LIke you can always watch any movie, even if it hasn't come out in the terrestrial world. Like we have all the avatar films down here. Issue is all the subtitles are 30 seconds too fast the entire movie, and you can't turn them off or turn the movie up.

The game was playable back in 2019, but because of the Riot acquisition and the amount of views on the trailer, it's been pushed back repeatedly. This is, I believe, the 2nd time they've given a general range of time and then backtracked. They keep making the scope of the game bigger, instead of delivering a fun and playable experience and adding regular updates which allows people to supply feedback on things the community actually wants.

Not to mention the lack of communication. Yesterday was the first time we had gotten any kind of direct contact or blogpost in 7 months. Before then, it was another 4 or 5 months. And that was after they repeatedly promised to be more open and direct with the community. We went from getting weekly blogposts every Friday to maybe a blogpost every half a year.

I mean i'm viewing this as someone who worked in the game industry, it's a really really really hard thing to make a game a success, even with the best people you only have a N% chance to be successful. Riot really needs their stuff to succeed, even with all their success some bad game could ruin the company, maybe not one bad attempt but a second one could. I'm not part of that community though, so maybe i feel less like putting pressure on them but i have a feeling that it's not worth or helpful to get upset about the delay. It's much better for the game to be fully polished and not just playable, since playable prototypes that also look good can be done within months.

There's a difference between a playable prototype and an actual playable near-launch build. They were looking for a mid-late 2019 beta and then release in 2020 back when they revealed in in 2018. But the trailer got too many views, they started scrapping and re-doing stuff, then Riot acquired them and it only pushed everything back farther. And I really wouldn't mind it if they had been honest with the community who's been following them since 2018, but instead they keep jerking us around and going back on their words.
