The renown hearts are one of my favorite GW2 aspects. You can complete a quest completely without combat in some areas just by being clever about how you award participation.

Honestly the grind is part of the thing that gives you satisfaction of doing the task. If everyone can do it instantly it's like when you play with cheats on. You think you want everything right now but it can really kill the games longevity.
