I am close to finishing this! Work and school have been very hectic and this book provides a cozy getaway when I have the chance to read it
I think I am more than halfway through (maybe about 70%? sorry, I don't have my copy with me right now) and hopefully will be finished by the time this br ends. here are my thoughts so far (I wrote them down on my phone
)
||I waited to see if Roz might try to do some self-discovery about where she came from and why she ended up there and if the author will touch on feelings of disconnection from her but so far I am not seeing that.||
I also feel the same way as Jana, ||Roz's accidental motherhood is very brave of her but it is tainted because of her accidentally killing Gosling's entire family.||
||The animals coming together to take care of Roz and Gosling is probably my favourite part of the book. I'm an only child with a small family so having this togetherness to read about makes me feel less lonely. My favourite animal is probably the bear, she is very wise and I like that she disciplined her cubs when they harmed Roz and Gosling.||
I also love the illustrations!
I think I will answer the discussion question that is not spoiler-ed!
What do you think the story is really saying about the line between technology and nature?
||I think Peter Brown is trying to say that technology and nature can work together, or at least co-exist. But, I know in reality that when technology and nature come together it isn't always as wholesome as what is depicted in this book
