omg where is this lmao

They're in the archives
Ohhh ok
We're moving that channel to be forum based!
I love that! But someone was going to add more to their autumn card

#1055165735384653885 will be temporarily open (to send messages) to the Archive Viewer role for one more week

I just found out that message links still work after the thread is archived, so that’s groovy!
Sorry if I'm being rude I'm just very excited. When will the bingo card be coming
I think this night probably, when Maca has enough time! Just a guess though
Yeah, it's almost done!! Maca will post it as soon as possible
My question exactly!
I‘m so excited to track a new bingo om SG
i should try that too this time around!
Might make it a reading challenge on there if that‘s okay for everyone!
Please do!
Or if nobody else wants to do it because I know some other people have done it before and I don‘t mean no disrespect to their work
Did someone make one for Autumn
Yes!
Who
Ooo, what does that entail?
Oh on SG gotcha
Yess
I loved it, it’s fun to use. Do y’all only add books after you’ve finished them, or before?
Mostly when I start reading or am currently reading them!
Ok gotcha. I’ve seen other challenges where people seem to use it to plan, and that could be cool too
Yes!! I‘m too much of a mood reader for that unfortunately LOL
Yeah, my plans never pan out exactly as I made them, usually cause a good buddy read will crop up and then I bump something
i try to plan because i actually like planning things and having a plan but then i don’t stick to it
mood
i started making monthly tbrs for myself again a few months ago but i always end up reading everything else instead :D
Fancy forums
Hello everyone 😊 sorry for the delay, I was waiting for the forum to be created and finish my shift.
Won't be taking more time, here is the newest bingo card as we officially start the season of ❄️WINTER ❄️
for any questions please ping me, and I'll have another post tomorrow morning (for me) with just general explanation as I'm sure some of the prompts will need clarifications.
I'm so excited to hear more!
Is there a reason for the different colors or just trying something new?
honestly I just liked the look of it and couldn't settle on all in one colour or a second matching shade so I went with the background 😊
reminds me a bit of monopoly
Ooo yeah. I was curious if the outer and inner squares were like new bingos you could get
Uuuu 🤔🤔 for now not, but maybe something we can add in the future
Could be fun
Does it have to be exactly 300 pages? Also, feel free to tell me to wait until tomorrow
Okay so I have some questions you can just answer them Tomorrow I just want to write them down before I forget them
1.what does "set in a country on your list" mean
2.what does "left over" mean
3. The same with "brings out a grinch"
4. Can a sad ending be a bitter sweat ending
And Kit already asked my last question so I won't ask again
Happy holidays ❄️ And thanks for the seasonal bingo:ghostClap:
Not to speak on Maca's behalf but I helped with some of the prompts!
- A country that you'd like to travel to! So in my case I'd like to go to Germany so I'd look for a book set in Germany.
- Books that you couldn't get around to finishing in 2022 or a book that you planned to read but didn't get around to.
- A book you ended up disliking after reading it.
- And I can't answer this one perfectly but I'd say that it can be the case for sure; I'll of course let Maca weigh in more with that.

here the SG version
https://app.thestorygraph.com/reading_challenges/002cc99e-fd04-4949-ae70-be7eaec4fee8?redirect=true
nice, i’m very excited!
could you maybe edit this message and add the bingo?
like the picture, it would be nice to see it in the forum
even with copy paste?
WAIT I TOTALLY DIDNT SEE THIS OMG
yep
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
for the 300 pages prompt, does it hv to be exact 300 pages, or is there a range?
Maca is quite busy at the moment, I‘m sure she will answer the question as soon as she can!
If I had to guess it‘s probably as close to 300 as possible but idk for sure
oh ok thx
oh well, thanks for trying anyway
Around 300 pages, give or take
Heyoo, so
- Set in a country on your list can be taken as a list of countries from which you want to read a book from, a list of countries you've visited or want to visit. Figure out what kind of list you may have regarding countries and then pick one.
- Left over is for books you were supposed to read last year, aka this year still and didn't get to so you move it over for 2023
- Brings out a Grinch is for books you will dislike or have issues with, a book that will bring out many feelings out of you, or the author
- Yes it can
Around 300 pages more or less.
Oh ok cool. I was able to find a few 301s so that will have to do. Oddly enough I have several books in my tbr at exactly 400 lol
309 is the closest i can do lol
and funnily enough i also have like 3 books with exactly 400 pages on my tbr xD
hahahahaha whoops
I wanted to download the bingo but it’s really low quality for some reason?
Galatea for less than 100 pages
Would you recommend it? I'm surprisingly a big fan of Madeline Miller and I've not picked it up yet.
the actual story is only 25 pages long but yes, I liked it.
read in december- It starts with us
the gentleman's guide to vice and virtue for focus on growth
and puss in boots for a cat
Red Queen for book read in December
I've decided I'll be joining this one!!!!
Im getting books for Christmas so it should be fun
where can you read it?
The invisible life of Addie LaRue-New beginings
bought the book at the book store
for a 25 page long book?
i mean the book itself is about 80 pages because there is a foreword, an afterword and illustrations inside
ohhh I see! that makes a lot more sense
sorry, but why would buying a book with 25 pages from the bookstore not make sense?
for me buying a book under 50 pages or like a short story from a book store is kinda unreasonable. so with galatea having illistrations and other extras included in the book, it makes it more reasonable to buy. I hoped that made sense
Wolfsong-Small town setting
ahhh yes!! sorry i only saw this now
yeah it feels weird to spend money on such a small book but they do publish a lot of books like that, the short story used to be available on madeline miller's website to read for free before
tbh I understand why anyone wouldn’t buy Galatea, because from the four books I’ve bought that day it was the most expensive at 21€
noooo
i got this gifted and now i'm just hoping it didn't cost that much
but mine doesn't have illustrations afaik
it was also the German Edition so it’s more expensive to begin with
yes! I agree, if I do want to buy a physical copy of a small book I would try to find it in collection of other small stories, but its not always like that sadly
really?! let me go check if its still there
I checked and its not there, you have to buy it to read it
will probably just borrow it from the library
ALSO The Graveyard Book by
Neil Gaiman for Read in December
as good as dead for book that stole my sleep
The book that stole my sleep
A winter read
mystery - one of us is lying
Can I add multiple books at a time? Fir different prompts?
OH
Read in December
Preferably one book at a time like it says in the info on the bingo but nobody can really stop you from adding more of course
Oh okay thanks 😊 ☺
FIRST STAMP
My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She's Sorry - Fredrik Backman
Could have easily been a sobby read or a tale about loss but I went with a tale about loss
Genuinely loved it and I'm planning on reading the pseduosequel about one of the characters soon - I'm just in love with his characters and writing style. His dialogue is genuinely very funny, certain parts made me ugly cry at work and overall it's so heartwarming.
I'm hyping this up for fans of Bridge to Terabithia too; very reminiscent of it.
Damn alright I was wondering where the winter bingo was, just found this 🤣🤣
@inner bolt , so whenever you get the chance I'm wondering what does new beginnings mean exactly?
Ok so I finished The Great Gatsby recently for read in December, and I just read the Beauty and the Beast short story for less than 100 pages
i‘ve been wondering the same
I just realized i forgot to update the bingo before 😔 but here's my progress so far:
- "Funny You Should Ask" for read in december
- "We have always lived in the Castle" for a cat
- "Frankenstein in Baghdad" for a translation

midnight's children for read in december
The Lord of the Flies by William Golding for Debut Novel
A Million to One for Read in December
song of achilles for sad ending
this bingo is going to kill me with all the sad book prompts
hahahahaha a little bit of seasonal sadness never hurt
The book eaters for 300 pages
What did you think of it? I've been meaning to get to it for ages.
legends and lattes for new beginnings
You guys are really going, so many books in just a week!
Everyone is eager to finish 2023 on a roll apparently!
I liked it. It was a very weird book and the characters had some very Grey morals which I find quite interesting
Tallstar‘s Revenge for A Cat
i hv holidays rn so i can finish a book a day
Oh that makes sense!
Spy x Family Vol. 8 for !
The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas by Machado de Assis for *a translation *
Dézafi by Frankétienne for read in December
First Love by Ivan Turgenev for small town setting
Lae on fire
just one more book this year and then i'm done
finishing books i mean, not starting them lol
hmm, would Cat's Cradle work for the cat spot, or does it have to be a book with a cat? 🤔
That's a good question I'm not sure
I'm happy to see you're going the bingo 😁
I'm excited to play!
I think it works. There’s more than one way to get the cat spot on the bingo
All the Things I Wish You Knew- a sprinkle of romance
a thousand boy kisses for a sobby read
Cat's Cradle for a cat
It can work. You can have a cat in the name, on the cover, as a character in the book. Different ways to fit a book 🤗
Even as a characters name lol
awesome, thank you!
@inner bolt I was also wondering what new beginnings would pertain to?
It can be a book about a big change, a move, a growing up story , something along the lines of that
Oh ok thankies!
The duchess deal-a cat
The flat share/lejlighed til deling-Read in december
We have always lived in a castle - Mental health
moved midnight's children to brings out a grinch and it ends with us for read in december
it starts with us for a sprinkle of romance
always, in december by emily stone for sobby read
! - Talking as fast as I can
Winter read - All the Lovers in the Night
The mysterious affair at styles-debut novel
The Ocean at the end of the Lane Neil Gaiman for focus on growth
Im finding it difficult to find a book for sobby read. Does it have to be a book where i cried while reading it or could it just be a sad book?
could it be a book so bad it makes you cry? /hj
It can be both.. or a book where some character cries too
The perks of being a wallflower-sobby read
landline for 300 pages
Two in one day! Fellowship of the Ring for winter read, and The Graveyard Book for leftovers. All done reading, I'm taking the rest of the year off!
tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow for 1st read of 2023
what do i do if my 1st read of 2023 is gonna be a book i planned for a different square, because i didn't finish it fast enough?
Winter Bing lol
I don’t get it, you had planned a different read for first read but you’ve already finished another book? Can you delay finishing, like just leave the last chapter? Idk
Okay so I planned to finish Legends & Lattes in 2022 and put it on the New Beginnings square. But I didn't manage to do that and now it will probably be my first read of 2023, which means I have to put it on that square instead on the one I planned
Ohhh. Maybe you can find another book that works for new beginnings
The Miracles of the Namiya General Store - Keigo Higashino for a book that stole my sleep
(the last book i've read in 2022
)
Since I was sick for over a week, I wasn't able to read, but now I finished finally my first book on the Bingo card

its the holidays thats why. once school starts, i'll slow down considerably
read in december - as long as the lemon trees grow
understandable!
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab for Read In December
I'm genuinely quite sorry that I dismissed this book as easily as I did - I intended to read it for a long time because an old friend on here was obsessed with it and being the contrarian that I am I of course ignored his urging on how much he loved it. While it's not my favourite book ever; it is a special read - I enjoyed it a lot and think that the story itself is pretty timeless; very Greek tragedy.
Hats off Mykle
love on the brain for bestseller. my second bingo!
First read of 2023 - The Haunting of Hill House
A sprinkle of romance - Restore me
First read of 2023

the son of neptune by rick riordan for sprinkle of romance loved this read
frayed for small town setting and gone girl for left over
Legends & Lattes for New Beginnings!
what counts for the mental health prompt? will a book with a character suffering from mental health issues ||(a character who committed suicide)|| be enough?
I think so, gotta ask @inner bolt
Suree, it can count
thx
Brings out the Grinch -The night circus
Oh why did it bring out the grinch?
It had so much potential with its fantasy but the romance really bugged me sometimes
Mind if I ask: you don’t like romance or you didn’t like that romance?
i dont like that romance
What does 'a sprinkle of romance' really mean ?
A littleeee romance or a proper romance.
A sprinkle is usually just a little of something
I thought of it like a romance side story in a book. it wasn't the entire book, just parts of it had romance
What does the "!" mean?
It's a free space! Like in traditional bingo cards. You can put any book you want on it, it's basically a spot with no prompt
Thank you
looking for alaska for debut novel
hiii, i've decided to try my hand at this challenge, but i'm mostly going with the flow haha. so far i'm only one book in but i'm hoping to get at least one row done by the end of it 😄

The Girl with all the Gifts - 1st read of 2023
first read of the year! Acts of Service
Free space! Any book can go here
Ten O'Clock People by Stephen King for** First Read of 2023** - Neat short story that I found after reading it when I was younger. Cool concept kinda like They Live for ||Smokers||.
||Also surreal to see how common place it was to smoke basically anywhere and everywhere in the late 90s - even in how it's written in the story it's becoming stigmatized||.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman for Sobby Read

One of my favourite reads in a long while - now in my Top 5 favourite books tbh. I don't cry very easily when it comes to reading (I can definitely be touched and emotional) but yeah, had to put this on sobby because it got me to cry.

I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream for the free space
Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree for Read With Hot Drink - My spoilery feelings are in the BR channel but yeah, ideal to read with a hot drink on a wintery day.
Oh sorry to ping you Nyx, would you recommend this one?
@dusk badge no worries! yes I would. quick disturbing read 🤘🏼
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow for a bestseller
Britt-Marie Was Here By Fredrik Backman for New Beginnings - At this point I might as well try to read all of his work in January because it's so hard for me to stop at this point. His books make my heart feel so full.
While Ove is probably my favourite so far, I loved this and My Grandmother Wanted To Say She's Sorry - plus Britt-Marie is a character in that too!
Very unconventional story with an unconventional ending that was imo perfect.
A sprinkle of romance - Legends & Lattes
My Neighbor Totoro by Hiyao Miyazaki & Tsugiko Kubo for a translation
I read A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers for read with a hot drink
The perfect book to read with a cup of tea whilst listening to the rain 🌧️🍵

“Ghost Boys” for Left Over
I wanted to start doing this yesterday but I thought that it was too late and it'd be weird to ask questions now, but I guess I'll just ask. apologies in advance if the answers to some of these questions are supposed to to be very obvious, I'm dumb.
- what does "winder read" mean? (just a book that I read in winter?)
- does "focus on growth" mean that I should read something more diverse what what I read normally?
- what's "new beginnings"?
My Heart is a Chainsaw- a bestseller
generally, the rules aren't that strict, so it's open to your own interpretation as well
- could be - but some people associate winter with certain themes, topics, and vibes but if you don't really have such associations, it's fine to just do your thing
- again, open to interpretation, either that or the book focuses on growth
- I'm not sure to answer this because the book should be about new beginnings - starting a new life, new mindset etc
I say go with your flow and own interpretation of the prompts because at the end of the day, it's supposed to be a fun challenge and not a homework assignment
But I'm not the host of this challenge but I think Maca might agree with me in spirit
oh sorry I forgot to reply, Maca has answered these questions before
I personally also like to go with my own interpretation
- answers the left over question
Heyoo, so
- Set in a country on your list can be taken as a list of countries from which you want to read a book from, a list of countries you've visited or want to visit.
- Yes it can
[Go to message!](#1055166418238324786 message)
this is about new beginnings
It can be a book about a big change, a move, a growing up story , something along the lines of that
[Go to message!](#1055166418238324786 message)
Idk if there are other answers but I agree with what rin said
100% agreement
Honestly the only real rule is to choose books from your tbr, and since everyones tbr is different the promps are flexible to make it work so you don't add new books to the tbr
Got it, thanks for all the help

I would do them all at once if you’re just joining
And then you can update book by book as you go
Ok thank you!!
The Three-Body Problem- set in a country on your list
A court of Thorns and roses for a sprinkle of romance
Quick question- am I supposed to put ONLY books I read after dec 21 (when the bingo started) or can I put I book that I finished before the 21 in the “finished in dec” spot?
I think it could be any book in December
Thanks 😊

Husband Material for focus on growth
Cemetery Boys for debut novel
forgot to add a December read- The Troop && The Two Towers for sad ending
A Monster Calls- sobby read .. finished this last night 😥😭
The Graveyard Book for new beginnings
Ghoster- for mystery. 2nd bingo!
Everyones doing so amazing, I love seeing all the cards slowly filling up
Focus on Growth - The Harp in the South
yes i took a photo of the book to use in the bingo because the only picture of the cover i could find online was so blurry, and i didn‘t want to use another one, but also i was lazy and didn‘t edit the photo or anything so now it looks like this
also i took the photo with my ipad which made me feel like a grandma and a little child at once, but i didn‘t want to get up to get my phone
enjoying this so much! 1st time participating and loving it
hey, you put in effort! 🤣🤣
barely
no you did more than barely! that was smart thinking
you could have just gone with the blurry download 🤷🏻♀️ gold star for you! lol🌟
I finished The Kiss Curse yesterday for small town book, and then White Nights under 100 pages. And my first bingo, after half of yall have already finished your bingo cards
Eclipse (Warriors) for read with a hot drink
The Last of Us: American Dreams for Left Over
Lost in the Moment and Found for story of loss
anne of green gables for small town setting
was in the mood for some poetry before bed so My Life Had Stood a Loaded Gun by Emily Dickinson for less than 100 pages
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath for Mental Health. Although I had been put off reading it for a large portion of my life, I'm glad to finally have read it. It's a raw, detailed look into mental health and tragically semi-autobiographical.
Haven't been active on here in a bit, reading a lot and being busy with life. Here's some updates!
The Stolen Heir- new beginnings
The Trees- sobby read
Age of Vice- the book that stole my sleep
BI: The hidden culture etc. for Read With a Hot Drink (two excellent coffees
)
Long Shadows (Warriors) for the book that stole my sleep
I just wanted to finish the series as soon as possible, to read some sad books, so my sleep suffered a little bit
I have a question to "library vibes", should the book contain a library or does it only have to give the vibes of being in a library (if that makes sense 😅)?
whatever interpretation you want to go for works, both would work imo
Leave The World Behind by Rumaan Alam for Mystery. What a bizarre read- that being said it's very visceral and stomach-wrenching. I've had it on my TBR for a long time and I'm glad I finally got around to it.
ghost town for sad ending
A Scatter of Light for a sprinkle of romance
my first bingo

how did you like the book?
i really liked it!! the story and the characters were great even though the ending was a bit too sudden for me. i love Malinda Lo's writing a lot lol even though I don't really enjoy YA that much anymore, but there's just something about her writing and the characters she creates
Wind of Change for focus on growth
Guess who's addiction to Warrior Cats-Books is taking over
No Longer Human By Osamu Dazai for Set In A Country On Your List. I read this years ago and this is actually my fiancé's favourite book. It's a sobering and very well-written. A lot of the story I could remember well but it doesn't hold a candle to what it's like to actually reread it.
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry for Less Than 100 Pages. I actually got to read this with my next door neighbour's little girl! It took a few sessions but it was great
Ninth House for mystery!
“If Beale Street Could Talk” for Sad Ending
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern for Library Vibes. Took me forever but finally done - actual thoughts are in #1057461710249791540 but overall ||mid af||. I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT I GOT MY FIRST BINGO YESTERDAY.
Arsenic and Adobo for Small Town Setting
got my second and third bingo :D
The Bell Jar for debut novel .. bingo #3 🤘
a little princess by frances hodgson burnett for !
Booth- leftover
Eleanor & Park for a sprinkle of romance
The Maze Runner by James Dashner for ‘leftover’
HoO The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan for ‘set in country on your list’ - can’t wait to go to Italy some day
The Two Towers for mental health, cause it is good for my mental health
“White Nights” for A Translation
The Sunbearer Trials for Read with a hot drink
After Sappho- debut novel
If I Never Met You - A Cat
the cat was the smallest cameo ever but I don‘t have any cat-related books on my tbr, sooo if the shoe fits…
Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado for Debut Novel. Picked this up on a whim, it's very...mixed.
Small rant about modern horror with general TW for sexuality/feminism/biology: I suppose ||I'm just generally quite burnt out with 'women/feminist horror'. It's a bit more palatable when it's put forward subtextually or that it's trying to convey something new that hasn't been said a hundred times before but most of these stories are like "MEN AMIRIGHT BODY IMAGE ISSUES AMIRIGHT". I'm weary of feminist tales that hold such a grim definition of womanhood and femininity. We are painted as humans owned in parts by various men and corporations, where sex is cold and transactional, where we are seen to be masturbating furiously whenever we're able unless it's stemmed with all the hymens, birthing and, of course, menstruation. Sometimes it reminds me a bit about the critiques/stereotypes of feminine comics only having a set repertoire of subjects in their act but just occasionally throw in a bit of body horror. Make no mistake - I am a woman, I am not disparaging exploring the issues we're faced with or anything of that nature but hearing the same tired 'we're sexually assaulted y'know, we're looked down on by society y'know, we're often not taken seriously y'know' can get very old, very quickly.||
||This was a collection of horror shorts - some of them were very good (albeit sometimes pit against unconventional writing style) but towards the final two I was generally quite burnt out and bored of how sexual these stories were (not that sex is so much an issue in general terms) but literally every story has explicit sex even if there's far more pressing things going on and it's...
I think a part of that problem is that it's very disingenuous. I guess the vibe is very tryhard. The things I did like is that it did have some very weird story concepts that when not weighed down with the above problems that were mostly enjoyable; the author is without a doubt very talented though self-indulgent in some of her concepts. I'd love to get into the meat and potatoes about each of the stories but that'd be self-indulgent in my own right lmao but yeah I had to get this off my chest a bit. ||
The Switch- small town setting
Unwell Women for Library Vibes because it reminds me of researching similar topics for my high school thesis
“Sense and Sensibility” for Library Vibes
Beautiful World Where Are You by Sally Rooney for Focus on Growth. After reading this and Normal People last year I genuinely enjoyed this one much more. Sally Rooney I feel is a bit overhyped but I enjoyed how grounded it was but not foregoing the need to make likeable characters which was a problem for me with her other book. Plus maybe because my best friend and I have a very similar relationship to Eileen and Alice that this hit me a little bit...
does anyone know when this bingo ends?
Yeah mar20
Nightcrawling- !
oh whoops did not see that thanks kit
Hell Bent for a book that stole my sleep. I literally stayed up late to finish it last night
I've got 4 categories left to do
will post my graphic soon
Mob Psycho 100 Volume 1- focus on growth
White Nights for A Translation (I kinda wanted to put it in for 'Sad Ending' but this is an amazing translation so I gotta go with this. I still hate chapter 2 tho)
Thinking of Anxious People for bestseller but not too sure about sobby read, sad ending or library vibes yet
I'm Glad My Mom Died for 300 pages
A Clockwork Orange for story of loss
The Iliac Crest for library vibes
The book is full of literary references so i feel like it fits quite well
Girl, interrupted for best seller .. double bingo/ 5th bingo
"A little life" for sobby read
What's The Use? for 300 pages
The Last House on Needless Street for 300 pages
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner for free space
Sisters by Raina Telgemeier for Focus on growth
"Warrior Cats - Sunrise" for Winter read
"Midwinterblood" for mystery
Needed to read some weird YA books to mentally recover from "A little life"
The Hunger Games- sad ending
Lae! What did you think of it?
It was really good!! The content is of course quite horrifying but the way she wrote it a bit more easily to read and process
"The Anxiety Cure" for mental health
The Thursday Murder Club for bestseller
The Moon, The Stars And Madame Burova by Ruth Hogan for 300 Pages. It's so cute I wanna die; I'm going to post a BR for this one to reread. I've read a lot of more reflective, sad or in some cases just not that interesting reads this month but this one stood out as a pleasant diamond in the rough for something that I picked up on a whim.
Garth Marenghi's TerrorTome by Garth Marenghi for a sprinkle of romance. I loved this book omfg
Did I read a lot of books that have also counted for a sprinkle of romance? Sure. Were any of them as wild as the one in TerrorTome? Not even close.
Probably one of the funniest books I've ever read - I doubled down and bought the Audiobook to go along with it, a fantastic treat
I don't know if this is something I can recommend to every one because sense of humours etc, but I'm genuinely 5 star-ing it.
“I know writers who use subtext, and they're all cowards.”
“The shriek sounded again. No way was it a human cry. No human vocal cord could produce such a bowel-shatteringly terrifying cacophony as that. An explosion of cracking, snapping, and clacking, like some sinister breakfast cereal.”
These Violent Delights for a story of loss
Me googling: Does X Book have
Google suggesting searches: A romance? A kiss? Spice? A death?
Finishing typing: A cat?
Just realized I never added Sense and Sensibility for Focus on Growth
Is there going to be a spring bingo this year?
I believe so!
"A shadow in RiverClan" for library vibes
"The rider on the white horse" for set in a country on your list
The Midnight Library- 300 pages
⚪ 🖌️ 🚫 🫴 🖕
I think you wrote in the wrong channel
But im gonna guess the subtle art of not giving a fuck
OJ SHIT

yes you're right
The Final Strife for book that stole my sleep because I just couldn’t put it down
Omg thank you for the explanation, I thought ayesha just decided to go off
The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu for Translation. I didn't think that I would enjoy this as much as I did- A lot of was difficult to parse but it was overall pretty fascinating and surreal.
"Woodwalker and Friends" for 300 pages
Why am I enjoying children's books so much
Dark Archives for library vibes
The Plot by Jean Hanff Korelitz for A Cat. I'm so glad I got around to reading this; this wasn't centred necessarily on a cat for a large swathe of the book and I had this in mind for A Best Seller but there's a particular scene in the end that I don't think I'm going to forget any time soon with a cat as the focal point that makes this kinda ideal...
About The Plot (spoiler free and mostly just opinion but still spoilered): ||So it's weird; I don't know if anyone else has guessed what a major plot development to a book is going to be, carried on reading it and still thoroughly enjoyed it? I can see it being a turn off for some people for sure but I genuinely really liked it! The writing is really solid and the main character has a very defined and at times difficult to sympathize with personality. For those of you who figure themselves as aspiring authors there's a lot to enjoy here too.
says lame aspiring author||
Nyx I'm really sorry to ping you but I'm desperate to know what you thought of this one
I finished it today (have no squares left that it'd fit on tho lmao) and I feel many things
The Travelling Cat Chronicles for Sad Ending
this was such a sweet book, so glad i finally read it :(
no worries about the pings! only way i'll ever see anything lol .. but um yeah there were a lot of feelings as well for me lol .. the ending specifically ..
The Keeper of Night for a country on my list
I feel like conceptually it was pretty sound and the imagery/format was cool but at the same time ||felt weirdly rushed and a little underbaked||... I'm intrigued enough to get a few more of his short stories to try though
Whereabouts by Jhumpa Lahiri for Brings Out the Grinch
While I enjoyed the writing from time to time, the very short chapters were bothering me to no end
A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K. Le Guin for Bestseller. So... I had this planned for March, picked it up and then did not put it down until I was finished.
The lore and worldbuilding were unreal, the plot was genuinely quite severe and meaningful too - especially when all I knew on paper was that it was about a Wizard coming of age. I'm sad I missed out on the BOTM reading of this a few months ago, it was such a fun read with some really memorable characters.
Also Taoism!
The Bell Jar for Brings Out a Grinch
The World of Yesterday - Stefan Zweig for left over
man should have started a podcast fr
Finally read a book with a cat! The Merciful Crow (which was amazing, 4.5 stars, highly recommend) and had a very cute, very determined cat
before we were strangers by renee carlino for book read with a hot drink
don't remember if i've updated this yet, but i've got 3 left, if anyone has recs for sad ending or sobby reads, i'd love to get some
i haven't really found any on my tbr i'm in the mood for so maybe something i haven't heard of before would be nice
For sad ending, you could read Inseperable by Simone de Beauvoir, i read that yesterday and i loved it, and i think it's a book you'd probably like too!
১৩ নম্বর ঘর (Room Number 13 in English) for Less Than 100 Pages. I could easily put this as Brings out a grinch cuz this book was so freaking boring. This why I don't read books from my own country. I can't read it properly and have to read it slowly; plus I find 3 or 4 words on every page that I don't know the meaning of (yes, I'm not very good at my mother language, might sound like a lie, but it's true). On top of all that the mystery and horror is so bad. A 5 year old could've written this bro. ||Everything that happened was so obvious from the start that I was wondering why they were even having to try to solve the mystery||
"Red Queen" for debut novel
Phantom of the Opera sprinkle of romance
The Hunger Games small town setting
Added The Three-Body Problem for the read with a hot drink spot cause.... I didn't know where else to put it
I guess I could do ! instead
11/22/63 by Stephen King for **Small Town Setting. ** I read this when it was first released years ago, loved it and decided to reread it only to settle on that this is one of the best novels I've ever read.
Would anyone be okay with me posting their bingo cards on our twitter? (I know I ask this every few months LOL) Feel free to ping me or react to this message if it's ok!
i don't mind
tag me /j
Same

i'm just kidding though lol i don't have twitter for this persona lol
Oh yeah Twitter my bad. I thought it was the gram
@ebon pelican you have also been given permission for another post
"Looking for Alaska" for story of loss
Finally finished!
Good job Everyone!! 👏
Stone Blind for brings out a grinch
I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be pinned but I finished a while ago
Ooh Katto can you explain what you didn't like about this one? I'm a sucker for myth-related historical fiction.
hmm i can try xD
i guess my expectations were just different from what the book delivered. i was expecting Medusa’s story from her perspective but we get many different POVs in this book and Medusa herself has less chapters that other characters do.
also i know the author writes a lot of greek mythology based things but this book made it seem like she doesn’t actually like it?? she definitely hates Perseus and it shows.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/4963074611
this review resonated with me
Tysm! Sorry to bug you about it but I've been considering picking it up for a while! The review you linked put it perfectly in a way for me to get
you weren't bugging me , no worries!
The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah for Winter Read. So uh it's good, it's ridiculously good. The setting, the characters, the plot- I really can't recommend this enough. Another place to plug the BR for it lmao
Join it to prove me wrong and that it's really garbage and Vaude is soft-hearted or join it and have a fantastic time, I'm really game for either.
Book Title: The Great Alone
Author: Kristin Hannah
Duration: 15.03.2023 - 15.04.2023
Request Reason: I started reading this and it's so good that I want other people to pick it up and join me. Fans of Educated or Beartown will be all over this. Same goes for fans of historical fiction. :YA_FingerGuns:

Sorry! We're just busy and sometimes we don't see it, or we forget to pin. I'll pin it now!
Cultish for book that stole my sleep, because i decided to binge this book instead of taking a much-needed nap
aaaand i‘m done!!
Children of Blood and Bone for sad ending. Idk I thought it was sad
Echo by Thomas Olde Heuvelt for Left Over. And boy what a left over
A case where I enjoyed the book, liked reading the book but I still took over 5 Months to finish this, simply because I got caught up reading other things. It's not even that long???? I read both The Green Mile AND 11.22.63 this month before a 400 page book??? What is even wrong with me
But nonetheless I still had a blast with Echo, I had a bit of a reading slump mid-way through but once you get over that hump it's a really interesting concept and Thomas Olde Heuvelt is genuinely really talented.
ALSO FINISHED
I hope theres another bingo coming up
this time i have time so i can def finish it
hahaha a few more days
Omg yayy
PJO The lightning Thief: The graphic novel by Rick Riordan for “library vibes” because I borrowed it 😆
Honestly, I wasnt a fan of it. And the fact it didn’t have page numbers absolutely enraged me
Guts by Raina Telgemeier for mental health
I’m not reading all the kids graphic novel stuff for pleasure, I just want to read them once more before I donate them.

When is the new reading bingo?
Sooooon
I would think it’s starting shortly after Monday. I believe that’s the first day of spring
And unfortunately when I have to go back to school :/
You’ve got some great books on there!! I see Narnia 👀 I’ve been meaning to start the series. I have all the books in a box set, just need to finish a couple other series first
thanks! i completely forgot about that series and you just reminded me i managed to snag book #2 for free which i might be able to finish to complete my card!
For free?! Oh my goodness. Who doesnt love a free book
right?! they have a whole section of free books. my daughter and i managed to snag the entire Series of Unfortunate Events series .. it felt wrong taking them all, almost like stealing because they were free! no one checked them out for years so they pulled them off the shelves
Ahhhh!! What a lucky find! I’ve never read the books, but I’ve seen the series and part of the movie. Are they good?
in my opinion - DONT watch the movies or show. stay far far away from them and indulge yourself in the books only
they came out when i was a kid and loved them.now rereading them as an adult to my 7 year old daughter, the love is still there for the series.
I’ll have to add them to my ever-growing TBR! Thanks!
I have sad ending and then I’m done too!
we got this!!!
of course!!<3
hot damn i did it .. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for library vibes .. completed my card! 🤘
