I'm very put off by characters who can't control themselves even a little bit, unless it's for some sort of plot that turns out to be interesting. Which is why I'm more drawn towards characters like Kazuma from Konosuba, the Devil King from Misfit of Demon King Academy, etc.

Hm, I think one of my most memorable pokemon mainstream moment was uh

The first time Blaziken appeared in the Johto series as a teaser to the next generation, and the arc with Ash's Chimchar (who was abandoned by Paul) became a beast of a pokemon

I just really like Hoenn and Sinnoh lol

Though I really love Boltund as my favorite electric pokemon, Corviknight as my favorite flying type, Aggron as my fave steel type, Zebstrika as another favorite electric

There's more customization but not in body type or etc I don't think. You can change their hairstyle, skin tone, I think eyes too? And you can give them different outfits and honestly it did a pretty decent job of it

You can't make them look like an old man, mature person, toddler or anything though. Just a regular teen looking bloke

Well I wouldn't make myself look like an old maid but I appreciate being able to change up my character's appearance. Something I always appreciate in games - SDV really gives you option. SoS: PoOT was rather disappointing to me though, just wasn't impressed with the outfits and hair styles.

In PoOT I got the materials to have the wedding dress made and had my character running around in it for a while, lol, it looked pretty funny watching her run around tending to livestock and harvesting crops.

Back when I played World of Warcraft, I didn't get into the... whatever they called it where you could change the skin of the armor you wore

but you had to get the armor/pieces you wanted

and you couldn't change the colors

Well I played late WotLK, Cata, and little of Panda. I quit and then started again for Warlords cause I thought things were going to be different but they weren't. I then played Vanilla but stopped again because I really didn't have anyone to play with - again another reason why I'm so hopeful for this game.

I had a draenei pally on Alliance! I loved her and I actually incorporated her into the project I'm working on as a different species but same roots, etc. And yeahh, I got into WoW because of an abusive friend, and we've long since stopped talking but I just played bc I liked the game and it was fun to chat with different people. I joined a guild, left bc GM was weird, they got into a scandal, I played solo for a good long while and it got lonely

So it's why I'm looking forward to this game too bc I just want someone to look forward to seeing me online and poking me, or me being excited to seeing a friend online and me poking them instead to play with me lol.

And it being an actual hang out thing instead of like "ok I need material from your shard so let me join and I'll leave"

I played with my ex when we were together but I played solo a lot back then too. Then I had to make a whole new account, and started playing with my current beau buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... I don't really read the quests, I just accept them and then run off to complete the objective. He likes to read them which then he didn't want to really play with me after a while.

But after I had came back, the atmosphere to the game was so different. People weren't the same and the community was harsher IMO

Haha honestly I do the same depending on the game. I'm a good speedreader so I get the best of both worlds, but most times you'll see me speed through a lot of stuff, understand the gist, and go off to complete my objective lol.

And yeahhh, lemme tell you how harsh the community got. A raid leader got really pissed I had to leave a raid midway bc of personal junk, and when I was bout to log off, he spoiled endgame for me and who died, when it was still new and coming out 😂

Other than that, lots of your normal run of the mill toxicity, people getting mad in dungeons over stuff that's unable to be controlled, just unwarranted stuff in general, etc.

I'm super casual, I just wanna run around with someone, joke around and have fun with it instead of doing "sweaty" stuff

I was a "care bear" player - if you are familiar with the terminology. I did care about getting good gear but that was mostly because I wanted to be able to help others. I know when I came back and was playing the Warlords expansion, I tried to do a couple dungeon runs for gear. One of the runs - the tank - was a newbie running a boosted character. They didn't know how to play their character and we TPK'd several times before everyone quit. Another run had an experienced tank BUT -- I was new to the dungeon so I didn't know all the tips and tricks to it. I kept getting killed, which was pissing people off.

In my older days (lol) - the tank would ask if anyone was new, if so, they'd explain what to watch out for, and other such details.

I also was not a fan of cross-server dungeon runs

Yeah I tried to get gear too but if it was more trouble than it was worth, it was immediately not worth my time haha. And my efforts in trying to help people ended up with them acting elitist like they knew everything (then wiping the group 3 times over on the same mob group) then they raged at whoever spoke up first lol. I've rarely met people who were new and were cool pepole, which was unfortunate because I signed up to be one of those "mentors helping newbies" people, and it just ended up being a whole advertising thing for mythic runs and etc where bots would try to spam the help channel

I was in a semi-good guild when I dipped into Vanillla -- very active and talkative but not very helpful. I died more often than not and no one was willing to spend any time to help me with leveling.

Sounds like the DM wasn't that great in general -- A good DM, upon knowing your hearing issues, would have supplied you with a written narrative, and would have asked the others to make sure to write their replies. I don't know where you played - if it was over Discord, Roll20 or maybe somewhere else.

Someone posted an image of their video game character, in a general chat channel for everyone to see. This was a fairly relevant post at the time, and fell into the scope of normal activity. My response was a generally supportive equivalent of, "Hey, that's cool."
And suddenly they're all up in my DMs asking where I live. And when i didn't reply, mostly due to being caught off guard, they have hastily promised to talk to me tomorrow.
Part of me feels like it's relatively harmless, although odd. The rest of me feels like I need an adult.
