I've not used Duolingo. I've used old school Pimsleur cassette tapes many moons ago. I started when I was a kid (very early weeb ) and connected with a Japanese teacher/ volunteer at a local cultural center

But devoured every resource I can get my hands on

I can understand a fair amount but am out of practice so I'm definitely at like toddler levels of speech now xD

I've lost my hearing over time due to a brain tumor, and now I am completely deaf. I can speak fine since I wasn't born with hearing problems, but some peeps suggest I learn another language (sign language) I know a bit but not a whole lot. I don't really want to learn more into sign because its a bit difficult for me. I usually can read peoples lips pretty good (if they speak slower to me) or just have them text/write out to me lol

Oh dang, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad you're still with us though! Brain tumors are really scary! But yeah, I've tried ASL but I've had a hard time memorizing it all, and I only learned like 3 or so gestures in ASL. People always try speaking ASL to me but then they either look at me like "Why not" and have a look of depreciation when I say I don't know it, or they get confused but move past it. I've spent more time reading people's lips, learning English fluently, and etc haha.

It's about a tower that suddenly appears one day, bringing with it a rain that gives anyone that tastes it a sense of overflowing euphoria. People want to climb the tower because the higher you are, the more rain falls.
Since people want to be as high up the tower as they can, they begin forcing other people to build the tower, and using their bodies when they die as material for the foundation of the tower.
Eventually, the tower falls and almost everyone perishes.

One day in the future, the ruins of the tower are searched, and a fossil of that "happiness rain" is discovered, and so they begin building and climbing the tower again...

So, there's a pile of companies of all different sizes trying to make rockets now. Astra is one that was going for this DARPA funded lunch challenge, where you had to prove the ability to launch a couple rockets in a really short time frame. It was to try to push the technology envelope forward. Astra built this tiny little rocket that could be produced and rolled out really quickly (they honestly stick it in a shipping container to send it to Alaska where the launch site is). They failed on their first two iterations of the their rocket, which is kinda to be expected, then their first Rocket 3 was destroyed in a fire on the pad, then another was terminated 30 seconds after launching, and the third almost made it to orbit, but had a slight engine issue. They did actually make it into space though, which was a big step for them. Now they are trying again.

A lot of people are upset because it isn't a straight up reboot. Changes were made. People hate change. Personally I like a lot of the things the show did, but I also understand why some don't. It's hard to explain without spoiling things, but it is pretty good if you go in without expectations and just treat it like a "What If..?" sort of thing.
Definitely binge ThunderCats!

Voltron on Netflix, beautifully done. Actually a great companion to the 2008 ThunderCats.
