It takes some time. Over all if you only want the ship, you can get yours in the starting city for some bucks and be set for just sailing, but it's only good for fishing in the beginning.

As mentioned some time before my most enjoying experience in BDO was producing stuff and gather things. then use my noble wagon or ship to haul them around and do some trading.
Also farming was nice during work from home.

Only 1.4k out of 80k were chosen for the pre-alpha so most people haven't got to see the game. Alpha will have more but we don't know how much more .. but we also have more people interested ( currently 118k ) . So many people will probably not get into the alpha either.

So I'm working on two kinda simultaniously because I'm sorta stuck with both for various reasons.
The first is a Heroes Unlimited Game (Superheroes) that is a world of my own design.
The setting is mostly free form right now. The group is part of a 'superhero group' who go out and do superhero things alongside normal things for the time being. Right now it's more or less a "getting to know the world and how it works" since the world is predominantly Magi-tech so like cellphones have energy crystals they power off of and charge and your car doesn't quite run on gasoline.
They've run into a few main villains so far:
-A demon lord who is trying to break through a magic barrier and take over the world (basic demon lord stuff)
- A punisher like teen girl who was the daughter of the serial killer they apprehended in the first campaign and who they found "frozen solid, as if the ice age happened instantly where he stood" in the third after said serial killer escaped. Her becoming a hero or major villain will likely be described by the players actions
and finally - An alien from another planet who has decided he wanted to be Superman: Red Son... It's... been interesting for him.
I'm more at the debate where how much longer should I pull out the main campaign story right now. Like next session will be finishing up stuff but at the same time should I give them more time to feel things or initiate "Operation: Explosions start the real game"

To be honest, my history and geography skills are really bad so I don't know where most countries are, or what their history is...

Kinda yea on the slice of life thing because some of them actually have characters that are involved in "normal life' like police officering and magic-astrophysics stuff.
It's actually really good because some of them will be able to get information gathering based on the skills they chose for their characters to use and gain.
The teen villain, known as "Harbinger" is basically an anti-hero on the level of Punisher. She was left half dead by her father when he escaped considering her 'weakness' (complete BS that he came up with because sociopath) was why he was captured and he will only accept strength. She ended up somehow fusing with a strange ice spirit who healed her and basically they're working in symbiosis. They keep each other alive.
So after that she froze her father and is going after all villans who escape the law... And she's good at what she does, when you find the body you also find a LOT of evidence saying it was them.
She's also become the pet project of one of the characters who "believes that because she doesn't kill the innocent and that means she's still good and she can be saved!" I'm honestly thinking that his interactions with her will shape how she ends up. Like I don't see her as being a new awesome hero but more along the lines of Vegeta. She's not a good guy but she's on the same side as the good guys.

Just a little heads up, am going to have my first laser treatment/surgery soon and will be in a truckload of pain for atleast 1-2 weeks - so I will try to spend most of the time bedridden because I won't be able to move much. (Suffer from an autoimmune skin condition, Hidradenitis Suppurativa, stage II.)

So this is a little bit more fleshed out DnD idea I had.
A quality of life update to a popular mmorpg accidentally created a bug, which led to various npcs, mobs and bosses gaining some kind of sentience. Unfortunately, an end game boss that was released along with the update also got corrupted by this bug the most, and became a completely evil being, The BBEG
Due to the setting in the world that all video games connect to one another now, this presents a problem as with this new bugged version of the BBEG can find a portal and travel to other games, spreading the bug and also his own power due to collecting insanely OP items for himself from the various games.
The story starts with x amount of heroes, ordinary video game players in different games that all are infected by the bug at around the same time, affecting their starting zones and corrupting their games, trapping them in the digital world that is now crumbling away into fragmented bytes
These heroes must make their way to the nearest portals to their starting zone and meet up with each other, before starting on a MMO/video game-world hopping multiverse journey of epic proportions, gathering allies, weapons and skills from these games to take on the BBEG and his army of corrupted, bugged mobs
