It's one of those things I've held a special place for since imo it should be clearly labeled, as funny as it is to meme beta is beta it got old very fast due to s6s usual mismanagement

I play with friends, and i have my own complaints with that tbh and some flaws. A lot of the quests get completed if just one person does it on the server, so, since i joined them all late... a lot of the 'main story' quests got completed for me and I didnt get to experience it. It was a shame tbh.

But the building has been nice! And you can place walls and stuff with the hammer, like someone said.

I find it fascinating that S6 has laid such an intriguing and solid foundation that people are utterly obsessed with Palia. So many people can't find something else to entertain themselves with for a few days until a hotfix is put into place. It's fascinting to watch the frenzy over Palia.

it's carried some of us through really dark times, it's encouraged deep friendships that expand into the real world, and pushed people to develop themselves and their skills in ways they'd never considered. something really magical about this game. which makes the mis-steps all the more painful to those of us who've loved it a long time

How do I get leather, fabric, and silk?

Make sure you have the loom crafter - the recipe can be purchased from the Furniture Guild Shop. Once you've reached level 2, talk to me and access the Guild Shop for the recipe!

Or you can even buy the leather/fabric/silk directly from my store! (Look for the cash register.)

Leather comes from animal hide, fabric comes from cotton, and silk comes from silk thread obtained from rare bugs.

The feedback for palia use to get passed along when we had a community manager until they all left so I don't even know how feedback is collected now

Then again the only time the acted on feedback was when they addressed the cosmetic store that they would adjust the coins so you wouldn't need to buy something like 600 coins to get a 200 coin item but that was quickly ditched

while the trading still scares me as a fan, i think it's a good step for folks to have an avenue to get some of them. but i do wish there was a less random way to get them, because for every person who gets a sernuk plushy in the first few tries is someone who's 1700+ with nothing

agreed, like i don't know if you can make code for it, but something like how some irl claw machines are, they have a set payout where after like 20 plays (probably more for those more scammy arcades) you're guaranteed to get the plush, maybe could do something like that with the plushes, maybe like after hunting 100 or 500 elder sernuk with no plush you're guaranteed to get the plush on the next hunt, could even just be server side, like the server itself has a limit that if reached everyone who hunts will get the plush when they make their next hunt (that's probably way to hard to do)

bad luck protection for the hunting plushies is fairly straightforward, sure. bit trickier for the fishing ones (which i think are just now in the fish pool like makeshift?) or the zeki coins, where you might need a few dozen bad luck 'counters' tracking at any given time

I have mixed feelings about plushie trading tbh.
On one hand, I feel like it's good for the game, in the sense that people can actually obtain those items who couldn't, and it's a tiny step towards making palia actually feel like a bit more like a multiplayer game rather than a single player game

on the other hand, it kind of feels like it devalues the items for those who want them as a way to show off an achievement rather than just a cute little house decoration.... but that's the fault of the game having literally no other way to show off what you've earned, more than it is the fault of trading being a thing

nah, it's the weekend, s6 is probably closed, so the earliest we could get any word would probably be monday, unless, since they released the patch earlier than what they have in the past, they could be on thanksgiving break which means won't be until the following week

broadly? yes, but more specifically, I suspect that:

multiple devs are working on different areas content-wise (one might be working on new quest content, one might be working on adding plushes to rng loot tables, etc)

but my theory is that these multiple "branches" of code are not being merged properly when creating/releasing a new patch for the game, and are therefore breaking things when they're pushed live

for example, let's say that developer "A" is working on, say, a questline that changes one of the temples somehow.
Developer "B" is working on adding more foliage to the world, and this includes the temples.

A and B might be thoroughly bug-checking their code and everything comes up clear, and say "this is good, let's add it"
but then whoever is in charge of merging A and B might not be doing their due diligence, and just copypastas the code from A and the code from B together..... annnnd the temple breaks.

This gets even worse when you consider that developer A might have been spending 3 months working on their code and is using the game version from 3 months ago the whole time.
But one of the bugs present in the game in this example might have gotten patched out 2 months ago, only to be reintroduced by shoddy code merging from developer A's older version of the game

This is all just a long-winded theory, mind you, but I have a pretty strong suspicion this is probably one of the causes to blame for more than a few of the game's issues.

while this may be true (honestly sounds like it could be), they need to have qa before release. it kinda makes it look like nobody plays the game before patch release, because a lot of the issues have been spotted by players within 5 minutes of being released into the wild. it wouldn't hurt that the team that on the day they announce when the next patch update is that they spend the day playing and making sure the game has a good play through and if something is amiss can be worked on friday and monday before release. instead of having a buggy mess where players are complaining and being turned off of the game because of it

100 rounds of cake now makes around 70k. if you want more profit cooking party, i suggest the epic fish cooking party. those take less time and make so much more than the usual cake party. you can get roughly 200k-400k from just one party.

We coming up 2025, I think the problem is that s6 keeps promising and never kept it. As much as I want to give s6 benefit of doubt due to limited staffing, real world issues, etc.

It's been few years now and I have never seen the game not being fully released before until palia.

I guess I'm saying I'm burnt out on the game, I honestly thinks there are no excuses at this point of time. There no communication but the comestic (sorry if it's misspelled, I meant the pay to look pretty for example) stuffs and occasionally one or 2+ s6 popping in and out just to give mini update on the temple or whatever.

Now I know there will be some people going to comment, "actually..." to my statement but my point still stands.

Is the engine even up to par? Why there no CM's? (Yes I know they cut down the staffing). Why they insisting to not have a roadmap for people (communication) but locked it behind nda?

We have so many questions and we kept trying to get our voices out but to no avail or do they actually noted it down and knowledges it.

At the end of the day, it's should be noted how we do want to play stable bug free server with story content.

i submitted a bug ticket on that focus % issue and took the opportunity to scroll back through my tickets, the oldest ones were more than three years old. it's been quite a journey, and they've come a long way from those early days; even if they still have quite a ways to go and keep tripping over their shoelaces. i'm also hopeful that the elderwoods give the players and the team some breathing room, but their cadence after launch is going to need to be closer to the alpha pace than what we've seen in the later half of beta.

I saw mention of wanting access to personal storage from other maps a while ago. Unfortunately I feel like that's not likely to happen, or at least not on every map (maybe Elderwoods?). They purposely designed the game to try and encourage you to change maps so that servers can shut down, because of memory leaks ballooning ram usage of the servers over time. A lot of us doing early tests told them it was too early to release to the public but they did it anyway. They had potential but killed it by revealing their hand too early, which lost a lot of that momentum and hype they'd built up.

When they launched I gave them a year before servers shut down. The acquisition happened about 8-9 months later and saved them from that, but my current diagnosis is that if Elderwoods doesn't at least double the content, include a new skill, and come out nearly bug-free, the game is done by the end of 2025.

Yep, there's always been a lack of forward momentum in this game.

Games like Stardew keep you hooked because just when the loop starts to get stale, there's something new to mix it up. A new season. A new festival. A new villager. A new map. A new goal to work towards.

Palia has been one of the best games I’ve played for a while, but I’m tired of pretending like there’s no issue at all. My optimism has turned me annoying when people make complaints about the game, so I’m going to stop that and get serious. The fact the game has no music rn bugs me to my core. I hate that all the bugs, and hunt-able creatures dash halfway across the map before I can kill them. The constant freezing and lagging when talking to villagers has been absolutely annoying and I hate having to close the game every other 30 minutes to complete dialogue. The temple of the gales made me close the game about 5 times just to complete it and it drove me nuts. I don’t care about s6 pushing cosmetics. The devs need to eat and provide for their family, but I want the game I love so much to work period. I won’t be annoying about people complaining anymore because I get it and I’m sorry for being a jerk. They gotta fix the game or people will leave and there will be no game for anyone at all. And that means a lot of people will lose out on a job and I don’t want that to happen.

I think part of the problem is that this is supposed to be a multiplayer game. There isn't enough multiplayer content to sustain the game in-between updates.

Any game like this is going to rely on a game loop. gather, craft, decorate with some lore if you are lucky. It is supposed to be a social game but only within their timeline, i.e. Maji market and hotpot. I have no idea why the Maji market isn't open all the time and they rotate different events.

Imo, they made a huge mistake releasing flow trees being planted on lots. That just killed the social aspect of the flow groves. They made a multiplayer game and slowly turned it into a single player game.

For one, we have item limits. And plot limits. And there's only so much space in your house.... and homes are generally a hassle to visit in general, on top of that (as in actually visiting the person's actual plot, not the home tour thing)

But instead of getting a healthy variety of content, and a healthy variety of rewards, they're hyperfocusing on "collectables" to the point it feels like everyone's house is just going to turn into the same trophy room/plush hoard that everyone else has, and monetizing 99% of everything else that can be considered cosmetic (which, I consider most home decor cosmetic too, save for the crafting tables and processing stations...)

Have NPCs walk over to make random comments, so could have interesting flavour text, show their personality more, etc.

• Player trading via a barter system, you can trade items for other items of similar value or rarity

• Item sink initiatives, where players across servers could donate items to trigger in-game events like a firework show

• World events with unique resources that require co-op play. Meteor shower that happens some nights with flow-tree like ores, bug swarms where all of the bugs need to be caught to make a "queen" appear, etc.

• Alternate tools for each skill, such as a net for fishing that catches multiple fish at once but requires another player to help out, or fishing traps that allow you to place and fish passively, coming back later to collect a random fish

• Specializations in each skill you can freely change between but must level separately. For instance, mining might have one class that does more damage, one class that increases yields, and one class that helps locate nodes

• A revamped focus system that turns it into an active buff you can toggle on for increased resource yields, increased movement speed, and higher damage / reeling speed

• A skill tree to give small buffs to various facets of the game that you can put renown into to level up

• Buffs to skills from cooking, instead of just flat focus boosts, to encourage making other dishes

imo, from what someone once said on reddit, it could be ||Taylin, Sifuu's wife, cause some people thing she's cursed and some of the hints also lead me to believe the intruder is hiding themselves for more than just their general identity. And plus, her being dead is mostly assumed||

When you get to be Tamala's age, any relationship with a living male of any age automatically qualifies you as a cougar.

i havent done her story so i honestly dont know how old she really is. its hard for me to really pinpoint anyones age in this game with the really vague descriptions

100% agree. If I knew at least how old everyone is then I would make an assumption on how long Tamala and Hassian could've been together. It just feels icky to me when she speaks of him so sweetly in such a sarcastic tone since I know how hurt Hassian got from being with her 😔

Tamala made me extremely uncomfortable after I finished the three friendship quest by delivering the 'cake'. I had to haul butt to Hodari for the comfort after dealing with her.

There’s another thing I noticed today about the game, Zeki’s general no longer plays the door jingle when you enter or leave 😭 It used to for me even without the game music playing
