don’t reel in while it’s jumping and while it’s in the air, only reel in when the outline is green. If that’s what you are already doing, maybe it’s a stress thing? If so, just imagine that instead of a shark you’re reeling in a yellowfin tuna; they are the same size and do same movements anyways

from what I understand each of the artifact places once you max them out you get the relic recipe

2X daily rummage pile
buying artifact bags from tamals potion store i think the max is 2 or 3 i cant remember
offering the sacred flowers to the shrines can also give an artifact bag
you had in sets of artifacts at elderwood central stables, after completing a set you get Louisa's Tokens

Spending Louisa's tokens in the shop (right outside where you hand the artifacts in) you can then buy the schmatic / recipe to craft a Relic
Equipping an Relic will give you and all party members that buff related to that relic

for instence i have Illusion Relic tier4 and it give the ability to hunt, catch bugs, forage and fish the infected without using potions or special ammo and all my party member will get that buff aswell

you need to make the relics in order tier 1, 2, 3 then 4

I think the maw also has some scarring or something can't really see with it on the bottom I just threw them down quickly

I dont think theyll be in elderwoods as it wasnt part of the patch notes and it also didnt say anything about the fish before elderwood would transfer there. i would just stick to the ponds in kilima, bahari, and your plot. they are glow worms at any time of day

Easier to get epic, but the Moray is a rare fish. And they mentioned in the patch notes "Stormray, Hypnotic Moray, and Enchanted Pupfish are less likely to appear" as an example of new odds, so I wanted to double check. Thank you for answer ^^

Like you pointed out yourself, some percentages have been changed

While the chance was roughly 5% to get one prior to the EW expansion, so far it seems to have dropped to below 4%
To be more specific, with 1k glowworms I was able to get 38 Hypno Morays, which comes out to roughly 3.8% across hotspot/non-hotspot catches

Waterlogged chests took by far the greatest hit, seemingly dropping to way below 2% with glowworms

That said, you were still unlucky not to get a single one if your sample size was 200

FWIW, these are my findings so far for glowworms:

I'm not a fan of the change myself since I'm also trying to complete the accomplishment

I think most people are having trouble fishing bc they do not let go of the reel when the brackets turn yellow and red. Only hold down to reel when the brackets are green and track your bobber, keep it in the brackets. You really don't need buffers to get the shark, just let off the reel.

The buffers can certainly help though, and increase safe zone size can make the bracket area wider/easier for tracking the bobber

If u want to save your glow worms, just let the fish jump and swim away if it's not a Goldie. Then, reel in and re-cast. You don't use a worm that way. But yes, it's an epic so the spawn rate is low. I can fish for hours in the ponds and only come up with 10 or so, it just takes time to get them.

The issue with the "mobile" approach is that you're less likely to have the 5x social fishing boost constantly, meaning you'll catch fewer fish overall
Like I said most people don't need to mind those statistics, it's just something for me to truly min-max beyond the scope of just "per cast"

But for the most part I meant grilling them, cause the weighting and juggling of starred fish can be a hassle if you have some in your chest you don't plan on using (yet)

You can work around that by having the specific fish in your inventory, but when you're trying to use non-starred fish with other starred ingredients, you need to make sure you don't have any starred in your storage
It's doable, but if you're holding, let's say, 100 bass for the bass recipe, you'd need to store them in your locked chest while cooking (similar to how you'd store bbs in there for cake parties if you don't plan on using your inventory to keep track)

Just have to keep going. Epics spawn about roughly every 50 to 75 casts, but that's not a guarantee, just an estimate. You don't have to catch every fish that jumps. Just let it jump, swim away, re-cast if it isn't the one u want.

If you leave the lure in the water, it's always gonna be the same fish cause the table doesn't reroll. If you want a different fish then the one you hooked, wait until it stops biting, reel out, then cast again. Then you might get a different fish

For some additional tips, making sure your focus bar is filled will make leveling quicker as well
Assuming you haven't done the shrines to completion it won't be double, but it's generally worth it to put your Renown into them roughly evenly

And the absolute fastest way would be to be in a party with someone who has an exquisite pick mining for you
Could be worth a try asking in chat when you're in Bahari/EW

Just to clear the ambiguity, I meant the original two shrines in Kilima, where you can boost your Focus limit and rate respectively

It is very much worth it to put renown into them until you're around 700/70% for focus limit and rate
After that it's personal preference whether you want to use Renown on other stuff before coming back to maxing it

The issue is moreso that new rocks (same with trees) only spawn in once others are despawned
If people only ever harvest the rare ores, they'll deplete over time and only restock plentiful when someone goes around and smashes everything in sight

This is most notable with flow trees where Kilima sometimes has comparable amounts to Bahari due to people harvesting trees en masse

They have their own nodes now. Similar to gold in Bahari. Gold is much easier to find for your weekly.

yeah silver in kilima, gold in bahari. u can use ore compass to track silver/gold but remember it will also track large stones and large copper/iron

Man, I really don't like the new fishing chances they introduced to replace the "use x bait" we had before. I been fishing with glow worms for a while, and out of the 69 fish I caught so far I only got 1 rare. 1! And 30 were common, and the rest uncommon. This is awful I want the old way back, at least then I knew what bait to use to get the fish I want. Now it doesn't matter and just makes me waste it on worthless fish

cuz if u dont and ur willing to spend medals on hooks u might aswell buy faster hooktime ones thats really usefull especially with picking up someone fished next to u 5x buff at blackmarket then u can go fish whereever its the true meta
but at least use trout diner if ur gonna want every buff XD

It's so bad. They could at least make it so the odds slowly get reversed the rarer the bait. So no worms would go, from more likely to less likely to catch: common, uncommon, rare, epic.
Worms: uncommon, common, rare, epic.
Glow worms: rare, epic, uncommon, common
That I would be on board with. As it stands, the odds remained the same and we just got screwed. Cause I used to get rares and epics a lot more often than I do now. And I already disliked fishing, ofc they had to make it worse

which tbh kidna would have made more sense since currently bait type increases value anyways

Now you don't need specific bait to get a fish, instead bait changes the odds of getting uncommon and rares

They said it was hard for them to work in (didn't say how) and that the new one makes it easier to inteoduce new fish. Which makes no sense to me cause the only difference is that before they had to choose wich fish would get which bait and now they don't

Yup. Idk if they messed up their odds by accident but they definetely didn't make it more likely for rares and epic to appear with glow worms

Evident how? The odds just suck now. When fish were separated by bait, odds of getting rare and epics was technically higher cause the pool of fish was smaller. Now all the fish are in the same pool, meaning it's a lot less likely to get rares and epics, simple as that. That's why it used to be common to fish a bunch of pupfish in a short amount of time and now we can barely get a single rare in an hour. They have some serious tuning to do with the odds to make them more like what they used to be

I just mean maybe the long term goal of the devs will become more apparent to us? Lol I'm not saying it'll be fun, but it'll also stretch the goal getting/longevity of certain goals, encourage more requesting/fishing parties etc. IDK, just a thought 🙂

The point of a game is to be fun though. Making fishing odds what they are now just makes people who already didn't like fishing like it even less cause it's harder now to get rare and epics despite what they claimed

I’ve pretty much always mained fishing; my input is I haven’t noticed it being any more difficult to catch rare fish really than previously

I mean, fishing is fun. Grinding is -never- fun. But getting something called "epic" in my opinion as a fairly sure thing is a short amount of time also makes the rarity of it seem kinda pointless.

To Breads point, I havent noticed a crazy difference either. But im also not hardcore farming for rares/epic
