At least there's some things you can actually self-diagnose and treat.
I have misophonia (extreme discomfort with sounds such as chewing, cardboard rubbing on itself, forks scraping plates, and even more-) and since being able to put a name to it, and know I'm not just weird, I've been able to adjust. Even my family is trying not to trigger it, when they remember.
