Like the one from Trepang 2 or TF2

Cloaking can be used to hide from enemies (as long you didn't do it infront of them)

  • Firing your gun or stabbing something/someone or just killing someone in general will disable your cloak
  • Cooldown if cloak was used
  • Enemies will still be alerted, if you cloak infront of them (they just won't know where you are)
  • You can upgrade the cloak to last longer, shorter cooldown and stuff

Misc:

  • You can use cloak by pressing a button (Example Y)
  • You can disable cloak entirely
  • In sandbox, Cloak will be infinite, and will not turn off if killing someone
  • Cooldown can be reduced if enemy was killed by a throwing melee since it's hard to do so (Thanks Anon for the idea 👍)
  • Unless crouched, or using a special equipment (that takes up a slot) enemy will still hear your footstep (Thanks Anon for the idea again 👍)

(Now imagine Cloaker from PAYDAY Was in this game)

Throwing knives and melee could reduce the cool down tho for the stealthy people who don't even use guns

Hitting someone with a throwing knife is pretty hard in vr after all so it could be rewarded for the stealth players (because they are the main people to use that)

Also in my opinion you should still be able to hear steps even when someone is cloaked unless they wear some special piece of equipment (taking up a slot of possibly a very good thing)

The reason behind what I just said is imagine some people just cloaking with a LMG even the uncloak after a kill won't do much since they can gun down like three people on the opposite team before they get killed

Could be something like a weight system if you have a AR your steps will be heard with a pistol and knife they won't and with a LMG you really can hear those steps

And there could be a way to get your steps to not be heard even with a LMG but it makes the cloak much shorter

#

Tho if we have a cloaker we need him to not be OP or if he is OP then have a counter to him example a guy with thermal goggles (limited time use too but this doesn't recharge) and he can see him with those thermals

Or making those thermals a thing to buy normally (only for one guy in the squad for the whole game) but it makes you hold it with one hand with limited battery (recharges each round by say 20%) limiting you to support and only a pistol

A cloak needs to be overpowered (kind of) but it needs to have a counter and trade off in some way

A cloak that isn't overpowered isn't useful at all so we need it to be op but have a counter (like the thermals I suggested)

This makes the players adapt to eachothers plays if a guy uses cloak all the time with a big gun you can hear him and take out your thermals to get em

I hate making text walls but sometimes I feel like it's needed in order so we can agree on what Is the best way to approach this (I don't mean just the two of us I mean for the whole community of beyond)
