After removing the Weekly story missions, It was announced that by removing the story missions we should stay tuned for more content. Where is the content? Not only you removed potential 4 Videos per month for content creators, but also removed the storyline for all the fractions, right now characters has no story, Dream Runners, GLC, Hunters etc. doesn't matter. You started with amazing lore animated video, then added bada$$ characters like Bella Shy-D etc. Then Pc Pubg had Deston which has literally the penthouse of Hunters in the middle of the map, we still didn't get the connection of it. Hopefully you'll not abandon the story that you created unlike George R.R. Martin.

& that doesn't overlap in time with lore collapse but with rebranding which underlines mobile platform
Only PU syllables make any other sense than just promotion
Lore collapsed much later when Pine S. Sohn left the team to become CEO of his own party
Lore is most probably shelved for better days if Sohn doesn't own any exclusive rights

Cuz now people need to grind to get to lvl 50 to get character hence increase the total player per match.
Before it was just login 1 day at 4th week and you can get full character for free.
They might bring lore back.....
But tbh I don't think if most of people ever read the lore.

There is nothing to read, that request isn't new for them. After Pine S.Sohn I don't see any employed person responsible for lore. They shelved storytelling entirely, it won't come back earlier than remastered Troi, dynamic weather & may be winter map if not gun updates shelved or cancelled since Alpha (many things returned even after Alpha as in-game files & then disappeared again after next scheduled update, & some things they even released after big break like legendary vehicle tokens)
I liked Bounty 2.0 teaser & think they should make short cinematics instead of those boring story missions
