I wonder if Feb theyāre going to do some type or Hearts Day this year. They havenāt in the past, but itād be interesting. Or else just go full in for New Years again.
what is that weird gem back in the last tier?
Apparently another community vote, this time for a starstone tint
Well, I guess we got the announcement for the event but still no word on anything else

I vote for a Ruby palette
"Community Vote for a New Starstone Themed Tint"
with how tints are now, that's gonna be a waste, esp if someone puts the item in storage....
(I mean that with no shade towards you Palcat LOL)
oh they already answered. chat was scrolled up oopsie
Costs 30 star rubies
And I took that personally
/j
i really dont see how this new tint system is good. if they'd just fix storage when everyone was giving feedback over 2 years or so ago, then we wouldnt be in this situation
I got a ping and was like "Oh maybe they're addressing the problemdhajkfsa hahahaha who am I kidding"
You were just concurring.
Right? Like hey finally some in- oh. welp
idk why i still have palia news still pinging me when im not even active in the game at all rn
I also got way too excited about seeing a cute rat plush that's holding a cheese wedge-- the cheeseholes are heart-shaped.
Speaking of which, I'd also love a will-o-wisp tint
But yes, anyway. I still liked the idea that was said above about a yellow/sunflower coloured tint. Sunflowers. yay. love them gimmie
Same but honestly mostly just curiosity and having friends here LOL
You guys have pings on?
/lh
But yeah same. I just like seeing the familiar faces here from time to time
Oh yellows would be nice. I still want my dark green thatās in Hodariās house, but Iād love that for yāall.
im into hytale rn. i have a cracked version cause no monies but its fun
I know it probably wont ever happen now, esp since they already overhauled the tints/colour system... but i still wish we could choose which colours we would use on furniture. Or at least be able to choose which colours go on what part of said furniture
Cuz sometimes the tints don't look right bc of where it's just.. on lol
so it still just dyes the entire thing without letting you choose n all?
looks directly into the soul of calenthea
Would be nice for those who like decorating if the tints didn't go poof when put into storage.
(I'm not into decorating that much but that would make me so mad lol).
I at least like being able to see how the tint will look like next to all my other furniture/under different lighting instead of having to be running back and forth to the mod table
But I agree, having a Sims 3 style palette would be so great
idk why they go poof, esp since they never did with the old system
So manyt imes when you try to use the same tint for tons of furniture, and some of it just looks off because it chose the wrong one to be the "main" colour. and it's like. why
they could of just... copy pasted the not poofing from the old system while adding to it?
Basically, storage issues.
Shhh weād always have broken pavers then.
Yes! I honestly like that too. A looot
And yes, pretty much! I just pictured the 3 slots, and you choose which ones go where, so you can at least choose the "primary/main" colour
.
Primary/accent 1/accent 2 would be nice. Maybe for Release š
Honestly just shows the old system was unfinished and not stable enough. But guess that's how that philosophy of releasing things before perfecting works
I like certain aspects of the new system and think it improves on certain things, though as expected, implementation was not great and left the playerbase divided
84 years later...
Are there any proper browns/natural tints yet? I genuinely haven't looked at the new colours they added at all.
But i remember reallyr eally wanting more browns and natural looking furniture pieces, since I feel like those can fit almost any theme
We're gonna have Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5 before that happens.
Bc if not, then I really think a focus for tints should be more browns/natural looking ones, and then the fun ones like Yellow, Darker shades (like the green, that moose mentioned).
Iām also guilty of not looking. Iām one day of dailies before finishing the kitsuu path and having all the building bits to finally start making a new non-homestead primary plot, and didnāt want to bother decorating before.
I still need to see if thereās a workaround to finish my flower arch/waterfall in the housing geniuses
I think there's one? But I could be wrong tbh, I haven't experimented with them as much ever since they were released. There's a few ones I liked a lot though.
I think Olive was pretty earthy.
If you know of one please let me know cause mine's forever sitting on my plot like a white elephant.
Yes! That's the one. Olive looked pretty nice and natural I'd say. Slate was nice too? Though maybe not what Orii's thinking of
You mean like a giant rainbow ancient fish?
I honestly haven't decorated in palia in ages, just because I got frustrated a lot with the decorating system. I also have it uninstalled now since this patch upset me so much lol... but i'll probably install it again and give it a try if things get fixed.
But yeah, some tints just seemed too colourful at the time for me. I did my best to make it work, but sometimes it just.. didn't. And went to look at the tints, and yes, Olive looks nice! But I def mean like, fully all brown and wooden
Those will forever safely hidden away in my storage
I really don't have a use for giant plushes, except mayyyybe the Frogbert ones
But I'd need a new version of the bug arches for that one
Not sure if there are any others besides these, but this is what the wiki have so far.
Oliev looks nice, even Noir is kinda cool? And Paddock doesnt seem too bad.
But... would also depend on how it looks when used on furniture itself
Yeah, that looks about right.
Noir is pretty nice tbh, I liked it a lot too. But like you said, depends a lot on the furniture you apply it to.
I can just say, don't use leafy green on Bellflower. Spare yourselves.
I donāt recall Harmony? But yeah itās about time for some jewel-tones, yellows, pinks, and red
I know previously, I had stuff in Berry a lot, Calanthea sometimes (was very hit or miss), and Classic haha
I tried to use Autumn a bit, but i remember some of that orange was way too.. vibrant and it just
Give us silver, golden, brass please
Well now Iām going to.
White with gold accent, black with gold accent
I think the ones I used the most were Autumn/Classic? And Shore, before Alabaster was introduced
It does lettuce dirty tbh
But maybe it'd look cool on the Umbraan/EW stuff.
I was either shore or autumn. I used some classic to get red for my apple pie party plot. GOSH remember when Apple pies were part of the cash cooking????
Please, I've wanted this for ages
The unsung heros
They were so good for quick profit
A little apple and then 12 folks doing dough š
I was always on apple duty cause I had such an overflow of them
Not kidding when I say I had over 2k apples in my inventory at one point
Man, those were the days
Just used some browns that they already had. Something like this could work okay. Although i'd prefer the middle brown to be a bit darker, and not as bright, and be more as an accent than anything
((I just wanted to use the browns they already have made, instead of making me own))
(Brown from Olive, Harmony and Classic)
Although for a wooden one, i'd expect more of 2 shades of brown instead of 3. but all their tints seem to need "3" colours
Oh,this one looks like milk chocolate, I love it
(also makes me think of TooFaced's Chocolate palette
)
Hahaha, youre so right
I'm just a huge sucker for browns, really. I love them. Add some accents to it-- pink, yellow, whatever, and it usually can flow pretty nicely imo
Me wearing all brown clothing rn
(I know you love your cargo pants
). But yes I agree! Browns are always so nice for decorating.
perfect
I just find browns to be really calming & stuff. So I always like decorating with them if i can. I think that's why I was so saddened by the lack of them when I was really really into decorating near the start of open beta lol
I still love what I did create, of course, but yeah. It just made me have to think sometimes on how to make certain pieces work because of how the tints were
Well seems like they finally announced the new sales too /s
this should be all of the tints in game as of today
Does anyone know where to get snowballs? I sold mine and now need them for the bundle? Really panicking rn lolš
Bulletin Board and rummage pile drops
I love the olive, harmony, leafy and paddock
is anyone having trouble picking up the loot pile in kilma saying inventory full but its not :L
Is your ammo pouch full? If so, it might be bc the pile is trying to give you snowballs
yep you was right :L thank you xx
Just what you always wanted from the pile!
it was :L but i did get the recipe for the snowy pagoda thing but its not showing in my work table, also just sent me to a back room, why palia be glitchy today
This is because it's trying to give you snowballs and a piece of nonsense like a carrot. The snowballs would go either in your ammo pouch or storage so fare technically always lootable, but the item isn't.
TL: DR: it's not a recipe.
I got sent there too earlier, after having looted a snowy lawn and snowballs!
Newish player here! Am I ever going to find all these eggs to give to Zeki for this temple quest!?!?!?! Omg so frustrating Lolol.
you can follow guides on youtube, that's what i did for my last 2. but mostly i just ran around and got myself acquainted with the temple
I remember that one
my advice is checking a YouTube video (or a written guide if it's easier) cause some are pretty tricky to find
anyone know where can i get the loaded flowtato recipe?

P...
My game has devolved into this: pack inventory full, spend... now up to an hour and 41 minutes, relogging, sever syncing, etc. Hearing everyone either complaining about the (lack of) recipe drops or shouting "Bloom?" in chat. š¤£

my inventory is always full and i cant put anything away cause I have no room lol
i have a load of repeat artifacts that i cant get anyone to trade with me or give them away
ive stopped asking at this point
Quitting after two hours of no recipe luck, feeling very defeated. I've logged into Palia every day without fail since I started playing totalling around 7000 hours of gameplay. Not feeling very rewarded for that loyalty today.
just another day in the life of palia /j
I just trashed them using the function inside my inventory. Itās a shame that the Elderwood piles are so quickly useless
Yet we still have the elderwood piles on our quest bar
yeah ive just been trashing the extra extras cause i get to many
I don't even have that many hours logged in but I definitely understand the feeling
Same still haven't gotten the snowy umbrella recipe š
I'm just dreading logging on because while I know it's "optional" it just makes me go "what's the point"
I've logged in maybe twice for 5 minutes since the patch dropped
I mean, so long as you got the floors, the 20 Kilima coins arenāt worth
Eh true, though that'd put me at a negative -40 coins cause I never got those 20 coins when they were introduced
I just want those Waterlogged chests
But true, it doesn't justify the effort at all
Iām building up the coins in case I feel like buying more snake plushies. Using them on waterlogged chests feels meh, though Iāve not completed that set and need a million more makeshift gardens
Look if I can avoid fishing, I will take any chance I get to
The snake plushes are def worth it though
Thats why you have me ahaha im a fishing machine
Shame we can't trade/gift furniture though
These recipes being tied behind the pile are really creating a lot of stress for players.
I wish they would just drop them into our News Tab so everyone can relax and enjoy the update and mining event, rather than spending all this wasted time on piles š
The silence is what's getting me tbh. I hope something is announced soon because it's really burning out a lot of players.
Remember when devs used to come in and spitball? Listen to our crazy ideas and jot them down on a vision board? Miss those times.
I mean, thatās pretty much how we got the book clutter
I miss those days
āYou guys want that? Bc I like making clutterā¦ā then BOOM. two updates later, books.
It's not the same, but I agree. If they would give us the furniture I would be so much happier because right now I don't feel like logging in...even to mine, and that's one of the things I loved doing in Palia
Right there with you friend really not feeling it with this update either due to this, and that's saying a lot when it's even coming from players who have the amount of hours we have and play daily.
I had HOPED with the announce of a āHodari eventā that they might be reverting one of the mining changes to make it profitable again
And bribing them with Sailor Moon gifs in return
I still want that rainbow kitsuu plush gosh darn it
Still eludes me when mining palium/platinum ore in Elderwood
Same. I don't even have motivation to do the mining event. Was I going to grind for hours? No, but I was going to kick back mining for a bit. But the state of the game right now, the built up frustrations and silence just demotivates me so much from logging in and just uninstalling altogether.
Makes me not even want to participate in the mining event cuz finishing the board is always on my mind.
Random vent incoming, but I'm in this predicament of having hundreds of snowballs flooding my storage but absolutely nothing to use them on
but I feel compelled to keep them because if the recipe does show itself I'll be left empty-handed. The balance, where is it??
Okay, sorry.
Honestly, this is how I felt about the snowman event as well.
It's an awful feeling, makes ppl not want to log on after a while.
Oh no, you're completely right.
And I never feel that way.
real
Telling players not to hoard but then expecting them to is really sending mixed messages.
how many can we hold in a slot?
Really hope this is addressed before the event is over. And if they can't drop the recipes into our News Tab, at least give us the Kilima Coins from that Bundle to compensate.
in the ammo pouch
Snowballs? 100 per slot
I hope so too. At least some sort of confirmation or reassurance would be nice
I mean if they had time to update the sales
Players deserve an explanation and an apology tbh cause this felt like such a slap to many
It's also def an issue that bc of the RNG being so bad, that people have to do the rummage pile trick in hopes to get said recipe. That's def a sign that something isn't right & is very wrong.
And then I think about the people who don't know that trick, or anything, and genuinely loot the pile once per day
...
Things have not been great for a while and this is what many of us were concerned about for a long time.
I get why they locked it via RNG in a sense-- because of player retention and want to have players log in more. I get it. But you shouldn't have it be that bad. Plus, the community event that's going on right now, helps with that anyways.
I guess we could give up our Smokebombs and pelt bugs with snow and pretend we caught 'em
imagination power?
Counterpoint: Last night I got a recipe on the 3rd relog. The night before I got one on the 1st try.
If you don't have the time to log in and do weeklies, dailies and decide to only log in the days before the patch goes away, you're on your own I'd say.
Getting recipes from the pile is already bad enough as far as RNG goes, but then to tie a bulletin board bundle behind it is so not cozy.
so I've heard some people are able to unlock the last chest on the board and get the floors/wallpapers without finishing the bundle with the recipes? is it just from XP from doing skills or something else?
That's our point. It's RNG.
& I know people have said that you "dont have to do that bundle", but
- Some people dont have time to login every day to make sure they do dailies/weeklies/etc. It sounded like there is just enough to do everything to unlock it all. That still seems a bit skewed to me.
- Some people are completionists and want to complete it all. (Sometimes it's a want, and for some folks it migth feel like a 'need' because it's something that is incomplete).
It just doesn't feel properly balanced atm.
May I put in a small note from what I have personally seen myself. Occasionally I play with Palia Partners, sometimes the devs pop in and play with us. I do know that there are team members in S6 for different areas of the game. There are devs, sales, even support is different from what I have discovered.
So yes your frustrations are completely valid, but may we not blame sales news with getting updates on a bug that occurred with the Kilima Coins, as they are seperate from one another.
I don't think anybody was actually blaming sales news, but rather that the timing and stuff wasn't too great.
By the time we get these recipes even if they weren't on the board, snowy season will be gone.
Who wants to decorate their snowy plots come spring/summer? Not me. I have moved on to the next one.
Not to mention snowballs will probably be removed and it takes tons of those to make these things.
Yes, the floorings are unlockable without needing to complete the bundles, cause it's a different tracker. The rewards from tye bundle alone are separate. But it's not properly explained in game and you'll miss out on some Killima coins, which some people spent a lot of them on trying to obtain the recipes m
Alrighty, just wanted to be sure, as text can sometime mix things up
through Dailies and weeklies, they grant progress towards the reward track as well
oh, thanks! I had no clue.
Especially considering the Community Event and Sales news were posted about 40ish minutes apart. The timing just seemed a bit... yeah. Plus, people have been mentioning this issue since the update dropped haha.
And a lot of it is also the fact that a lot of things have felt like it gets swept under the rug or not properly addressed. Which is the main issue.
Respectfully Tab, but I think you misread my message. Like Orii said, I'm not blaming sales news. And I wasn't talking about the Killima coins, I was talking about the overall player frustration with them RNG recipes being tied to bundles, the Paths and other issues.
Just wanted to be sure, thankyou honestly for clearing that up
Apologies go a long way, it's all I'm saying. But great we got it cleared up.
Mayhaps may I offer some cheese for my apolocheese/apologies
Yep. I mean, I don't think anybody ever really blames S6 or whatever here. A lot of it is usually in regards to timing and hoping for things to just get better addressed and communicated.
And yeah, like you said, text can be mixed up and stuff. Which I get it. But it also is a lil upsetting when things come across as if we're blaming people, etc. Just doesn't feel great, lol. Especially when it comes across almost as if a warning.
This one is also impatiently waiting next to her phone for an important call, so my brain is a lil splattered everywhere atm. Soo that is my bad for mixing things up. Appreciate yall for clearing the air
I can understand that-- considering I get major anxiety in regards to phone calls as a whole (important or not). But-- and I am saying this genuinely and respectfully-- if youre having anxiety or having any form of nerves, to... take a moment to try to relax instead of potential mod work? (Again, saying this respectfully and genuinely!)
Ohh my wording was not meant for a warning, yeah I am a mod here, but I became one as I very deeply care about the community and also the wellness of the game. I just wanted to share a side of view that I personally saw for myself and heard from the devs playing with us
Yes I agree with Orii. It's always good to take a breather
I get it, but since you are a mod, saying things like that do come across as a warning-- intentionally or not, lol
my bad
Thanks yall for being open and honest about all this as well. Appreciate having discussions without ill intentions or yelling, much different from my past days. One thing I do much enjoy with the Palia community
This is also def one of those "hoarding" situations, because I doubt there will be ways to get snowballs through the rest of the year. I mean, it makes sense, because... well.. snow... but
Again, mixed messaging. There's just so many things that didn't seem to follow a logical path with this update, mainly with the snowballs.
Id be down for a storage revamp! I just honestly wouldnt know how. Maybe increase the current biggest chests?
It's like it's taunting us...
Ammo pouches would be nice too, like, having those tabs separate perhaps? Arrows independently from worms/smoke bombs/etc.
A lockbox storage increase would be so appreciated too.
oh for sure! im already glad that the animal treats are seperate currently.
Id also like an easier way to look up specific items in my storage personally
Yeah, I'm not really sure either. Specifically because of how they already have storage issues, bc of how much is in there etc.
But having a specific chest (similar to locked) for just ammo. Increasing locked storage chest. Maybe items can "stack" to a certain amount before counting as "1" (esp since sometimes seeds go up by a lot, ammo/worms/etc).
I arrive with coffee, hello friends
Itād be cool if ammo and bug bombs didnāt count towards storage. *looks at snowbillsā
My storage chests currently feel like that one drawer in my real life house full of clutter... lots of stuff there, just uncertain what is whereš
The storage UI feels so smal at times
Crafters counting as storage as well. I can kinda make sense of it but still. Please.
A chest for all ammo would be nice (if the snowballs could please go there tooš)
Oh and flowers. Half my inventory is just flowers. We can't place them all on our plots anyways cause they also have a limit there.
I wish things had more tags for the search function. I haven't tried in a while, but i remember when the treats came out... you would type "treat" and only a few would pop up cuz not all of them were labeled as a treat
But, maybe not just easier way to search for it, but maybe adding more filters or ways to filter to find things?
Like for funiture/tints-- have a filter for specific colours?
i like the sound of this, my storage feels messy at best, i play mostly on xbox and searching for anything specific can be a bit of an issue at times haha.
i believe this was a bug right not an intended thing? but it is definitely confusing
UI sliders should be a basic function in every game imo
I just need three sizes. Small. Normal. Large. Let me have more Palia on my screen while assisting the visually impaired.
Yes, it's a bug. But considering the recipes needed for the bundle require snowballs, it's def made a lot of people confused
I get it, lol!
Gosh, or maybe a way to mark things as "favourite" so you can easily find them? (And it would stay even if you used them all). Could help with finding the things that you use the most.
And same with recipes! Would be nice to have easier ways for that!
UI Slider, being able to toggle on/off specific visuals (along with a keybind to turn off all HUD for screenshots since their photo mode atm is... yep.)
Finally set up my alchemist house and i'm sad that the windows arent see through like tamalas š©
Can I say your pfp if just chefs kiss
AHA literally my fav, ill never change it
After an hour of mining, I am happy to have contributed 5 whole starstones for the event.

(You didn't see my typos. Idk what you're talking about).
Definitely expresses your feelings about the non transparent windows as well
oh darn. i forgot about this š wanted to hop online in a bit anyway

Could we add a 'May I join?' option to the chat wheel? I enjoy bug hunting but often play alone. While randomly joining lures used to be common, some players now prefer privacy. Having a quick way to ask permission would help me participate respectfully without the fear of upsetting others or wasting their timed lures typing a whole answer.
That would be a good one, yeah! "Party up?" could work for now, maybe? I know it's not the same vibe or anything, though :(
Yea sometimes parties are full or people don't want to party but are cool with a person joining their lure so I thought this could bridge the gap š
Yep, I completely get it! I hope they add others, but ~~they did mention in the patch notes they weren't planning on future updates on the feature. ~~ (read comment below, i misread this oopsie)
But hopefully with enough feedback and stuff, they'll add more to it!
I'm a huge supporter and have been asking for quick chat for ages, so I'm glad it's been added. I just hope it gets expanded upon for the reasons we mentioned lol
Oh wait, I misread it. It does say additional ones are planned. Oh my god, it's just after them saying "no" so i misread it. š ignore me
Context:: "By default, the wheel includes 8 commonly used phrases, such as Hello, Thank You, Yes, and No. Additional customization options are planned for future updates of the feature."
So I'm sure you can see my confusion rofl
I do this all the time, youre fine lol
Clearly I missed that too hahaha
Hahaha, Im just giggling to myself. I usually try to re-read multiple times, esp bc dyslexia. But i think that period was just way too small and easy to miss
No worries, I'm apparently unable to understand at all because I didn't catch that part in the notes at all. So thank you!
Some of them are-- Party up, On My Way, Come here (follow me), Thank you
Those are the default stickers and ones that match with the quick chat!
It's hard to read through patch notes sometimes, just bc of all the info and stuff sometimes! So I completely get it. Either way, sending in feedback for other ideas to add is great
Adding on: The others are, "Flare Up!", "LOL", "Waiting for you!", and "You're welcome!"
Sorry would be a good one too
i bet 90% of ppl dont know where flares can be aquiered and how to craft and use them cause i see so many ppl dont flare or call things
Now that I think about it and since you pointed it out Ciri, it does make me a little confused why there's now both stickers that put messages in chat, and now quick chat.
I mean, either way, Quick chat is great haha. But it did just me go "hm"
It's not really so much that as just people either choosing not to. Also iirc you can only have 1 active at a time or something. So you can't flare multiple things if I'm correct.
I mean, some people sure. But there are also people like me, who don't like using them because of photosensitivity issues. Or are just overall vibing & stuff.
(Plus, they aren't as helpful in EW, from what I understand.)
I personally see flaring the same as the etiquette, it's a courtesy.
yeah one flare every 3 min
in ew i see the point but in kilima or bahari its kinda sad.
yeah me too thats why i am flaring and calling things but most ppl i see mine gold and other things
Again, it's a courtesy tbh. People aren't obliged to, have photosensitivity issues or just are in a rush. Specially hard for console players cause typing is harder there to point out coordinates.
Shrugs. Like I said, some people just don't want to use them (like me), because of photosensitivity issues. Or just are wanting to vibe and don't really think about it.
I personally don't flare often, I'll call out some stuff but calling people for a 2 ore node seems like a waste tbh.
And yes, even just shooting those can be too much. Sometimes I struggle even just shooting arrows at huntables because of the bright 'ball' of light that appears as the hit marker. (Same goes for hitting trees, mining nodes, etc)
When I was trying to replicate the underground firework issue on my plot, shooting those flares repeatedly def can get quite bright. I know not everyone is going to do that but yeah, the flash hit on objectives can get quite a bit.
I used to call things out in regards to mining nodes, but after they changed it to where theyre on a timer...
I don't feel as pressured.
And half the time i dont even think about it if I loot a dari clove or something, bc i am just autopilot and i just randomly grab stuff
. By the time I realize, I'm already outta there
Forgot to reply to this, but you're right. Also did they release more of them? /gen
Well hopefully they will consider adding something like "May I join?" for the specific idea of asking permissions to join lures. I use to be excited to see a lure since I don't have a group and now I see them and try to walk around and since the lure is timed I don't want to make people stop what they're doing just to type
Yep, I agree haha. I guess because stickers are more... "Cosmetic", i guess.
Yeah exactly. I fully agree.
I think so? I know they added some flex chappa to the premium store lol, but I don't think they added any new 'free' ones...? I dont think?
I think that might of been the only new one, actually lol
Yeah, they definitely feel like that. I still remember when they advertised them as a way to enhance player customisation and.... Well
Wait no, there was another premium one of Zeki, for "Thanks, Pal!"
What are some phrases other than "May I Join?" that you'd like to see?
"Sorry", "Be Right Back!", "Bye!", and part of me was also thinking of something like "Add me!" or something similar.
"Want to Hunt?" (same for bugs, fish, mining)
"I'm ready!"
Along with ones for Kilima/Bahari/EW, so if someone is trying to communicate where theyre going (esp if theyre going to BRB), they can give a heads up. Or where they want to hunt at or something.
I think this is also why I wish Quick Chat had a few more options or ways to use (similar to what Among us has), but i know that isnt... really easy since it's on Playstation, Xbox and stuff now lol, so that'd probably be a lil harder. Maybe
Because then someone coudl be like,
"I'm going to..." and then slect "Kilima/Bahari/EW".
I second all of these
The idea came to me simply because in a timed lure, I dont want to waste anyones time typing
That was going to be my next suggestion actually! But I held off because I know some people could abuse that real quick
Acutally, now that I think about it. Among us is on Playstation and stuff... so their quick chat probably does work and stuff decently.
Just how I wish quick chat was, esp since Palia has so many diff things you can call out, and mention.
So being able to create "phrases" for that would of been nice. But yeah.
And agree, having ways for players to make and save their own quick chats would be nice, esp if it is literally like... "Going to..." then selecting an area.
Theyād need a way to moderate it, like chat blocking words
Oooh, yeah I read it more as like, choosing from already default options to put them together
Also some shorthanded ones like BRB, AFK (away from keyboard), etc.
But this is how Among us is. It brings up a wheel, and you can choose which "Category" it'd be in, so you can form a phrase. It'd definitely take a bit, but if it had that + what ciri said with making their own quick chats (and faving them), it could be okay.
Iām glad some of the accessibility is getting attention, even if itās not the ones I keep slapping on the bingo cards. Progress!
Maybe they could let us "PICK" the ones that best fit what we'd like to use out of the group like with the stickers and such
On the subject of flares. I wish the flares did something more than just simply signal a spot. I can't tell you the amount of times I've wasted a flare, called out to everyone just watch the item disappear not giving anyone any time to get to it. If the flare "extended" the time just a bit longer for the item to not disappear, that might be worth the extra step but as it is now, I do it anyways but feel frustrated when its gone within seconds.
it start glow before it vanish into the abyss but yeah would be nice if there would be a timer or some sort of other UI thing over the things so you know if it is worth calling/flareing it
Even a faint line going from "green to yellow to red" To show Decay would be great if they can't do anything else (Although accesibility for color blind people might need a different consideration)
Having the patch before a long weekend (so Tuesday was probablyall parch prep and recovery, they could properly listen Wednesday and Thursday, Friday was some taking an extra long weekend, Monday off, Tuesday again some taking an extra long weekend as people tend to)
and having the event plus sales start on a holiday (so the announcements were made by someone off that day)
really exacerbates the frustration with communication doesn't it (its been 6 days since the patch but only 2 full working days with full staff really reacting).
Soooo... Is it me or did they launch the Starstone Event almost 12 hours late?
According to the announcement, it should have started at 1am last night for me, but I'm just now seeing it
It started at 11pm UTC last night as announced. There's just no trigger for it. Hit rocks, that's it.
Okay. Cause there was nothing on the login screen earlier today, but when I logged in just a few minutes ago, it showed the event in the corner
I thought that meant it only just launched
More likely means they only just updated that screen š
The discord and in game announcements were delayed by the US federal holiday yesterday but the event started on time #š¬āpalia-general message
A holiday? That explains it. Thanks š
Yup - Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Oh snap! āā
⨠Midsummer Board- Kenli. Flower oriented
⨠Faire Fun- Badruu. Ranching treat rewards.
āØSpiritFest- Najuma. Spooky decor.
āØFestival of Bounty- Chayne. Floors and wallpapers.
āØWinterlights- Reth. Decor recipes (stringlights).
āØSnowy Skitterer- Elouisa. Floors and wallpapers.
Seems to be bouncing among the households, so what/who do we want to speculate the next Bulletin Board will be for? What rewards do we want?
I think a Zeki/Palcat board, which would require us to fish, craft some chic decor for Zeki's office, prbly make him some seafood inspired dishes, and reward us with some Super Lucky Coins and Palcat goodies, like the Twitch drop glasses that many players weren't around for. Also, a Path of the Palcat with the Palcat FOMO items like the wallpapers would be neat.
Assuming next big board event is timed for start of spring after the market, I rckon it could be Hassian or Einar, getting us out in the springtime wilds, maybe new plushies and decor items
I think it's time to start reissuing the items that first appeared in the Twitch drops, what, two years ago?
btw i love how well-thought-out this post was. Kudos!
I've been sitting on it a few days, and considering how the reactions to this board have been, I figured it'd be good to put the ideas that we like out there for S6 to stumble on.
would not be surprised if they plan to reintroduce the palcat items with future paths, the current one already has the mat in it
next bulletin board will for sure be themed around Luna new year
maybe even with a few luna maji market items we would need to submit (but hopefully not bcs that would suck a tiny bit)
I like that the boards have been an avenue to give us more recipes and floors/wallpapers. I certainly don't mind those as rewards.
And the Paths feel like a good way to get items into the game that used to be FOMO.
Nai'o themed Board? He's the closest I can think to associate with Year of the Horse.
oh that would make a lot of sense
Anyone else having an issue getting the two snowy recipes for the umbrella and parosol?
only things I need for the bundle
after we get the jewels do you have to hold onto them until the end of the week?
or can i sale them?
It's a known issue that is being addressed
Sell, keep, whatever you like!
So it doesnt matter, just as long as you mined them
I dont think this is referring to that though, the bug is regarding players not obtaining a reward from the Goodie Bags when opened.
You can sell them in the patch notes is a blog post and a faq if you got more questions check it out in the news tab
Sadly, the recipes are RNG so it's just random, even if you do the inventory trick to force recipes.
h nerds, really? I took that to mean the bad drop rate overall that everyone (broadly) is finding so infurating. Thanks for clarification.
Sadly not, no word on that. This was to address the Goodie Bags specifically.
Has anyone else stopped playing as much recently because the bugs are just getting out of hand?
No, but that's because this is the game my brain latched on to after getting laid off to help me cope with having a lot of free time. So I imagine as I start to feel better about things, I'll be playing less... But that hasn't happened quite yet.
Partly this, partly not feeling like my time is rewarded/respected and unadressed issues.
Honestly felt, this game helped me through some times before so it's kinda bittersweet to let go sometimes.
That makes a lot of sense, honestly. When I was playing, it helped me a ton mentally way more than I expected even my dreams were Palia for a while š It was genuinely therapeutic during a rough stretch.
Itās definitely hard to stay invested when itās no longer giving back the same
The community here is great, which likely helps more than the RNG hunts in the game.
Though there's something to be said about the calm repetitive mining (and I can't resist the Starstone hunt).
I am internally screaming about the rummage recipes, so that feels like I'm back at work. š
Agreed. The community and chill loop helps a lot. I havenāt seen the Star stone and rummage recipes but it sounds like a trap⦠a soothing trap lol š
Mostly because Iām bored, or tasks take so much time that I donāt have to spare or the toxic people lashing out at others in the in-game chat about fake rules or for āruiningā their hunting/bug catching parties.
Totally understandable some tasks feel like a time sink and it feels weird when people get territorial or hostile over made up rules. Sucks the fun right out of it and Iām not tryna deal with that energy
The player made rules disguised as "etiquette" has soured so much of the comunity for me, personally (not directing anyone here, just talking generally).
Just people getting mean if you don't know/follow them?
Exactly. I havenāt played in a month, been playing other games. I decided to check out the new Palia stuff, not even on for 5 minutes and there was already someone going off on another player.
But also this loot pile recipe šµāš«
I have to log on daily just to obtain snowballs + corn? Gross haha.
Agreed!! It was only recently that I discovered that if you set off a second flare the first ended. I understand not wanting to have flares going forever everywhere but sometimes I go through two or three waiting for someone to come help me with a tree I can't take down myself
That took me a while too lol, one flare cancelling out the previous
I just hit level 50 on ranching and mining today. I got my gold trophy for mining but not for ranching š„ŗ
Will they be adding a trophy for ranching in the future?
Happened to me with Elder Scrolls Online, I got burnt out after years of playing and just haven't touched it.
A couple thousand hours on there but it is what it is. You get burned out, games shut down, etc.
Yepp, been there definitely
It's why we push for things to improve and stuff, so the game can do better.
Yeah, and it sucks to get brushed off cause we've seen this song and dance before.
But hey what do we know.
They say you can do whatever you want with the jewels. You can sell them, display them etc. You will contribute to the community amount just by catching them š
My friend is experiencing this issue too, was there ever a solution?
this is his schedule
if you can't see him during the day, try talking to him through his bedroom door between 11pm and 4am in-game time
She doesnt see him at all and cant talk to him through his door. no option shows up for her
we're on the same server and I can see him, but she cant
bugs here it keeps happening to me and its so annoying....as u see i have 17 plant fiber but in my quest it doesnt show and even after i get 20 or more it wont let me get the reward
the option to talk to him through his bedroom door will only show during his sleep hours. Has she definitely tried between 11pm and 4am? sometimes it takes a second to show up, 12am-3am may be a safer bet.
if you're seeing him and she's not, its likely due to differences in quest progress. talking to him through the door at night is sort of a workaround to this.
Sometimes I find claiming or rerolling the other daily will trigger it to register that you've collected materials?
Or the classic change servers/restart your game.
huh this was happening with the last board if the outro quest was in progress, but I don't think there's anything on right now that should cause it
does hodari have any other dynamic pathing events?
~~and Hodari isnāt possibly at her plot? (or Badruu is blocking other NPCs like he always does for new players lol)
they changed some early quests last year, no clue if they changed brick by brick as well but if they did that would at least explain why he doesnāt show up for her~~
edit: okay checked a playthrough, doesnāt seem to be the case so that's weird that he doesnāt show up
might explain how after redeeming two patches worth of coins I only got a handfull of corn, wheat, and copper...
Oh just to clarify, that issue Lacie posted about is more about players who weren't getting any rewards from the Goodie bags, I think otherwise, getting the same loot pile as the piles is intended
As silly as I find it as well, but hoping they could also provide some more clarity on it too
Is the underground in the basement of Zekiās general store? And if so, how do I get the key?
I got that, I rapid clicked and my loot seemed awfully light for the amount of bags I opened
i just hope that S6 realise locking bundle required recipies behind the RNG of rummage piles is the most brain dead attrocity of an idea and never do it again after this lot.
I agree it feels pretty thoughtless. There isn't a whole lot of communication going on about the player concern over these recipes. Will these recipes still be available after this patch cycle? Will players who obtain the recipes after this patch cycle have a means to obtain snowballs to craft said recipes, or will they be forced to wait until they return next December? Is the team aware that one of the snowy items is dependent on not one but two rng based rummage pile drops? Questions!
Yes there is a door you can use there -- you'll get the key for that door after you complete the quest "Wares in Low Places"
Until then, the sewers entrance is where you'll go!
Yes, work on his friendship first. (Level 2)
https://gamerant.com/palia-how-find-zeki-underground-location/
Ohhh gotcha. Yeah hopefully it gets fixed.
Also just to reply to the last question, though you may already be aware, Lacie has brought it up to the team, so they're aware, at least. But no other words aside from that.
Lacie is just one (IMHO overworked) person, I wish further up the chain more thought was put into implementing some things so the downstream workload would be lighter for all concerned.
I'd make a joke saying, it's beta, we're the playtesters but.
It's not balanced at all. I have so many thoughts regarding this patch overall, but the best word that describes it to me is incoherent. So much stuff doesn't seem to follow a logical path.
yeah they announcement made me thinkg the starstones were gonna be the bundle - i have so many mined already that are now basicaly worthless
they're not worthless, though, they don't deprciate over time or with market saturation. I also feel, on that front, the starstone event has been pretty clear with timings, goals and requirements, tbh. sell your stonesm make a pretty penny, go nuts with the alchemy system
Minus the unemployed. No one needs that in this economy.
I partially disagree with this tbh considering the late announcement and the odd time it started, most of these events have started way earlier in the morning. So I can understand players confusion as well.
Yeah, specially considering how many layoffs there were in this studio already. Just should've been better thought out.
Oh come on. A couple of recipes on a magical board that exists only to reward you and someone should lose their job over it?
I really think that, yeah, the bundle thing is irritating, but we might be losing our collective perspective a little, no?
Just do something else for a while.
Um.
The block button is a wonderful thing.
While I agree it's not necessarily fair or that we should be asking for employees to be booted, I don't know if it's the best to dismiss frustrations like that either.
Like, yeah being frustrated is one thing and shouldn't be directed directly at someone but let's try to be constructive
Tysm!
This is also what we're talking about with getting brushed off when we have criticism.
While I'm frustrated I would never hope anyone gets fired without reason. But I don't think that's the collective's desire either, we just want things to get addressed.
Right? Like I'm wishing for more employees.
we should have more CMs like we did in the past, there should be more people working on the game and then we could hopefully have things addressed to the point that they can work on their cash shop and also solve things like the fireworks in the underground sooner rather than months or years later.
Nobody said people should lose their job over it at all, btw.
Oh wait, I see the unemployed comment. But I still dont' think most ppl here are saying that at all
I wasn't trying to brush anyone off, but there was no real response to someone twice suggesting someone losing their job?
We play this for fun. Something's annoying, be annoye.d Share being annoyed with other annoyed people. I'm annoyed, too. But then I figured being annoyed isn't going to fix anything or make anyone happier and got on with other stuff.
Wasn't trying to upset or further annoy anyone, but calling for someone to get fired? In a game that promotes community, kindness and patience? That was sort of my limit.
Apologies if I really did upset anyone. That wasn't my intention.
On that front, yeah, saying ppl should lose their jobs or be unemployed is definitely way too far lol
The point i was trying to make is if we accept this current bundle issue with RNG locked recipeis whats to stop the next step being - "you will only get the recpie if you interact with the rummage pile at 06:38:13GMT with a random mix of star and non-star quality fruits and fish in your inventory that changes at 04:00:00GMT daily?"
Like, I'm still upset and frustrated with this patch. Not as much as I was on the day, but I still am. I just uninstalled and still just help ppl when I can in the chat.
But calling for ppl to be unemployed over it is definitely way too far.
Stepping away for a bit. I suspect I just became the baddie and I'm feeling super uncomfortable. Genuinely wishing you all a fun and happy evening ā¤ļø
I think it's rather the tone came across that way, tone can be hard to read on text, but we've often also met here with that line of "go play something else/do something else instead" and it can come across quite dismissive.
I also agree with you that we need to keep our perspectives and see were you were coming from, but it's the last line that was kinda too much, tbh, or couldve been said another way. We could all use a breather sometimes.
The RNG in the rummage piles are definitely not great, and something that needs to be worked on. Which is one of the reasons why a lot of us have expressed that frustration-- whether it's bc it's RNG related, or the fact that it's literally locked behind MSQ (which some can't do bc accessibility reasons)
I just want them to properly address things and own up to it. It's understandable to make mistakes, but just be more communicative.
Yeah cause "do something else" comes off as condescending. IMO
(Edit: I'm not trying to be rude or anything like that, just saying how it comes off whether it's meant or not. Tone doesn't come through text and something like /Gen (for genuine) goes a loooong ways). /gen
Just wanting to say I apologize! (Esp since I didn't see the unemployed comment previously). I hope you feel better soon overall.
Hope you feel better soon too. It wasn't my intention (or anyone's I think) to point fingers or assign blame. Just that communication is important and tone can be hard to read, specially in text.
Yess, love tone indicators!
So how about them starstones.
Still wish the drop rate on those were higher haha
Star Quality Jasper is bugged - over a year and still never gotten one
Has there been any word on if they're changing or updating the tinted furniture storage situation? I still don't understand why they can't just refund the tint when you put the item in storage
Yeah I mined for about an hour and got about...5? Which for an hour isn't bad but others RNG is so good.
!feedback if you haven't already! (If you have then ignore me haha).
(IIRC, no word yet but the more people that put in feedback then hopefully they implement it.
)

I just remember when I couldn't do many skills one day cuz flare up, so I was like "oh i can go mining for some gold" and it felt like i got nothing. it was not much profit at all, even when i got only a few star stones. Which saddened me a bit lol
Thank you, I will do that š
Right? Mining in other games feels so much more profitable. It's kinda sad it isn't on Palia
Yeah, I always get a garnet or citrine.
I've gotten like one or two rubies hahaha.
I think I've gotten one...? lol, but i also didn't and haven't mined as much as others. Esp since i felt like it was a waste of my time bc of the low profit.
I sensed a disturbance in the force but I see all is well now
Felt better to just throw smoke-bombs at bugs that would drop silk thread.
Rel please
Are we making prequel jokes now? Don't force my hand
I still have this completely unfounded theory that different servers have different RNG. Might just be copium for my bad luck tho
Which sucks cause I like mining
I go mining+exploring+foraging, put on an audiobook and just go.
(RIP my autocorrect wanted to put exploring as expiring
).
Wish I could share all my precious with you both
I'm someone who will spend hours just mining or getting herbs on WoW. (and now lumber with their new housing system they released and decor š ) ... so I compeltely get you there lol, and it's also why it saddened me so much on Palia
I haven't played WOW in so long
Me doing Herblore on OSRS
I need to join the WoW gang one day
I still play every once in a while. Esp since housing got announced and then released
Makes me feel like I have some of that casual gameplay back, which I adore doing in any game. Love just going mining, herbing and everything else.
It's what I liked with palia at first. vibing, not pay attention, and get stuff
I loved turning my brain off to do cake parties while watching some show or talking with friends. Those were the days.

I do miss the old community & folks I did cake parties with, because it literally was one of the most welcoming experiences I had. They were understanding about my social anxiety and let me just vibe and sit in for a while at first. They even made a "chair/seat" spot for me where I sat
And they were very understanding when I finally got the courage to give it a try once. It was just a really nice experience, and they never got mad at anybody who might of messed up a step.
I miss those days
That sounds so wonderful. I really want to find people to play with who are like that. Super happy you had that excellent experience
I can completely understand that frustration and I will always try and help if I see a request
Sooo I see the extremely ironic humor in the idea of a Riffroc being revealed in plushie form before an actual model is released (if that happens) buuut I still really want it 'cause lil horsey guy.
Speaking of which, anyone remember if there was art for the Naga/Snake before its plush-debut?
Or was it just, "surprise, here's an orange snek"?
I think this was the case, but dont quote me on that
Dang, a cool snake design woulda been somethin'.
Though if someone knows of a teaser or previous design that was shown, please feel free to post it here cause I'd love to see that too.
Pretty sure it was a surprise, bc it was for the year of the snake
Hi ! Could someone please explain to me what is a cooking party and how i can join/know if one is hosted ? šø
hello guyssss when does the maji market start?
Not until next patch, in February
A cooking party is when ppl are gathering to go cooking and sell the food for money its not that popular anymore cause they nerfed anything that gives you good gold or sometimes ppl do a cooking party for the board food so they can do this together.
This Patch we will have Luna New Year Event
Okay i see ! Thank you šø
!cakeparty
How to join a Cake Party: You can check available parties made here: https://discord.com/channels/809856101326913567/1445866314949202012
- Double check all info within the post's Title and Description, provided by the Original Poster/Party Owner.
- Make sure you have enough ingredients for the amount of cakes specified in the post, as well as enough time to complete them (some cake parties can be quite time consuming).
- If a link is provided for the Party App as a signup, make sure you select the correct cooking station (which shows how much of every ingredient is required) and that your name is the same as in-game (this is for getting invited by the Party Owner).
- If you've already signed up, but can't make it in time for the specified start time (it is better to be ready a bit early to avoid delays), or don't have enough ingredients, it's best to let everyone know you're withdrawing. If using the app, you can click the Withdraw button.
For more information, check out the Guide to Cake Parties.
My game crashes when i activate the map in the plots. Iām on nintendo switch. Anyone knows that itās a known issue?
I think that is a switch issue Iām on pc and it set happen to me
I'm on Switch 2 and I've never had that happen, but I remember Palia not running great on my OG Switch, though I've never crashed opening the map iirc
The trick I use on Switch is that I always restart the device before I load Palia. Otherwise I experience a lot of disconnections and crashes. Idk why. I play on Switch 2 but give that strategy a try?
hey all, I want to decorate my place, but that seems to be expensive... I'm not exactly a newbie anymore as I have most platinum tools, so I'm wondering... what's the fastest way to get money? glow worms?
Epic/legendary starred fish cooking parties (sashimi, sushi, pokebowl)
But if you want to play solo, jamming preserves, hunting can be good I think?
parties as in multiplayer? what about something i can do solo? my friends will be offline for a while
oh I see, jam. I thought glow worms would net a higher profit
For solo I'd say jamming preserves, it's more passive but it's not as fast. Glow worms net a high profit but the output has been greatly nerfed from what it used to be.
gotcha
And it still takes some time considering the processing, I used to put morels on glow worm bins, not sure if that's still any good though.
I've never made jam. how is it more passive than worms? does it take longer to produce?
#š±āgardening might have a table with the outputs and times, some crops are better to turn into seeds and sell iirc.
i make my money usually from my garden , gathering supplies for solo fish cooking partys and mining will net you some gold not as fast but its still good none the less.
Also ive soloed that game for so long its faster for me to do it then to play with strangers
I really like hunting, so I thought I would make that my primary money making active routine, while running a passive something in parallel, so I was in the process of figuring out the best passive money making strat
eh hunting isnt really profitable later game. Its perfect for beginnners trying to make a buck. Fishing, mining, cooking and gardening are the best money makers thats it
Sadly nothing is really as efficient time wise as cooking parties for profit, hunting can be decent from what I've heard but yeah, running a parallel money maker is the way to go in this case.
Such as jamming or the worms. If you were interested in the parties, you can check on #1445866314949202012 or #š¬ālfg-chat, you can try and find smaller parties.
I see, thanks for the info
Pretty sure worm bins can increase yield again on preserves (probably a table for that somewhere too)
hey all. i am a former palian who uninstalled the game after they added their version of a battle pass. iām wondering how people have felt about it now that its been out for a bit?
i donāt really like fomo stuff, except holiday events that are understandably seasonal and considered part of the game. iāve spent over $700 on palia cosmetics for me and my friends/family, but i couldnāt bring myself to buy another battle pass that i might not complete due time and already playing a few other games with battle passes.
i dunno. being an early access game and not having a completed story yet, it just bummed me out and im considering leaving the discord depending on feedback.
palia's battlepasses dont expire unlike other games, you can take your time on those
It doesn't expire, but it's also a bit uhhh...questionable as to whether the price is worth what you get for it
And the free path is an actual joke
yea that whole idea of every pass having different amounts of levels is interesting to say the least, idk any other game with a battlepass system like that
If anything, I'd say despite the battlepasses and stuff, the game feels slightly more FOMO in a way.
That being said, the battlepasses are pretty easy to finish? At least now that they include weeklies iirc, but I honestly don't think they offer a good value, paid or free.
But, it's a bit subjective I guess. Though I will die on the "firework recipes and tints should've been given for free and only cheapen the battlepass" hill.
thank you for sharing. it makes me feel a little bit better about it but still not great. iāll keep an eye out for when they progress the story or add a new zone because all my irl friends got bored and left⦠knowing i can come back in a few weeks or months and still grind out that estate house is good to know but doesnāt get me wanting to come back any sooner.
My recommendation would be to skip this patch tbh, because the current bundle board stuff is just, not great. It's not worth the trouble.
donāt get me started on the dyes⦠itās among some of my other complaints with that update that made the game feel more grindy and less fun/creative on the fly.
Is anyone else worried they wonāt get the snowy recipes in time to complete the bundle? I havenāt got either of them yet . . .
Something that really sucks about the current board is that players are not guaranteed to finish it. Like sure, it's optional but for many players it's a goal to work towards, if they can't, they might as well not log in.
I think a battlepass in Palia si fine, esp the concept. (But hey, i might be a little biased since it is close to my exact suggestion/concept that i've said multiple times here
)
However, I do think the way they executed it wasn't great. Specifically in regards to the pricing and the rewards/progression feeling for it. The free tracks are incredibly underwhelming and lack luster-- the first one having their "first free clothing" which was a tshirt with a PNG of a kitsuu on it (not even centered...)
And there's .. like imo, not much useful for the free track with the one going on now. Maybe the jukebox, I guess, but other than that... not really, esp since it doesn't even Feel like a "path of the cardigan" unless you pay.
It just doesn't seem balanced in that regard, at all.
I still can't fully get behind it being available for coins but not refunding the currency back. Like yeah, it makes it so you can purchase the ZLC and accumulate your coins but I still feel like a direct purchase would've been better.
And I honestly have feelings in regards to the game currently. Especially after this patch. The game has felt incredibly unrewarding, lacking accessibility features that are desperately needed (will talk more about this in a moment), unoptimized-- so I lag and stutter whether i open the friends list or run into kilima... a few things that I just haven't been okay with.
Wanting to mention the accessibility thing a bit further-- yes, they added a quick chat feature, yes I'm very happy they did that and I will say yippie!! that's good!! ... However, with how this patch has felt with what they did, still rubs me the wrong way.
Temple of Gales is one place that is inaccessible to a lot of players. And it still hasn't quite been worked on or resolved. And the reason this is an issue, is because that locks you behind MSQ. And it makes sense, that some things would be inaccessible with MSQ, completely fine, understandable...
But it upsets me, because the bulletin board has recipes this patch that require you to get to EW in regards to MSQ. and it just isn't possible. It's just something that upsets me. And then the other issues involving Fireworks and the UG. I know it's mentioned under known issues now-- but it wasn't when patch notes dropped immediately, and I doubt there's any warning still on the main menu or anything about this.
I still do like that I can run around with friends, though on it, if I ever have it installed again and play again. I do like that I can technically have help with bug hunting and hunting in general. Those things are nice and highlights for me. And I still do like to help people when I can at least.
Not to mention how much theyre leaning more into RNG, and honestly? Gacha-related mechanics. The RNG with the rummage piles (and linking it to the bulletin board), and genuinely and honestly, the Mystery Outfit gifting is a form of Gacha. Whether it's to give to friends, or people making new accounts to use for themselves.
And the only reason why I have a problem with that, is because I feel like it's.. not 'hidden', but ... not properly talked about? Especially considering you can't actually gift an outfit of your choosing to a friend, or even palia-coins. I just don't like how it's being labeled as all "Cosy" (and including during winterfest, having a sale of getting plushes if you gift to ppl...).
Just feels kinda weird to me.
(And again, yes, i like you can gift at all to friends in that way, but I still think the way it's done needs to be overhauled or worked on. Let people disable ppl gifting, let ppl reject, let people choose, etc. Just want that gacha-type feel to disappear, and to not have it forced on players.)
I fully agree. Especially considering the palia-coin packages doesn't evenly amount to the bpass cost.
I couldn't agree more. I have also been trying to gather my thoughts about this update cause it's all just been penting up frustration. I know a lot has been said these days, but a lot of the current content in this patch is what many of us were concerned about: increasing amounts of FOMO and RNG, while monetisation seems to be even more heavily pushed.
And again, we know all these things are optional. The bundles are optional, the cosmetics are optional, the battlepass is optional. But if you give players nothing to work towards, then logging in and playing also becomes optional.
There just doesn't seem to be a balance at all, and it's very disheartening because often times we were promised it would improve, yet it almost feels like it's getting worse.
Yeah, exactly. And I just want the game to be better!! This game will always have a special place in my heart. And like I said, I still very much like helping players when I can and answering questions-- even if that means me doing a google to make sure I remember something correctly
Same. I just want the game to do better for it's players, and something as simple as taking accountability for it, would go a long way. There needs to be better communication, it is kinda disappointing it's been almost a week and a half with little acknowledgement of the current issues.
My feelings exactly too. (Along with everything Valkorii said).
I think we've all seen a game whether if it's an MMO, a mobile game, etc that has gone in a direction like this or just shut down out of the blue and then poof it's gone. And it would be a shame if that happened to Palia. We just want it to last as long as possible. But oftentimes we get brushed off with criticism...among other things but.
(and in this context, I'm using 'we" in a general sense of wanting the game to be better and be here a long time).
Anyone out there, have you gotten all the snowy recipes yet from the Kilima piles?
I have one of them, but I'm still trying to get the other one...
"I love being nine days of rummage piles into a patch and still not having the recipes I need for the bundle board" said no one ever.
I'm still disappointed there's no official statement yet, when they know it's a time limited event.
I've gotten 2 out of 5 recipes - both for the board - and on one of those I used the full inventory trick (thankfully only took two servers)
tbh every time I look back I have no idea what kind of game Palia is even trying to be, cause it ain't the game it seemed to be aiming for when it started
This is something I've been wondering myself lately about this current bundle. Who is it aimed at? It's not aimed at casual players, it's not aimed at new players, it's only aimed at veteran players if they're assuming all of them have completed MSQ and gotten all the RNG recipes, but even then, the rewards from both the bundle and path are borderline useless for veteran players.
Like other than "plushie collecting simulator" I'm just so confused
It's a plush collector simulator atp.
jinx you owe me a coke---
may I offer a sprite cranberry?
....acceptable
Seriously though, it's not an MMO, it's not an RPG, not a life sim. It's a bit of everything with plushes thrown in.
On a typical day I would have clocked 10 or 11 hours of gameplay by now. I haven't logged in yet today and honestly, my heart really isn't in it. I haven't seen that our concerns or questions are being addressed and that's starting to bug me more than the recipe situation. 1. Will the recipe be available in the rummage plie after this patch. 2. If it is still available after this patch, will there be a way for players to get snowballs to craft the recipe outside of the Winter season?
Theory is they won't be, and considering most of us already were suspicious the recipes would require snowballs when the patch dropped, I'm inclined to believe this will be the case.
Also what's the status about fireworks in the underground.
Not intentional, I guess
Nothing from what I can tell.
I sincerely hope that's not the case. I love Palia but I'm getting exhausted. I can't recommend Palia to anyone right now, there have been a few missteps recently that have cemented that feeling for me. The recipe drop from a pile that requires a recipe drop from another pile is one of those missteps imho. They could have used furniture guild store medals for the player to acquire it. I mean Tish has only a small handful of guild items available and I already have more drafting tables, toolboxes, and wall plaques than I could ever need. Renown? Were they ever going to do something else with that or are they going to keep adding more currencies to the game - there is an entire screen of currencies now. Use what systems you already have before adding more to the game- it's messy and confusing to newer players. Do better please.
Same. I loved Palia, but I can't recommend the game as is. I still think somewhat fondly of it, it definitely has brought me joy and I made wonderful friends here, but it's also brought me great frustration and disappointment.
Same.
You said my thoughts exactly. Once upon a time Palia brought me so much joy and I have made friends in Palia who have changed my life. I am forever thankful for that. My frustrations are well known, so no need to elaborate again. Patch days are an even bigger mixed bag now- what's new? what broke? and what did they do that is going to make my game better or worse?
How to do this quest?
it's a discovery quest, you need to find something to start it...
Thanks!
Hunting solo is so hard when you have bad reaction time
Same for bug catching, I let a blue lunar moth get away bc i didn't bomb it fast enough and it flew too fast for me to catch
the ones in Kilma
slow down arrows followed by a fine or dispel arrow swap to finish is a good way to get around that. Buys you time.
Anyone else struggling to get the snowy recipes for the bulletin board? Iām worried I wonāt finish it all
Hop aboard the bus friend, we all are on it waiting for the driver to show up...
mhm i guess since I play with a controller swapping arrows is slower
I need to catch some fire breathing dragon flies to. Hodari's lvl 4 quest needs it along with Baddru's lvl 3 quest
<---- controller player too. X to to pull up ammo inventory have each type on a different row.
Yes
I tried hunting with controller and I hate it so much
I need to get Tamala lvl 3 so I can finish Caleri's lvl 3 quest
alternatively put 1 slow down arrow in slot 1 of your ammo pouch followed by your real ammo in slot 2. you'll auto switch to real after you shoot the slow down.
you can do that but if you miss the first shot... My set up keeps the same arrows feeding after the leftmost slot of that arrow type runs out.
I would rather risk missing the shot on one animal than have to mess with ammo swaps but that's my preference
am i the only one hella sad about losing my items' tints if i dont want to use it rn? because it sucks...
You aren't the only one
Nope, one of the most common complaints about the new tint system. I like the changes, but that definitely sucks.
agreed. releived im not alone
So I've looked all around this geyser. I can't find this dirt anywhere. Am I missing something?
so if you put the item in storage you lose the tint?
apparently..
Do fine arrows deal more damage than elderwood arrows?
Also zenduu way is blocked for everybody, right?
there's no way to unblock it at the moment?
just took a poll. Consensus was if you had the bag of illusions damage is that of a fine arrow (roughly).
ah
I need a celebration cake and donāt have a recipe for it, how do I find and join a cake party?
Iām new sorry lol
correct, closed to through traffic.
if you are attending a cake party, only the person starting the cake needs to have the recipe
no worries, we all were new once. The recipe can be purchased from the Cooking Guild Store upon reaching Cooking Cooking Level 9, for 3,000 Gold.
Thank you! Do I just find someone here on discord who can start one?
I will say that the new juke box plays a snazzy tune, from the battle pass thing
@unique roost paliaparty.app is another good place to look. Look for beginner friendly.
I wish we could trade furniture like we can with plushies.. Iām so tired of getting the same furniture from the lucky machine.. all I want is the lily valley sinkš©š© i just continue to get disappointed š„
I was hoping we would at least get good furniture from the lucky coin thing we got from the snowman challenge but nope ofc not I got a plushie one that I have PLENTY of bc it keeping giving it to me and a song bowl decor piece?? Like please Iām so over it
make that 3 - rngesus is apparently on my side
tangential re:what type of palia - i sorta wonder if witchspire (going ea this year) is going to take a chunk of players. Those who wanted some combat and some survival mechanics in their cute magical world fighting off the corruption, befriending animals, and building a home. If it does and if it's just the more mmorpg fans, I wonder if that could be good? for palia's direction? like they could align a bit more with whatever it was they intended to build with a little less pressure in the niche
once again thinking about the idea to be able to choose party type/skills you're open to when setting yourself to "looking for party"
oh found a hidden chamber today in the beachside cave with 1 stormseker and 1 flameseeker medal
yeet don't even need to look them up
Honestly, I think that might just result in the game only retaining players who are just happy with the current way things are, and that in business can be either pretty good, or really reduce customer base or even stunt growth.
In the end it might just cause more alienation. So if it'd be good for the game's direction or not, it's kinda hard to tell.
That's just how I view it though, but I think earlier players can agree that the game now does not feel like what was promised, and that's already taken its toll on many.
I just looked witchspire up, and it looks so similar to palia, but obvi with the different mechanics you said. Its gonna be really interesting to see how the two games coexist
*randomuhammad
that's the one i want for finishing the bundles.. doubt i will get it since its such a patheticly complicated system with terrible chances to get it.
Yeah I still need the pavilion. No luck, three days in a row of just one corn
The rummage pile is the only way to get it? That's hard when you can't play every day...
Does anyone know if and where we can see our progress with the starstone quest?
The devs will notify us here on the discord server, when a new milestone has been reached. I think that's the only way we'll know :)

Snowy Parasol
- Recipe: Kilima Rummage Piles/Kilima Coin Rummaged Goodies Bag
- Must know Summer Stripe Umbrella Recipe - Obtained via Bahari Rummage Piles
Snowy Pavillion
- Recipe: Kilima Rummage Piles/Kilima Coin Rummaged Goodies Bag
- Must know Cozy Camp Canopy Recipe - Obtained via Inspiration from crafting other Cozy Camp items for the first time (requires Cozy Camp Starter Pack available at Subira's Goods in Elderwood)
Snowy Lawn #1, #2, & #3

The Snowy Lawn 1 recipe is bugged. The recipe makes the number 2 only. I sent a ticket but no response š¤·š»āāļø
Is it? I have all three snowy lawn recipes and theyāre all different when I craft them
Have you put them both out next to each other? Sometimes the item names are bugged but the items are still different. I had this happen with the flowering purple bush, it is named pink when placed but the flowers are still purple.
Anyone doing a cooking party anytime soon that I can join in on
So I've only been playing for about 2 weeks. I finally picked it up because I was sick and none of my usual games were doing it for me. I really like the game, but it has a few glaring issues that if they stand out to newbies, they must stand out even more to veterans. I agree with the sentiment that the game doesn't seem to have a clear sense of identity, or what it wants to be, nor does it seem to have a cohesive gameplan for how to get there. This results in a really obvious dissonance between the clear potential of the game, and the reality of it which is that there are a lot of half baked systems that seem to be gathering dust, currency creep without a good cohesive understanding of how to use what's already there, a lack of commitment to the stability of the game in terms of bugs and performance, and a heavily weighted emphasis on cosmetics sales as opposed to genuine game improvements.
There just doesnt seem to be a lot of future thinking involved in what the game is throwing at players. Do they have a road map? Like a real one with real goals? Either the game is in beta and being worked on meaningfully, as in, the actual inner workings of the game and its systems, or it's in "beta" and it's just kind of on life support without a lot of focused consideration for the future.
Still no snowy furniture recipes from the rummage pile, wacky fun times /s
Bad RNG increases active player count!! (Until those players quit)
First off, I hope you're feeling better!
And I agree with everything you said here. We've been dealing with many of these issues for a long time now, some concerns even go back to alpha days (I wasn't an alpha player, but based on some alpha testers accounts, that's the case). Like you said and how it's felt is that there is a really big gap on how players perceive the game, vs how devs do. And that's understandable, to a degree, but I think it's been shown very clearly in this patch.
The mixed messaging between "don't hoard but expect to hoard these items that require materials that won't be available", the inaccessibility of the current bundle, it's not designed in a way to engage players but rather burn them out. And like you said, there is that perception that there's a greater focus or push for cosmetics, which are almost treated as content.
Players asked for a roadmap for ages, we were given one before EW iirc, but it's very vague in terms of timelines and content. And I also understand they're trying to manage expectations and whatnot but truth is by doing this they're making the future of the game rather confusing.
Nowadays it seems like the most you can look forward to in the game is when a new plush is going to drop.
Yeah it def feels like a way to pump those player counts
Every day I fail to get a recipe that I need to complete limited-time content is a day closer to me finding a different game to play because this is nonsense.
It's funny because I originally started playing Palia to take a break from Old School Runescape, and take a break from grinding skills. But here we are
I've been dreading logging on and haven't done so in a week. There's nothing pulling me in to do so, even if I like those floorings.
It's currently a chore. Log in, check the garden, get the rummage pile, log out frustrated.
You mean log in, and hop servers for 10 times if you're lucky to get the recipe
.
And I know people say "it's optional!". That does not give me any incentives to keep playing lol
lolno my time is better spent elsewhere than trying to game the system for an hour for no reward. Palia gets the 15 minutes a day to do garden and 1 rummage pile collect and that's it until either things get better or I give up.
I'd rather stick my head in ranked League matches ngl
and that's saying a lot
New players also dont even have access to weeklies, let alone the stuff needed for the bundle, so it's not even worth attempting. I do dailies. I dont think I'll get the floor and walls lol which is a shame but I'm not going to waste my time trying to outsmart the RNG or grind skills in a way that isn't fun. I only have about 3 hours a day for free time not on weekends, it isnt worth it.
Someone did the maths, and it'd take 10 days to complete the treasure track without doing the bundles and just doing other activities. It's still putting a time crunch on players.
Even if the boards were meant for older players, it still is not really balanced.
Pro dev tip: that's not a real roadmap. A roadmap is a list of items on the development radar with at least an estimate of what quarter or year it may get addressed. Palia Path is a commercial.
Specially for what's considered to be a filler patch, the bundle board feels like a way to increase player engagement because there isn't much content outside of that. And that'd be fine if it only was balanced.
I feel it's a bit silly to require decor items that I haven't gotten out of the rummage piles yet, but still give me CORN in said rummage piles!
Who the game thinks you are:
It has the juice
Please let me know if another channel is more appropriate ā also Iām not looking to create a debate - simply looking for different perspectives for gathering etiquette.
I plan on harvesting flow trees with a couple of friends this weekend - and am wondering if it makes sense to call out any trees we find (would 100% call out and wait for grove) or if there already being 3 of us makes more sense to just harvest the trees as we find them? My experience has been there is less urgency given to them than things like silver/gold/platinum.
While I may w feel keen on waiting for folks to show up for each tree - if the general sense is calling them out as a standard practice, then I will! Want to respect both my time and others ā¤ļø
I'd go with just calling out groves not individuals. If you're up for people joining you you can also drop a note that you're farming flow trees - it can be a lot of fun to do a little group deforestation.
Honestly with stand alone flow trees, if I can chop them solo, I will, if I'm with a friend and we can chop them together, we will. If I see someone nearby, I'll ask them if they want to but I don't prioritise calling those out.
After all, calling out resources is just a courtesy, but that's my opinion.
If I see someone's waiting, I'll tap and wait too or tap and move along then come back for the loot
if u are planning to deforest the north side of bahari to make flowtrees spawn I would not wait at all, could maybe announce in server chat that y'all are deforesting so others can join
good old days before groves existed
(was way cozier than the grove wars lol)
Ah yes, deforesting near the lighthouse was fun.
oh yeah lighthouse was a good spot as well
Yup it was fun when De-flow-estation parties used to be a whole thing
The one wrinkle was everyone needing to tap every flow tree cuz party loot wasn't a thing yet
Just chop them. Calling stuff out is a courtesy not a rule. Not worth waiting around for someone to cross all of Bahari for 1 tree they didnt find or know about. If I can call stuff I do. But sometimes especially if I am playing on console I dont.
There will always be more. The game isnt a stand around and wait simulator, yes it can be a kindness to call rare resources if you can but definitely should be considered a courteous thing to do rather than you MUST do it and if you dont you're a bad player/not community minded. Come on now!
Specially when it's literally renewable digital resources
they'll spawn back again
a single flow tree I only call out when I can't chop it on my own
They seem to do the paths quarterly. We should be getting another one in March
I really appreciate everyone offering perspective here! I really value the kindness within the community, and certainly wish to contribute to its longevity -- and I tend to agree that courtesy does not mean mandatory -- I like to call out resources in general, especially those where I still get to move along with doing whatever it is I'm doing. Thanks everyone! ā¤ļø
the summer stripes umbrella that is the basis for the snowy one is found in bahari at least
the base recipe for the umbrella is the bahari pile (which you have to obtain first) and the snowy version is from the kilima pile
Do you mean the patch notes page? Nothing there is incorrect it just doesn't have the base recipe location mentioned, just that you need it.
The snowy recipes are only found in the Kilima Rummage Piles. That is correct.
The base recipe for the Snowy Parasol -- Summer Stripe Umbrella -- is a recipe gotten from the Bahari Bay Rummage piles. The Summer Stripe Umbrella is required to be had by the player in order to get the Snowy Parasol recipe in the Kilima Rummage Pile. The Summer Stripe Umbrella is the furniture item that is crafted by the player to create the Snowy Parasol (the Snowy recipe simply adds snowballs -- so it combines the crafted Umbrella with the Snowballs)
If a player did not previously have the Summer Stripe Umbrella recipe, they would also have to loot the Bahari Bay Rummage Pile to get this Umbrella recipe, and then would be able to get the Snowy Parasol recipe in Kilima.

There is no long term map/timeline/graphic w/ real or relative timings & no bug/issue board
funny to look back and see it took 2 years from "sitting coming soon" to it actually being in game - hence the
emoji
I have a few hundred flow trees on my deed. I sometimes put 20 on an unused deed and call out for people to come chop.
Will it be possible to collect the summer stripe umbrella and the snow umbrella before the bundle board ends? Its the last thing I need to complete the board but I haven't got the recipe yet for the summer stripe umbrella. Im scared I won't be able to finish it.
The answer is unfortunately a big maybe. Chances go up if you do the full inv/server hop trick but that is tedious. It's all luck though. I got the summer stripe this morning so here's hoping š need the other two still.
How do I server hop? Im on a switch.
How do I server hop? Im on a switch.
You need friends online and on the same map as you, then you can switch to their server, it's next to their name in the friends list
Oh ok
If you don't have friends online, just go to a different area (so switching between underground, your home, Bahari, the Elderwood) and return. Takes longer though.
That works?
summer: boards are for everyone, but you may have to work together on some skills
winter: board is for people who are at least in the elderwood for the main story quest and who are lucky
Should work, yes.
there's a chance you get put back on the same server, but you just keep going back and forth
Wow I thought i would just find myself in the same servers. Interesting. Thank you!!
I appreciate the help everyone!
Is it just me, but anyone else find Tau doesn't spawn? He shows up on the map but in the actual game world, he isn't there. This is in Bahari Bay and I've tested it a lot.
Maybe it's related to one of your current quests? (Like Auni and Nai'o disappearing during the Prismbeard stuff.) Could be a bug for sure, tho
Thanks. I'll have to look into it and go from there.
Iām wondering if anyone can help me figure out why I canāt see or use my glider after finishing like a bird
If your backpack was full when you completed the quest, the glider went to your storage chests. Look there, doing a search for "glider," if necessary. The icon resembles a catfish.
@bleak jay I've noticed that too, the map will show Tau, but he is not visible in game. I haven't noticed it lately, but then I've maxed that friendship now and have stopped looking for him.
Thanks for confirming that. Guess I might have to file a bug report? š¤·

When I go to craft them, it only lets me choose one. The same one. Is this only happening to me? And they're not responding to my ticketā¦
I donāt understand what you mean. I can see youāve already crafted snowy lawn #2, and you canāt craft snowy lawn #1 because you donāt have the materials. You need to go buy another terrace at city hall first.
Is a bug yes. Look. I need the medium land to craft the big one. I did it and worked.
That is not a bug, that'd just how the recipes work. Snowy lawn #1 and #2 require the yardwork medium terrace, snowy lawn #3 requires the small terrace, and they all require a different amount of snowballs
well it is technically considered a bug, but it only benefits players atm
it will eventually be fixed
Oh, really? Apologies, then. Figured that was just how the recipes work as they all look different when crafted
Is this... an exploit? /j
Obviously joking but still funny
Im so happy!!! I was able to get the new flooring from the bundle board without having to rely on finding the summer stripe umbrella and the snow umbrella recipies!! All I had to do was get enough xp from other activities! I'll still be looking for the recipies from the loot piles cause I want it for decoration, but I don't have to rush!

Yay! Congrats! The new flooring is awesome isn't. I love the eclectic one
I know! Im using it for my trophy room! Its so pretty š
If you call it an exploit they'll patch it immediately š
Hey, theres an uhhhh exploit where I cant paint the outside of my house hallways. It's sooooo cool I can have the different not matching paint colors, I love it. Sure hope they DONT fix this EXPLOIT š
How you see Palia in the next months or years guys?
Man that's a loaded question.
Personally, I don't see much changing but I'd like to be proven wrong. Certainly expecting there will be even more plush galore.
Re: loaded question -- was just typing the same thing
Iam seeing less content creator playing Palia, not to be pessimistic but Iam kinda sad about it
I hope also they make mind-boggling changes next updates
I would absolutely not expect "mind-boggling changes." People expecting that and then being disappointed is probably why player numbers drop.
I think they just very much stick to their niche, this game doesn't have grand advertising or massive campaigns like other games, imo. That being said, I also don't follow many Palia creators.
So what do you think they need to do? to make people feel invested?
Again, loaded question. You can scroll back in this channel for years and see the feedback and suggestions that have been made. At least player numbers are still better than they were pre-Elderwood.
Hard to say honestly. Some people (not targeting anyone here btw) are content the way things are. Considering the upset some of the recent changes they introduced upset a lot of people, I don't know what to expect. It's just that one way or the other, they always seem to fall short off expectations or implement new systems which seem to have not a lot of thought put into in certain mechanics (ie, the bundles and paths).
Actually agree because Ive seen a lot of content when I search Palia on Youtube, its almost all years ago
Iam kinda happy with the game, but it getting boresom in some point Iam thinking of what will I do, so I ask that questions though, thanks for the discussions!
Iam thinking also if what should I need to feel "invested" on the game, 'cause if there is a good reason, Iam willing to spend more to support Palia
That's very valid
I think that's just the issue many of us sort of have, there's nothing really pulling us in to continue or come back.
I'll get excited when I can turn off fireworks/vfx.
Their current philosophy seems centred on introducing as many streams of revenue as they possibly can, which isn't surprising considering they're owned by daybreak now. So I expect more and more paid content, new and old. It's the one thing we can count on.
That and plushies, always guaranteed.
Has there been any talks of the servers lately? Since Paliaparty makes it so easy to party up, discussions of asking other players to server hop have been rampant. One camp thinks it's no big deal to ask a player to server hop, it costs less than a minute of your time to help out 25 people. The other camp is saying "You don't have to server hop or do what anyone asks." and while sure they're right, I'm just kinda baffled at the "asking me to be courteous of others is selfish of you" attitude. And I just wish there were a better way to host a party.
My 2 cents are, you're not obliged to server hop if someone asks you, even less so if they're being rude about it. It's one of those things were a game design choice sadly brought on a lot of unexpected toxicity :/
Like, I understand the struggle for cooking parties. If they're asking nicely, I'll hop out. Back when I did cake parties, usually the host would just jump to a different server and everyone would try to join in again.
I just wonder how server merges are going to affect long term parties, like those that might take 1+ hours.
Probably nothing that most people would consider mind boggling ant time soon because they've told about a few (the rest of the elderwood, housing together, camera overhaul, ulfe friendship, iterating on all the newer items, in game comms and event trackers, new map) so its all now expected/anticipated rather than having surprise/delight on its side and the biggest anticipated known change (new map) is probably no earlier than summer 2026. Also, we know lore wise that there is a magic system that we're allowed to use so most are expecting that as a skill - it be shocking if it wasn't.
Honestly wish they would somehow implement private servers then this whole server hopping or server takeover just wouldn't be a thing.
Cause like you said, people aren't obligated to switch servers, but people should ask nicely, etc.
Meanwhile those are likely the same people who get upset if someone doesn't thank them for filling requests
(again, talking generally here)
Toxicity being able to worm it's way into everything and anything.
I know the community wasn't ever exactly sunshine and rainbows, but I feel like it took a sharp downturn when groves were implemented and everyone got all "this is the etiquette and and if you don't follow it, a thousand curses upon your household"
it'd be a neat feature for communities to have - it wouldn't be quite what people want but it'd mesh well
Another day...still no Snowy Pavillion. I don't think I'm gonna get the recipe, at this point.
Hopefully, make the cooking minigames optional. Thank goodness you can turn off the "cinematic view" for now
Yeah and like, that comes with every community, some are worse than others. But for a game that's meant to be primarily about community (or at least was advertised as such)...
Borderline false advertising. Game about community, yet community feature barely exists and servers limited to 25 people. Yay.
Imagine how much more chaotic grove would be if we had massive servers like in OSRS....
Yeah, it'd be pretty hideous. I still am not a fan of the grove. I felt like flow tree farming was actually more of a community activity. I haven't really interacted with other random players since the grove was implemented and people stopped needing to farm for flow trees.
based on average days between patches you still have about 19 chances if you log in every day (this is not certain it could be anywhere between 12 and 39 days) - still this is rough
I don't dislike the concept of the groves but it's very clear it sort of backfired. At least we can farm those in our plots now (unless you haven't finished MSQ I guess, can't remember if that was a requirement).
temple of the roots plus a couple more quests, you don't have to be all the way caught up
Even a week into the game (shortly after open beta) I was actively avoiding random players cause I was scared of getting yelled at after I saw honey lure arguments even way back then
Yeah, I play solo but mostly avoid people except for blooms lol. It's not worth having to deal with people being toxic.
Like if I wanna deal with that then I'd be doing raids in ESO or score pushing
Saame if I wanna deal with that, I'll hop on League
at least I can / muteall and not deal with it that way
You are not alone friend, so many of us still haven't even with server hopping. Sure put a damper on this update š«
the water is "recovering"/emptying like with flow trees too, so if you have to refill party way through watering a plant you'll start over on it
Not to mention all the weeds that keep coming back, and why are there 2 on all of them.
Makes things even more time consuming solo.
Yeah, I've done some blooms by myself.
(Just read your message above me. It does suck when you don't have a lot of free time, doing a bloom by yourself is really time consuming).
I haven't encountered anymore recently where no one would help out since the sprout dropped. But before was awful to find any help.
The most disheartening thing about the piksii bounce for me, is that loot isn't shared with your party
that's a choice that still bewilders me a bit
And no seeds once watered for many of the flowers and bushes/trees we have been getting recently either, which requires going back many times.
Catching up on chat post nap
Its good for the sake of my account status that I haven't been active during any "server party" instances because I would have Words with someone who told me I needed to server hop
We stay petty
/j
Like go yell at S6 like we've been, plenty of room aboard the train /lh
All of these things add up time wise which keeps us from being able to do things we really enjoy in the game.
I remember when people were trying to do server takeovers during the Fire Temple Raidings
fun sight to behold
Was fire temple before or after wind.... I can't remember said raiding
Fire temple was before but I was talking about the Ruby Glitches were multiple people would be entering and exiting the Fire Temple
This update I have spent most of my time hopping servers to try to get the recipes required for the board, or hopping servers to try and get the sprout plush. In between all u really have time to do is unload, garden, check on animals etc then it's rinse and repeat again. Not much time to even mine for the event that's going on, let alone anything you would prefer to be doing.
This. Like I'm just not gonna answer
I'll change servers when I need to go back to my homeplot cause my inventory is full.
I honestly haven't even bothered to and atp I don't know if I want to
I logged in today after a week (since I was hoping and waiting for them to release a statement), finished almost all the bundles, but just the fishing alone tired me out.
The Path doesn't motivate me because the rewards are lacking, I dread doing the inventory trick and I don't care for the plushes
There's nothing rewarding for me this patch or making me want to log in. I would've participated in the mining event if I wasn't already burnt out.
Yes those too, dailies and the path. All time consuming. We now have to have a fixed schedule to get all of these things accomplished, and some are a nightmare like the pile drop recipes this go round.
That you need to hop servers and use an exploit to try to get the recipes you need this month is wiiiiiiiild like?? if I was a dev I'd be looking at that and going "hm maybe something is off"
I know the Paths were designed to reduce FOMO but honestly, this game feels even more FOMO. But that might just be me.
If you need to actively exploit a system to get a timed event done then there are massive issues at hand
Each day is a long to do list atm rather than playing the game at a casual cozy pace.
And it's really discouraging when we can't obtain an item due to rng.
Reminds me of, Forsetti was around in palgen yesterday asking about this and someone mentioned the game feeling more like a gacha.
#š¬āpalia-general message in case anyone was interested, here's what he replied to me.
Stuff I wanna say but Einar is looking at my fishing level like
I was happy to see Forsetti answer my question. I was almost hesitant to send it because we haven't heard much from the s6 team in awhile. Felt like how it used to be in the earlier Palia days on here so I appreciated them taking time out of their day to talk with us
Einar be like:
/j
Yeah, I am thankful he took the time to answer some questions, specially yours! I wanted to add onto it as well cause it definitely has been a common feeling. Just wish some of the comments could be pinned though.
Yes, and agreed
Prize wheel in the UG is another one yall can add to that list
I did tell him about the prize wheel lol. Anything with the Zeki lucky coins in general
Ahh okay nice, I just read PalCat's reply
I can't remember if I had mentioned those ngl
I did miss some other stuff there and didn't include all cause I didn't want to clog up the chat
Right now palias kinda sorta bandaid for not having a pity system is more rng - skill mystery bags from subiras elderwood store; pile mystery bags and makeshift chests in the Kilima catalog; super lucky prizes (so we dont get a single piece of wheat for event rewards)
Oh and the potions in the kilima catalog that as rewards getting mixed reports of them making any difference
Day ??, still can't complete the furniture bundle because of lolRNG.
FFXIV's mount drop rate is not great as well but you get tokens from each fight, and like next patch you can trade those tokens in for a mount if you have enough
Also not having a specific rare mount won't stop you from doing content in FFXIV.
except looking bomb (god I want the wing mounts but I am such a scrub I cannot do EX)
OSRS is also droprate nightmare with those random pets that drop from skilling or waiting for a rare item to drop that could be worth 1B gold but at the same time it's also, less punishing? Idk, OSRS is a grind fest don't get me wrong but it feels more rewarding.
I am late but personally, I dont think it's acceptable to ask people to server hop. I do think it's rude. Youre asking a stranger to basically stop what theyre doing and leave what theyre doing so that a bunch of people they dont know can take over. How is that not ridiculous?
For cooking parties, I can more or less get it. But for server takeovers for plushes/bugs, sorry bud. I suddenly need to mine every stone node /hj
Though I will say the atma drop rate for the second to last step of the latest relic weapon was something
(but not to yap too much about ffxiv before I get nudged LOL)
It's fine Rel, we won't tell Einar
I dont use it so my understanding might be off, but my impression is that party website basically let's people "host" events and people can sign up. But it's a third party thing, not a game supported thing. So idk, trying to tell people to leave so that you can host or join an unofficial party in a game is just wild to me. I understand the benefit of doing it but the fact that the expectation is that people hop to facilitate that when they arent participants is crazy to me.
because I can easily find a signpost in a a few minutes on my way to help 25 other people out. shrug. It's not that serious to be asked a favor.
"I cant join my unofficial cake party because someone else has the audacity to exist in the game, and they are the inconsiderate one for not leaving" is certainly one of the takes of all time. Obviously agree to disagree but I'll leave the area im in on my own time.
Honestly it's why I wouldn't even answer.
I'm playing the game how I want to play it. I'll move servers when my inventory is full and I need to go back to my housing plot.
Like, if I want toxicity or for people to bug me I'll go play ESO or WOW or something.
Like yeah is it sometimes nice to do someone a favor if I was about to leave anyway, sure. Otherwise. Nah.
Also friendly reminder that the block button is self care.
I see it as a courtesy and kindness to 25 other people and it takes me no time to do it. shrug. Lotta backlash for asking for cooperation in a crappy server situation
Well, the thing is,the site is used for organisation purposes only. It's not so much that events are "unofficial"? I'm a bit confused here so I'm trying to explain it from my view. The problem comes from just, the server's limitations. Cooking parties are often large, specially for some recipes, so sometimes many of the participants are unable to join in.
But from my perspective, this is a game design flaw. If someone is being rude or entitled, I'm not going to accommodate for them.
Agreed it's a design flaw.
Exactly how I feel.
I wish the game had private servers then this wouldn't be a thing.
then people could have big cooking parties and so on and so forth.
That's my view though, I certainly get the annoyance too, but I've also been in cooking parties where hosts would ask people to hop, kindly, if they weren't busy doing anything, else the host would hop servers and everyone would try to rejoin.
Someone's house plot should be its own instance. Idk if that's even possible. But then people could go to them and it wouldn't be a problem. Wouldn't solve server takeovers for hunting and fishing but maybe letting people meet in an instanced hub "someone's house" and then plop them in an empty server could help? Again, idk if it's even possible.
I just don't quite get the use of the term "unofficial", because the game itself doesn't have "official" parties, so I don't know how to answer to that.
I'm simply going to give back people the same energy they're giving.
I meant that the party website is not sanctioned by the game itself. So organizing something there or joining shouldnt constitute a guarantee.
I've heard there's formal and informal parties but I've never done a cooking party before.
And that's fair. I actually probably would totally leave if someone asked nicely. But I dont like the idea that the expectation is for the innocent bystander minding their business to be inconvenienced to facilitate other people's stuff they have nothing to do with. That's all.
I still don't really know how to comment on that since I just simply think the whole community and party system in games is just borked in general. If players don't have ways to organise these sort of things in game, that's the result in my opinion.
But yeah people expecting you to hop simply cause, I agree. It's just entitlement.
There's nothing wrong with asking either. I don't understand the view that it's "entitlement" to ask if you'd be okay with taking the time to help other people but
This.
It's not entitlement to ask, it's entitlement to expect the answer to be yes.
Playing devils advocate here as Iām a fairly newbie but itās not hard to server hop is it?
We're not saying it's wrong to ask, it's when it's accompanied by entitlement. I said my opinion before, if someone asks nicely, yeah I'll hop. But when people are expecting you to and start harrassing you about it, that's a nope from me. (I'm speaking for myself at least).
I feel like the game's idea of community implementation is really at odds with itself, honestly. It's a game issue. But the idea of telling someone something akin to "I'm trying to have community but not with you, you need to leave" feels bad.
It's not but it's rather the way some people go about it. That's what we're getting at here.
It's more like others expecting you to hop because they asked and then borderline harassing you when you don't (because you're busy doing something orrr you just don't want to, etc).
Sorry, I just read up. I agree with what youāre saying š¤
Ack I'm slow at typing š©.
No, but also people have varying stability in internet. If I got into an area and was having good luck and my connection was really stable and nothing was buggy, hopping can be a gamble. Not usually actually for me, I have gigabit fiber, but for some. It's a consideration.
Iām lucky enough that Iāve not experienced any negative stuff so far. Iām sorrryyy I defo shouldnāt have made that comment please excuse me lol!!! Noob here!!
Me. Wishing fiber would come to my area š©.
No worries! It's def a contentious subject in the game but in my belief it's stuff that really is a result of poor game design choices. And that's just sad cause, it's supposed to be a game for fun, not for tearing each other down.
Everyone is welcome to have and share their opinion!!
Oh don't worry about that. Over here we give everyone a fair shake even if we disagree and so on and so forth.
We dont have to agree. People are not a monolith. I see and understand what the people that see it differently than me are saying. I respect them and their opinion. Just because we view this differently doesnt make one of us bad and one of us good. It just means we think differently.
Youāre right. And I really donāt understand why some are so precious in a game that has unlimited resources. Like I said so far Iāve been so lucky with interactions with other players being amazing!
Oh and I just love how you guys are all so nice here too š š¤
I think especially when it's clear this is a game implementation issue. Both sides can absolutely be accommodated, they just arent at the moment which causes disagreement of opinion and unfortunately sometimes tension. Which is regrettable.
I agree, I've definitely had some very nice interactions in the game too, and sadly every community is just bound to have a degree of issues cause, but in cases like this it's kinda painful cause the root comes from the game itself, so it's a bit of a loop
Like the honey lure discourse.
Someone mentioned it earlier, but private servers would be a big win for those needing it
Yeah, there's a lot of arguments about "etiquette" too (lures, etc) which is also regrettable.
Personally I value my own convenience more. This may be seen as selfish. Im not arguing that it isnt. But I do value my own convenience more than a stranger's request to stop what I am doing when I am existing in a game during my limited free time as a working adult. They may see me, not being willing to accommodate their request, as disrespecting their limited time trying to play with friends. That doesn't make anyone wrong or right. It's just an incompatibility in what we value and what we are trying to accomplish.
I say as a person that will ask people to stop chopping at the grove lol
Dude I wrote unlimited free time on accident and god i wish
I mean as someone who lives in a more "community" oriented society, I agree.
I was about to say yo what job do you have.
Management, probably
(I'm 100% joking here)
But same, I wish
The mythical Dolly Parton 9-5 hahaha
This is a long play game. No real quick wins or completion. So, for me, if someone chops a flow tree down and I miss it⦠ah well, another will come.
Same with all other resources.
I'm a weirdo who loves to grind, I'll just grind medallions to not deal with it.
(Iām only 3 weeks into playing and realised Iām not finishing quests in 10 mins - itās a grind, and I love that!)
Prisimbeard quests- bane of my existence hahaha
I'm team don't cause a fuss. Asked to leave? Sure! I am not more important than 25 other people, I'll find a signpost soon for them when I can. Even if a 13 year old was rude about it lmfao. Missed a grove? It's literally fine. Lost my spot in a party? I'll find another. etc
Took me so long to find Auni and Nai'o (?).
One time I looked for like 30 mins before I realized I had walked right by them
Be oblivious and not read the chat š
I think we arent necessarily opposed in our thinking, but people not being willing to leave doesnt mean they think they are more important than 25 other people. Why are 25 randoms more important than me? I dont think quantity matters here, I think it's about a mutually respectful interaction with a focus on accepting that people are individuals in a community oriented place with few actual tools for that.
Being asked to server hop on home plot for someone's cooking party is a lot less inconvenient than being asked to hop out of Bahari because someone has an RTB party or something. Every loading screen in this game has a potential to be a landmine, so while I try to be nice when I can, I'm not always going to let people have their way.
Late response, but i suggested something similar to this yesterday when Forestti was in chat. Something about 'plush scraps' that could be dropped, that you can hold onto and exchange for a plush of your choice. (some worth more than others, etc). That way ppl can see the progress with RNG and stuff with that.
Tbh my chat in game is temperamental so half the time I donāt even see what others are saying unless I open the chat bar
Orii š©· Seems the underground issue is finally getting a fix. Though it still wouldve been nice it had been properly mentioned in patch notes.
You're probably safer that way.
Yep yep. This is something we also try to bring up to people who end up getting frustrated at players. The chat can be broken sometimes, some ppl play with chat off (like myself), or some just vibe and dont pay attention
Yeah chat is, not great all the time. Even harder to communicate on console.
š Hello! And I saw! I'm hoping the fix is "you just cant use fireworks or honey lures in the UG."
I definitely think that the devs should introduce private servers. This will irradicate this whooole server full issue
Perfect for those doing hunting cooking mining parties whatever
I'm also hoping they get disabled honestly. Though that VFX toggle would still be much appreciated.
Yeah, when the servers merge I'm taking a long break from the game.
I already know it's not gonna be great for "cozy community."
Yeah, I'm hoping for "you just can't use fireworks at all, ever, anywhere"
Private servers would be nice, or being able to choose what server you go to, perhaps? I say this, bc it might require them to actually have more servers to be able to make 'private' ones. So I'm not sure how feasible that is
If I get any more fireworks from the underground Iām gunna attach them to my avatar and launch myself into a cliff
Wish I could do this whenever I crash out in game.
Like in Club Penguin/OSRS, yes. That'd be nice.
I swear, itās ridiculous. Maybe I should host a firework party at my crappy noob plot š¤£š¤£
I quit playing hotpot because the wheel was so full of fireworks.
Yeah! Something. I'm just not sure how Palia could make it work, because with them wanting to add the server-merge stuff... I feel like it makes it even more tricky, idk.
But with the server-merge, i wish there was a way to see a timer of when it might end or close-- at least if it's going to be close to ending, so people can plan ahead
I sadly don't think they'd do this considering people enjoy them. But a toggle would be nice to accomodate the people who don't want to use/hear them.
Cause the game really has an unnecessary amount of flashes as it is
Orii hiiii <3
okay catching up again and like
I would still probably not leave the server if people were telling me to unless I was in a reeeeeeal good mood because frankly, they can get mad at S6, not me, and I think S6 should be getting more pushback from people who otherwise keep defending them
it's a S6 problem not mine y'know?
We kept being told to send feedback when we complain, they can go to the feedback form too
Oh I've managed to avoid the times they implemented that and it sounds horrible
My thoughts exactly honestly.
Can we not apply wallpaper to the estate grand staircase?
From what I saw ppl mention in discord, yeah... yeah. I really hope they can figure out how to get it to work properly. With a way to see if it's close to ending (preferably with a timer of some kind), and changing the keybind with "pick up" and "Changing servers"
And, since we can't choose what servers we go to, so even if I did leave, I could just land right onto another server with a party in it...
On my home plot, sometimes I don't mind changing servers. Chances are, I was going to leave anyways. But if it's Bahari or elsewhere, nah... because I'm already doing something.
But then again, I usually play with chat off, so I wouldn't know anyways tbh
True, I hadn't considered that. It'd be real unlucky though
At that point I'd just close the game myself.
I've gotttaaa be the one person to push back on the "don't ask me to help anyone ever" mindset ... it takes 30sec to be kind but that's your right I guess
Not to mention, sometimes you end up on the same server. Esp if you happen to be friends with one of the people in the party
I wondered about this, isnt it possible that even if someone left the other person couldnt get in anyway? With people constantly coming and going. And then you're stuck in a loop of asking people to leave when you could just start hopping yourself.
I think we're going in circles here, we're not saying this /gen
My loading screens are crazy long. it's not 30 seconds.
That isn't really what people are saying. People are moreso commenting on how rude people can be in regards to asking folks to leave (specifically, if someone is busy and can't leave at that moment). Because some people are rude in those instances.
Okay but it might not take 30 seconds. What if someone disconnects and then has trouble reconnecting?
I haven't been asked to leave, though chat is often glitchy so I might have been asked and just didn't know it.
I mean, I'm pretty sure I never said "don't ask me to help anything ever", I said that in this particular situation it's an S6 issue that they should be contacting S6 about and not expecting me to work around them. If they feel so strongly, again, feedback form
Nah I'm addressing the people literally saying "I dont care to help people for purely seflish reasons" lmfao.
Like, if I can help people, I will. But if they're expecting me to help simply cause, and be rude about it, they got another think coming. Some people who ask stuff like that usually also get upset when you don't thank back for filling requests (not targeting people here, just that there's a lot of entitlement).
Im also so glad to help. I fulfill requests. I answer questions in chat. I call out stuff when I can. What I am not willing to do is let people bully me out of an in game area I have every right to be in.
That should not come with a grand moral judgment.
I don't think anyone really said this though, we're all saying we can have different opinions but not going to accomodate to entitlement.
And specifically with Bahari like I metnioned, I wouldn't leave because I'm usually busy. And if I leave, I will straight up forget what I was doing and get side-tracked. I also dont' like going on a lot of loading screens, because sometimes it takes a while.
I do help with lots of requests in game, so it isn't like I'm anti-people, even though I do play alone 90% of the time. I'm just not sure the risk of server hopping is worth the reward. Or that it comes with the implicit idea that my time isn't worth as much, so I should spend it on loading screens.
I almost made another FFXIV comparison but I think I'm out of FFXIV references allotted for the day LOL
This is something I was thinking about yesterday after an unfortunate interaction and, thing is, it makes me kinda sad that we're having these sorts of arguments in this game. Like, it's just a game, some people are only able to log in after work to relax or something, but situations like these seem to occur almost daily.
Don't love the notion that if you won't help someone for some reason every time you're asked, you're being selfish. Let's not go there please.
Yeah if it took me 10 minutes to find where I was trying to get in the Elderwood because I am directionally challenged or I spent 100 gold on the fast travel, it does not make me a bad person to choose not to accommodate someone's kind of out of pocket request. Like they can ask. And sure it's nice to say yes sometimes. But it should never be the expectation that people do it. To expect that is frankly just as selfish.
One more couldn't hurt
Tbh, people are allowed to be 'selfish'. This game is supposed to be 'cosy' and something for ppl to wind down on. And if staying on their home plot, or running around bahari instead of changing servers is their way of just winding down and to try to relax, that's fine.
I dont even think that's selfish of them. Some people just want to vibe and that's a perfectly okay thing.
Dont set yourself on fire to keep others warm but way way waaaaaay lower stakes.
I think the main difference here is someone going, "HAHA you want me to leave? out of SPITE i wont!" compared to "nah, im busy, and im just here to vibe."
And that's the thing people are saying-- people are usually busy, just want to vibe, and think the main problem is S6, and isnt trying to stay out of "spite".
I've always found expecting stuff from others is a form of selfishness itself.
Had to learn this the hard way, so very much agreed.
didn't think advocating for selflessness and helping others would get me jumped but here we are lol
This argument was literally "it costs nothing to be kind" vs "i have a right to be selfish" so wowza !!
You're not being jumped. People are explaining their side and opinion on the matter, and trying to have you understand what we mean and vice versa.
We're really not doing that though. Genuinely, we're all explaining here but I think people also don't appreciate being called selfish for not wanting to accommodate everyone. Not necessarily saying you are, but it can come across that way.
No one is jumping you. People are expressing their opinions just like you have. Your opinion is also valuable. But you are passing moral judgments on people simply advocating for their time, and honestly that isnt going to win fans.
I thought originally you were asking what people's opinions on server hopping were, most of us said "if it's out of entitlement, I'm not going to concede". That's the overall sentiment.
Okay so like-- When we're at expansion releases or certain patches, and people are really wanting currency, they'll flood into areas if big hunts or FATEs or whatever are up. Each instance can only hold approx 300, and boy sometimes if you are not there quick enough you will get locked out of the map. But I'd never ask anyone who's already in the instance questing or anything to leave because others are hunting just cause someone in my party didn't make it in in time
enjoy.
..?
The block button is self care.

Bait used to be believable.
you should see my bsky block list LMAO I've gotten to a point where I'm just like "I will block at bad takes I just need to curate my timeline"
alrighty lol
And honestly, if someone asked me to server hop now, when I'm already doing that for those accursed rummage piles, I would, because I'm already suffering from choices made by S6...
I agree with this. I feel like I'd get jumped on OSRS for asking people to jump servers so I can runecraft. (Also I really need to play FFXIV someday).
Man, mine gets longer the more time I spend here. Eventually I'm going to see "50 blocked messages"
(This is totally off-topic but I'm currently being distracted by my cat, who has managed to jump up to the top shelf of a bookcase and is... chasing his tail up there. Lewy, why.)
My life would be so much happier if I could be that easily entertained. I love him.
insert free trial copypasta here
I can't even imagine doing that in ESO, especially in PVP.
I think everyone has inherent value. And with that belief comes the belief, at least for me, that no one is more important than anyone else. That means that I dont think I am more important than anyone else, but also that no one else is more important than me. That doesnt mean that we shouldnt still be kind, generous, understanding, and accommodating of others also existing. But it also means that people dont get to position themselves above other people and say that not deferring to their needs is selfish. It just means we have different desires and needs. Not everyone can have everything they want.
Is it bad I know it by heart already?
Omg one of my cats is also a Lewy. Is he a Llewellyn?????
Thiiiiiiiiis.
This. I've really had to learn this the hard way myself. Self care isn't selfishness.
While I do agree, I also feel like you guys did "jump" them a bit and that was unfair. Like, as a spectator all of a sudden everyone was coming at them with their opinion in the opposite direction. It wasn't cruel by any means, but it was definitely a lot.
I mean, there are multiple poeple talking who have their own opinion. People were just giving theres, and nobody was "jumping" them to make a hostile environment like it was implied.
That certainly wasnt my intention but I understand.
I can understand it can be overwhelming, I do. But they also implied people were selfish with their opinion, so people were clarifying.
Yeah, definitely not hostile! Just a lot at once, I could understand feeling "jumped" in that position. But yes, everyone should express their opinion 100%.
In that case, I don't really understand the "unfair" comment. Because everyone can express their opinion and try to clarify what they are meaning, esp when it was implied they are selfish. That is something I don't think is fair.
I mean, if someone makes a general blanket statement then...people are going to say their opinion and push back.
It's simply that like... You can't insult a bunch of people and not expect pushback from a bunch of people. If you call ten people selfish ten people are gonna push back at you
This. I think what happened is, people were explaining their points and perspectives, and said opinions got twisted into something else. I can definitely understand that feeling, having been there in this server multiple times. But expecting people to listen to your opinion while not listening to theirs or twisting it, is in my opinion, selfish.
I didn't see the original comment to be fair, I couldnt find it. If they were in fact insulting, then yeah I agree. There is also something that could be said about "if you dont want a bunch of people commenting on your opinion, dont post it in an active server", too.
I did kind of necrobump that from several hours ago and for that I apologize.
I personally agreed to some regard, with it being understandable in the case of cooking parties, for example. Cause I've been in those. But if it came from a place of entitlement, that's where we drew the line.
Yeah, and like again. We were just clarifying on what we meant. And I know it was a few people saying their opinion, but to be fair, we all were already active and talking, so... again, was clarifying haha
Yeahhh it was not a great one and there's a line where my hackles get raised too much and I have to stick up for myself
You're good /gen. It happens, it's a place for discussions after all, topics get brought back up, what matters is we can all express our sides in a fair view. We've had misunderstandings here, but when someone comes in with what seems to be bad faith, yeah no.
Eh, I don't think you did anything wrong cause the person got a bit aggro.
but that's just me tho.
I just think it's an interesting topic and I see that there is a pretty clear divide between what people consider community etiquette. I wanted to talk about it, because I really think that people have very different opinions and I want to both share and try to understand.
Also, if the someone here is in disagreement, feel free to move on. We don't need the passive agressiveness here.
Oh, if it was one of those "this is my server and I demand you leave simply because I am here" stances then I do in fact hard disagree. Cooking parties are one thing, dominance out of entitlement is another.
Yeah, and that's what we were trying to explain. We wre talking about the entitlement side of it, not people asking nicely, you know?
Or when youre busy, and you say 'no' because of that, and ppl suddenly get hostile or rude. We were talking about those scenarios specifically
They were kind of positioning their willingness to accommodate that above other people's unwillingness to, insinuating that people that choose not to for any reason are selfish. It didnt come across great. But also they are entitled to feel that way, and share what they feel, but other people are also allowed to do the same in response.
Honestly I thought this was a pretty good example of a discussion not turning into an argument but maybe I misjudged.
Yeah like, it's a social game sure, but people in general are not obliged to help.
It definitely can be. It has been interesting over the years to see how the "etiquette" has changed, too, for me
Dw I've done my share of necroposting and also I think it's an important discussion because of how community etiquitte and player rules have affected the game! It's something I'd always hoped S6 might take note of but... much like withthe current RNG situation, it's hard to tell when they're gonna see an obvious pain point and do something about it sob. but that's why these people should also be pushing back and sending feedback in about it! if they want private servers, then they need to ask the people in charge of the servers
Exactly.
Like it's not unfair to get pushback when it's warranted.
Same honestly, I don't know how to feel. It just got a tad out of hand.
We usually have good discussions here without them turning into hostile arguements... every once in a while, it turns a little sour, but... 9/10? We're all very welcoming, see both perspectives, and have... well, a discussion lol
In general I get the sense that a lot of the game "etiquette" asks a LOT of other people in terms of acquiescing to requests, and trying to hold the mirror up to that doesnt go so well.
Yeah like, again, these sort of things just sadden me in general cause it's a game, it's meant to be for fun. But then we have situations like this and it feels, kinda defeating.
Uh, so how about those RNG-based bundles, huh? That was a popular decision, eh?
sorry, things seemed heated
those RNG-based bundles suck
hahaha
I just had a really good grove interaction!! I was all the way across the map and was trying to make it but got lost as I do hahaha and they were so willing to wait for me. I told them not to because lost but it was very very kind. I love seeing that.
im just here seeing if they will actually fix the underground market firework exploit
re: the rng bundles
Honestly I'm p sure that's one of the few things I imagine every player agrees with
you'd be surprised.
Still~ don't have the recipes I need~ and mad about it~
Well akshually I love the RNG suffering and I love the fireworks, I do not want to hear further opinions /s

Oh Rel, you sweet summer child /lh
My spark of hope.... snuffed.... /sobs
I wish I had this much faith in humanity.
I'm still refusing to do them and hoping they send the furniture in mail
Lacie reported in earlier and said next patch should sort it out
Two or three weeks is kind of a long time to wait for something that I understand was causing medical issues
Sadly considering their track record, this is fast.
Honestly I uninstalled till the LNY. (Well, I also wanted to make room for HSR and Nikki but y'know
).
ill be the judge of it lmao, when next patch rolls ill be there testing like a madman and also trying not to be a disruptor
Yeah, it's moreso seeing if it works and what they did to fix it. I'm really hoping the fix is disabling fireworks and honeylures as a whole in the UG
Honestly, same. It'd be beyond done-teaf for them not to, atp
HSR is feeding us good
(also Rel if you're reading this, join us. Thrive. /j)
pls talk to me about HSR, thank u
They've done it before sooo
But I also really wish they'd address it and take accountability for it, in a post, for players. There's been a lot of blunders this patch and I feel players deserve that.
Rel is gonna make me want to try FFXIV again.
NOOO I'm already trying to cut a gacha out of my life LOL
and yesss come to the FFXIV dark side
As soon as I get a new PC, I'm right there
(Alongside Wuwa and, some others)
Yeeeesssssss come to WuWa.
I just finished walking 9k steps on my walking pad while playing the game. Makes it go by so quickly. That is in addition to the 6k steps I did on my lunch break doing the same thing hahah
You are far more dedicated than I could ever be LOL sob
i could easily, easily, do 6k steps.
in game
I have a years long streak of walking 15k steps a day and it is a blessing and a curse. But I can play game and walk, which makes it easier haha. Thank goodness for controller support even if it isnt amazing!
I think the only thing I havent figured out yet is changing bait on my fishing rod or changing arrows/bombs equipped. I have to right click for it.
sigh I should go for a walk that isn't in Bahari or Elderwoods.
They count IRL I swear š
I used to walk 2k everyday to university
Pokemon Go made me walk so much as well. Reasons I wish I had a steamdeck ngl.
Omg could you imagine trying to do Elderwoods in VR, claustrophobia!!
You mean you actually leave your plot?
That sounds like an eas yway to get dizzy and nauseous
Sometimes!
VR headsets would give me so much motion sickness
Elderwoods would be sooo disorientating oml
It takes a LOT of effort to walk from my farm plots to the little watering hole. I cant afford the well yet!! /s
I tried Skyrim in VR once and it was not a good idea.
this is why I have my farm plots right next to the little mini pond!
They were harshing the aesthetic and I moved them behind my house which looks very nice the way I have it but is more annoying.
You took an arrow to the knee?
I can undersatnd that! I like how I got mine looking, since i have them infront of a window/kitchen type area, so it looks okay for the most part!
Always.
Been there, that well is honestly a godsend
I so wanted to make a plot design around it, but having only 9 plots makes it so difficult
Also as neat as it is that crops can buff other crops, it does make it feel like you need to have that square grid of crops, instead of spreading them out or in different shapes
I wish we could make a huge farming plot or have an apple orchard or something. Like, let me be insane.
I know it's sub optimal but I just do 9 of one thing, 9 of another thing, 9 of another thing, in squares. Maybe eventually I will care more about the best layout for different objectives but eh.
I did manage to make an irregular design that I like and is decent enough! I really wanted to have those Wisteria canopies on top but you can't place them on top of 3x3 farms
So I had to get creative
Delailah and her wanting 10 starred blueberries ma'am idk who you think I am.
Not me with over 1k blueberries cause I was lucky to get them level 3 gardening
Seriously. Like girl I don't even have one regular blueberry.
Honestly trying to figure out the best layout or figuring that stuff out, is super overwhelming and gets confusing fast. I think that's one of the reasons i gave up with gardening.
If there was a way to 'save' a layout and just replant easily that way, instead of having to remember where everything goes, ti'd probably be easier and not as daunting for me.
Just feels like a whole lot of math and sometimes i just dont wanna do math
I ended up with 1 bush and managed to get i think 6 starred berries out if it before it went to the great berry patch in the sky rip angel.
This becomes such an issue past level 25 gardening though. You're unable to fill requests cause well
Gosh and those Wisteria canopies are so cute!
This was with dumping heaps of quality fertilizer on it.
I still don't understand why they just haven't let us send starred stuff to ppl again. I get it was 'bugged' in the past so they removed that, but still.
Source of when it was removed: https://palia.com/news/patch-170
(Also.. note: "We will be making updates very soon to allow star quality items to be both sent and requested." ... that was a little over 2 years ago :( )
Soon is relative. Soon to today? Soon to the heat death of the universe? Perhaps.
Oh i didnt finish my thought oops-- got distracted by my instacart order.
But yeah it was bugged to be "regular" and "downgrade" and not be starred, so I understood. But now it's just really.. frustrating, bc of always having starred produce
Just logged in quickly to try to take a screenshot to show it off (once again I'm asking for a better in game camera). Included a little overshoot sc
Very pretty!!
You got too good at the game, skill issue the other way š
Thank youu
I really love it! Though it did take some cancel placement.
Einar pls.
Gorgeous is what I typed in all caps with several exclamations.
This does not convey the breadth of how I feel. Einar.
Einar doesn't like it when we're too excited about something
/lh
You can just add in all caps
next to it
Im also picturing Einar in the game telling me I am too excited in his robot voice. Being excited is my oneness leave me alone man š
Joking obviously but thank you!
I admitedly am very happy with it even if it was a bit of a pain to remember at first
I like doing (in caps) or, if i really wanted to express the excitement with that, i might of added ⨠emoji to it
Good to know thank you!
Emotes and emojis help me so much with expressing my tone and what im feeling. I use them so often
And if I don't have one available, then I just make it for later (and then promptly forget it exists)
Same but people instantly clock im ancient because I use š (im not that ancient but)
I used to be a š user until I started using š¤£
Why? No idea
The world of emotes and emojis eventually moves on without us all. Either you adapt or people know you are freaking old on sight.
This is my favorite
Wish I could use it IRL.
Hahaha, I still use that one sometimes, and I know a few others!
I love the badruu emote. It conveys so much.
But emotes bring me back to the MSN days
I even added some very old school ones I used to use back in the day for my own use
and
are two emotes I wish I could use on a daily basis irl
I love it!! It's also so interesting how stuff comes back. I saw someone asking what blingees they should use for some page they were building and I was teleported back in time against my will lol
I like this one a lot from paliacord, I think
That may have been here even, I cant remember
Blingeee my beloved
Also a favorite. Alongside
and
Blingee takes me back. I'm getting old.
Join us. Thrive (if you dont have chronic back pain) (I have chronic back pain) (the knees also not amazing)
Okie, time for me to put groceries away and start making glutenfree spaghetti for dinner. Was lovely chatting with y'all
Spagbowl is always good, hope you enjoy!
Oh while I'm still here-ish, offtopic but stay safe everyone in the winter storm's path!!! it looks to be a doozy
to say the least
Thank you Rel! Even though it's summer for me
But yes, hoping everyone is safe during the storm! Sending hugs š©·
pls send some of that summer, we're getting like a foot of snow LOL
Feel free to take it, I'm literally melting
Not like I wasn't asking for sunny weather but man
Send some of that snow too pls
I'm home until Wednesday š„° might get extra palia time if I can get this class done! I'm looking forward to the snow, my kids are excited
I've yet to see snow in person, enjoy!
It's gonna ice ice baby here so if that happens likely no power, no internet, no Palia for me for a few days!
It hurts to look at when the sun is out. Very blinding.
I had a crazy rough week and was thinking of getting the Zeki club but figured I would wait this out so I dont potentially lose out on coins if I cant log in haha
I guess Palia really does imitate real life
/hj, the sun is very much bright here as well
True snow is so magical and beautiful for like a day or two and then it's gross and blinding and ashy from car exhaust. Very ephemeral.
But a true good powdery snow is an exquisite experience every so often.
I'm in central Oklahoma, we aren't expecting to lose power so thankfully I hopefully won't lose any Zeki days. I just need to finish business law and hopefully pass it š
That is amazing! I hope you do really well!!
I can relate to this, I had to take business and customs law
Best of luck!
Ive had really good luck for a few days from the Zeki gacha machine and I just got 5 spice sprouts š
Thank u! I made sure to double check groceries and that we have enough stuff. We barely needed anything thankfully LOL, but got some glutenfree brownie mix imma give a try tomorrow
Also speaking of snow, what would be really cute is if chapaas and sernuk had little footprints or something in the snow in the game. It'd be cute, even if it's not something they left while they move, but just, little areas that show the little tracks.
That's one fo my fav things when looking at snow IRL, so it'd be kinda cute to see it in palia too
(even tho the snow is very blinding š )
It's part of my accounting degree, but my current semester is over at the end of the month. My track record so far has been passing every class on my first attempt (even ones that others have failed multiple times) so I'm really hoping the pattern continues š¬
I am staying inside all weekend.
