A thought occurred to me whilst listening to "epic battle music": Crusades were allegedly done in a god's name, right? Typically to spread their "word" across the known world or to secure certain religious sites for their use. What would this same concept of Crusaders and Templars and knights look like if applied to a darker theme? I have this fascination with angels and demons and whatnot, I have no idea where I am going with this, except to say that I am trying to imagine a "dark crusade" or something from ancient times, such as a "crusade for Poseidon" or something. Just a strange DnD/RP/whatever you like idea.

I mean your not wrong. The goal of the crusades was to secure power and authority at a time when the churches power was being diminished by monarchy rule that felt as though it was above the church. They def used religious diffusion and acquisition of religious sites as a dogma though.

That's the one thing I appreciate about D&D 5e with Paladins is that you technically do not need to be a "Good" Paladin. I know paladins and crusaders are always viewed as being the ones to uphold "holy" values and being righteous. However, because their concept is built more around an oath to an idea, you can have any kind of paladin that can be "evil". Just looking at Paladin Oath of Conquest, that can be taken in two extremely polarized paths depending on who you are conquesting, whether it be poor innocents or people/creatures deemed as "evil".

It made some baby noises and didn't do anything for the longest time. THEN IT LUNGED at me, got in my face, and I just woke up like "Wtf happened what"

With sleep you'll need to keep a steady sleep schedule bc any changes to internal clocks can really hurt it in the long run. You'll also need to keep hydrated, and stay off computers and such for at least 30 minutes to an hour before bed so your brain doesn't confuse it for being daytime.

I don't have a consistent sleep schedule at all. It feels like I'm in a constant haze, with brain fog and loss of perception of time.

Too demotivated to actually do anything about it.

And that demotivation might come from the lack of sleep/messed up sleep schedule in the first place.

So I want to try to make learning a positive experience for the kids I'm teaching, and to actually teach, and not glorify or undermine specific subjects and events

When I was a kid I lived in a town of ~200 people. Mum said my grandma would get calls from the other side of town asking if they knew I was out walking the dog at 6 years old, and she would just say oh? Well he knows his way home. Lol different times back then.

Where I live now, I constantly see my 7-10 year old nieces riding there bikes across town to go to parks. Totally unattended.

Totally agreed. Honestly it's refreshing to see it. Kids shouldn't have to be hidden till they are teenagers out of fear that there is danger just waiting to grab them.

I came from a place where there was avid crime. You just didn't walk alone at night. Didn't matter if you were a full grown man or a child.
Here people leave there cars unlocked and I think the worst crime in years was a hit and run where it turned out the driver was an old lady and didn't even realize that she did it, and the dude just broke a leg or something. Hell I heard they even settled out of court because the guy was fine with her apology aand her insurance took care of the medical bills

The best way I could discribe it is that this is a very warm place.

I've only ever been on two trips by air, both alone and both were connecting flights. Absolutely hated it as I'm quite an anxious person who doesn't like being out of their element and doesn't like unexpected changes. Air travel presented all of those every time for me.

Things I learned:

• Flight details change like crazy
• Airport staff is incredibly helpful and friendly
• TSA agents are kinda hilarious; one told me she'd never seen a flashlight before and it made her suspicious. I told her she could keep it if she really wanted to, and she almost growled at me and shoved it back in my bag.
• Ticket staff is very patient and helpful
• One way or another, you will get where you're going
• Flights are generally uneventful, but the takeoff and landing made my stomach do weird things

If you miss a flight, most airports will be able to help you out. You've already paid for your flight, so if their layout cost you your seat, it'll be easier for them to ferry you onto an empty seat on the next available flight than to give you a hard time.

if its like here in frankfurt, the trains are labeled very clearly. If you need to leave from terminal 6 for example, then the trains will clearly be labelled as "this train takes you to terminal 6"

So a cool thing that I've read up on. Being beheaded is pretty gruesome since you don't die right away or shortly after, your head actually keeps basic functions for a good while after the beheading, and a french doctor actually did an experiment where he tested the freshly beheaded head of an executed criminal, and upon hearing his name, the head opened his eyes and looked straight at the doctor, as if he was just waking from a long nap
