#trying to figure out how the xp changed
125 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
my first idea is that maybe the bot took your level from mee6 and your message history from the last few months and calculated how much xp you would have, which is why beanut would gain less than a level, and i would gain 11
beanut has sent 4 messages in the last 2 months, and i have sent roughly 8k
if the bot just calculated the xp differently, then beanut and i would have gained xp at the same rate from our level at the time
so it wouldve looked like this: L*X (L being the user's level and X being the amount that the xp is multiplied)
but instead i gained 11 levels and beanut gained less than 1
so it might look something like this:
[L+M]*X (M being messages sent recently)
now obviously M wouldnt be exactly equal to the recent messages, because i would be a lot higher levelled if that was the case
who asked?
subject 1: beanut
science asked
I got more-
now leave me to my calculations
💀
messages sent in last 2 months: 4 (1 ignored)
subject 2: linguini
messages sent in last 2 months: 8k (most likely at least 4k ignored)
please go away
it might have bugged out but i dont think thats the case
I really doubt it had a reason
if anything
they might have had to convert the data and it screwed up due to bot error
well then im trying to figure out the error
nerd emoji
cry about it
subject 3: katil
messages sent in the last 2 months: 6k (most likely at least 2-3k can be ignored)
you can give feedback in a bit
lemme brainstorm on this for a little while tho
lol alr
wait holy shit i just found something
lol
they actually lost xp after the switch
maybe they took some xp from some and gave it to others accidently
96 messages in the last 2 months (roughly 50 can be ignored)
i dont think that would happen
they did it with a computer
and computers rely on math
so theres math behind it
yeah
but its also a discord bot
so someone did something with it
we dont know if the bots perfect
yeah they arent
but they rely on math
but in the end
they use math to determine how the xp is calculated
How does one even check their previous xp?
Ooh yeye
Ah I see
like you can get to it through the link
idk for how much longer tho
but you can't get any more links from the server
Oh dang
theory 2: the box
test subjects linguini and katil both have the box, which gives 1.5x xp with the large subscription
both received substantial increases to their levels when the levelling change was made
roughly 11 levels each
Pay to win /j
test subject 5: jade
/srs it literally is
TF HOW MUCH LEVELS IS THAT
500 messages sent in the last 2 months (250 can be ignored)
box increase 1.2x
test subject 6: lilith
messages sent in the last 2 months: 18,000
(9000 of which can be ignored)
no box multiplier
16 levels gained with the levelling change
100% of liliths messages are in the last 2 months
which is more proof of the recent messages giving more xp
the formula so far: [L+(M➗ 2)]*X
i had to use the divide emoji idk what else to use
no
im figuring it out myself
recording the old leaderboard in case it gets deleted
for future reference
malding?
math'
What am I doing here
Calculating how the xp boost works
read from the top if you would like
Bruh I'm literally in math class rn 😭
Oop more math
Im forcing you to watch Lin be a nerd emoji
this math is more important
I went from somewhere around 33 levels to 37 levels! it's quite strange, but I'm always open to some help I guess!
You can use the / symbol it represents division in algebra
oh thanks
nerd
I can answer this easily. The day this was announced was not the day that levels were transferred. The new leveling system was running in the background for quite some time.
Beanut is largely inactive, so when the levels transferred over, it was a direct transfer. And beanut didn't speak, so there was no increase to their levels.
However, other users did chat, and that is why their levels were higher in some places than others. There is no science behind it, really. The leveling system was simply running in the background for quite some time and others gained levels without knowing it until we announced it.
that makes complete sense
