Conversation in #movies-shows-anime message about creating roles to ping related to different fandoms/interests, specifically Tolkien-related. I like this idea but I do see that it may be a little tough logistically. Opening a suggestion thread to discuss interest and feasibility

I was thinking we have a system where people propose roles and then you have to get so many votes to go through. That way we don’t end up with roles with like 3 people in them

I’d love this tbh! Idk if this is stretching too far or if it can be considered as well but we could maybe do some authors who have a fandom too? Stephen King comes to mind although I don’t read him but like I feel like those willing to be pinged on certain discussions can select the role and could be fun?

I think authors like Stephen King and Tolkien would be great, just because of the wide range of books and media related to the authors

I would also vote for Dune and George RR Martin, but honestly I don’t know if there’d be a ton of interest for GRRM. But there’s all the books and tv shows so I will nominate

What do we think about Disney in general? Is it too broad?

I also like the idea of keeping to the theme and saying the roles have to be book related in some way. This might kind of eliminate Disney, but we could do like Star Wars, which does have a lot of really good books. This would help the number of roles from getting overwhelming. But yeah I guess that might eliminate the Swiftie role too. Open to discussion here

although that isn't really disney exclusive all the time either, cause some of those are just fairytales

No there are, but like I said, Disney is such a broad category and it’s not like there are Disney books outside of movie-adaptations

This is a good idea, we might end up with too many roles at some point

We can stick to books, and even a few big, non-book fandoms? Swifties, kpop(?), video games, etc?
