in the process of hypnotizing.)
. @low verge
I did ask to read the pinned messaged before posting đ I strongly suggest it. It will help understand whats been suggested and what hasnt.
Secret fan goose. will be assigned a neutral role and if he wins he gets a bonus
Forensic Goose - once per game if you come across a body you have the ability to search it and get information of the killer off it by either location, color, role etc, whatever you developers deem worthy.
Bleach Duck
The Bleach Duck has an additional ability that allows them to bleach a nearby bird. This ability shares a cooldown with their kill ability.
Birds that are bleached will after the next meeting become a white color without a name for 2 rounds, making it difficult for geese to figure out who is who. Once 2 meetings have passed, they return back to their normal color unless they were bleached again.
If a bird that is bleached gets killed, then the body remains white and it wonât show what body got reported. If a Canadian is bleached and killed, the killer does not auto-report.
Cuckoo Bird - related to a swapper but ofc the power would be to strong. So weaknesses would be a detective can scan to see if you have quote on quote contaminated evidence (swapped) with a purple evil smiling_imp, sheriff can ofc kill you and u are also a target for spies.
Construction goose and destruction duck - the Construction goose can open only one locked door per round, fix Sabotages instantly, and fix anything the destruction duck has messed up. The destruction duck however can burst through walls (kills anyone close to these walls) with Sabotages making a loud boom to that side of the map, they have shorter cooldown on Sabotages along. The goal of these two is a chase on one to enjoys destruction of property and fixing it until they figure out who the other one is because Construction goose should be the only one able to see their sabotages.
veteran goose: after using their ability they gain a killing aura for 5-10 seconds and anyone who kills the veteran goose during that time dies
arsonist duck: they can douse people after they doused atleast 1 person they can ignite (they aslo have a 5 second lower kill cooldown), they douse by pressing the kill button, when they press the ignite button they kill EVERYONE doused, the bodies also cant be reported or eaten (since they got burnt to a crisp), in a meeting they can douse 1 person, you can only ignite twice per game, if they have ignited twice they can kill like regular ducks but they have a 20-25-30 second longer kill cooldown
So they can kill anyone they want over some time
Swan: immune to death in first round
Grave-keeper Goose: You can check for a dead geese/duck role at meetings, but you shall abstain your vote when doing so (Not even skipping; you are secretly voting for that dead one, doesn't shows as a vote)
Prideful goose
They do their tasks quicker than normal geese and gain a bonus when finishing first
hacker duck: can instantly activate sabotages, has a smaller sabotage cooldown (45-50 seconds), takes off of 10-15 seconds in deadly sabotages if they activated it (except in the 30 second ones it only decreases thoose by 5 seconds), (this ducks sabotages cannot be tracked by technician 5 times), has a 5-10 second longer kill cooldown
The judge, has an option during a meeting to vote one specific person out. it vetos all other votes
this. i like this
This is a role that has way too much power and eliminates 100% of the fun for another role.
It needs a downside
Crow - Role: Neutral. Cannot be active with Dodo. Objective: Participate in X amount of successful vote outs (not yourself).
Just idea that came to me, dunno if it could work. Was thinking of a different take on being careful with mindless voting out. Could cause shakeups in doubt for those who are leading the deduction.
Crows are communicative birds so the idea was that they sway the remaining crew (and even non-crew) to their whims.
I think we get people posting the same roles over and over should there be a chat to put ideas that should not be posted
Once per game would be a downside to the judge
It needs a negative, as in If it kills a goose it reveals itself to the ducks. It's still too strong.
Guard goose every meeting you can choose someone to protect he won't die for no reason (except meetings) you can't protect the same person in a row if it's a duck or neutral twice in a row the guard dies
lucky goose: can avoid being killed 1 time, has 25% to do tasks instantly, if they vote out a duck then they recive a gold coin (you know the hard to earn currency)
Trickster Duck
Can Places holograms on top of dead players bodies, making it look like they are still alive.
Holograms of the dead player won't show they are holograms unless the alive player goes right beside it. allowing players to still report.
The trickster duck can also place idle holograms of any player In the game if they are alive.
There will be a limit and a recharge timer.
In which a duck can kill a goose, the tricker duck can place a hologram and they can frame a other live player to get voted out.
Toucan (Neutral Role) (Bird name is not final)
Can convert other birds into Toucans, can only be done once per Toucan in a game. Wins by outnumbering the other birds. May add more to the idea. Seems very unbalanced atm but there could be a way to fix it. Cooldown increases as more people get turned into a Toucan.
Another idea: Can vote on who to turn into a cult member during a meeting, deciding maybe it's restricted to only finding a body rather than calling a meeting. The amount of cult members could be capped at say 3, and maybe they can do some special ability once they reach the max cap. Maybe has unique interactions with dead bodies?
Phoenix: After death, provided their body has not been eaten by cannibal or vulture, they will respawn for one additional round but cannot call meeting or speak when meeting is called. if they finish tasks during this respawn they win.
Ooh okay I understand what you mean by downside now. What about if it's kinda like a sheriff. So if the judge vetos anything but a neutral or duck they die at the next meeting?
Edit. Or like sheriff if they vote out a goose they die instantly too
It's too strong still, it's basically a sheriff that gets a free round to play after their mistake. They also don't need to hunt out their target and they can veto an entire vote đ
what if it was simply a goose that could cancel someone being voted out once?
We do have some concepts for vote manipulation
being able to secretly save someone is very powerful but it can work if balanced well
So here's what we've come up with for ideas for The Judge role.
- are role ideas - are downsides:
+Once per game they get a vote that vetos all others
+The Judge gets one extra vote (2 instead of 1) or a button like assassin for their second vote
+Get a chance to save someone from being voted out (cancel votes)
+They can stack up votes (like mayor in au)
+Can either veto or save someone
+Like Vigilante they get a free shot
+Reset voting process (gives everyone a second chance to vote
+If there is a tied vote, the vote goes for whomever the judge voted
-Once ability used ducks know who judge is
-If judge vetos a goose they die too
-using ability causes everyone to have an extra task
-using ability causes judge to have a bounty on their head
-using ability messes with cooldowns, for example geese have longer cooldowns and ducks have shorter
-using ability decreases sab countdowns (both to use and while being used for example if I duck called the fire the timer to get that fire out would be shorter and/or the countdown to use the sabs are lower
AND MAYBE IT COMES WITH A GAVEL KILL ANIMATION TOO
just to clarify, it doesn't get all of the above. More like every + is one idea for a positive, and every - is one idea for a negative
-Once ability used ducks know who judge is
in my eyes, this already makes it not a viable role
if you're curious about some of the factors we look at
this is a useful document
this was actually just your idea i put in as an idea, these are just possibilities
i dont think i suggested that, and if i did, i'd like to let past herbert know he sucks
Are there any plans to add modifiers that work as additions to roles or is that not something you want in the game?
no current plans
Dumb idea: Decoy goose (working title): A goose that has a decoy of themselves for a period of time. could only work once or have a cooldown. (an animation of it could be laying an egg or something). killing the decoy would indeed reset the kill cooldown of the duck that "kills it". the decoy, of course, would likely remain stationary in the area the goose placed it
Okay another idea, it has to do with the voting, they can see who everyone is voting for, but they can only vote themselves? its like a counterpart for the spy
Wild goose: once they have finished all their tasks they can kill once.
Rooster: can call one meeting from anywhere on the map without going to the button/bell
Mother Duck: Can have (invisible, theoretical) baby ducks follow someone and constantly tell the Mother Duck of their location on the minimap, as well as temporarily mark people in the line of sight of the person itâs tracking. Expires after 8 seconds and cools down at the speed of kill cooldown. Basically, lets you put a tracker on someone.
Might actually work better as a goose.
And for wording it in two sentences,
Mark players with baby ducks. Marked players are tracked.
explosive's master goose: twice per game when they are alive in a meeting they can select the "bomb" button and who they vote will have the bomb, its basicly hot potato but after 30 seconds or a meeting gets called the person who has the bomb dies, if a goose dies (from the bomb) they recive an x (after two x's this goose explodes themselves out of guilt, they know if they killed a goose), if they kill a duck they recive an extra bomb if they kill a neutral nothing happens, if they have 0 bombs then... they will become a normal goose, if a person gets killed by the bomb the body cannot be reported or eaten (since it got blown to bits), (if this is a bit underpowered/rng based then after 12.5 seconds after a meeting (because they can just kill anyone if its 0 or 5 seconds) this goose will have an instant explosion button aka they press the button and the person who has the bomb instantly dies), the explosives master goose cannot die by a bomb (since they can easily defuse it and it will use the bomb)
Inspector goose: Can investigate 1 Vent/hiding spot so see if anyone is in there. Won't be able to see anyone in there but know that there is someone in there.
I like the concept of checking the hiding spots but how do you think it will be beneficial if you can only check once and not be able to know who it is
I took it as you can inspect hiding spots with an ability on a cooldown, which is still a decent goose idea imo
Well they said "1 vent/hiding spot" but I agree, if it was a cooldown ability it could be good
yes it was what i was going for. And it is also to know if someone is watching you or like in the vent in transit
@floral kite my friend came up with this idea
communist duck
at the beggining for the audio queue it plays the soviet anthem
once a round with a 20 second cooldown it can steal a goose or ducks abilities and share them
Let's leave nationalistic stereo-types out of the chat please â¤ď¸
camo duck that can kill and become invisible for 5 seconds if standing still
Swans
Neutral Role
Swans are very territorial, to the point they will kill others but have a primarily vegetarian diet, despite being omnivores.
After every meeting (or at the start of the game), the swan is given someone to protect. This is shown during the meeting and in-game similarly to how Lovers are displayed. They have the ability to cover someone in protective grace for 7 seconds, killing someone that has grace will result in you being murdered, regardless of distance, by the swan. The swan wins by successfully protecting someone or by having x amount of people they protect survive the round. X being the amount of ducks there are in the game, unless there is one, in which x is 2.
I had a swan idea but it wasnât quite this elaborate.
Owls
Neutral Role
Owls have very inconsistent symbolism across cultures, unlike many other animals. Frequently, being an omen of misfortune and death, but other times, symbolizing wisdom and new life.
Normally, this role can do absolutely nothing. But if the owl finds a body, it can sacrifice it, making the body completely disappear, and have a visible change in appearance, making it very obvious what role they are. However, their movement speed is increased moderately and they can now kill with a very short kill cooldown. Wins by being the last alive.
Emu:
Like ducks, but can instantly kill any Australian geese in the game
Magpie - neutral role
Creates a nest and lays eggs in that nest, then has to protect that nest for the duration of the game. If the geese, ducks or other neutrals find it the magpie dies.
Basically, create nest, find nest, die
did you miss the part were is says magpie has to protect the nest?
Didn't say it wasn't the enemies who died
So. Whatâs the win condition?
Crow or rooster: is assigned a target to get voted out and if their target gets voted out they win ( like dodo but instead of putting suspicion on themselves they put it on someone else). They can call a meeting from anywhere on the map once. Poltergeist goose: a goose that can do sabotage once after death in attempt to hinder ducks
Serviceman Duck
-They can kill snoop and mechanic geese while they are hiding if they are in the same closet/vent as that goose
-They can hide two bodies per game in closets/vents IF they are near the vent or closet
Radar Goose
-On their map they can see approximately where everyone is, it displays dots where people are but doesnt specifically say who is in the room
- Use for 5 seconds cooldown is 20
Poacher Duck
-They can set a trap in a body twice per game and whatever goose approaches the body will die(vultures are unaffected). They can vent
-When the trap is triggered, the goose who died will be displayed with a beartrap caught on them
Okay. So put this in two sentences.
EDIT: LMAO I DIDNT READ IT I THOUGHT ALL OF THAT WAS ONE IDEA
how do i do that to 3 different ideas that all have 2 sentences ??
( Your swan idea ironically does have more than 2 sentences đ )
My bad on that, also, Iâm just hyperspecifying my ideas to make the idea more concise. They should be able to be simplified.
Mother and Baby geese, like the lovers they must survive together , if the baby dies the mother dies too from a broken heart, if the mother dies the baby doesnt so its like a 50/50 whether you kill them both or just one
Owl - Neutral role. Kill cooldown is doubled like professional, everytime they kill they camouflage and turn invisible for a short duration to escape. Extended vision then other gooses when nights are out but can not completely see. To make bird watcher more useful when they use their ability only they can see owl's when they are invisible
Win conditions are to be the last one standing.
Politician - Duck. You select a person that will die if you get the majority of votes that round, you can select a new player each round, until you get the majority of votes.
Example I choose red, and I get voted out but instead of me dying, red will die. Then I can't use my power again.
The bird that was killed from the Politician duck during a vote will get a special indication instead of a red cross.
An Eagle, they look and seem like a regular goose, for them to win tho they have to be the last survivor and only gain a kill button if the falcon countdown comes on
That seems incredibly weak and likely dull, since it's a role with nothing to do and it only can ever win if Falcon is in game and gets that far... without that it has 0 chance, which doesn't seem fun to play when you know loss is basically confirmed.
That doesnt seem distinguished enough from falcon..the Falcons win condition is survival. It would take away the novelty of the falcon role
Yea I realized that after I posted it. I find the eagle role would be similar to the falcon since they are both predators. I just like eagles lol
Copy goose: A goose that can borrow the ability of another goose (either with cooldown or once per game/round idk). They do this blindly so if the goose they try to borrow from a plain goose then they get nothing. *credit for this idea goes to my nephew đ
owl: can bring bak dead ppl infinitly and with no cooldown, also super ranged kills
THIS IS A JOKE COME ON GUYS lmao
So this minus the resurrection could be fun. can kill one person from anywhere in the room
Trapper Goose
Once per round can drop a beartrap, anyone (even the Trapper Goose) who walks over it will be stunned for a couple seconds (or perhaps until they complete a task to open it?), and the Trapper Goose knows when it activates. Basically would help them flee if they thought they were being chased, or they could trap closets/vents to try and catch ducks.
(Quick question is the bot actually automatic or do y'all control the bot to put out messages)
Yes
They are in control
Now who is they?
Investigator goose
They can check any dead corpse they come across once per game, making the corpse impossible to report.
When they check a body, their check button gets replaced with the targets names and 3 symbols of the roles it could be. The symbols always are random, its what the bird is, a killing/good role and a neutral role.
Example: you check a body and it comes up as silencer, sheriff, and vulture.
Gives the goose the choice to check the body and get an idea for who's dead, and maybe catch out a killer if they call a 1 of a kind role, or if they should play it safe and report
I'm not sure I understand this BUT it would be could if there was an Investigator role as a counterpart to the Assassin. A goose that could guess the role at the body and if they guess right the killer dies. This could also be a good neutral role. Like "Albatross" or something
Hey, not sure if it has been mentioned before but maybe cool role idea is a doctor who can resurrect someone if they been dead no longer than 10 secs or can give someone a shield so they cant be killed for some time.
If this is a joke. haha. if not scroll a little ways above and read the bot
Hunter goose: can lay decoys and notify him it was killed but not who did it
Has a guard role been suggested? If not: Guard- a limited number of times per game, you interact with your crewmembers (similar to a duck), but you give them a shield that protects them and uses a kill up from the Ducks. You can see who has been protected in the voting screen if the protection has been used
Thereâs literally a Bodyguard goose..
Trapper Duck: Can lay a limited number of traps, say, 2 per game. Traps are removed when a meeting is called. If a goose walks into the trap, they are stuck and have 10 seconds before they die. If another bird finds them in this time, they may set them free by walking on top of them, saving them from the trap. The trap is destroyed in this process.
Neutral role Blood Pheasant (placeholder name, hereafter referred to as BP).
Idea:
Neutral role that collects bodies to make a nest. Win by having a big nest.
In game has a button that will either "pick up" a body if not holding one, or drop it if it is. May have an indicator showing where bodies are. Wins by having a certain number of bodies placed close together (formula similar to vulture, but smaller amount because the bodies don't permanently disappear.)
Bodies that are being held can't be reported.
Neutral Role / Flamingo /You Can Get Over Walls /How To Win As Flamingo???
Can you guys add the name of the other lover at the beginning of the game that way we at least know who we're looking for at the start of a game?
Not knowing adds a layer of anxiety which ends up being more fun. Finding out in the first meeting we found was also more fun. The sense of finding them in game was more enjoyable than just telling players.
The anxiety you feel at the start when you see you're a lover goose/duck mixed with the relief when you spawn with your lover is like an emotional co.cktail... I love it!
Puppeteer Duck
Skill: Attach the strings / Control
He can attach the strings to the selected player (1 person at a time).
Then, at a later time, he can take control of this person for 10 seconds. The victim doesn't know who's controlling him.
Puppeteer Duck cannot kill by himself, he can only kill by controlled characters.
Investigator goose, can see footprints but they disappear after a bit
Have you guys considered this role from Town of Us?
We have! We will carefully examine most role ideas to consider their subsequent effect on the overall balance of classic mode. Please check out #850063497877913630 to see some ideas that we are tinkering with.
New neutral role: Platypus
I'm less concerned with the actual mechanic as just having a platypus character. Maybe they can morph but not kill?
The anxiety is not knowing where your lover is, not not knowing who it is. @mint gale
Nooo no tag them
Thereâs a chance you spawn with your lover. I think heâs saying itâs more fun trying to find where they are AND who it is
Make it an option to toggle it, at the end of the day it really changes nothing and some prefer it the other way
All you need to do for it should be adding a new string and add another menu option. And if we are gonna compare things, not knowing who the other lover is is like not knowing your bodyguard target
if you spawn with your lover and a third person spawns in with two others you've basically given them a high probability chance of knowing you're the lovers.
If that player happens to be a duck, welllp GG
We don't want to start letting people meta game with mechanic design flaws
They also want to make the menu more simple than it is and ended up taking options away but many people havenât noticed since in reality it just made it more messy
Yeah every update we take options out and no one even notices.
we took out the super birdwatcher role and no one noticed
he had laser eyes and everything
could we hav an option 2 toggle vulture and falcon 2gether or apart 4 the exchange of making them hav a goal of either more bodies or a defence sort-of thing (body guard like)
Actually, I noticed and I told people, but no one knew before it got patched xD
Can there be a Goose role that has the ability to fix the Duck sabotages and the only way they can fix a specific sabotage it has to be triggered by a Duck then repaired by a Goose first. The Ducks would then have to set the sabotage back up again to that sabotage the Goose fixed. The Goose would have to be careful repairing the sabotage otherwise Ducks may kill them or theyâd look suspicious doing what looks like a Duck task and could potentially be voted out for it. It could be done multiple times. It keeps things fair for both Ducks and Geese alike.
Sticky Goose
When the Sticky Goose votes for a bird, the vote stays for the rest of the game. Meaning that if you vote for Bird A meeting 1, they will for the rest of this game always have 1 additional vote on them. This stacks, so if you voted for Bird A 3 times and then vote them again in the fourth meeting, they will have 4 votes on them. If the Sticky Goose dies, the votes disappear.
This is basically a license to kill people
Trapper is a neutral role that has no way to win but they use their traps to do stuff like slow geese down or maybe be able to kill geese with traps. They could have a way to win idk of any. Their traps also works on ducks and other roles
Stealing a role from a different game,
Neutral - Crow
Before rounds they use their ability on someone, and the next meeting their vote goes on that person and their vote during the meeting is voided. They win if the person they used their ability on is voted out.
Idk how this would go with the dodo
Have you guys considered a type of trapper duck?
We have! It's been suggested several times. The idea could work, but as it currently stands, the role would be difficult to pull off in our existing maps. Having not been made with this in mind , the hallways and spaces in the existing three maps are a bit tight, allowing for these traps to zone out entire areas. Consider the bridge leading to comms in SS Goose, or the teleporter in Nexus colony, for example.
sounds a bit like the executioner
yes
I actually stole it from a game that doesn't have an executioner though
it's called crow in the other game too
I thought it would fit kinda nicely in this game
So not town of Salem
we have considered this idea many months ago
there isn't inherently anything wrong with it, but i don't like where it would push the game
"The cultist"
Neutral
Goal : Sacrifice 2 targets at the chosen Area, and survive to open the portal.
The cultist is a killing role, its given 2 targets,
it cannot kill any body thats not its targets.
the cultist is given a random room [CANNOT BE HALLWAY], where it must kill its targets to complete the ritual, when the cultist sacrifices its 2 targets in the room, the cultists job is done, all it needs to do is make sure it lives until the sacrifice is complete, this causes every player to be alerted to the cultists presence.
the cultist can now freely kill anybody, but now has a glowing red halo and glowing red eyes, also its kill cooldown is longer then normal kill cooldowns [by like 3 seconds], the ritual once activated, takes normally a minute or a minute and a half to complete, once the cultist survives all that. it needs to make its way back to the sacrifice room, and then open the portal, this causes an instant victory for the cultist.
**TL:DR **
Kill 2 players in a specific area ---> survive ----> return to open the portal to win
if its target is voted off or killed, it gains a new target, regardless of role,
spooky dramatic effects
when both sacrifices happen, a red pulse ripples throughout the map from where the sacrifice room is, and Maybe everything becomes a new tint of red or something [besides birds]
Phantom Duck
Has the ability to become a ghost for a very limited amount of time. Can not join ghost chat. Can not enter vents or hide.
As a ghost, same abilities as ghost (except chat). Can be detected by Medium.
Coming back from ghost can be fatal if not on walkable paths. Leaves no reportable body.
Hey! I have some ideas for roles:
Goose
Body reader: You can know the role of 1 body per game;
Vote reader: You can know who everyone voted (only with vote reveal color blind and blind);
Role thief: In the first round, you can steal the role of a goose, the player will become a normal goose, if you try to steal a non goose you will become a normal goose.
Duck
Blocker: You block the role of a player for the next round;
Trapper: You can trap 2 tasks, the first player that interacts with receives a skillcheck, and he will die if miss;
Explosive: You can place a bomb in an area of the map that will explode in 10 seconds, the players will know the area, and if stay in that area they die.
Neutral
Mom bird: you can put eggs around the map, the other players can destroy the eggs, if you have 3 at the same time you win (the eggs don't despawn and can put one again in 20 seconds);
Gambler: In discussion time, you will bet who will die next (voting or kill), if you guess correctly 2 times in a roll you win. You only skip.
In the manor there's a little shed. I was thinking a snoop goose can hide in there, but also ducks can call a sabotage on the shed where whoever hides in there gets eaten by the creature inside
Bird Caller (Goose) Can call meetings twice from any location except can't use normal meeting button. Ducks can identify by noticing 2x meetings or the fact they weren't at the normal calling spot.
Mechanic duck
They will see any vent or snoop place glowing red if a duck is in there at the moment and will see it glow blue if the mechanic or pigeon is in there at that moment
Duck anti screaming: remove all the uses to the button of 2 players
Paranoid Goose:
No matter the settings, the Paranoid Goose can only use the emergency meeting once but they can use it anywhere on the map.
This gives away their role.
what if instead, once per game during a meeting that goose can null any votes on a player of their choosing (like assassin) except that they can no longer vote for that person the rest of the game (others still can) -- Imagine everyone voting for obvious dodo, but you can act quick and null it. -- Maybe you'd have to guess their role correctly too?
Vote manipulation is a powerful thing. You'd need to be careful with that. Especially if they can just negate a vote on themselves. One danger you have to consider is "can this be used to confirm someone's role in the middle of a meeting"? If a duck has accused someone of being a duck, but the person they accuse can just prove they're the one that can manipulate votes in the meeting, well, I guess it sucks to be the duck in that case, but it makes it harder to feel comfortable trying to frame people. Consider how the fact that the assassin even might exist can sometimes cause geese to pause before claiming.
which is why the assassin only having 2 shots makes no sense
hence once, someone would just need to call a meeting and revote
For most people, once is enough to know the vote manipulator is verified due to them proving themselves in front of everyone. If the people you're playing with call a meeting to vote out the vote manipulator goose after they have proven their innocence, well, it might be time to find another lobby.
Any role that allows a goose to prove to the entire lobby that they are a goose is POWERFUL. Yes, the mechanic can jump into a vent... But so can ducks and pigeons. The medium can claim how many dead they see... But the Vulture can guess this as well, and a duck can just tell people "someone just died" long after they killed someone.
If there were to be a role that can confirm itself, that would prolly be best left as its own ability. Say, a Captain role, a well known and well respected Goose that everyone knows is a Goose just by looking at them. Their sole power is everyone can see their role both in game and in meetings. The mere fact that you could know someone is a goose is rather strong by itself. And that's why roles with abilities that could be used to prove someone is a goose might need to be approached with caution, or possibly with a duck or third party version as well so that it doesn't really clear them.
You know you could just let them read this and move on, instead of insisting on negating other people here.. Kinda not what they want to happen.
We have a role discussion thread, if we see discussion in here we largely ignore it and advise others to do so as well đ
This is a place to voice your ideas, however we recommend reading the pinned article at the top so you're not just rambling on about a tracker/docter role.
Was my idea against the game guidelines?
No
3rd Wheel (maybe named Cuckoo?) Win objective is to kill one of the lovers, but does not know who they are. They get a single shot like Sheriff and die if they hit somebody else.
I don't think the lovers need more adversity at this point
Camo-duck
Invisible while not moving. Can not use vents.
Wouldn't this be the chameleon ?
I used the wrong animal, yes. đ
This is actually an idea that adds to the demolition duck, the role is still the same, but in order for the geese to defuse the bomb, thereâs 3 wires (red, blue and green, or maybe some other random colors if you feel like it) thereâs 3 different outcomes when you cut a wire, the bomb is defused and nobody dies, the bomb explodes and kills everyone in a radius (not ending the game though) or the bombs timer gets faster. No affect is linked to a certain color wire.
Demo(litionist) Duck could almost be a neutral role. The bomb exploding would be its own clear condition... đ¤ I mean, I would assume like "Imposters" in "Among Us" the ducks want to take over the ship (or manor). Not blow it to smithereens killing everything on board. However, a demolitionist in a neutral role would want no one to claim the ship. Just blow the whole thing up killing everything. So, in a way, it'd be a good neutral role (and then both duck and goose would want to diffuse that bomb.
It was explained on the lore questions that the ducks mission is to stop the geese any way possible, and on the story trailer on the steam page it shows their mission is to stop the ship not take it over, I assume the only one who wants to take it over would be the falcon since his win condition is to be the last one standing, so if the explosion actually destroyed the ship it would still counts as a win for the ducks
So vote manipulator goose gets like an assassinâs click thing but it vetos and overwrites all the votes and who ever they pick gets voted out(only use once tho) president goose might be a good name, but then has a regular vote after the use
Also could be called overlord goose
Ok, unique twist on owl that isnât just âthey see in the darkâ.
Owls are wise right? So my idea is that the owl has guess a certain number of peopleâs roles in a game to win, number can probably be changed in settings. The menu would be like the assassins menu but with added duck icons. The owl also gets one kill every time he guessed right, just to take out anybody you just canât guess the role of. If the role guess is right you also get an extra guess that meeting, if itâs wrong you loose the ability to guess for the rest of that meeting
Drinking game: Take a shot every time the word guess is said
ostriches, the only thing they do is they can run really fast and peck at people. so a super fast killer.
What about a Poultrygeist/Poltergoose role? They would be a regular crewmate in life, but if they die, they would have the ability to posses a living character for 5 seconds and perform a kill. Thought it would be a neat way to use a discruntled ghost. They could use it to try and kill their killer, or perhaps just take out their frustration on the living in general...
How about a vengeful duck that when voted out can bring one player down with them as a last resort similar to assassin but requires you to be voted out first
Phanto-duck (revised Phantom Duck to make less complicated)
Can phase and fly through 1 wall. Can not use vents. Invisible to everyone mid-phase.
I think we could revise this role as a chicken, the poultry-geist, like I referred on trickortreats, but associate chickens as hired help for mission, they work for the ducks as paid hired killers. Also Chickens could be oriental. Japanese (not trying to offend anyone), wouldn't be cool if the ducks hired ninjas?
KEVIN!!! Role: Goose
Can sabotage one vent per game. Will kill duck/mechanic if entered or exited. (Obviously, not able to be used on Mallard Manor as there are no vents).
The Supervisor Role: Goose
Can take a task(s) from other Geese if the Supervisor's tasks are done. Can "fire" Geese for not doing tasks (sticking them in a neutral role they can not win the game with) and take the tasks him/herself.
Seeker Duck: if snoop and pigeon or maybe their own teammates if they want to hide in a closet, vent, or bush. The seeker duck is the only thing in this game that can kill them. The kill button will not light up so you won't be alerted if you can kill them-you ja e to guess and if you misfire you stab yourself and die so you have to be sure. This role will keep snoops from just hiding in front of people and actually try to be sneaky.
Expanding on the Chicken hired killer - Ninja: Only available to Chicken. Ninjas are stealth killers, they can't hide or use vents but in exchange if any Geese or any other bird is killed near a hiding spot or vent by the Ninja the body is automatically hidden inside, the only giveaway is the small puddle of blood near the vent or hiding spot. Ducks and Mechanic Goose that can enter in those spots can find the bodies and report it.
Trapper Duck v2: The trapper duck can trap tasks but only do so a certain amount of times per meeting and each meeting its reset. so the kills can come from both luck of the task and them killing. though after killed the trapper can still trap but only one task at a time. the kill is if the goose (or unfortunate duck that has a fake task there unless alerted to it) finishes the task they will get killed. usually by explosion or Jack(with a knife) in the box style.
Trapper Duck idea number 398:
The Trapper Duck is able to place a visible trap down underneath them, which will arm itself 2 seconds after the Trapper Duck moves off of it. The Trapper Duck can have up to 2 traps active which last between rounds, but it shares a cooldown with the kill button. If a bird walks into a trap, it is visible that the trap killed them.
Essentially, this allows you to block certain routes or get a sneaky lights kill when they canât see the trap. You only have 2 charges for the entire game, so putting the traps around corners might net a kill against a careless bird. But Ducks and yourself can also end up dying to them. The traps are visible so you can get caught placing them and other birds have a chance to react.
Stalker Duck has 1 obsession/Target that he must keep alive and stalk for a special kill đ Probably not realistic l, but after watching the new Halloween movie I'm high on Michael Myers lmfao đ
Snowy Egret
This solo is completely invincible, even to lynching. Kills attempted upon it will just be wasted. A random regular goose will be given a one use spear at the start of the game that they will be notified is the only way to kill the egret, and they can use it to kill once. If the goose uses the spear on the egret, then it will die. The egret wins if the goose with the spear uses it on a player that isn't the egret, or dies.
(This role basically makes it a tad riskier to kill geese since they may have the spear, but also it can often be easy to figure out who the egret is and if one is in game since the goose can just say they have the spear, becoming safe from all harm. Of course, not all who say this are being honest...)
we do have something in mind similar to this for a future map
But what if the duck was gonna kill someone but they managed to be far will it only be on the vent and bush or just anywhere?
I forgot u can move in vents, this is 100% on Manor but something different might be the case on vents- maybe it shouldn't kill you but your kill cooldown resets.
Turkey Goose- If they call dinner served they must get a duck out or get cooked. basically convince everyone to vote for someone or get cooked if they guess a goose they still get cooked!
that would destroy the aspect of discussion, if you force anyone to get voted out every meeting you are pretty much making everyone avoid meeting time, when meeting time is used on several different situations as refreshing kill CD, nullifying traps, denying vulture their meal or confirming if any geese is out or not.
ricochet goose - when killed ingame the person that killed this goose gets killed after 15-20-30 seconds without any meetings being called (if a meting gets called the killer lives), if killed in a meeting the person they voted for dies too, if they skip and gets killed in a meeting no one else will die
The Martyr - Basically is like the Detective Goose but everyone will see instead, it will reveals ones true nature at the cost of the goose's life. Works like a kill attack but its the Goose who dies, it doesn't reveal other geese roles even if they are lovers with a duck, but if you are any other bird type your color tag will change accordingly. "With the ultimate sacrifice comes the ultimate reward" and yes the ability is completely wasted if you use it on a Goose, since it won't do nothing.
Photographer Duck:
Duck with the ability to camera flash anyone in a 20Âş cone working similar to how the birdwatchers cone does. When struck, anyone caught in the middle of it is blinded for 3 seconds and there is no animation indication for who was the one responsible, the ability has a 35 second cooldown.
An addendum to Martyr to make it more fair for other Birds, the Martyr's power is based on the completion of his tasks, no task done effects only last for 30 secs, half of tasks done 2 minutes, all tasks done until next meeting. after next meeting if not voted out effect is lost.
I don't see that being the case if you make where they are wrong they get thrown out instead of the goose. Its only for sure if your willing to cook yourself to call a meeting. It was mainly a role to target ducks like the ducks have with assign role. It more like a sacrifice if you have solid evidence if you use it wrong you lose yourself in that like if people don't believe you you get cooked yourself type role
sniper duck: can choose to kill someone anywhere on the map twice, if they choose to snipe then their cooldown will be doubled or tripled for their next cooldown (the sniper cant double kill for example: snipe and muder someone next to them), they can hide (snoop/vent) and when they picked the snipe button they cannot move, when the sniper shoots someone everyone hears a gunshot
but that's not really any different from any goose role, except with an additional downside. if you're a goose making a claim and people don't believe you, you'll probably die
The idea is good, but you can bring it to realism. For example, the role is not called a sniper, but a "sniper's assistant" and he will only be on the map with a mansion.
A sniper's assistant can approach a person and "put a mark on him" (this moment needs to be thought over in more detail). When a person with a "mark" goes outside (fishing or the bottom of the map) the sniper will be able to see him and shoot. As an option, not to immediately kill such a goose, but after a certain time on the street (for example, 5 seconds). A sniper also needs time to aim.
If the sniper did not make a shot before the meeting, then the "mark" returns and restores the ability charge (if you adhere to the condition that the sniper can make 2 shots)
P.S
So far, it all looks raw and requires more detailed study, but as food for thought there is a place to be.
P.P.S
I hope that you will understand my thought. I don't know English very well, so I use a translator
ever thought of a ghost role where in order to win you must be killed then do all your tasks but you can be found and if "killed" again you are out i saw that mod forget what the role was called
Imagine a duck with a long kill cd, but they can only communicate with the dead - they can't see living chat or hear living proxy while alive -- they also are muted so nobody can hear them --- If the dead talk too much he knows who to kill, but can't tell his ducks. --- When killed they can chat as normal in death proxy / death chat --- this role could be duck blind and accidentally be able to duck kill as if mimic were active
Would it be possible to have a goose role that works similar to spy duck, who can discover others' roles? I don't know how balanced that would be, but I can see room for it in the meta.
Might be useful for you to check out the pinned document
We do have a role in mind that does this in a fashion, investigating dead bodies to see what their roles were
In general it'd otherwise be hard to balance since it violates a general design principle of classic plus where you have the ducks be a (mostly) informed minority vs the unintormed geese majority
OK, fair enough about the geese being kept in the dark while the ducks hold the most information. I knew it would have to be really hard to balance, but I was just curious. The dead body thing might be interesting: get to them before the vulture, and a reason to delay on reporting them.
the reason why the hypothetical coroner goose works is that the ability to investigate dead players is somewhat helpful
but not incredibly game shifting like being able to investigate a living person
Cupid Goose: put two players in love and wins with lovers (taken from a different social-deduction game "Agrou")
That have in a game I've played called (in my language) "Sleepy village"
Grave Robber Goose: Goose can choose to vote a dead Teammate instead to find out dead teammates role for the next meeting. (Nothing OP and probably wouldnt be that hard to code. Itd work like a spy. Itd be better then Medium or Birdwatcher. But probably no where as liked as Sheriff or Vigilante)
If you wish to discuss someone's role idea please take it to #876961085662560267
hacker duck: while in a meeting they can steal someone's vote (they do not have a vote so they can only vote once, which is the stolen vote), once per game they can turn a goose role into a normal goose, they turn into a goose (neutral just turns into an other neutral role) in the meeting tho so it isnt easy to say who is the hacker
one of my friends had an idea of like a pheonix like role, basically when this player dies they revive after 10 seconds with a kill cooldown that only lasts 15 seconds after that. Your goal is to be the last survivor. if this player is voted out they will not revive. if their body is reported they will not revive.
I made 2 versions of this goose, as I felt they could both work, this is the eavesdropper/tracker goose
The eavesdropper goose can plant a bug on a person once per game and hear everything they are saying, along with anybody else in the same room, the voices will have a slight static over it, just so you can tell your hearing the people talking over your bug and not people in the room, and once per round they can place a bug in a room and hear anything happening in that room. This goose can only appear in private games, unless you guys decide to add prox chat to publics đ
The other goose is the tracker goose, this goose is the same as the eavesdropper goose, however instead of the bug listening in on prox chat conversations, will track the location of a bird, or any bird in a room, same thing, one bird bug per game, one location bug per round, you will NOT be notified if your tracked target dies, and any bodys will just look like standing still birds
genius goose: when they get half of their tasks done in the next meeting they will have a row or column selected, one of the people in that row/column is a duck, when they get all of their tasks done they get the other row/column to reveal the duck, cannot be assassinated, after done with tasks he can vote twice in meetings
Canadian Duck? when they kill they self report?
lol
Crow - can copy the role of the person they sample every round. Can use that role's ability once per round. Example: If they copy a killing role, they can kill once. Good counter to Falcon
Wouldnât this be the Canadian goose but more unfortunate? Most roles have at least some sort of positive to it
probably a joke suggestion
Yea, someone said Canadian âduckâ in a game and I was like âwhat? They report their own kill?â
Any thoughts on a duck that has multiple votes?
I could see why a goose shouldn't but it might fit a duck role
One vote per kill doesn't seem right
@crystal trellis maybe the duck could get an extra vote per kill?
What if I manage to kill 5 people within the first 2 rounds? Iâd then most likely be able to vote out anyone Iâd please as long as the entire lobby doesnât vote collectively (which hardly happens)
Ermmm good point. Their votes reset to one after each meeting? I guess similarly to the pigeons sneezes đ¤
Could be a gatherer duck or a collector duck idk
Even a single additional vote can mean the difference between a win or loss for ducks, so giving them more than 2 votes is excessive.
shouldn't all of this go to role discussion? I thought here was just to expose the idea, anything else was to be done on the other channel...
Cheater Duck: Normal Duck abilities vent/snoop, regular kill timer. This Duck cheats the voting system. They can only ever vote for a person one time, but each meeting that vote sticks. Duck votes bird A round 1, bird B round 2... on round 2 and on both bird A and B have their vote. Round 5.. that means 5 votes.. anyone that duck voted for previous 4 rounds still get that vote plus now a 5th victim. Can skip. Can't vote for same bird twice. -- Geese can tell if there is an active Cheater on round 2 and up if they notice the votes outweigh the voters.
Rename the Dodo Bird to "Silly Goose".
I know it says goose in the name, but it fits the role a lot better.
Friendly Goose - This goose has an ability to block a player from playing any action. This ranges from the Vigilantes Kill to the Mediums Sight. And yes, this also prevents Ducks from Venting and Sabotaging.
So its a better sheriff
this is worth a read for those of you who want to design roles
It was an interesting read, but I can tell some people will skim it for sure
99% (conservatively) of the ideas posted in here won't be able to follow those guidelines
Lmao. I would like to say I'm not one of them, but sadly I posted a lot of stuff prior to reading the text, and hurts me to say I also failed miserably on not following it
its okay
like i say in the document, people just like to post what they think would be fun, and maybe there's a version of it that'll work
or it'll spark an idea in me
i read everything in here
i dont reply to everything because that would be very time consuming
Supply Goose: Once per game, they may use their ability to resupply another bird. If that bird has an ability that is limited to a certain number of uses per game (e.g. Vigilante, Detective, Cannibal, Assassin, ect.) then their ability is refreshed as if they haven't used their ability yet. This ability is wasted if used on a bird that doesn't have a once per game action.
Shaman Goose: Up to a maximum of three times per game the shaman can check a bird. The bird will display its aura (blue, red or yellow) depending on whether it is a goose, a duck or a neutral role. The twist is that each game the color of the three factions will change randomly, so it will be up to the Shaman Goose to figure out which color is that of the ducks, which that of the neutrals and which that of the geese. The ability can only be used once per round.
A description would be "Three times per game, he can check a bird's aura. Birds with similar auras are in the same faction."
Short/Simple idea: Ninja Duck. Once per game, they can go invisible for 7 seconds. During this time, they may still kill.
Shakes up the narrative if you're in a group and one of you drops dead with the ninja enabled or possibly in play. Depending how you're grouped, you might not be able to determine whether one of your party mates did the kill or if the Ninja came by.
Another Idea: Chaos Duck. As tasks are completed, this duck can go around and un-do specific tasks completed by the geese. Cooldown would be configurable, but I would start at around 30 seconds so it happens more or less once per round. Their niche is to slow down task wins as much as possible.
Revival goose - could be paired with assassin (in the same vein as hitman/bodyguard) and have the opposing ability of the assassin by reviving the player that has been assassinated in a meeting, twice.
They do run the risk of reviving the assassin though if it is a wrong guess.
reminds me of the skit, either MadTV or Monty Python... Guy kept eating till he burst, i think the trigger was soup -- I laughed thinkng about if Gravy Goose finished all tasks they could trigger themself to explode, either as a button or on death. - was just a funny thought
Skeptical Goose: During each meetings he can choose two birds and mark one of them as the most trusted and the other as the least trusted. This information will be visible to everyone during and outside the meetings. Simple and balanced.
parrot: can imitate a player (they become the person's role they immitate) if they immitate a duck they die (and they become the regular goose), they can only immitate if they have done 3 or 4 of their tasks (if they die before they can imitate they become a goose)
Phantom:win by doing task
The host can set phantom task to add 0-3 nore task than a goose has
I don't have a title for it but perhaps a Duck that can move a body? Maybe once a game they can pick up a body and have a countdown. If they don't set it down somewhere before the countdown ends, it's dropped. (Very awkward if you got stuck in a group and all of a sudden you drop a body. But if you place it just right, can also frame someone.)
^Sounds like Jailer play but with dead bodies
Screaming Duck: Each time this duck reports a body, its kill cooldown is reduced by 5 seconds for the rest of the game, as well as that of sabotage
Vampire bird - a bird thatâs only has one person on the team but they can covert others onto there team .ability can only be used 2 .they can also kill but only the oldest vampire can kill and if they kill a vampire goose they died. The vampire Hunter bird canât be killed nor converted by vampires they need to kill all the vampires and if they die who every reports the body ( only goose can report a vampire hunter birds body) will become the vampire hunter goose if all vampires die the vampire hunter becomes the sheriff and one of the ducks are exposed to him
Advanced goose (name is not set in stone) - a goose that can complete the next step of a task automatically after completing the first step.
Autocompletes two part tasks and advances you to the third step of three part tasks (?)
Security Goose - Given a flashlight. When toggled, narrows down FOV similar to birdwatcher goose with massively increased range, but is not able to see through walls. To toggle on or off is on a 5 second cooldown.
(This is so the three newly added roles can work on the other maps.
Politician Goose: Can get an additional vote, or their vote will count as two points?
Locksmith Goose: In all other maps except Mallard Manor, this role will be called the Hacker Goose (not sure about the name) and they will have a button with a cool down that makes them open any sabotaged door. For Mallard Manor they will be called the Locksmith, but with the ability to open doors with a cool down.
Snitch Goose: Iâm not sure about the snitch, but maybe if one player votes for the snitch, the role of that player will be revealed to all ducks, I think this could be a situational role that make geese and even neutral birds think about who to vote without being ratted out and killed easily. (I can definitely see this one being unbalanced)
Maybe their ability nned to be adjustable in settings lol
Paranoid Swan: Has no task to start out, is a neutral role when picking roles for everyone
Is considered on the geese team to start out (wins with them), but if at any point someone attempts to kill it (either directly or by assassin fire), they retaliate and kill the attacker.
After they kill the attacker, they are now on the team the attacker was on, and have the basic functions of that team. If they win in this state, the attacker does too.
(extra idea to incentivize the attacker staying in the game, the paranoid can see the attackers ghost)
A troll/vip bird
If heâs killed he win alone
I read it. đ I guess it is tricky to come up with roles that don't shift the balance, etc.
Agreed, it is hard.
Hereâs a better medic:
Has 1 shield that be used to make a player unkillable
Lobby option:
Shield breaks on double kill(if someone is double killed at the same time, the shield breaks and whoever has the shield die
Shield has 3 time use:
Must kill him 4 times
explosions duck: they can place 3 bombs at max per round they can activate the bombs and 20-30 seconds later that room/building is gonna explode and everyone inside dies, they can activate it at the sabotage screen and place down bombs with a button
Shield Skill: No self cast, Invisible, longer CD than a killer skill, shatter after 1 kill or meeting. Can't save against environmental death or lover's death.
What about frequency? Once per game? Once per round?
They should call that the bat
Maybe
Per round. Work on any target (geese, ducks and neutrals) because of the longer CD, even if a life is saved, takes the medic longer to cast it again hence you can save the target once, but odds are you won't be able to do it again.
Duck Idea:
A duck with an ability that, once used on someone, prevents them from reporting any bodies until the next meeting.
This can make a goose look suspicious when they seemingly aren't reporting a body. This can give ducks an excuse when they are caught not reporting a body if they claim they were hit with this. This can be used on a fellow duck to counter the Canadian. And this can be used when trapped in a room with 2 geese to prevent one from reporting, locking them in with you while you wait for the kill cooldown to get them both.
so silencer duck, but its power now also stops one from reporting bodies?
No, it can't silence people. Stopping people from reporting is a different thing.
i dont think thats good, since the person that can't report can just say what he saw.
See the examples given for how to use it well, though.
Parrot:
Makes an audible squawk within a given range (maybe sabotage range?) when they are killed.
Mayor goose:when he revealed himself,he gets 3 vote
And this is tottaly not from mods

Itâs true
Ussualy mayors only have 2 vote(tor)or a vote bank(tou)
But mine has 3 and a reveal button

Itâs true,right
Have you guys considered this ability that would be unique to a goose and was visible to everyone?
We think that in a game of social deduction, the element of having to figure out certain roles is important. As such, many roles do have some overlap to create ambiguity. An example of this would be a few ducks, the mechanic, and the pigeon. All can vent, and if you saw anyone vent, you'd have to supplement that information with other information to actually solve who it could be. If you just suggested a role where its ability was visible to everyone, it's likely someone summoned this bot to explain why it isn't viable in the current classic modes. It might still work in other game modes, but keep this in mind for classic+!
Huh?
Visionary goose - gets a Kill cam to show how the player dies when they report a body with names blurred and colors are not shown
Fixer goose: can ârepairâone sabotage every two round. When a sabotage is repaired, the ducks have to reactivate it to use it.
Vest goose: a goose that gets two vests per game. When the vest goose decided to use a vest, it protects him from getting killed. It can deflect one attack per round. If it was used during a round and the goose was not attacked, it will be used up. It does not work during meetings.
I could maybe this is functioning like it does in Goose Hunt. You get a notification that someone died, but not where or by whom.
That would just be a more op medium goose, which is not really great
How is it different from the original version? Also, the medium can refresh how many are dead, while the Visionary only learns that information when it happens.
This sounds like the proposed "American Goose" that had been talked about a bit in the past
Psychic goose:every odd numbered meeting(1,3,5,7)he can see 3 people that might be evil
Special:
He might see 2 people that might be good every even numbered meetings(2,4,6,8)
The host might enable both even and odd number
Neutrals appear as evil:on/off
Does dodo count as evil?
I would have to think neutrals would be counted as evil, since they have their own win conditions.
Well yes, unless you change it in settings then
All neutrals will appear as good
Role idea:medusa bird
Goal:stone everyone
Stoning:the player will be freezed and will appear as a stone and he will be killed when a meeting started(using button or body report).the stoned player will become a ghost with no ability(do task or sabotage)when stoned(before meeting)
If left in a 1v1 against duck then the duck will win
Cuckoo
Team: neutral
Abilitiy: During a meeting can kill 1 player if you guess there role right you kill them and you become there role and join there team
Role idea: poisoner duck: canât kill, but can posion one player per round, who will die after the meeting.
Seems a bit like Spy Duck (regarding target) or the Assassin Duck (killing in meetings), only without a way to counter them. Only killing in meetings also means if they're the last duck, it's hard if they run out of meetings.
Tracker goose: can track one player per round. During the meeting, they can see the path the tracked player took in the last 10 seconds
New roles were added so here goes Roulette Duck 2.0
Roulette Duck
When the Roulette Duck kills a bird, they gain an effect or an event happens depending on the role they killed. This can vary from being a positive effect to a negative effect, causing chaos when killing different roles roles.
Effects gained from killing birds:
Classic Goose: No effect.
**Gravy Goose: **You will be marked for the Sheriff with a bounty. If you survive until the end, you gain even more bonus coins. If the Sheriff shoots you and survives, they gain bonus coins instead.
**Mechanic & Snoop Goose: **You become able to vent and hide this game.
**Vigilante Goose: **You instantly report the body.
**Technician Goose: **All Sabotage unlock tasks become completed.
**Medium Goose: **On death, the Medium lets out a harrowing scream that all birds alive can hear.
**Birdwatcher Goose: **Lights turn off for you until the next meeting. You cannot report the body or call a meeting.
**Canadian Goose: **Another random bird is shown as reporting the body, instead of you.
**Sheriff Goose: **Your kill cooldown instantly refreshes.
**Detective Goose: **The roles of every dead bird is shown to you during the next meeting.
**Lover Goose: **The other Lover doesn't die, and you fall in love with that bird, replacing their old love to become a Loving Roulette Duck.
Bodyguard Goose: You become morphed into the target of the Bodyguard until the next meeting is called.
**Mimic Goose: **The Mimic becomes a Classic Goose, indicating that they have been dealt with to your fellow Ducks.
Lockpicking Goose: You will be jailed after the next meeting.
Politician Goose: You have ruined the campaign of the Politician and will permanently have one vote on you each meeting.
**Dodo Bird: **Your kill cooldown is increased by 50% this game.
**Vulture: **You are silenced during the next meeting.
**Pigeon: **You barf for 5 seconds, leaving behind a visible trail.
**Falcon: **You can freely assassinate one bird during the next meeting without needing to guess their role, but you can only skip during meetings this game.
**Any Duck: **You commit suicide.
Two roles come up with in the lobby.
Swiftie came up with the Ugly Duckling, a character who is a goose until it's down to % people, then it becomes a swan and can kill (swans are mean)
Gforce came up with the Chicken, a character who is essentially a goose, but when it's killed it runs around (either an autorun or if that's too tough, allow the player to see the map but not any characters) and can only be reported if you catch it. If it goes X time without being caught, it wins.
Time goose:
Can activated time shield(20 seconds cooldown),the time shield will activate for 8 seconds
Time shield:if you are about to be killed, you survive and the time is rewinded by 5 seconds(the kill cooldown isnât rewinded).you are immune to the time rewind
can someone at least make birdwatcher can see through a fog in GC
I have a bunch of role ideas
1- Stalker duck
They can go invisible for 6 seconds while standing wears off by moving
You have a second option to which is to kill that requires a 3 second animation so you have to make sure the goose is standing still for this. After you kill you leave a trace of blood on the floor no body to report
Nuetral - Swan
The swan tries to kill everyone like the falcon but he has an ability he can make anyone his sidekick. The side kick gets all his task removed and basically puts his in the swans team
The Jackal (and his Sidekick) may be killed by a Sheriff.
A Swan cannot target the Mini, while it's growing up. After that he can kill it or select it as its Sidekick
The geese can still win, even if all of their members are dead, if they finish their tasks fast enough (that's why converting the last goose with tasks left into a Sidekick results in a task win for the goose)
If both ducks and Swans are in the game the game continues even if all Geese are dead. Geese may still win in this case by completing their tasks. Swan and Duck have to kill each other.
When the swan dies the sidekick turns into the swan and may convert other sidekicks
Last is
Paintball goose - when you die you spill a bunch a paint showing footprints of the person who killed the goose was last seen been
If birdwatcher can't see in the dark, why should they be able to see through fog?
oh...I forgot about that lol
%roles paintball goose test
Thanks @sudden rampart for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
Neutral seagull - this role is only viable in a 14 to 16 player lobby
The seagull wins with the ducks
But the ducks can still be able to kill the seagull. The ducks are told in the start of the round if a seagull is present in game
So ducks can have a free alibi if the seagull knows who the killer is
For example if one of the team is a spy and they check idk green it will say seagull and if proxy is on they can plan it out also Assasin can't guess seagull role so they only have to physically kill the seagull accidentally
If the seagull is last with the ducks they seagull wins itself not the ducks so the ducks can kill the seagull if they want but they have to think it through because the seagull can help them win
Armoured Goose - Armour can absorb one kill/shot (Sheriff still dies, Assassins shot breaks your armour.), you can see if the armour is broken in voting, any killing role which breaks the armour has twice the cooldown for their next kill, (30 goes to 60 seconds eg)
Can be countered with duck cooperation, for example one duck can take off armour and another to kill, deceiving to vote out the armoured (This would work better in publics.) Can also be countered with an assassin (Assassin takes off armour, shoots you in the meeting, then proceeds to say a misfire happened)
Overall this would most likely nerf most ability to kill roles as trigger happy (The most affected by this would be assassin), slightly nerfs vulture and can even act as a pseudo bodyguard without the bounty (Think the guard role from agrou but once.).
This would appear to be a bug to other killing roles.
Then perhaps a audio/visual indication to whoever breaks the armour would be played/shown to the attempted killer? (Something like a cracked shield for a visual and cracking noise for audio)
The ideas channels can now be discussion boards. If you want to submit a formal idea/suggestion please use the following start to your post.
%role - for new thought out ideas in classicplusrole-ideas (after reading the guide pinned in this channel)
If you memorize the random effects you basically get a duck that can see peopleâs roles on kill
This is like my vest goose idea
The idea of a 2 hit kill role seems common, its just how it interacts with the other roles (especially the killing ones), the main difference between ours seems to be mine can be blocked by assassin but can be used once per game, its would be hard to implement without causing some issues
Reveals the roles
%role Some new neutral roles
Pelican
Basically Executioner from other games
Dove
Wins with anyone if they live to the end of the game after finishing their tasks
Crow
Neutral killing role that kills every other round
Sparrow
Wants to die in the first few rounds of the game, if they survive they become a Dodo, all Dodos win together this way
Cuckoo
Wants someone else to die in the first few rounds, if their target survives, they become a Pelican, all Pelicans win together
Thanks @lapis canopy for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
%role Tracker Goose. Once every 20 seconds, can activate their tracker ability. For 10 seconds they see glowing blood marks indicating a killer walked past since the last meeting.

Faker Duck -
Summery - Can fake there death and makes a body but can be reported like a body by clicking on him from then on.
Full - Has a Button to fake your death, there is no body but when the next meeting starts you are seen dead, If they skip that round you die. From then on you cant die during meetings but, When someone Clicks or taps on the Faker Duck not during a meeting a Meeting is called and The Faker Duck is revealed to every and can be voted.
Thanks @rare inlet for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
@lapis canopy I'm not so sure about the Dove role. Seems like a very passive role, since you're just doing tasks and trying not to die. In most circumstances, it seems like they're just another generic goose who can win with ducks, falcon or even a dodo. Is there any motive to getting rid of them?
@lapis canopy maybe if the Dove lived to the end of the game there the only one that wins? but there's gotta be some way to tell if someone is a Dove like unqiue tasks that only the dove can do.
What do you think of this?
This idea is original and not the same as your usual time lord
Even though this is self-shielding medic+time lord
Like the shield but it has been suggested in armored goose/vest goose. Don't like the rewind feature. Town of us rewind doesnât really make it fun, just annoying, and I donât think annoying is what Goose goose duck roles need.
But you gotta admit this is original right?
Itâs not original, itâs just combining two roles into one. Thatâs suing I could combine vulture and dodo into one role and call it original. That role is not original, just makes the game more annoying.
Well,itâs still different than mods
%role Armored goose: copies this idea, but reveals the armor goose role to ducks when ducks break armor.
Thanks @sturdy heath for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
Don't need to resubmit ideas with slight variations, you can just continue the conversation here
Role idea:child
The child can be a goose(65% chance)or duck(45% chance)
The child canât get killed but can get voted out
If a goose child is voted out:everyone loses
If a duck child is voted out:nothing happened
If a duck child is sherrifed:sherrif died
If a goose/duck child is vigied:child died
The child will grow overtime and will become a regular duck or goose(growing take 735 seconds)
The Mentalist: Duck Role
As a master of hypnotism, once per game, you can hypnotise your target, implanting within them a desire to kill. Ten seconds after your target is hypnotised, the desire to kill becomes too much, and they lash out and kill the next goose, or even duck they cross paths with.
Cursed: Neutral
Every round has to kill at least one bird (any bird). If fails to kill in a round, automatically dies.
Smokey: Duck Role
Has the ability to deploy a smoke screen in which to kill.
Key Master: Goose Role
Has the ability to unlock locked doors (one door at a time). Customizable cooldown timer.
Enhancement for Technician - Can complete tasks from slightly farther away
Bombadeer: Goose Role
Farts from this goose, "mark" anyone around it. All other birds can be "marked" by this goose by farting on them. (Marked birds just have a fart cloud around them for the rest of the round).
Security Goose: Goose Role
Can hook up their own security cameras and access them via watch. optional Night-vision googles on light sabotages (can not discern names or colors of other birds with them).
Forensics Goose: Goose Role
Can discern how long a corpse has been dead for (not who killed, as that takes time).
I feel like the key master could just be a change/buff to the locksmith, and moved to all maps
Main problem with Bombadeer is that not everyone has a fart. However, the marked idea wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, as maybe you can track one or two people around in a round.
Shifting Goose: you can get the Role from an Other Goose but if you Shift an Duck you die
Can you only shift once? Does that mean there's now two of that role? What if you shift into a neutral?
I feel security goose would be way to good, just place your cameras in front of a few vents and boom, one of the ducks major assets is now completely useless to them
Itâs only if the player is looking though them. Mabye add a flashingb light on the cameras when they are being used?
Yeah, only the security goose would be able to use the camera.

partial credit to @hardy flicker for this idea.
Yandere Duck: Can only spawn with the Lover Goose pair. Yandere duck is in love with one of the two lovers, identified similarly to the Hitman/Bodyguard pair. Yandere's main goal is to kill the other lover goose. Doing so will not kill the love interest, but instead will make Yandere Duck a Lover Duck, with all the same rules applying.
Alternate rule: if the Yandere Duck's love target is killed, she completely snaps and becomes a falcon, ready to kill whoever harmed her precious love interest.

Magpie (neutral role) It likes the shiny guns and knives the birds carry and is very jealous
-They gain bullets through tasks ( 10 available tasks no matter what its set on, it doesn't count towards the goose win, its just for it to get bullets )

-If it kills a non killing neutral role it will loose another bullet
- It can vent but has a longer cooldown

task master: neutral
win: if he finished his tasks (10 but 15 is for max)
disadvantage: has a lot of tasks and he must complete them
as you guys can see this is task master he win if he is finished as a nice normal bird to help geese fix the ship(but he doesnt help geese win he wins alone) if the meeting is called the taskmaster has 1 extra task if he died all his task list resets(10 tasks not 15) but he can complete them to win even tho he is dead(if you die early you can have a lucky day) but what he cant do if he dead is he cannot phase through objects so the ducks can lock the door and making task master waiting the doors to open and the only way to stop him if some other birds win instead of him faster and if the meeting called and he is dead he will get 2 extra tasks(but if it is full nothin happen)
I donât like how he can win if heâs dead, and honestly itâs kinda hard to tell if somebodyâs the task master and gonna win because heâs just doing what everybody else does
well...its true but just like magpie idea is the tasks isnt suppose to fill the meter
Except by default, the task meter only update at a meeting, and I can tell you firsthand as someone who usually finishes their tasks first, even doing them all doesn't fill the bar up that much. It'd probably be fine if they had 50% more tasks than other geese, but lost if killed. That's enough of a pressure on the clock, but gives the ducks (and geese) a means to stop the loss.
%role% Chemist Duck
No direct kill option.
Marks geese with 2 different abilities. One is the explosive, the other is the igniter.
He kills geese by marking the first with an explosive and the second with the igniter.
If these geese, after marked, come within X Meters of each other, they both detonate and instantly die (looks like failed sherriff).
Every meeting, these marks are reset.
He cannot re-assign the mark to a new goose. If a marked goose dies, the effect does not persist on the body.

%role Disabler Duck
Can't kill unless they're the only duck left after a meeting (Once this occurs, the kill timer is increased to 125% the normal time, for example 60 to 75 seconds.) Can vent.
Sabotages recharge 25% faster for all ducks when they're alive. (Bonus goes away after death, 60 seconds to 45 seconds.)
Once per meeting, disable one players ability if you're the only one to vote for them (For example, if the canadian dies they wont get auto reported, The sheriff and falcon cant kill, Pigeon can't vent or infect.) This lasts until the next meeting.
This ability does not work on fellow ducks, the mimic, the bounty roles (bodyguard/gravy), the regular goose, the lovers and the roles that require you to be in a meeting to use (Politician, Dodo.). This also disables the Vultures dead body tracker.
This idea was based off of a more supportive duck role rather than being a killer (I also love the spy role)
This role will be disabled in lobbies where blind voting is turned off (The main ability would be useless so there wouldn't be much point in using it.)

Smokey: Duck Role
Has the ability to deploy a smoke screen in which to kill. This works similarly to the steam after running a Hot Bath, etc. Tactical disorientation would also affect the one who uses it.
Thanks @night tendon for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
The Falcon timer would be disabled for that round. This would apply either until the next meeting or the duck win. (The falcon still needs to be killed but thereâs no timer)
Maybe the falcon timer part should be removed
Since falcon is kinda op
The biggest problem I see with this is coding in a smokescreen to a room. The bath's steam is predetermined for that room, while none of the others are set up for that. It's especially a problem for an area like The Grounds in Mallard Manor or the streets of Goosechapel; in the latter case, how far would the smoke go?
I feel like falcons a balanced enough role, thereâs ways to hard counter the falcon in game.
I even won against a falcon via sabotage, so it can be done! It just came down to really close timing, and the falcon not realizing sabotage trumps falcon time. :p
The top way to hard meta rat out a falcon is by making everyone vote for themselves which is definitely scummy but it does work.
Only thing is that the dodo could vote skip for an easy win. It's quite risky to do.
Thatâs just itching for a sheriff kill then. It is risky yes, but itâs worked for me a good few times.
daffy duck: you are a single duck, you dont know any ducks and the ducks dont know you, your mission is to kill the last person on any sides (for example 1 neutral, a dodo bird remains, you kill the dodo bird you win, same with geese and ducks) and you alsohave the same effect as falcon, the game doesnt end when your alive, also if this seems like a bad role daffy should have a shorter kill cooldown (only if it seems underpowered from the conditions)
The title daffy duck would probably be copyright claimed and why have duck in its name if it's not even on the duck side? Doesn't seem like a good role imo
ik its supposed to be a meme i said it bc of my screenshot, this one role idc about being in the game
I was thinking of a goose that can talk someone down with them if they get voted out not if they get killed it will be cold vengeful goose.
I think joke suggestions should be in general if you don't want people to take them literally ;/

-zombies must stay in a range with the Zombie Duck if not then 5 seconds to get back
-zombies can only kill once
-Zombie duck wins by being the only duck/geese alive minis the zombies
-zombie duck need to infect there victom first before killing
-Zombie ducks only live for 2 round and with each round they become easier to spot
So... the vampire from Trick or Treat?
Uh i haven't been able to get into a game with it so im assuming you said it because its like what i said so, sure i geuss
In terms of classic plus, I think they are avoiding any role being brought back to life
Devs said any role involving resurrection is an automatic no for classic +
that would be too op i think....
Thanks now i need to think of an other one
%role
Worm Duck
You have the ability to make your corpse appear, leaving you invisible for a few seconds and making the body reportable with the intention of framing a goose.
You get a very small segment of time where you can run wherever (like 0.8s maybe) but after that grace period if you come into contact with any other player you are immediately revealed. The stealth lasts for maybe 5? seconds and at the end of the period your corpse disappears if it wasn't reported. If the corpse is eaten you flat out die for real with a new corpse at your current location.
You can get killed while in stealth but the higher threat is being revealed too early. You also cannot kill or sabotage while in stealth, the only thing you get is maybe a slightly higher movespeed while the stealth lasts. As in miniscule to the point where you will barely outrun anyone. It becomes a matter of deceit and moving corners rather than running away from a gaggle.
This will trigger detective, as you can be analysed and shown as having killed, since you technically leave behind a corpse (your own).

The Aussie - Neutral Role
We all know us Aussies live in dangerous lands with everything trying to kill us, especially drop bears, and our public transport friends the Kangaroo's jks
had a random thought for a role and maybe it could be OP but it could also backfire so it does have a good balance
The Aussie's Ability can tame one role per game
what does this do, this not only means you're bonded similar to lovers but you both don't die but you're allies until the end
if you're the last 2 left you win (similar to lovers)
so what does the tame do, it means whoever you tame even if it's a duck becomes your ally and if for example you do tame a duck they're no longer friends with the other ducks but the tame does ally you to share the ability of whom you tame
now this could be a very OP role but would need some fine tuning like I don't think you should be able to walk up and just tame it should have a timer of some sort like you need to tame for 5 secs or it holds the person in place meaning you could get caught out doing it
the trickster bird: if they are alive in the last 5 (if the player count is over 12) 4 (if the player count is over 8) 3 (if the player count is 7 or below) they win and the game ends, they have a one time kill button too (cannot vent because that would be too good
%role Thrall Duck
Much like Thralls from Trick or Treat, this Duck literally cannot ever die. They spawn as a normal bird, but without a kill button. They do have a Turn button which permanently turns them into a Thrall that is always considered dead and canât vote. They move slower and have a normal kill cooldown, but if they donât kill within 30 seconds of their cooldown being up, they die. If they die, it takes 20 seconds to revive. Since the Thrall Duck is considered dead all the time, Geese can win by voting out / killing the other Ducks and the Falcon. Thrall Duck can still talk with other players so that they can blast clown music through their microphone as they approach cornered Geese.
Thanks @bold egret for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
Lots of drawbacks to the role, but what's the hard counter to it? Vigilante only gets one shot, and if the sheriff dies, the Thrall could easily keep coming back and wipe out all the ducks. What about if it gets killed by the environment (ie. airlock, shuttle or chandelier)?
The counter is coordination and hurrying up, if the thrall moves at half speed you can easily outrun them, and once you see it die you are safe for 50 seconds since 20 sec revive and ~30 sec cooldown
Tell your fellow geese where the thrall is and take notice of who the thrall might be ignoring, signaling they are a duck
Issue is the thrall or their duck partners could call a sabotage and thrall camps there all game either killing them one by one or they all die to sabotage
Just dont do the sabotage until the thrall dies by itself, or just report a body the thrall killed
The ducks control the sabotage, not the geese, so they have far more control there. Even in Trick or Treat, the thralls are all tied to the Vampire. In an open game, though, there's nothing to stop the Thrall Duck. I'd say if it doesn't kill in that 30 second window, then it dies permanently, as it leeches the goose's life energy.
Thanks @fervent pasture for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
Hypothetically who wins the Lover vs introvert scenario?
Lover Duck, Lover Goose, Introvert in final three. Lovers win because the Introvert sees their happiness together and accepts their fate.
Isnât it falcon but without fun perks?
The win con contradicts both falcon, lovers and ducks, since you would need to utterly big brain it to only vote out enough so that you only have 1 duck left. It doesnât sound like a role where you are able to work towards your victory, as things are entirely out of your control
And by the way, can we have the 10 minute cooldown on posts removed here now that the role discussion chat was removed
i've removed slowmode
if people abuse it, or their ideas are just too thoughtless, i might end up removing them from the channel
Thank you
that wasn't aimed at you
just wanted to put that out there in general so i could haphazardly remove people from this channel later
I like this idea but >you will only be able to kill 1 player the whole game and if u kill a goose u will have the same consequences as the sheriff< feels like a worse vigilante. To differ it from a vigilante I think allowing them to kill 3 times instead of one would be better. Either that or only being able to kill once per round, almost like it's learning from the sheriff. The death consequence if they kill a goose will still ve there.
Sounds like the vig goose but with consequences
%roles mask goose
Can see through smoke and fog
Only active on those maps
Thanks @sturdy heath for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
I assume Mask Goose is still affected by lights going out?
Yea
Then it would not be as fun
I think it would be a fun 50/50 on which mask it'd have (not visible of course)
Some games you can see through fog and others you can see through smoke in respected map
True. Although that might make it too situational
I think theyâre wanting to stay away from seeing in the dark or through fog
Maybe, I feel like being able to see through fire smoke and fog at the same time would be a little strong seeing as it has no disadvantage
I almost suggested something that would affect lights sabotage, but thatâs too op
Mask goose for fires seems fun though
Yea
I personally feel that ducks use the lights sabotage far more often than the others, and it's one that really could be ignored to a degree. I wouldn't mind a role that discourages it slightly, or at least encourages the other sabotages.
Oh! I know! Maybe a goose role that causes lights to flicker back on for a brief moments?
Maybe an electrician goose?
Funny, technician, electrician, and a mechanic
Next we need a plumber
I also feel that ducks forget that some of the other sabotages prevent meetings being called and that meetings can be called to reset kill cooldowns ;w; ( happened to me a lot during lights and I could never get a kill till they used up their meetings
Rename of GC mechanic
%roles welder goose.
Can weld shut vents, if someone tries to use it anyways they get stuck for a few seconds with a visible icon betraying that they've used it. the weld lasts until the next meeting. can be used twice a round, higher cooldown than kills
Role Serial Killer (Neutral role)
Dislikes disablers
But good idea
Nah Serial Killer same role Falcon
Role Peaceable
During vote meeting, you can choose some one to show their role and end vote meeting
Role Cupid
Begin the round, you will choose 2 goose(could be duck) to be couple.Win with goose or couple last remain.
Couple: if one of couple die, then other goose in couple will die
Role President
If President die,all role goose will lose effect
Could be gamemode
Nosey Goose
L-shift: Put a "marker" on a nearby player. If a different player is already Marked, they lose the mark and Nosey learns if they are on the same team with the now Marked player.
I will leave how this works with Neutrals up to discussion.
I'm in favor of having Neutrals appear as the same team as everyone else.
agent goose: once per game they can place a chip on someone when they open the map they can see the person they put a chip on
%roles welder goose.
Can weld shut vents, if someone tries to use it anyways they get stuck for a few seconds with a visible icon betraying that they've used it
Thanks @true dirge for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
did ducks randomly get welding guns???
Thanks @fervent pasture for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
If a duck knows who the sheriff is, itâs easy to kill the sheriff and claim that role. If someone else is appointed to that role, there are realistically now 4 non-duck killing roles that have been in the game. Most sheriffâs donât even kill 3 people within a game. This also makes the vigilante less important as you can guarantee a neutral or a duck role twice in a game.
Sure, but thatâs also just the vigilante with consequences. Also, what if the sheriff never dies? Do you just stay as classic goose?
%role Seer Task:
You will know who is duck when you complete all your task but it will get attention to ducks and they will know you, they hunt you. While you doing the task, ducks will know how much you have task left
Thanks @hardy sage for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
No. If you remove its consequences they would be an overpowered vigilante. Think about it, you could of killed 3 goose roles with no issue.
I want to state here that the game developers believe the vigilante is actually more powerful than the sheriff.
Keep that in mind when designing geese roles that can kill....
That really doesn't fit a niche in the goose armory.
It's just a crappy vigilante...
back to the drawing board
You havent seen my 100% accuracy sheriff
Thatâs sheriff goose with less shots
I believe this would make it balanced, Jeff please read it entirely. I also think they should get the role immediately when they spawn in.
Nobody shoots more than 3 people as sheriff
Team goose has distinct killing roles, if youre going to brainstorm another goose killer, then it needs to be distinctively different from vigi and sheriff, just saying you get 2 shots instead of 1 isnt a solution
%role the deputy goose: (is only ingame when the sheriff is ingame) knows who the sheriff is, when the sheriff dies the deputy becomes the sheriff, the deputy has 1 shot and the deputy can only kills ducks, if they kill a neutral they die aswell (because it seems a bit overpowered to have a second sheriff with no consiquences)
Thanks @harsh meadow for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
might want to pin that warning
Sometimes the sheriff doesnt die so the deputy role would be useless
If it killed a falcon which is a neutral role, would it die even though it is killing a bad role?
Again though, if it still dies from killing a neutral or goose role and has one bullet - it is quite literally a worse vigilante
A goose killing role should come with widespread negative effects for the goose team.
Geese shouldn't be killing
Right now we're happy with the number and type of geese killing roles, introducing a third may be a problem but we have an idea for variants
What if instead of this deputy having an in-game kill.. They have a meeting kill, 1 shot.. just like assassin but they have to guess the Duck / Neutral role right or they die --- this can make people think an assassin is alive, or misfired. It leaves them vulnerable in-game due to no kill ability and makes them cautious taking a shot.
I would rather have a veto goose that could deflect an assassin shot, they can put it on any one person during a meeting. That person would be protected from assassin shots, voting effects like the snitch or spy, but would negatively affect the politician etc.
Its a very passive role but could be powerful if we communicate it to the players properly (otherwise people will think its bugged)
It was just going with the flow of people wanting another killing goose, could always be a varient of sheriff insted
i think a majority of players think what they want is a lot of killing roles
because having 2 sheriffs is a bit broken dont you agree?
one can kill without consiquence and the other needs to be logical since in the end there will alaways be one sheriff
No one ever said the deputy has unlimited kills. They can both have consequence but one needs another limit. If you're going to say the deputy cannot be active until the sheriff dies, thats being a regular goose.
A deputy with 3 bullets or one that can kill once every round/every other round is better than being a vigilante that can die from killing the falcon.
yeah i wrote the deputy can kill once hat shot can kill neutrals ONCE the sheriff dies the deputy becomes te sheriff and that sheriff can only kill ducks
Not a fan but you do you
That would be cool
Mabye a role that can veto meeting abilities for a person
Assassin gets blocked from killing the vetoes person, but sees their role.
Snitch and spy gets their vote redirected to the veto goose
And the politician gets their ability canceled, which can make them go to jail.
The veto goose places the veto protection by guessing their targets role.
If it succeeds, they can reuse the veto ability the next round, but on a different person.
You canât do the same person twice in a row
How does that sound Shawn?
Not that op, but not that powerless
Pigmaster, have you read the pinned document
Is it a canceling role?
Gosh darn it đŚ
Ok mabye not a good idea
But yea I did read the document Herbert
You got it
Ability nullification is hard to pull off well
True. I didnât realize I created a nullification role, even though I called it veto goose đŚ
I still think there's a good idea for a goose who has a slightly more powerful vote. I picture it as 1.5 voting power, so nothing that breaks the game or is too obvious, but if there's a tie, they push the balance in their favour. Ideally, I'd give that to the politician for maps without a jail, but maybe it could be a completely separate role.
Captain Goose
Actually that makes a good point. Will you add politician goose too other maps?
Theres a version of this that could work
Without adding the jail fact
The politician and locksmith are not roles
They are an extension of the jail mechanic
Oh ok
That's how I treat them anyways
Are there versions that could work on jailless maps? Of course
I think the politician is more than a jail mechanic, since he can break ties. The locksmith is more of a extension of the jail, since the locksmith doesnât work without a jail
But I think it's be needlessly confusing having the same roles do different things in other maps
Cough Mechanic and snoop goose cough
I can understand why you might think that, but the politician is a vanilla goose most of the time
They very deliberately don't do the same thing, and that's the point
Yea
Call it captain goose on space maps, and landowner goose for manor đ
I mean, there's no reason it can't be a captain in the Ducktorian era. That's why there's a Colonel Mustard in Clue(do). Just isn't the most powerful person in those other places.
Yea, but landowner goose is more suited for the place.
%roles tiebreaker goose đ
Thanks @sturdy heath for your feedback, we'll be sure to look at it
I think the deputy would be near impossible to balance
The devs stated that they donât want to add another goose killing role.
Geese should be murdered, not murdering
That doesnât sound like fun, itâs sounds more like a regular goose, but can assasinate. There is a lot of inbalance.
Assassin can already escape getting caught by assaaiantions.
Their saving grace is that they have to guess
Thatâs the problem. I donât think a goose can hear of a ducks role
That would be very hard
Or a assassin
That makes it too op
Meetings deputy does jack with the meta, if someoneâs role is apparent, they would and should just call it out, so they donât backfire
Deputy would still go duck all the time, because if someone shot their ether a duck or falcon. And itâs higher that they are a duck
Itâs a nothing sandwich, geese already have a way to kill during meetings, and the ducks/nutrals are already keeping quiet about their roles
Yea thatâs what Iâm thinking
Itâs just a regular goose but worse since you have a job you canât do
It would be more disappointing to get deputy than regular goose IMO
Birdwatcher and medium are cool as they do have situations where they can succeed
Plus I never did officially suggest it with code, I don't know why you are so gung ho on shooting down roles instead of improving them.
But deputy doesnât have any real goose ones
Yes, but itâs the main way geese kill ducks and neutrals,
By voting them
Also how would this role help the goose using it
Thatâs too op. You can kill anyone during the meeting with near to no chance or death
If used in an argument, it just looks like they were assassin trying to keep the other person quiet
Yea
Just donât implement it into the game. There is no way to balance it
The assassin has two shot, and it usually uses one
Itâs not good IMO
Letâs move on
The duck assassin is so powerful because itâs shifts the meta so people arenât just claiming roles left and right, this role does nothing
Iâm done replying here
We talked about this now stop with the deputy role itâs not going to work in the GGD economy.
Itâs a good idea though
Sorry
Ok your taking it too far. I was stating why the idea was unbalanced, and I stated that there was no way to fix them by letting them give ideas to fix it and showing that it could not work that way, yet your still stating that I am a bad person. Calm down
And for the record, I donât not like the suggestion of the deputy goose. I am just stating that it does not work in GGD due to the evil roles not saying what their true roles are.
Thatâs why itâs a social deception game
Classic Plus Role Ideas
True
It happens
Mabye deputy could work in a game where the evil can reveal their roles and not look sus.
I understand the appeal of a geese assassin, assassin is my favorite role and killing roles tend to be the most (player side) fun roles in the game.
My problem is that it's so fundamentally flawed that there's no way I think it could be worked in.
The assassins main appeal on a player level is to silence any powerful roles that might pose a threat to the duck side. However, the main reason it's included is how it effects the meta of the game.
Roles in GGD are exclusive, no person can have the same role twice. This means that anyone with a role benefits tremendously from claiming it early. You trust the person who you can (almost) verify is a goose.
The assassin disrupts that, now, anyone with a powerful role is trying to keep quiet about it so they don't get assassinated. It's very option on the role list helps the ducks.
The Meeting deputy, has two main problems, it wont be fun to play and it doesn't effect how people play in any way shape or form.
First off, No one likes being a regular goose. It's boring, you can't do much except tasks. MDeputy would be just regular goose.
- Sure, it could be helpful to get rid of someone who you know is evil, but you run the risk of backfiring if your wrong.
- You're not going to be able to tell the role of a killer most of the time, so that wouldn't help.
- You can't just use a gut reaction on someone who's racing towards you, you only kill in meetings.
- You're basically waiting until the next meeting to see if someone's acting extra spy duck today, you can't do anything outside of meetings.
Second, MDeputy does nothing to the meta.
- assassin shots are anonymous, so they don't have a reason to fall back on this role
- Ducks and Neutrals are already hiding their roles, so it wouldn't affect how they play
- there's no reason for the MDeputy to claim, they just look like assassin.
While the idea is fun on paper, not even non-meet Deputy could work. In the wise words of a redhead:
"If everyone's super, no one is"
Most people donât read the guidelines Herbert wrote in terms of making a good role. I recommend starting there
