Yeah, I also believe there are some pretty obvious solutions or partial solutions to some core issues, but no idea when or if they will ever implement such things.

Another option, is just having it to where you can "queue" for. That way you can queue with friends, with randoms, etc.

I've been playing since August, and it wasn't that bad during closed beta, but after that, or well... not super long after that I should say, the etiquette started to slowly evolve into something more & just ... toxic.

I think people tend to forget that resources are always spawning and very fast, so they take not following the arbitrary rules as an attack when really people just don't want to wait around all the time and it's entirely valid. It would be different if resources were limited, but they aren't so if someone only has an hour to play why would they spend half of that time waiting around at groves or flaring? /gen

I... kinda meant, the way people treat others is toxic that is revolved/around the "etiquette". I don't follow the etiquette (in the sense, I'm never around groves anyways. I usually avoid them because of that reason). I'm too restless. I don't call out tress or palium lol. I play Palia while dissociated and to vibe. I can't rly read chat anyways.

The way people shame others, witchhunt, belittle, etc for not following a specific "social etiquette" is what's toxic. Not saying this is always the case, but it's something that's happening more and more.

yeah, and that is something that's different. for me, i fully understand and get the frustration. I mean, i've gotten sad/frustrated a few times myself, when I am runnin' to a FT in the past (that i can visually see), and it got chopped before i could get there ... but it's another when I see others belittling/shaming tohers, and people who try to bring it into Discord about it.. it doesn't happen much or as often anymore in discord, thankfully. but yeah.

It's just disheartening, and it's what I hate seeing.

If it’s any consolation I haven’t seen much in the way of the negativity others are claiming are happening in hot pot. And if I did, I’d either just ignore it or hop to a new server. Most servers are wonderful.

It's like one of the main reasons I'm glad I can't properly read chat sometimes, because of how people treat others. ... I still avoid a lot of things though, because I still get nervous about upsetting others. It trips up my anxiety.

And ugh hotpot. That is the one area where turning off the chat doesnt work (when youre in-game, with those people), and the chat UI is larger so I can actually read it easier ... I want to avoid that area so much bc of it all lmao. ... plus i dont care for the hotpot game

Didn't know about people having special spots. I have started seeing a bit of people wanting games to go faster. I did have one day where the game was done at round 3 or so, and it was like that multiple games in a row. I was so confused.

Nobody really has special "reserved" spots. It's kind of like how seats are once you're in college. There's not really assigned seating but everyone kind of assigns themselves a spot over the semester and Phoenix forbid you sit at that spot. A lot of players would like hot pot at plots or private sessions of hot pot to play with friends though.

Because there are many parts of housing that are restricted but just shouldn't be. I get item limits because of performance issues, but things such as where we're allowed to place wallpaper/paint/flooring and some furniture being limited to being put on grass is ridiculous.

if you were brand new to the game, Tish's dream home might seem awe-inspiring. But if you've played long enough to buy a few rooms and unlock some decent furniture you begin to wonder if anyone from S6 actually plays the game.

I might have to load the game back up so i can show what i mean, too. because w/ the outfits, it'll show an icon in the bottom left to preview the gliding animation, except for the first outfit. (at least, it was like that before i closed the game.) so it just feels... kinda gross to me, personally. I know that's probably a mistake, but it still feels weird to me atm.

For context, Guild Wars 2; which is arguably a far more successful mutliplayer game has a cash shop. If you spent $63.98 - $100 in their cash shop buying gems, you could buy several better looking outfits and reskins that I might add can be dyed however you like. This is minimum $63.98 for 3 color pallette variations on a single outfit. Yikes.

Also, I don't get why particle effects are tied to the torso parts of outfits. Same goes with my plague doctor outfit. Why can't I just have an effects slot and equip my lantern to it?

Thanks for this. Inconsistency in promo material versus what shows up in the shop has been a long-standing peeve. I hope Palia will eventually get all their cosmetics packaging figured so that it's not a guessing game every time. Not to be off topic of the current outrage, but....

Warframe can be a microtransaction hell. BUT it does offer a ton of customization. I get it is a major source of income for the game. So, one thing from there I would like to see over here is their color scheme set.

Here we get 3 different individual skin types per bundle, which is nice. But the colors on each of those individual skins limit those sets so much. What Warframe does is they let you buy color palettes that are themed. Then you can use those themed color swatches in the palettes to color your skins however you want. If we could get that instead of 3 predestined colors it would be excellent.

There's still a very small chance Palia does well if Daybreak fires all of S6's current management, and they introduce a better monetization model; with which they'd have to heavily discount items in the premium store. And they actually give us a roadmap of future content. And they start fixing bugs that have been in the game since beta and onward.

Usually, when something goes wrong, we get a post from the director/producer that's like "Okay so we see/heard that this thing is a problem, this is why it's happening, this is what we intend to do to fix it, this is a timeline of when we hope to have it fixed". obv not for everything and obv not for every issue. but for the bigger issues we even get like, multiple dev posts over time that keep us up to date on the problem at hand (the housing lottery glitch and the clusterbleep that was Endwalker's launch queues come to mind)

meanwhile S6 is either silent or if something goes wrong it's "oopsie woopsies a chapaa tripped on a wire!" and that's all we really get

There's no real options/adjustments I can do. I can't differienciate specific effects to one another and adjust their volume. Like, people have been asking for specific sliders, like bugs, foreabgles, etc as their separate thing. (like 1 being bugs, the other being forage), if that makes sense.

I am not saying they shouldn't have one, i never did. I said I understand why they don't, because for one, finding someone who is willing to do it is hard. Paying someone who does it properly is expensive.

Steam reviews are pretty useless nowadays unless a community is trying to review-bomb a game for whatever reason. It's like going to walmart's website and seeing 5 star reviews for a shifty product left by "notabot4353"

honestly its very easy to the tell the difference between a troll and genuine feedback, and it being your job and the community keeping your product alive it is your responsibility to act on such feedback and to filter through it. people are spending a lot of money to keep your game up and running, the LEAST you could do is at least respond to some of the feedback and criticism even if you dont immediately take action.

When the game first launched on steam it was a lot of us veterans making our displeasure heard because it was the first time we could do so where it could actually be aggregated.

There are definitely a lot of crappy, hastily written negative reviews on there... but there are just as many positive ones as well.

As I've always said, Palia is great for the first few months. Then the honeymoon phase wears off and you start looking at a lot of the problems it has.

It seems they are very directed to female frames than male frames, I always wanted a witchy outfit for my male frame character, but nope. Once again, only for female frame. I feel like they're forgeting something, and it's getting annoying.

Palia, to me is basically an idle game with house building which is why it checks off those boxes I really like.

Melvor idle is decent! Chillquarium is also one I like, but you do have to have that one open. it doesnt have progression if you have the game closed, sadly, if iremember correctly. Same with Pacifish. (I can talk about those more, but probably in off-topic. my knowledge of melvor is a bit minimal, however!)

one i 100% recommend::: Rusty's Retirement. It can sit at the bottom of your screen (or beside it). Can have that up while you're playing palia, if you wish.

Seeing the game get buggier with every update, the repeated layoffs (and the glassdoor reviews do not paint a pretty picture), overpriced cosmetics getting more and more emphasis (and yes I know that's how they keep the lights on currently), lack of accessibility options and crickets to feedback about it even though people have been sending forms and pushing for it since closed beta (and I imagine before), lack of any earnable cosmetic options, emphasis on boring grinds above actual fun content, and issues with a community that often would deride me and others for being critical of things

I don't play anymore atm but I do lurk and am interested to see where things go. I certainly don't miss "BUT IT'S FREE, DO YOU WANT THE DEVS TO STARVE" yelled at me all the time LOL

Hello! I am new to the game am wondering what are some helpful tips and tricks to know as a beginner?

Use your renown on the Phoenix shrine as it will help with lvl faster your professions. Also the dragon shrine when you feel like you have to eat to many times. You basically have to top those, 100% at the phoenix and 1000 at the dragon. (All this is for your focus hover over your focus bar in character mode so you can read more about it)

Otherwise just enjoy the game at your own pace. There is no rush into getting thins, it's a slow paced game 💜

okey hear me out:

1. Way more fields like 4-5 times the amount we already got, but drasticly reduce the gained money for the crops.
2. Preparing food without cooking them directly but being able to store prepared ingrediences. Spoiling is not a thing anyways. Make the prepared ingredient sell cost as much as the crops were before, so the meals would be as balanced as they were before. Food spoilage is no thing so we dont have to care about that.
3. More crop and fruit variety, being able to have multiple things to grow efficiently. And with more fields on your plot, being able to make much better looking farms that specialize in different things (if you want)
4. Way more recepies for cooking. You cant do anything with pickled food or jam other than kimchi. Let us make stuff like idk salat? Pickles with cucumbers and pickled potatoes and cabbages.
5. Add bugs to more recepies. Idk let us have fancy weird food with bugs, and/or let us use them as bait for special fishes. The better the bug, the better the chance of a really rare fish. Everything kinda works together except the bug catching smh

To add onto that, there should be food buffs similar to sushi and other recipes giving a fishing reticle/health bar buff. Things like a small boost to your chance of getting gems from mining, slightly more damage per swing at trees, etc. Almost all of the food except a few recipes are completely worthless aside from decoration and the achievements because they're so expensive to make when there are recipes that are efficient (Petit fives, I'm looking at you) and restore just as much focus if not more.

On point 2 I don't understand you mean by "store prepared ingredients"? You mean like chop extra carrots and when you want to cook you allready have extra carrots chopped? That would be nice.

add sprinklers like in stardew valley, maybe let us mix up all the fertilizers to create new ones with both or more properties, maybe to make them stay longer in the soil.
There are ways to improve the "automation" in that regard. But i need more space to put different crops on it. If we got more, i had to rotate the crops each time to get all of them, which is kinda exhausting if you are literally endgame.
