as long as you're fishing at the right spot with the right bait there's really no tips, it's all luck

With respect to the unicorn fish, I dont' know what's been going on in Behari this week, granted I haven't really fished the coast in a long time as I preferred the cave, but I have picked up at least 7 starred Uni's and a couple of unstarred ones, this past week since the update and since I have started to fish the coast again. I use glow worms and I have not paid attention to 'time', but just fished. I usually start at the far end of Coral shore and fish the pools to the other end of Beachcomber and back again. Also, the rays have been biting, both in Behari and in the cave. On a side note, I fish a LOT- I'm nearing level 400- and I've noticed a big improvement this past week. I will also note that grilling the fish and selling a full haul can land you 13K plus with fish to spare to put in glow worm farms (get the harvest boost). I have used pretty much the fisherman's brew, fish stew, and minor and/or major rod strength hooks. If I see someone fishing I try to get a buff.

How’d you compare bahari coast and kilima lake? Do you find there are more hotspots in bahari?

i feel like they both make up to one another, the coast is simply more concentrated, wherease the lake hotspots are more spreadout, but you get more time to make up for it

however as i like to also do stuff the rest of the palia day, i prefer the coast, 30 minutes fishing and 30 minutes running around, tending crops and grabbing other supplies makes it more time efficient

yes, because the health bar depletes very quickly if you misclick with red brackets (for glow worm fish in hotspots).
and the epics move out of those brackets fast

no, there are always 8 palium nodes on the map at any one time. when one despawns another of the same size spawns elsewhere. if you want pal it's best to use an ore compass and focus on just mining palium (and large iron if you want to get the icons off your compass)

Did you notice that all the spots are turned on at the Bahari coast? I know we're hunting for insects, but it's a lot of fun catching stellar fish one after the other... It takes more than an hour to complete the entire coast and almost always at least one long nosed unicorn fish comes along 😃

What´s your favorite route to fish for makeshift chest?
I usally make my garden at 6am then go to Bahari Coast around the lighthouse until 6 pm, after that i go the pavel mine cave and run in between the cave and the fishing spots at flooded fortress during the night. Gives me also the opportunity to catch some vampire craps for silk.
I return home bit after 3am but before 6 am to fill the shipping bin.
Got lucky today, 2 new makeshift items and 12800 Gold is not bad for not even a full ingame day of fishing.

I know this has been a deffinate bonus! I've really noticed the improvement in fishing pools- more of them and spawn faster, allowing you to hunt them up and down the coast. A full loop and a half will net me about 15K profit- that's after grilling them and keeping two glow worm farms topped up with them. I have stopped using jam in glow worm farms and sell instead. The added benefit to grilling is that for those who do not like to cook in this game will still level up doing this- I usually run about 3 firepits and the bbq to get through a grill session/done fast. I wish we could place a fire pit down beside us while we fish lmao, or that there was a working firepit in Behari/Kilima akin to the repair station in Behari where we could grill.

There's no specific level you need to be it's all up to rng but, that one is one of the more difficult stones to obtain in game since it's an epic stone so it takes quite a while for most players.

@kindred birch Of course! I've found it's a very useful thing to know. Also, don't worry about reacting fast, if you miss the fish the first time and it goes down, just keep your cast in the water and the same fish will bite again, so I find it's helpful especially for ⭐ fish.

Is there any guide or particular pattern to the unicorn fish movement when reeling it? I'm getting so frustrated trying to get one for the bundle. I've hooked them at least half a dozen times now but I just can seem to reel it in.
In a surprising twist of dumb luck, I actually caught a star-quality one yesterday, but there is no way I'm giving that up to the temple. Yet, somehow, I can't seem to catch the regular quality even with all the buffs that I can 😢

Otherwise it's totally random - but it's an epic fish so you'll just have to keep casting until one bites

If you are low on glow worms you can let the initial fish you don't want "go" and then reel in after they've swam away. You will keep your glow worm and then you can cast out again

I'd say it's going to be faster for you to get the hotspots when you see them and fish normal when there aren't any. but also starred fish are harder to reel so it's also something to keep in mind, the regular version will be easier to get once it bites

How do the ore compass works? What shows up on the radar, is it just pal?

The ore compass shows a pickaxe icon on the compass at the top of your screen with tiny white arrows around that icon to indicate if the node is above or below, if there is no white arrow then you are on the same level as the node.
The ore compass shows large iron nodes and any size palium nodes.

Resources will respawn faster or will "randomize" again the more resources in the world are mined. Similar to how when trying to get a rare bug to spawn, people will capture the surrounding bugs to make space for the game to roll chances for another bug to spawn (hoping it's a rare bug). So it's good to break more stone, iron, palium to get more things to spawn.

I actually find that the fish stew makes it harder to reel in a unicorn. I need a slower pace to react to its movements. There is a pattern, you just have to get enough to figure it out. I also use the safe zone size booster. I have caught a lot of unicorn fish (I'm level 61 in fishing), and I still fail to reel in about 1 in 8. I generally fish in hot spots, so mine are all star unicorn fish, so I would suggest that. I've never caught an unstarred one.

Thank you, that's interesting about the stew, I may have to try without. I don't hook them often enough to study the pattern which is why I was wondering if a guide existed anywhere 🙃
For some fish it definitely helps knowing that, like the blue spotted ray, I used to always fail before, until I figured out that it just jitters in place a lot, so once I stopped being as reactionary to every little movement, I started catching them every time. I got lots of practice on them in between waiting for a unicorn to appear 😂
Just so frustrating when you go a whole hour without even seeing one and then to hook one just to lose it again

I'll preface this by saying that I've really gotten into fishing lately. I find it very relaxing. If I want a unicorn. I will fish from 6am-6pm game time for several real hours in hotspots. Most days (real life days), I catch one or more. The day before yesterday was bizarre because I got five in two 30 minute sessions of trying to get them. Then yesterday, I did the same thing and got zero.

I have the same experience. I think min-maxing and try-harding would destroy my game experience, so I try to not grind to hard for one thing. I tried very hard to get a ruby yesterday, but got a rainbow-tipped butterfly without specifically looking for it, as I relaxed my focus.

i think the gold per spot averages to the same or at least the xp does but u could check the wiki and sort by spot abit most important thing is u can get star spots easily without to much quicktravel costs oh and do the spots where u need a fish or ques tiems or recipe of first annywyas

i find that fishing in coast hotspots during the day is pretty good, there are a LOT of hotspots so it will take the least amount of time to get more starred fish. there's also uncommon, rare, and epic fishes that will be more expensive when sold
