#It - Stephen King
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Oh boyyyy here we go
I am so excited for this!!!
Same 😍
I’m so excited!!
I haven’t read this book yet, somehow
I’ve read like every Stephen king book but this one lol
Well this is my first Stephen King, soooooo I have high expectations.
yessss, I want to read it again
woohoo! happy to have everyone apart of this!
lots of people joined this one and the number keeps growing! I'll have questions and whatnot posted when it's closer to the start date. super hyped!
Can't wait!
I need to get a new one
My current copy is ripped
I'm gonna be doing the ebook this time around, cause I don't wanna hold the heavy book again lol
super excited for this!! I stg obc has turned me into such a Stephen King fanboy
i love it! you're 3/3 for me now too for BR! lol
Lol, welcome to the club
omg wait yeah! what can i say, the books youve been choosing are just right up my alley
~~we dont talk about go ask alice though
~~
How was Go Ask Alice?
nobody liked it in the br
we had fun talking about it though
O_o
It sounds interesting though
I nearly bought this edition shown in the announcement
For 50 dollars
I'm kind of a sucker for collectable items
i am to i get special editions but like they have to be pretty
and preferably signed
I only have one signed book
I need a Stephen King signed copy
OH WAIT
I have the perfect scheme
I bring my First Edition copy of The Bachman Books to Stephen King's house and force him to sign it
And get him to sign the first page of Rage
(who cares about the legal trouble of breaking into his house because I AM HIS NUMBER ONE FAN (hehehe Misery reference) because I'll have a signed King book)
it was interesting in the sense that it was absolutely insane
honestly if you're looking for smth to read that'll make you cackle at how stupid it is its absolutely perfect, its laugh out loud funny but not on purpose
absolutely flawless plan
Isn't it about a girl who runs away cuz of drug addiction O_o
I'm guessing the writing was bad
It'll work so well
Forget that I also have to cross a border
yeah without the context of the writing itself it sounds bad that i said its laugh out loud funny, the writing is horrifically bad nd unrealistic, like ||at one point her friend nd her run away like. cross country. nd set up a small business, it somehow goes well, nd then they just up and go back home for some reason?|| its genuinely just another case of an adult trying to write a teenager nd failing miserably nd the dark subject matter makes it a case of "if i dont laugh at this ill cry nd get very angry"
lol
It does sound ridiculous now
it rly is, the br was super fun but the book was defo not it
if youve got an afternoon and some braincells to kill id say go for it
trying to clear off any books I have remaining to finish for BR to commit my time to this since it's a choooonk of a book 🤡
Yessss hehehe I cleared off mine too so I'm ready 😁
hahaha same im in the process of trying to get stuff finished so I can read this as close to the beginning as I can, just so I can take it slow nd not have to rush this masterpiece
I think I have it for 2 months? of course I'll check in with everyone if there needs to be an extension
I hope I can finish in 2 months 🤣
I hope I can to lol I forget how long it took me the 1st time I read it
it took about a month. just checked my SG logs lol
That's awesome! I'm gonna definitely be reading other books along with it too, cause I feel like only reading that will make my brain hurt 🤣
they have this in my local library so now for the struggle of "do i read this 1k+ page book physically or do i listen to the audiobook"
as much as id love to read it physically i really am considering just getting the audiobook, i dont wanna burn myself out like i accidentally almost did with the stand
I want to read this book so badly but like the size
I know it sucks lol but I think you could do it! Just a little at a time
I just bought a better edition today
My old one was ripped and torn from when my brother read it
The 50 dollar one?
I wish. . .
I’ll send a pic
@edgy talon
My old edition which is sad and tattered
It’s nearly completely defaced
trust me, that's what kept me away from reading it for so long before. it quickly became my favorite book and still remains. there's absolutely no pressure! I started with a 2 month time line to finish and whoever needs more I can extend the date no problem!
that's the edition I read for the 1st time!
currently at the pool- I'll get starting discussion questions posted up in a bit
I'm gonna be starting this soon!
Also @spring harness I noticed it said you're currently reading too many damn books, I feel that 🤣
That's gonna be me soon
I'm gonna start when I finish The Road!
glad its a general consensus because me too
alrighty guys!! apologize for the late posting for discussion questions as this has already begun! busy weekend with softball tournaments but im focused now!!
gooood morning @muted dust @tired linden @drowsy cloud @slim ivy @wraith tundra @viscid sonnet @hazy cosmos @halcyon estuary @empty trench @edgy talon @vague rain @rigid jasper @surreal acorn @empty pumice @frosty zealot @river zenith @Loujainsaleh#5430
please ping me if you need me/need me to see something, otherwise i might miss it
here are some starting questions for ya! happy to have you here with us 🤡
-is this your first time reading It?
-have you seen any of the movies/mini series?
-do you have any expectations?
-what made you choose this BR?
- Nope I already read it once
- yes, I saw the movies and the mini series
- I don't know... I think it's scarier than I remember because I read it like 4 or 5 years ago
- I wanted to read IT again lately, so this is a perfect occasion
-is this your first time reading It?
It'll be my 2nd time!
-have you seen any of the movies/mini series?
Yep I've seen all of them
-do you have any expectations?
Maybe I'll pick up on some things I missed last time since the book is huge lol
-what made you choose this BR?
I wanted to reread it and I love Stephen King books!
- I did begin it a month ago and got like 1/3 of the way through but then i saw your br request and decided to start over
- I did see the movie but i dont remeber any of it
- Just to be scary since its a horror
- I was going to read the book anyway
-is this your first time reading It?
no, this will be my 2nd time
-have you seen any of the movies/mini series?
multiple times, both are within my top 5
-do you have any expectations?
im not sure, always a possibility of catching something i didn't before .. i might skip the history of Derry chunks this time as i read the entire thing my 1st time .. idk yet though
-what made you choose this BR?
this is my absolute favorite book ive ever read. ive been itching for a visit back to Derry and summertime just made the vibes feel stronger and wanted to invite a crew along with me!
Yes it is my first time reading it
I have seen the movies! I saw the first one and the second one! I thought if the movies were good then the book has to be to right?
Yes, I do… Uhhh to be some what like the movie…
The fact that I had already seen the movie and it was good.
I saw you were reading it prior and was hoping you'd join in! 💙
-Yes!
-No, but I will watch them after
-I expect a lot of strangeness. The only thing I know about is “that scene” and Pennywise and the infamous Georgey scene.
-I just had to read IT, I’ve already read around 35 Stephen King books and somehow have not read IT
dang I should have asked if people are familiar with that scene or not .. I don't wana press on it too much but I do have some theories about why it was written at all to either be discussed privately or openly (with spoiler blocking of course) I'll read the room when that comes up lol
- Yes!
- Nope, too scared

- I expect It to give me goosebumps and shivers

- Because the movie was so hyped up! My friends even set up a watch party before because they liked it a lot. I'm not a horror movie enjoyer, so I'll just read the written version

I excited for all the 1st time readers here! hope it exceeds your expectations and more!
- yep first time
- ive seen the 2017 movie
- not really. im hoping its good!
- i dont really remember much of the movie other than the clown. i have a goal to read all of stephen kings books so i might as well join in on this and knock out It!
hoping to start this tonight or pool side tomorrow
- yep, it is!!
- I have! I've seen IT chapter 1 and 2 nd loved them both nd I've seen some of the mini series nd wasn't super impressed it was still cool though. the older movie is alright too, I just think I love the graphics of the new movies a lot!
- mostly just that I'm gonna enjoy this! I've enjoyed all the other King books I've read so far, so I expect this is gonna be enjoyable too

- Well first of all its a nyx br, I had to keep up my streak
also it's just good motivation to read these books. I enjoy talking about them a lot too nd hearing about people's own interpretations on stuff. I've been saying I'm gonna read this for like 4 years now I think? nd I've just never done it or got round to it
- It's my first time reading it (sounds like a bad pun)
- nope
- I know nothing about it being a classic and having something to do jokers (it still sounds like a pun and it's annoying)
- The thick book that's been sitting the top shelf of my table for months
I've started a couple days ago and still on Part 1
There is just so much going on 🤣
I'm gonna power through a couple other brs that are slightly shorter nd then get started on this as soon as I get my monthly credit on audible
might end up pushing some other brs out the way for this one though HAHAHA
I've not read a Stephen King book for like 2 whole books now im getting withdrawal already ~~I finished the shining on like. thursday/Friday I think I have a problem
~~
Hahaha yeah I'm alternating between this book and the rest of my brs
I cam finally fully commit as I finished a Br Yesterday so I started this a tiiiny bit last night.
it's hard to explain my feelings when reading It .. it's like Xmas morning when you're a kid .. idk .. this did weird things to me lol
Lol yeah same there's just so much going on 🤣
I'm almost finished part 1
ch 1-2
|| that was all so rough to read .. I felt more of a connection between Bill and Georgie from the few pages than I did from the movies .. the scene with Adrien and Don was rough too .. people suck. i loved the Shawshank reference though from the clever bastard 🤣 ||
one thing i did notice-this is a spoiler for if you HAD READ THIS BEFORE if this is your 1st time don't read spoilers- || when Georgie went down the basement for the paraffin and whatnot, he sees a box of car wax I think with a turtle on it and questions where he's seen it before-does this have anything to do with the acid trip of the ending? ||
currently in the middle of ch 3 and ||the amount of characters mentioned is insane
im not sure i'll be able to remember everyone
||
there're a lot! I feel as the story goes it'll be better following/remembering
ch 3
|| i forgot how rough this one can get at tines .. Beverly's phone call got to me the most but that empowering feeling she must have had right before she got out, damn ...
I don't think Stan was ever able to handle any of it as a kid, hence, how he ended up. I'm getting ahead of myself here, but even the back story of when they were kids, it just didn't seem for him.
Ben and those friggin lemon snooters omg ..
I thought it was interesting how Bill's scars and stutter came back after his phone call! his poor wife stuck being on the outside watching him struggle with everything and there's nothing she can do to help .. ||
finished part 1 .. I'm not sure if I wana read the interludes at the end all together or straight through 🤔 I might try all at the end since 1st time I read straight through everything
Chapter 2: ||Okay that was sudden. I didn't expect a gay person to be killed like less than 50 chapters into the book! Derry seems like a nice town at first (just forget Georgie and Pennywise. . .) and then you jump right into the homophobic and violent side of Derry and the peaceful facade crumbles away.||
yeah the beginning doesn't really hold back on certain things ..
i shoulddd be starting this tomorrow, or at least soon
my audible monthly credit comes through so ill be getting it nd then starting reading it
awesome! I got a good chunk in pool side last night I'm starting to get pulled in
down the road I can put an extension in for anyone who needs it. I think I have this currently for 2 months?
Is it bad that I honestly didn't expect this book to start out really good?
despite the contents of Chapter 2 lol
I'm gonna try to finish Part 1 tomorrow
up to chapter 6
|| man, fuckin Henry Bowers .. i don't think i ever disliked a character as much as i hate this damn kid.
i honestly love how Ben, Bill, and Eddie just automatically became friends within that not awkward silence they shared. it was like a collective feeling of 'i understand you, you understand me, you're one of us' .. i love the friendships that develop.
the friggin mummy Ben sees and Bill dealing with the photo album in Georgies room, shits starting to get a little cray cray 👀 ||
where you at?
I'm like only 80 pages in lol
hello everyone! decided to join this BR a little later...but VERY excited. 🤡
- This will be my first time reading the book.
- Ive seen the movies both old and new. I will say I do love all the adaptations of the story that I’ve seen.
- I actually am hoping this book is as scary as I am hoping. I feel like the movies relied heavily on how scary Pennywise can come across in person.
- Im a huge fan of Stephen King and finally wanted to check this book off my list. I hate how I saw the movies before reading the book lol but maybe the movie adaptations will help with my imagination while reading lol
Ch. 1 || Okay...I was not expecting this at all. Like way to get us invested in Bill and Georges brotherhood and then just end it suddenly 😭 MAN, I felt like I could feel Georgie's fear while in Pennywise's presence, though. The way Pennywise tried to make him feel comfortable before killing him...What a sick character right from the beginning! SIDE NOTE: the first chapter really sucked me in lol ||
Up to Part 1, Chapter 3 : The Shadow Before (Six Phone Calls)
I've been reading this on and off, it's ofc a reread for me so I haven't got too much to say.
||I will say that as far as iconic opening chapters, this is it, this is the peak. Not just by Stephen King standards, I'm going to say in literature in general.
||
I'm gonna go to my own little Barrens today!
I shall take pictures and show you all lol
I haven't got to that part yet, but I just know it exists because I've seen a bunch of movie clips
Can anyone else see these images?
not unless i download the,
Agh
Okay I'll try to change it so that you don't need to download them
Taking forever to download
NOO
I'll try again
NOO
Doesn't wanna work
I guess you'll just have to download to see it, sadly
ugh i know .. || espeically compared to the movies, i don't think you really feel their bond as you do in the book .. that 1st chapter is just so damn cruel but just pulls you right in to the shit show, lol ||
i still couldn't see after downloading
I love Ben so much
Ben, Beverly, and Bill are my fav
The three B's
Also I'm watching the movie right now because I couldn't wait lol
Also I'm watching
the movie right now because
I couldn't wait lol
Dark Tower series spoilers, whole IT book/movie spoilers : ||I love seeing all the turtle references in the movie. I wonder what significanse it will have, because I remember that at the end there's something to do with the Great Turtle. My brother told me about it and I've watched the Dead Meat kill count lol. But i think it's more in the book, I dunno.||
I didn't know thay was in TDT too. there was a reference in the 11st chapter too if you caught it
I'm not there yet
I'm about 260 pages in now
Or
280
Yeah 280 pages in
Movie Criticism Time: ||THEY CANNOT BE IN FIFTH GRADE NO WAY! The more I watch the more i realise they literally cannot be 11 years old in this movie||
Ooooh, okay
It's fine lol
What was the reference??
Actually
Don't say I shall find it on my second time reading this book
I'm gonna read The Dark Tower in chronological order
Anyways, I'm gonna get back to the movie now
lemme know when you find it. you'll have to go back as it was in the very beginning
I take it back
It says that ||they're 13||
Yup, that'll be for my re-read time lol
I mean, I might just do it this summer
Okay just checking in that I'm up to Part 2, Chapter 9
||They really missed so much nice relationship building from the books in the movies- Like how Bev, Richie and Ben went to the movies together, or how Bill is seen by the boys. Or even Ben showing off his architecual skills with the creek! I also kind of like how much cheesier Pennywise's transformations are in the book.|| Basically the book is just better. Book > Tim Curry TV series > Bill Skarsgard movies.
I honestly like the BIll Skarsgard movie so far
But I do like the book better, yes
The thing I don't really like about the movie are the jumpscares and cheesy little moments
As well as ||the weird vibrating cinamatography when Pennywise is fighting with the kids.||
I generally just think that the Tim Curry series is just more enjoyable because of how close it is to the book - the Bill Skarsgard movies are fun but there's a lot of soul missing
Oooh
I should watch the Tim Curry one if I can
100% agree to all of this
i think i enjoyed the Tim Curry one more than the Skarsgard ones .. i love them all, but i loved certain things about the OG
they both captured different aspects of the book and i think the mini series went 1 way and the chapter 1 & 2 movies a complete other way
finished chapter 7
|| think my favorite was when they were sharing their stories of IT encounters. holding something like that in and knowing you're not alone had to be such a relief for them to get it out and knew someone believed them ||
It's ya girl, checking in at the start of Part 3 Chapter 10.
Derry: The Second Interlude
||YO I FORGOT THAT HALLORAN WAS ONE OF THE FOUNDERS OF THE BLACK SPOT. It's always fun to find references to the expanded King universe. Poor Dick has been through it man|| - Doctor Sleep spoiler :|| Being sexually abused by his grandfather then haunted by his grandfather|| The Shining spoilers: ||going to war, surviving The Black Spot hate crime, then going on to The Overlook and nearly getting his face smashed in by Jack Torrence... ||
||Still the interlude chapters are great; the world building around Derry is just fascinating. It's interesting that the Skarsgard movies included a lot of the imagery from The Black Spot fire for what Mike is afraid of.||
you are flying through 😆
I'm gonna read a lot today, hopefully
I wish I could. it's rainy perfect reading weather and I'm stuck working
ugh I know
especially for this read too.
I was reading it a while ago during a thunderstorm, best experience hehehe
And then there was a tornado warning
I really love how there's this general like, stale-ness in the air in Derry. just the whole scenery and everything involved, not just the story line or characters, there's just something so, so off .. idk how to explain it when it's all something I feel ..
up to part 3 chapter 10
spoilers for newer movie comparison involving Stan || the picture frame scene scared me more than the sandpipe scene in the book involving Stan's encounter. continuing to be obsessed with the losers club and their growing bond ||
I found an error on one of the pages OoO
I forgot which page it is, but there's a quotation mark where it's not supposed to be
And it's face the wrong way
facing*
I finished Chapter 8 and over halfway through Chapter 9
||Beverly's dad is such a creep. . . I hope he dies.||
@muted dust @tired linden @drowsy cloud @wraith tundra @viscid sonnet @halcyon estuary @empty trench @edgy talon @vague rain @rigid jasper @empty pumice @frosty zealot @river zenith
hey all just checking in! seeing if anyone's gotten started reminding to post and progress so you can get points when finishing!
I seen posts from @slim ivy @surreal acorn & @hazy cosmos which is awesome
let me know if you're you're opting out of reading so I don't bug you with pings 😆
appreciate everyone being here in anyway they choose! just don't want you missing out on points 🤘
for those who have started-
- general thoughts so far? 👀
- any favorite characters or scenes? ❤️
- ||It's scarier than I remembered... but still amazing ❤️ it's a horror masterpiece ||
- ||the Beverly's bathroom scene is my favorite, I don't know why... and Ben is my favorite character ||
planning on starting this soon! I've been in an audiobook slump lately ~~idk how that works either tbh
~~ so I'm either gonna get it on kindle nd start reading it on there or I'll just try to suck it up a bit
that scene is definitely creepy!
no worries or pressure!
just wanted to gage where everyone was at just so no one misses out on points. if they're reading that's awesome but there have to be progression posts so they can get points at the end (you know the deal 😆)
General Thoughts: I did not expect this book to actually scare me! It's one of the only ones to do so besides The Shining, Salem's Lot and Let the Right One In.
Favourite Scenes/Character: I love the characters and I resonate the most with Ben and Richie. Beverly is third, then Bill, Eddie, Stanley and Mike. I haven't seen much of Mike yet. My favourite scene though. . . ||There's two! The Beverly blood sink scene and the part where Ben is walking home and sees It on the ice with balloons that go against the wind. That scene was horrifying and I was reading it at night. . .||
Do I need to read all the interludes
I'm at the second one
||So much talking and it's very boring snoring||
I know. I read them all the 1st time I read the book, this time I'm skipping them but reading them in order when I finish
I'm pretty sure they have a lot to do with other books and the SK universe
Checking in at Part 5, Chapter 19
Part 4, Chapter 16
||See, while I know that they did this scene in the more modern movie, nothing covers how upsetting this whole chapter is for poor Eddie. His mother is another terrifying element in this book because she has something that is a real world nightmare - Munchausen By Proxy. Though I will admit the 'fucking gazebos' bit still makes me laugh from the movie.
||
Chapter 4, Chapter 17
||I hate this chapter so much. In a book full of unhinged and upsetting scenes, the description of that dog trying to escape the refrigerator always bums me out tremendously. Patrick Hocksteader is one of the most unsettling characters that King has written and he's only really present for less than 20 pages in this book. ||
started this last night!! stephen king really does like to waffle on sometimes
im enjoying it though, i know its gonna get better too so its not too bad
if i could survive the waffle in the stand nd still love it, i can survive it here
It's like listening to your dad or grandpa tell you a long ass story

id never thought of that but its absolutely spot on
|| I'm not ready to revisit that sick prick ||
I also agree with you on Eddie's mom .. || all these kids had fucked up family's for the most part ||
||Mike's family stands out as nice, same for Richie and Stan's too actually.||
||Bev, Eddie and poor Bill post-Georgie's death. Not forgetting that Ben's mother was actively enabling him to get really fat.
I'll throw in Henry Bowers too for good measure but that gets into the whole debate on if Henry would have stood a chance if Butch wasn't his dad. ||
|| yeah the whole Henry and butch thing is definitely debatable. he's either s product of his environment or just a bad egg .. he was a weak minded kid who was easily influenced by evil, as misery loves company .. and yes Bill post Georgie family is very sad .. they all encounter different evils within their own homes and its unfortunate they all encounter so many things alone and together ||
UM UM
WHAT DID I JUST READ
WHAT WHAT WHAT
WHY STEPHEN KING
WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY
IM NOT EVEN TO THAT SCENE YET BUT THIS ONE IS JUST SO DISGUSTING
IM NOT EVEN TO
THAT SCENE YET BUT THIS ONE IS
JUST SO DISGUSTING
||Why does he have to describe Beverly's weird father/IT shapeshifting into her dad wanting to literally have sex with her?? I beat you because I want to FUCK you JESUS CHRISTTTTT STEPHEN KING I DON'T NEED TO KNOOOWWWWW THAT!||
Don't click spoiler unless you've passed Chapter 11
yeah that was, intense .. i will say, just continue to brace yourself 😬
up to chapter 13 .. || Tom is absolutely horrible. ugh this is when things really start to turn and get dark .. friggin Henry Bowers was right where he deserved to be and escapes .. really crazy how pennywise appears as what individuals fear most .. || I love this damn book so much
General IT movie spoilers (new and old)
||I really really appreciate what Skarsgard did but come the fuck on Tim Curry is a literal 1:1 to what book Pennywise is about. This thing is fucking with them and having a fantastic time doing it, its doing what it can to make them as afraid and uncomfortable as possible but as the same time it's weirdly hilarious, disgusting and witty at times??? Skarsgard had none of that going on.||
I feel bad for the brick of a book that's staring at me, waiting to be read, but I think it'll have to wait longer for it
@spring harness I'll be very busy in August and I most probably won't be reading this one. I might drop out of the other two BRs I showed interest in and read just this, I'll just have to see what happens. Don't count me out just yet, but I simply wanted to let you know that I might not end up reading it
All done
||Is this book controversial? Yes. Does this have chapters that have aged poorly, are morally dubious, downright bizarre or just straight up uncomfortable? Absolutely. Do I love this book? More than you could know. I am not even going to bother getting into certain chapters that are infamous. We know they exist. We know they're strange. Does that change that this book is so much more than just a scary story? No. Absolutely not. I will defend this book, bizarre as it is for the ultimate tale of friendship, love, what it means to be brave, the fears that dominate us in childhood and shape us as adults, overcoming said fears with the guiding hands of the ones we love and facing up against the ugly reality of not just things that are so much bigger than us but also even growing up itself.
I wished as a kid that I could have had friends like the 7 and I remember weeping through my first read during the final two chapters as they began to forget again. There are so many iconic characters from Stephen King's works but Pennywise sits as one of the strangest but most interesting creations he has come up with. I stand by that if you want to see a 1:1 recreation of this book, the TV series/movie featuring Tim Curry is the way to go. It's cheesy but it's suitably cheesy for this kind of read. ||
no worries!!! do whatever works best for you! ❤️
i agree with this .. || especially the scene where Ben is older and at the library, and Tim Curry is doing the refrigerator and prince albert jokes and the friggin laugh he does?! i looooooved the clown he portrayed. Skarsgard was a much darker take which i also love any day of the week, but Tim Curry was just
||
||I think Skarsgard was too scary. Like, he didn't frighten me, but like you said, Tim Curry was like. . . making Pennywise not seem scary, but scary at the same time. And in the book, Pennywise is like laughing and making fun of them too. I like the newer IT adaptation better than the old one (I actually had a chance to watch it gberhwgberhjk), but Tim Curry was more Pennywise-y than Skarsgard. Skarsgard was more playing into the alien space demon role.||
||I Shall imitate laugh. . . MM HA MM HA MM HA||
Finished Part 3!
So fucking good
I love this book so much
What I have to say is: ||TOM YOU IDIOT BITCH I HATE YOU DIE GO DIE IN A HOLE I BET YOU EAT POO FOR DINNER. YOU TOO HENRY BOWERS I HATE YOU||
The ending to Part 3 was very good
But now I'm on edge
350 pages left!
This book. . .
has made me feel every emotion possible so far
Disgust, horror, amusement, sadness, happiness, anger and suspense
Anxiety, I mean
Not suspense
Anxiety
I can't get over irt
it*
wow you are flying through!
Yes yes, drives
I never thought I could hate a character more than Henry Bowers
But I do
I never thought I
could hate a character more
than Henry Bowers
HAIKU BOT IF YOU SPEAK ONE MORE TIME
I PROMISE I WILL FIND YOU
AND I WILL NIBBLE UPON YOUR CHEEKS
Get excited! There's someone worse!
WHAT
WHAT
WHAT
WHO CAN POP UP IN THE LAST 300 PAGES
Because. . .
||Patrick Hockstetter is terrible||
||I hate him to my guts. He killed his baby brother when he was FIVE??!?!!! Crazy bobazy.||
TRUE.
im going to work out on my own today, so im gonna listen to the audiobook while im working out! mostly just when im doing cardio, somehow im not sure if this is the best motivation when lifting but still
ill update thoughts nd my progress either while im listening or when i get home
actually sounds like a really good idea, especially if you reach certain parts during lol
currently engulfed in chapter 13
chap 3, bills part: ||the dig on British sports was funny to me as a brit who's watched American soccer nd compared its absolutely lame
but also Bill is giving me such... main character vibes? I loved him in the 2017 nd 2018 movies but im just finding him so annoying in his classes||
i forget, @drowsy cloud , is this your 1st time reading this?
I really feel the book gave way more value to each character. feel like a lot of things were glossed over in the films (not knocking them. they're all high up on my favorite movies list) the book just offers so SO much more.
yesss it is!!! I watched both of the newer movies nd I intend on watching the old movie when I've finished the book
I defo think there's more character to them already!
I'm gonna spoiler this just in case but ||the joke in the chapter 2 movie when king makes a cameo in the shop nd bill buys the bike for him, nd he's reading one of bills books nd he says like "I didn't like the ending" or smth? it's funny but now hearing more about bill as a writer it feels like a reflection on king nd his own works/status as a writer.||
I think what most made me think this is when bill says like ||" why can't stories just be stories" nd saying shit about how not everything should be sociopolitical or smth
||
haha nice catch there! I was screaming out loud at that part 🤣
AGH same
Or
Wait I think I'm more ahead than you
Oh wait I'm on Chapter 18 O_o
ah yeah so you're way into the insanity
I hated in the beginning of chapter 13
|| where Henry murdered Mike's dog .. || that was tough but I know shit gets worse ..
I'm looking forward to discussing the end with yall
Oh yeah that part was horrible
But I think the worst part, so far
oh boy .. buckle up
Is when ||Patrick Hockstetter killed his brother when he was FIVE YEARS OLD, also describing how Patrick was jerking off Henry???????||
||And also the description of Patrick killing the neighbourhood cats and dogs in the refrigerator is just. . . disgusting. It was horrible. Agh.||
he was the absolute worst ..
Also, random, but it was so humid on the beach and my books weren't used to it
So now my copy of IT is a little warped
OK im on chap 5 rn in part 2, nd my fave character so far is ben!! i relate to him a lot nd i like bill too. i can defo see what you mean Nyx when you said that ||the characters have so much more depth than they had in the movies, specifically because i remember not really caring about ben, but he has so much more... character i guess now? same with beverly actually. i feel like in the movie she was just. the girl. nd like the sad abused damsel, esp chapter 1 nd like the love interest for bill nd to a bit of a lesser extent, ben (even if he clearly was more in love with her, they just didnt focus on it much past the start iirc) so now seeing her being developed more, even before her like "child" chapter nd not just being the hot girl||
no serious big spoilers or anything, v general but i just didnt wanna risk it
exactly!!
gonna keep listening while i organise some stuff before dinner
im hoping to make some decent progress today tbh, ive been a bit shit with reading lately
I finished
Well, like 2 hours ago I finished lol
I did not expect an ending like that
Reading "That Scene" felt criminal
Especially when I was in public
AT THE BEACH
WITH MY PARENTS
shivers
||"Beverly felt Ben was too big for her" or the line like that. . . THAT WAS DISGUSTING! URGH! You're 11 years old. . . that scene was literally just child p@rn||
Asides from that, very yummy book
It was delicious
I want a turtle now too
You could very much tell Stephen King was on cocaine towards the end of this book
I must get The Gunslinger as a BR
Or else OBC will make me sad
Sad as an empty turtle shell
ah yeah .. I remember the 1st time with that scene. I have idea to somewhat rationalize why the hell that happened, but there's just so much more to the book than just that part lol .. the ending really threw me through a loop though ..
Same. . .

hey happy Tuesday!
How are we all coming along? i know a couple has finished here are some progress questions- **PLEASE remember to use spoiler tags! 😃 **
-has anything stuck out to you? i.e. specific scenes, characters, vibes, anything
-do you have any guesses as to what's going to happen from where you are to the end?
-overall, how are you feeling?
some questions if you have finished~
-what affected you the most, if anything?
- did anything actually scare/freak you out?
-how would pennywise appear to you?
-|| like I said the Beverly's bathroom scene... and I don't know, the story of the Turtle maybe, I find it so magical and poetic... the IT origins too... and Ben in general||
-|| it would be a sort of a spider or something related to the dark and loneliness... I don't know exactly||
I have finished!
- Yes. That scene. And the scene where ||Patrick jerks off Henry and then gets killed by those leech things, as well as the part in Patrick's memories explaining how he killed his baby brother when he was only 5.||
- I want a sequel. Now.
- Disturbed. One of the only books to succesfully disturb me lol
OH WAIT I LITERALLY JUST MISSED THE BIGGEST SCENE IN THE BOOK
||The part where Derry sinks into the canal and completely falls apart and gets destroyed.||
||The Beverly blood sink scene is pretty traumatisding too lol||
The thing that affected me the most might've been how ||all the adults forgot everything once leaving Derry. Same with the idea that the whole town was on top of an alien crash-site O_o||
||Pennywise would appear to me as. . . I dunno. How do you embody the fear of darkness??? He also might appear as a sick person vomiting all over me O_o, kinda like Eddie's leper.||
geeze .. Apocalyptic Rockfight ch 13- || forgot how this was such a screwed up scene. movies kind of made light of it and entertaining. Henry is just, ugh, fuckin crazy .. ||
- OOO OK YES SO im up to chapter 7 (part 2) nd i think the ||very fucked up nature of the town itself nd the people in it really stuck out to me. youve got extremely twisted bullies like Henry Bowers, absolutely horrific parents like the step father of dorcy (?) nd edward (i think thats their names) as well as Bev's dad nd Eddies mum. theres so much shit like... behind the scenes within the town nd it feels intentional. like maybe ITs presence has twisted the people within Derry||
- i do kinda know whats gonna happen because of watching both the new movies so i wont answer this one because of bias

- im having fun!!! ive mostly been listening while im at the gym to help me get through cardio, but im finding it hard to stop once ive moved onto lifting because i just get so hooked

king's character building will never not be amazing to me
esp in his longer books, i think his amazing characterisation really shines through because he can truly explore these peoples minds nd get you to really just fall in love with them
I still have a loooonnnngggg way to go because I'm still in Part 2
I'll answer with what I know so far
||- I guess the most memorable would be the suspense vibe, as they gathered again for the "childhood reunion"
- Nope. I do know that there are 2 parts of the movie and I am nowhere near the end of part 1 of the movie. I have read the movie spoiler about someone's dying later in the ending
- Its very spooky and tbh I'm pretty scared to read it at night
||
I don't think I'll finish this on time tho. It's almost the end of August and I have school stuff to work on
if anyone needs an extension i can request more time! no worries on that ❤️
up to the middle of chapter 16
|| i forgot all about the smoke house ritual they did-that would have been cool to see in action in the movies, there really was soooo much more in this chonk of a book and i just love getting into all the disturbing details of everything. i find it so cool that the theory of IT being around for years and year and years before their time, to me that's just
there's always going to be fear in something no matter what, so it'll always have something to feed off of ..
idk why the rock fight bothered me so much this time around 😆 might be hormones or something but the parent in me just felt all the emotions feeling so bad for the kids.
i love how the power of 7 just connected them all in an unspoken way .. will forever be my favorite part and the heartbreaking feeling when you flip the last page that it's all over, until Derry calls you back again .. ||
and here it starts .. chapter 17, Patrick's chapter ..
I'm definitely gonna need an extension nyx! I've been in a bad reading flunk lately
Uh oh
That part. . .
Traumatised me the most, I think lol
-
what affected you the most, if anything?
||Patrick Hoffsteader's chapter continues to be one of the most upsetting things I've read, this includes certain scenes in The Troop. I never look forward to getting to this chapter - I'm not really phased much by the certain scene involving Bev and the boys (it's weird and out of nowhere not denying that) but the idea of that poor dog... And what he did to his brother...|| -
did anything actually scare/freak you out?
||I'm not sure about scared but I used to think about the voices in the drains a lot when I read this as a kid. Conceptually it's so simple but such a eerie piece of imagery.|| -
how would pennywise appear to you?
||
|| This ain't even a joke.
no problem chick!
if i could ask SK 1 thing, it might be questioning why this man is so obsessed with farts 😆 i swear every book has some scene or mentioning
yeah its weird af
its like with his ||Oedipus... thing, like freud would be proud LMAO||
i agree with the Patrick chapter .. || reading that pregnant, i think was worse for me than last time with Avery .. and then his father seeing the puddles from his boots and knowing Patrick had something to do with it and never did a thing ... hard to feel any sort of empathy for what comes of Patrick after the fridge .. ||
for the scare/freak out- || the drains terrified me both book and movies. for yearrrrrrrssss as a kid i showered facing the drain paranoind a red balloon was going to make an appearance ||
now im excited for the patrick chapter
an extension would be nicee
Don't be. . .
it's morbid excitement, I just need to know whats got everyone so freaked out
I put a request in for September 15th! of we need to go past that I'm sure it won't be a problem 💙
ohh just you wait ..
chap 8: ||ritchie saying one of the reasons he liked bev is that she always has cigs has got to be the realest reason I've ever heard for someone to like another person, even if I've quit smoking, me too Ritchie
||
BR has been extended!!
New BR duration: <t:1688169600:D>-<t:1694736000:D>
starting part 5 chapter 19
I'm not sure which was worse .. Patrick's chapter or chapter 19 ..
|| I think the most frightening scene so far might be Beverly's father after her and then Bowers and crew .. I can't fathom the amount of fear Beverly had to have had in that moment .. the fact no one around can ever help these kids gets to me a lot too .. they have no one to turn to for help besides themselves. I know its enough for them, for the most part, but that was so much weight for those kids to bare ..
Henry's really lost his shit too .. kid never had a chance .. ||
I'm honestly sad I finished this book
Like over a week ago
And I'm still sad about it
I wished it was longer
that was exactly how I felt the 1st time. it left such an emptiness being finished
92% finished .. into the home stretch!
I can send pictures of errors I found now
So that one is from way at the end
It says “Child” instead of “Chüd”
That one just have a random quotation mark for no reason
Also here’s a nice quote
It’s also closeish to the end
woo, finished!
up to ch 6 now, but ch 5 ||when bill looked at the album and see george's eyes moving- i'm so glad i didnt see the movie because i dont think i could ever recover
||
HAHAHA FRRRR
The more I read the messages here the more I become glad about deciding to read the as my first Stephen King novel
I'm unimaginably insensitive to weird and gorry stuff, so I'm interested to see what my thoughts on this book will be when I read it
omg I'm excited for you lol
How long does it take before the "horrible/weird" stuff starts?
well the worst of the worst is towards the end .. but there are scattered parts that are pretty scrwscrewed up throughout. where are you currently?
Haven't started it
.
oh no worries. yeah you'll come across disturbances along the way. but as mentioned towards the end is where it's totally screwed
ahh yess I do remember you saying that now
Would it be bad if I stayed unhinged even after I finished reading the book?
Idk how bad it is, in fact I don't know anything about it except that there's something to do with clowns, and I was wondering if I'd finally be a certified psychopath if I got through this book without flinching once
I wouldn't judge 🤷🏻♀️
I am curious to know how you feel when you do read it though-keep me in mind to update lol
I CAN FINALLY SHARE PICTURES OF THE BARRENS BY MY HOUSE
There’s a weird pipe under it
Well, two pipes
One of them became visible recently due to a miniature land slide during the winter run off a year ago
The other was always showing
It’s always vibrating and there’s miniature pipes leading to it
Here’s a random sewer pipe in the nearby town
OoO I need to delete that it has the town name
YOOOO SMEAGY THATS COOL AF I'm jealous
dude thats super cool
imagine going on a picnic there nd sitting reading with a flask of tea
I wish I had an area like that around me .. to suburbs-y here
The last picture is in a town OoO
Kinda like Derry, honestly
But the first two is all around my house
just put on chapter 1 to watch ❤️
OOOOOO
I honestly really liked the movie gbgehjkrhb
I just need to see Chapter 2
my youngest asked to put it on 🤣🤣
meanwhile her heads shoved behind a pillow
I can't remember in the mini series if !|| Beverly cuts off her hair? || that didn't happen in the book and was curious if that was added to both adaptations
||She didn't cut off her hair in the miniseries||
okay so just the newer movie then. thank you! couldn't remember
okay so just the
newer movie then. thank you!
couldn't remember
oh jesus 🤣🤦🏻♀️
i will say that did confuse me a bit, since i watched the newer movies first so ||i was thinking "wait so she doesnt actually cut her hair?" but then i think the relationship between her nd her dad is a bit different than in the new movies||
iirc ||her mum is dead in the new movies nd her dad regularly SAs her nd its like. implied that its because she reminds him of her mum, but with where i am in the book now (chapter 9) her mum has asked her if her dad has ever touched her but nothing has really come of it||
yeah the newer movies I'm noticing are different with a few aspects with things like that
movies also changed || how pennywise appears to the kids || won't go into too much detail there if you haven't covered all of that in the book yet
i will say initially i was like "damn thats kinda shit" that they left stuff out nd it made me dislike the movie a bit for it, but then i was thinking about it nd like... its a 1k+ page book, liberties are going to be taken
I know-i am so critical with things like that
yesss i noticed that too! ive not seen all of it yet ||its just stans i think that i havent seen yet?|| but ||iirc the only one thats the same so far is eddie with the leper, but in the movie i think it was more like a mummy/zombie figure while in the book its a homeless man? || i kinda wish in the movies theyd kept ||ritchie nd bill seeing the werewolf|| because i thought that was absolutely dope
yeah dude that whole scene in the book was intense!!!
and yeah for eddie in the movie || it was a gross ass homeless diseased thing .. which I guess still fits in the book, but mummies were Ben's thing and in the movie Ben sees a kid from the Derry history book he checks out .. ||
OHH RIGHT YEAH ||got them a bit mixed up there lolol||
||its interesting because iirc ben sees the pictures move too, but then i dont think bill sees georgies pictures? i know he sees georgie nd stuff, but i dont think theres pictures with him that move, its ben who sees the derry history book pictures move||
I already passed that scene in the movie and can't remember if he saw the book or not lol.
but yes you're right about Ben
i really need to rewatch the movies tbf its been a while since ive watched them! might have to once im done with the book
it's making me forget things from the book lol
I do prefer movie Butch to book Butch though
but then that does take away from || Henry's straight insanity ||
Same
yesss agreed!
I already forgot that if in the book ||Henry killed his dad||
yeah I think it's similar to the movie with that scene with || the mailbox and balloon but in the book it comes from Bob Gray ||
And if he did, my eyes skimmed over it, somehow
OH WAIT
YES
YES I REMEMBER NOW YEAH
yeah none of that if ever mentioned in the movies || pennywises real name ||
Doesn't he do that a little after ||lighting his farts on fire O_O||
I think so because he's pissed about || that scene with Patrick || .. I think though I might be wrong
i thought that part in the movie was cool as hell, like ||with the TV nd stuff telling him to kill his dad||
did you notice all the adults in the movie are watching that show?
did you notice all
the adults in the movie
are watching that show?
Same
Yes hehehe
I loved this book so much
I can't say it enough
omg no but thats cool as hell!!!
Even though it's still not my favourite Stephen King book
That spot is held by The Dark Half and The Shining
after I have the baby for my birthday I might get Eddie's cast signing as a tattoo
yesss ive been thinking about getting that too!!
I love it lol
WHA- OOOOOO
My brother is getting the hound of hell tatooed onto his abdomen
Or, I dunno what it's called
Some wolf thing he saw on the roof of a church in England
i really want a new tattoo in general tbh, but sadly adulting calls nd i gotta save money for uni
oooo thats cool as hell!!! painful placement though hahaha
ohhhhh I just realized something from the movie!!!
spoiler for the end of the book || in the movie when they jump in/play in the quarry they find a turtle in the water !!!! ||
||YES I NOTICED THAT||
||Also, during the filming of the movie, they kept finding turtles lol||
lol what in real life during filming?
it'd almost over and I just remembered seeing that cos I was explaining to my daughter how all of that's missing from the movies
Yes hehehe
that's cute lol
They had to do de-aging on Finn Wolfhard
Or however you spell his name
Like they had to edit him to make him look younger towards the end of the movie
Same with in Chapter 2
he's forever Mike to me. not even Richie 🤣🤣 (stranger things)
The problems of filming with children going through puberty lol
yeah and the age they used too probably hard to avoid
Yeah
they were all ike 13, I think
And they had to use voice dubs in Chapter 2 lol
oh wow
yeah. . .
And the director had to tell them to act like they were 13 again
What I wish was in the movie was the weird ||Beverly/Dad chase scene||
||Like her dad chasing her through Derry||
||For some reason, I pictured him running on all fours||
that was so damn intense in the book
Yeah, I was like on my tip toes
ihonestly think it was one of the most intense scenes out of the entire novel
yeah and then || her hiding under in the club house clutching to ben out of extreme fear ||
I also noticed with Patrick || he had a cat on his shirt ||
But the most intense moment was definitely the climax
||Like I didn't think IT would end how it did too||
||Like I thought IT would just die and it would all end BUT DERRY HAD TO COLLAPSE INTO THE CANAL||
||So crazy||
that had me SO confused
yeah idk why I couldn't wrap my head around what was going on with previous scenes .. both 1st and 2nd time reading I was like wait what just happened
I was just reading it with my mouth open
I finished it at the beach
I probably looked crazy
I had to go back a few times cos I remember reading your spoiler about it and since I read it already but wasn't there this go around I was like woahhh I missed something there lol
WHA-
HOW DO YOU MISS A SCENE LIKE THAT LOL
I DONT KNOW 🤣🤣🤦🏻♀️
i think because it was just all SO much that took place beforehand? I really don't know
the second interlude, before part 3 ||is this dick hallorann from the shining?!||
I just finished part 3 and ||OMG I'm very excited to see where this is going. The fact that Henry Bowers is going back to Derry is already so... mind blowing 🤯 I can't believe he escaped with no difficulty? And that It could go as far into Juniper Hill?? I thought It could only roamed around Derry!! With Tom and Audra also coming there, I'm scared for themm
||
|| he did seem to leave with 0 difficulty lol .. and good point about It reaching Juniper Hill .. I guess it's able to travel outside of derry 🤷🏻♀️ ||

**heyyyy fellow losers club 🤡 .. in case you missed it, this has been extended until September 15th! so there's still some time to finish if you haven't already.
also wanted to check in who's still reading? if you're not going to read IT, that's totally fine! just lemme know and i can stop pinging you for updates 😃 🤘 **
for those who are still reading-any additional thoughts you'd like to add to your progress?
i know myself, @surreal acorn and @slim ivy have finished reading-anyone else finish for me to add to the completion list?
and @viscid sonnet, @drowsy cloud , & @hazy cosmos i've been seeing your progress along your way 👍 thank you for that!
v glad it got extended hahaha, im gonna jump right back in as soon as i finish the well of ascension for a br!!
no worries man! appreciate you being here when you're here! lol
Ok im going to start this today
Im going to listen to the audiobook while i reorganize my bookshelves
whenever i get the courage to do it

Send a pic of the shelves in Shelfies if you can!
Yes i will but it will take ages even though i dont feel like i have alot of books
also just figuring out how to organise them😭
I just see where my brain wants to take me
If you have too many books, I suggest stacking them
It gives more room
And sometimes it looks nice if you do it right
#book-talk now I think
Chapter 1 ||is Bill a nickname for William because I have never heard it be used before||
Yes, it’s used more commonly in North America and farther Western Europe, like the UK
Beverly core?
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QSWEFYz0ywc
HAHAHAHAHA
omfgg 🤣🤣🤣🤣
im taking advantage of being sick nd just sitting in bed listening to the audiobook
im onto the second interlude now!
not really made any significant progress so i dont have many new thoughts tbh, but ill be sure to come dump em here when i do
(hope you feel better <3) nice way to spend sick time lol
(aaa ty ty!! fingers crossed itll clear up quickly lol) oh for sure
cant think of a better way!!
I'm gonna start Part V and so far ||I can't believe we haven't got into the present time yet?? It felt slow but somehow very fast paced too, which is perfect. Like, we got this flashback of their July memories all in just one night
I wonder if they'll disclose about how Belch & Criss died, the ritual and promise, also the reason why they left. The last part's gonna be so packed
||
I took a little peek into the very last page of the book and still doesnt get it, so I'm in for a mystery ride
chap 11, bev's perspective: im a bit further in now but like ||WHAT THE FUCKKKKKKKKKKK WAS THAT WHEN THE OLD WOMAN TURNED INTO HER DAD IM??????????? genuinely was sat there listening to that while playing video games just looking like
||
i will say im enjoying the differences between the book nd the newer movies. ive not seen the miniseries or the old movie so i cant speak for them but its interesting seeing what was kept nd what was changed/interpretted differently!
usually i dont like when movies take liberties but i think stephen king movies v the books usually are p good on both sides
chapter 13, part 7: ||its very satisfying to read about henry bowers absolutely getting his shit rocked (no pun intended lmao) by them in the rock fight HAHAHAH I LOVE IT||
HA this chapter in general is great!!! seeing ||henry get absolutely fucking destroyed by all the losers is amazing HAHA||
omg that scene was sooooo damn brutal in the book compared to the movies!
it really was!!! in the movies it was way goofier I think HAHA but I think it was that way for a lot of things in comparison
ive not made insane progress since my last updates yesterday but i just wanna say im loving this so much rn, its really on the way to being 5*
do i still have like 9hrs left of the audiobook? yes. am i still gonna try to finish it today? also yes
i forgot how much i like stan as a character!! i love how ||realistic he is in a sense, because his terror nd lack of resolve that the others seem to have. its just almost refreshing because the others seem to be so solid nd determined to get rid of it but stan... he doesnt||
lol yeah || he's like the only logical one question/fearing things and everyone else is like yes lets put ourselves in scary danger 😆 before i felt the opposite as you. he annoyed me because he seemed like an 'outsider' to the losers club in the sense of like, not having everyones back in the way they had each other's-if that makes sense? but you just made good points i didn't think about before ||
omgg im on the patrick chapter
I didn’t know anyone was still reading, this is great!
Ohhh it got extended. Sorry I unfollowed to cut down on thread clutter and didn’t see that. Ignore me
aw im glad ||i was able to give you another pov!!!! I will say, in the movies nd stuff, nd at first here too, but he did get on my nerves a bit! i think now ive read the book nd got to know stan a bit more i understand his pov a lot more than i did||
i will say though, hes ||probably the most under-explored character in the book which is sad||
feel like there has to be a reason though? idk .. i might be missing more of the big picture with him .. && oh boy-brace yourself for the Patrick chapter ..
yeahhh i see what everyone means now about that chapter 😅 ||it was kinda gross with all the sexual shit nd his general just. disgustingness but his death was probably the worst so far-|| also yeah theres got to be a reason, im not entirely sure why but... idk
yeah that really all was something else ..
oooof ok im up to chapter 19 on part 5, nd christ ||the scene with bev nd her dad was so heartbreaking nd v difficult to get though... the stuff with her nd her dad before was bad enough but christ. I'm loving her a lot more than when I'd just watched the movie, since the movie leaned a lot more into her dad sexually abusing her which was an interesting interpretation of his abuse but... damn idk it's just how even as an adult she kind of justifies it nd says that he loved her nd he hit her nd abused her because he loved her... || it was really hitting close to home lol
i like that ||the book does have more of a focus on the mental nd physical abuse though as opposed to the sexual abuse route. I think it's implied that he has SAd her in the past (imo) but still. it adds a new level of depth to her character that the movie wasn't able to hit imo. I can't entirely explain it but I hope people get what I mean. the focus on the different types of abuse happening at home, also the focus of the SA in the movie nd like. everyone calling her a slut nd whatever I just thought it was way too on the nose nd focused on making her look like the "broken girl" whereas in the book she's just. a girl. yk?? I'm not sure if that makes any sense, it's like her being abused isn't her whole character like it lowkey is in the movies||
lowkey tempted to try to stay up to finish this
got about 2hrs 30 left on 2x speed so I'm really considering doing it
almost done!! im gonna finish it off at the gym
currently on chapter 22, nd like ||wtf is with the turtle??? I'm so confused I have 0 idea what's going on with that but yk
||
damn chap 22 is wild, ||first Eddie dies nd then there's bev having sex with all of them? Mr King. Sir. what the fuck is going on rn||
He needs to answer for his crimes
im all done!!! brb while i go just cry for a bit
full thoughts! idk if ill have a lot to say since ive talked a lot throughout my reading but still! ||the final boss battle (ig) was cool, but i think for me the book itself was much better than the ending... the joke in the recent "IT: Chapter 2" movie is making a lot of sense, where King says to bill that he "didnt like the ending" of his book lmao because that was lowkey anti climactic... i also didnt particularly understand the ending with bill nd Audra?? i thought that was weird as fuck nd kinda lame but yk. overall though i did love this book, nd im willing to put the shit ending aside to just say that i loved it. i thought it was fucking insane nd i just loved it. i loved the characters, they were so fleshed out and so real which the new movies just couldnt achieve (obvs because of time limits). i will say, for once im glad i watched the movies before i read the book because i think it just made the book look even better|| 5 stars easy!
I loved the ending of the book lol
||I didn’t think it was anti climactic at all||
ooo ill scroll up nd read your thoughts, tbf i might have missed something
ooo ill scroll up nd
read your thoughts, tbf i
might have missed something
thanks haikubot lmao
||Like when all of Derry collapsed into the canal system? Phew||
||Definitely not anti climactic there lol||
FINSIHED!! I just--
mixed feelings
yess tbh i thought that was really interesting!! ||i think the main thing i wasnt a fan of was the thing with bill nd audra on silver at the end, that was weird af nd i didnt understand. maybe anti climactic wasnt the right word HAHA in retrospect it wasnt, i think it was just. weird? i cant explain it-||
ahhh i gotta catch up on the posts!! thank you for those who stuck around and braved through this chonkkk of a book with me!
@muted dust @tired linden @wraith tundra @viscid sonnet @halcyon estuary @empty trench @edgy talon @rigid jasper @empty pumice @frosty zealot @river zenith @rigid jasper
today's also the last day-is anyone still reading && needs more time? lemme know! 🤘
i have the following who have finished-anyone else i missed?
@drowsy cloud @slim ivy @hazy cosmos @surreal acorn
**IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY-please remember to post ending thoughts so you can get the points for reading with us! 🤡
thank you so so soooo much to the crew who read & stuck through this lengthy book. for first time readers, i really hope you enjoyed the story and you're happy to have checked if off of your list. this is my top #1 favorite book and i am so happy to have shared the experience with you guys ♥️
tysm for hosting nyxx!!! its been super fun reading along with everyone nd i absolutely loved this, more than i enjoyed the movies (nd i loved the new movies lol)
