Most games use cooking for combat stats, but that isn't really going to be a thing here.

i think one of the FAQ answers or something pointed at cooking/food potentially giving some kind of benefit. at least they were shying away from it having a negative effect. and given there's skilling of some kind, it could be like a bonus to something that helps with say chopping down trees. but just speculation of course!

For context, 8 days ago, Neleimour and I talked about how we were hoping this little trailer from an unknown studio might bring in a few hundred sign ups. Needless to say, the response has blown us away and now we have hundreds of thousands of sign ups for our small test. We are not scoped for that.

However, we will have many more tests leading up to our launch, which we expect to run at higher player counts.

The bulk of my game development experience was at Riot Games, including League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra and some bits that support all their games. I've also done work on mobile and social games in the past. These days, I do less coding and am around to support the engineers to get the real work done.

One good thing to take into consideration with the NDA is people would be less inclined to "get alpha" just to be one of the few streaming it.

Also, player feedback is only one aspect of the iterative process in game design.

Furthermore, I don't really think Palia is the type of game that draws toxic players so I wouldn't worry to much about any of their alpha process 🙂

Server: You won't have to choose a server before you're allowed to make a character or anything, we'll let you go to where your friends are. But play between regions may have some restrictions so we can keep our network performance up. No server selection, hit the big play button and play with friends Players will be able to self organize more, you aren't tied down to a specific server Server Size? Can't address it all, but think smaller Server Size again? I don't think we're currently prepared to say. But if you're selected for pre-alpha, you'll find out.
