i pretty much exclusively wear skirts and dresses (w leggings, bloomers, split slips, etc) bc i find them far more comfy than jeans/most pants/etc.

and for me it's not even like a "modesty thing" per se it's just a comfort thing. i do nannying in my dresses (not my miniskirts, but STILL), the bloomers/slip/etc part of it is very important just for ease of movement 😭😭

Also allowing people to buy pieces of outfits based on a similar tier system like bugs have (epic, common, uncommon etc) would give them more revenue overall cause people would buy what they actually want.

Trophies don't count, they're isolated to your housing plot, others aren't going to see those unless they go out of their way to visit your place.
I want to see visual character growth, a way to represent what you've earned and accomplished through your character, not a plot of land.

Nameplates are.... sort of getting there, but they're so few in number, and the ones for getting a lot of votes in home tours I disregard because those are not actually earned through gameplay in my eyes- in 99.9% of cases, you "earn" those through activities outside of the game, eg asking for vote trading in discord or social media.

Imagine that you play with two friends.
You love mining. You want to show off your love for mining with, say, a miner's outfit.
Your first friend loves bug catching. They want to show off their love for bug catching through their character, too.
Your second friend loves fishing, and wants to show off their love for that by wearing a fishing themed outfit.
there is NO way for one to actually look more like their "job" through gameplay.
All three of you are stuck wearing the same set of generic default clothes, with no way to ever progress your character's visual appearance through actual gameplay.

In an RPG, this would be the equivalent of having a party consisting of a knight, a mage, and a thief all stuck wearing the default level 1 outfit(s) with no way to ever advance beyond that visually. No way for the knight to wear armor without paying cash. No way for the mage to get robes and a wizard hat without paying cash. No way for the thief to get some cool stealthy looking garb without paying cash.
They're all stuck looking like a level 1 newbie unless they pay up- There's no visual progression to be earned. It's all paid. 😔

You can focus in a skill you enjoy, but there is zero way to show that you prefer that skill as a playstyle, or even that you engage in it at all.
You can't show it off visually, you can't sell goods or even gift without someone else requesting first, and you can't even see peoples' levels.
A game can get by without cosmetic visual progress if there is meaningful stat progression. If a player is a level 100 miner, and this is visible information, then it doesn't matter so much if they don't look like one.
Palia does not have meaningful stat progression, and what little it does have isn't visible to anyone else, so the only form of showing off what you earned is cosmetic.

A way they possibly could've done this would've been if you decided to pursue a character romantically or just have a platonic relationship like Stardew Valley did with one NPC. Just so the option is there for everyone.

it's not about how many you can romance, it's about the potential worry that people could potentially be "forced" to romance in order to progress in the future, even if they don't want to pursue romance, so an option for a more platonic relationship should be provided if it does wind up have some kind of progression tied to it

I can confirm after testing that the crashes on Switch have gotten worse since the update. No matter how long I wait outside my housing plot for Kilima to load, it will still crash if I go into town or towards the waterfall area. the only way for me to get into Kilima is to let the game crash and then reload it, and it'll spawn me at the stable.

My smelter ores/bricks don't line up anymore, my interpretation of this is because there is an "extra slot" in the smelter for an ore type that may be coming. Used to, when you had ore and brick of each type, they lined up on top of each other. Now they don't. Could also simply be a visual error too.

It is unfortunate for those on the switch or low to mid end computers to be FORCED into home tours that are by and large maxed out on clutter; which in turn maxes out aforementioned machines. Looks like a pass on the shroom jump decor...this game isn't worth the risk to my system. Just being forced into home tours for jukeboxes nearly ruined my graphics card but it did burn out one cooling fan. Besides Enshrouded has way better shrooms to jump on lol can set that game way down on easy few enemies and at the end of the several quests to get all musical instruments and set down with your friends and play the music sheets as a group lol

i was reading through patch notes and i noticed with every update that they nerf the difficulty for quests over time: materials needed from high level to easier acquired, completing quest requirements getting more lenient…etc and it makes me think its reducing the payoff and learning for palia? idk if im being too weird about it but it feels like there wouldnt be a need to get those resources or learn from the quests to get higher results anymore bc its not needed. i understand its better for new players, especially at the time it was frustrating but the reward after felt accomplishing. has anyone else thought this or just me thinking too into it?

Ppl already mentioned-- this game isn't competitive. At all. There is no real advantage 1 player may have compared to another. The only thing that the devs are doing, that im pretty sure theyre wanting to do, is slow game down. Which is fair, that's valid.

But with some things it's honestly just inaccessible. Some things in bundles can't be done for some. Fishing, is the big one. (since hunting/bug/cooking has workarounds, technically with friends/groups).

It just makes it really difficult. Plus the RNG system having no proper pity/bad luck protection is really... demotivating, demoralising, and just not fun for a lot of players.

That's just progression though, we're referring to the fact it doesn't mean anything in this game if you get 'further' ahead than someone else. That's always going to happen. Unfair advantages would be if, as some of us were theorising yesterday, they were to give paid pets a courier mechanic that f2p players can't access. But trading would just facilitate a lot of the locked progression for players who can't do certain skills (such as fishing).

To be quite honest, there isn't much that'd be locked via going to bahari or not, anyhow. Some of the stuff that's locked, progression wise, is slowed via friendship levels (like the shepp quest) anyhow. By the time ppl are at lvl 4 friendship to finish said quest, they probably have gotten stuff for smackin' bigger trees already anyways.

So honestly, helping ppl with gifting and trading materials in that way, probably wouldn't affect much in the grand scheme of things (imo).

Especially for a game that is slowly turning more focused on Home Plots, Decorating, etc. Like, yeah... maybe they can help give a bit of gold to buy this 1 recipe someone might really want ... but that doesn't affect the story, progression, etc. It just makes them happy that they can continue to decorate. Which doesn't impact gameplay.

i can see that yeah, but i think those quests also felt like you need at least like 15 hours of gameplay to progress into the mid-high level materials so by then it wasnt really super new to the game even for prologue quests. personally it also helped me understand how to learn star quality level items or foods but when those difficulties are taken out it feels like its not even needed to learn (other than for your own displays)

i completed that quest through social cooking because of this discord server and it was so nice 🥹🥹 it really helped feel more like a community game to complete the quest

I honestly didn't like the exclusive stuff, only bc of fomo vibes. (but, since they added some to like zeki ball it's at least better. if they did that more i wouldn't mind as much, or if it was rotating twitch drops).

Yeah I think I big issue we're seeing is feels like they intend for there to be more story eventually to carry us along through the tool and material progression and there is also no scaling for leveling xp, so you advance very quickly on levels and tools etc but the story doesn't keep up. It doesn't feel balanced, and I think originally the more advanced quest requirements were because the player base was largely very advanced already, so they needed advanced things to feel accomplished. The rebalance I think comes because in the process of adding more story through elderwoods the balance likely felt off esp for the new player experience.

Well, it's moreso because players who weren't present during the time the twitch drops were released or don't use twitch will have missed out. Some will not care but others, specially those who are collector, most likely will. It's down to each person but also doenst help the game promised there would be no FOMO yet they've been slowly going back on it cause, some people seem to like it.

Hmmm... Twitch works by categories (just chatting, specific games, irl, etc...) and they always track the amount of time you watch in the platform (that's why you get channel points to redeem based on the hours you've watched a streamer).

If the channel you're watching is streaming that category (in this case, Palia), it counts for the drops. You need to have your Palia account linked so when you claim rewards on your twitch mailbox it automatically sends you a message in game with the items.

it only took me ehh a week tops to hit end game when i started playing and thats only getting the necessary things out of it. like the entire time i played i didnt mess with npcs or decorating. all i did was just chop some wood mindlessly and did all the quests that was linked to the story, Once they stopped adding to the story the game got stale.
