Four ||I love how unreliable everything is so far||
Also, lowkey, I would kms if ||I had a mum like this. I get being worried/protective but this is crazy levels of paranoia||
I‘m getting anxious, probably because of ||the unreliable-ness of everything here and I‘m also sipping on some coffee lol||
Twelve ||“I’d like to remove your brain and examine it under a microscope” I‘m so sorry but I laughed||
Fifteen ||Gwynnie is so nice. Honestly I wasn‘t expecting an apology from her because of the joke she made last time but this was a nice surprise!||
Eighteen ||GIRL WTF
||
LMAO
I did not expect that
I finished!!
This book honestly felt like a panic attack waiting to happen for me, because ||of the constant switching between reality and dreaming. I still don‘t really know what happened for sure and I‘m a bit confused. Stine did such a good job of portraying an unreliable narrator for a children‘s book here because I genuinely did not expect anything that I read. So this whole time we were reading from the POV of Keith who is a monster blob?||
@wide cargo I finished “I live in your basement!”
Chapter 1
|| ohhh ouch!
The mother sounds exhausting. Sounds like that might induce fear in a child rather than a healthy lifestyle ||
Chapter 3
|| ewwww okaaaay this is creepy. This could be a story told at night by a campfire, this phonecall thing ||
Chapter 4
|| honestly, "losing ones mind" is one of the scariest scenarios to imagine so I am digging it so far||
Chapter 10
|| first of all wtf? Is Marco hallucinating all that?
Second of all: I think Gwynnie just wanted to say sorry and she comes across as a little rough and it was a misunderstanding
But overall I got no idea what is going on, theory so far is that Marco is hallucinating
not remembering stuff in the hospital can be quite common!, I heard that a lot from patients. At least for the ICU, sometimes when people came back to say thank you, they said that we saved their life but they couldnt remember a thing about the days they spent with us. So maybe someone should have told Marco that it can happen after a big injury and all that stress that memories get lost and might never fully return||
Chapter 12
|| wtf and there I thought he might be getting help but uhm ||
Chapter 18
|| this book is one big wtf ||
|| its the inside that counts I guess ||
finished
|| this was a fever dream, in the best possible way
honestly I never knew what was real and what wasnt, and there were always things that made me think "okay now THIS is reality" but then it wasnt. and losing ones mind is one of the scariest things I personally can imagine, and this was really the main spooky thing here. This and some other horrors like humans turning inside out
didnt expect the final twist, still confused with what happened at all - was a monster named Keith dreaming all this? How much is real?
I think this might be my favorite one from the slimy collection ||
My theory is that ||we’ve been in Keith’s mind hallucinating the whole time, but also that doesn’t really explain the fact that we saw the story in Marco’s POV in the beginning…||
So maybe I don’t have a theory
|| that was my guess, too... but then Keith must have memory loss, too? Someones brain got hit a bit too much here 🙈 ||
||Maybe at first we were reading from Marco’s POV but maybe he wasn’t the one that got hit by the bat and it was Keith instead?
|| I’m reaching btw
HAHA
|| maybe Marco and Keith switched places and now Gwynnie has a monster pretending to be a human so the monster can play Softball and the human has a break from his over-protective mom?
Okay I am just making stuff up at this point, there is nothing in the book that would prove my theory hahaha||
||Ngl I think my brain is too slow for that AHAHAH||
I finished the book yesterday and ||I'm still confused about what happens exactly. I never read horror, so I was curious. I had more fun than I expected trying to make sense of the book.||
||Here's my theory of what happens in the book. It's Keith's mother and not Marco's that has been putting every fear in the world in him, such as that doctors will want to study you if we go to the hospital (since he's not actually human), don't play with humans or you'll get hurt and so on. ||
||So he dreams he is Marco and there is a monster living in his basement. His dream is influenced by his mother teaching him to see danger everywhere, so when he meets himself it can only mean something bad since everything means danger. The same way the doctor wants his brain, Gwen wants to hit him with the bat and so on, the monster wants him to be his servant.||
@wide cargo I finished “I live in your basement!”
@misty ivy
I found it through filtering for the "Monster Blood" tag!, it wasnt visible for me otherwise, too
Oh, interesting. Thank you so much!!

Chap 1
||Another cocker spaniel as a pet...Hope nothing happens to this dog.||
Chap 3
||A kid named Keith calling and saying he lives in your basement is Hella creepy.||
Chap 8
||Is Marco having some problems after being hit with a bat? Or is Keith actually real?||
Chap 9
||Teachers are mean and demanding in the Goosebumps world. This teacher shouldn't have been hounding Marco on his hospital visit.||
Chap 10
||Again: is Keith actually real? Or something Marco is imagining?||
Chap 15
||I appreciate that Gwynnie just wanted to apologize to Marco. Especially since it didn't seem like it was done on purpose.||
Chap 18
||Wait, what?!
This seems extreme for Marco to just be imagining, but it seems so unreal.||
Chap 19
||This mom is so negative and worried about everything.||
Chap 20
||This is such a confusing story. Gwynnie is actually his sister? What is happening? Is this all really just a dream?||
Chap 25
||Either Marco has a crazy wild imagination or there's something else going on here.||
Chap 30
||This is all kinds of crazy.||
