the red strings club. that game made me sob so hard. It's a very queer cyberpunk game with really nice pixel art
MOTHER 3
not a game that will be playable by the general public, but a couple of my classmates made an alt controller game that's played on a toaster
Bayonetta
All of the Yakuza series ๐ช
omori. great story, beautiful art, banger music. made me cry/10
Disaga 5

If you like monster catchers, coromon and monster sanctuary. If you want a more casual experience, slime rancher. If you want to play a roguelike, skul: the hero slayer and have a nice death
Oneshot and Hades
Hades so good
FR
haha you already know ๐
Very Good Game Series
Deltarune
Trepang2, if you're a fan of fast paced, violent run n gun FPS games
and in case you haven't gotten the message: it's violent, really violent

I was gonna say ๐พ Va-11 Hall-A!
I have Red strings club but haven't gotten around to actually play it, alongside Read Only Memories and one other similar cyberpunk indie vibe whose name slips me atm.
๐พ Coffee Talk
i was gonna ask that i am not gonna lie

๐พ The Friends of Ringo Ishikawa
๐พ Hylics (and Hylics 2)
๐พ Night In The Woods
๐พ Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
๐พ Her Story
๐พ robotsexpartymurder
It's interactive fiction so it's 98% text. (2% is for the karaoke scene music and the game's GUI)
๐พ Always Sometimes Monsters
๐พ Sometimes Always Monsters
๐พ Bluebird Of Happiness
๐พ One night, Hot springs (the trilogy)
Ooh I really want to play Her Story. We played a bit of a game that was made by the same studio during class and the narrative structure was so fucking cool
Is the game you played his newer ones? (Sam Barlow solo dev Her Story, so I'm assuming the new games are still under his name.) I recently tried the latest, Immortality, and the game mechanic is a way more complicated than Her Story and less intuitive so I haven't finished it.
Her Story's game mechanic is really cool but simple enough that I could and I got my non-gamer fam to play it.
Yeah it was Immortality!! It's such a cool way to tell a story
I didn't realize Her Story was a solo dev project. That's really impressive
I believe he has one game in between Her Story and Immortality. That one I haven't tried.
What I like about his games is that the game mechanic follows the lore not the other way round so among the three games, it's different.
Damn, I really gotta play all his games. Weird game narratives is MY SHIT
This is the most predictable recommendation, but I also loved Edith Finch
โ๏ธโ๏ธ
Linear narratives that can only be told through games are Very Cool
I was planning edith finch but somehow forgot to
It's very good and fun to analyze
It was one of the games that made me interested in game dev
Im forgetting some games atm that's impossible to ever adapt to any other medium. But I love those too!
I'm lowkey conceptualizing small concept games for so long, I'm just too lazy to start learning how to make them.
๐พ Elsinore
- Hamlet meets Groundhog Day
๐พ VirtuaVerse - cyberpunk point&click
๐พ Ikenfell - moderm magical TRPG queer characters
๐พ Baba is You
๐พ One Dreamer - coding within the game that's not boring
๐พ Littlewood - Stardew Valley lite
๐พ Maquette - non-Eucledian big brain time
๐พ Backbone - furry noir. dope jazz OST by my fave artist atm
๐พ The Longing - very cool concept; haven't played tho
๐พ Fit For A King
piggybacking off of the chat in hyperfixation, Hollow Knight
Zero Sievert
similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R, with a lil mix of tarkov as a 2d rogue like, it's fun, it's hard, and it's punishing, if ya want a challenge, the game's on steam
SILENT HILL 1, 2 & 3
Metal Gear Solid V: GZ & TPP
sky children of the light
Iโm really into Binding of Isaac again recently. Iโm trying to make everybody I know play it.
