So, I was wondering if you could have a short essay reading event inspired by the short stories event from the server but the event frequency will be adjusted as the staffs see fit.
I was thinking about reading

1. Individual essays on each event from one essay collection or completing a whole essay collection systematically while reading one of the pieces on each event
2. popular essays/articles from magazines and newspapers

I have an idea to do a Secret Santa style book “swap”, not physical books but book recommendations. So we do a random swap, there’s websites where interested parties can enter their emails, some pre-determined questions on book preferences and what they’re looking for. The bot site will randomly assign and email each person the name and details of the person they’re assigned to recommend a book for, and then at some point (coordinated of course) everyone reveals their giftee and their recommendation. And then we could do group reads maybe a few weeks later to give people time to find their book, Each person will probably end up reading a different book, but just generally sharing if we like it, progress, general non-spoiler plot updates, etc.

oh K, I want to also ask that some essays especially the ones in the essay collections aren't available online for free, should I include them or not?

Thank you for your suggestion, it sounds great but we are not too keen on hosting an event like this for the entire server as we are all rather busy ourselves and organising this would require a lot of time. We'll keep this in mind though and maybe we can do a secret santa like this one day!!
