Is there a way to completely remove any of the fertilizer in order to start fresh?
no but if i got al arge stack then i need to use elsewhere i just plamp one quality up down instead since at my lv i never have quality up plants anyways so it will clear hte next growhttick
Doesn't picking up (as in put it in your bag) an empty soil put all the fert on it in your inventory? Or am I misremembering?
u often cannot pick it up but someitmes u get fert in ur inventory
In the picure it's 4 x Beans and use it because can drop seeds in Elderwood.
But you have the choise to use Blueberry ; have low work (more ticks).
Beans create more profit when seeded, that's why I was asking.
It's not massively more profitable to seed anymore (it used to be before the nerf for seeds to need 2 Beans rather than 1), and it is a bit more crafter hungry (hence why I asked if it was to save crafter resources), but it is definitely more profitable overall
Oh ok , it's because the machines no have time to transform after ...
Want to preserve my inventory have no many garden produce.
To transform?
Transform : produce
I guess you mean you can't seed everything due to time pressures if you're seeding the beans?
Well, still, thanks for sharing the layout at least
all the 30 machines need to can produce / transform all the plants/fruits.
If not my inventory is fillig up.
How many hours are you playing each day?
Not to mention that you have to use the other machines for the fabric, etc...
So yeah, to reduce crafter pressures like I mentioned here
ty for answering
Anyone got info how much pink salt increases value of the food?
Hi update layout for less work
made my second layout and i love it!!!
the large plants are FULLY AFK. 4 apple trees, 2 blueberry bushes, and 2 bean plants.
i dont plan on harvesting the plants around them as I'll be using them for buffs. right now i have a 5 tree layout but i wanted to challenge myself to add in some other big plants and i did it!!!
harvest boost on the bean plants is optional but regardless theyre water retaining and weed-free 💅🏽
Obviously the carrots can be swapped out for onion or bokchoy as u see fit; and the wheat/rice/corn are also interchangeable
OH and beans can be swapped for more blueberries and vice versa
U want my 4apple 5blueberry one?
ill take a peek! i hope its not fertilizer reliant tho-- i still need that quality up fertilizer xD
Sooo how do you get your next farming plot after the first two you are given? ^^'
lv up then u can buy more at badruu or was it his cash register well anyways one of the two
It’s through him haha. Thank you!!! 🙏🏻
On the fertilizer per day is it that amount on every section marked? like for example to water retain is 13 for each spot everyday?
1 fertiliser for each tile marked per in-game day you are on for.
But you also get 1 day of growth after logging off
Okay, im sorry I dont want to over complicate this
buuuut its one per "marked tile" as in each plant or as in the tiles like all nine individual tiles in one soil section?
forgot to hit reply hehe
Might be misunderstanding what you're asking here so sorry if I am, but the number is per marked tile individually, like if you have something that uses up 4 tiles (beans, etc) then it takes 4 fertilizer for one day, apples take up 9 tiles so they use 9 per day, so 9 fertilizer showing on an apple tree is only 1 day worth of fertilizer, etc. and each single tile plant takes 1 fertilizer per day.
Do you have a layout you are looking at? It might be easiest to explain it based on that layout, then it's practical info too
The most recent layout shared in chat
OH
That's just asking for one fertilizer per day for each tile that needs it, totaling 13 per day over 13 tiles (for the water retain)
So each spot on that layout marked with the little water retain fertilizer icon just needs one per day
That needs 27 fertiliser per in-game day - 8 Harvest Boost, 13 Hydro Pro and 6 Weed Block
Easiest thing when it comes to fertiliser in layouts is to grab stacks of it and place 99 of the fertiliser on each tile that needs it. Any 2x2s will take 4 fert per click, one for each tile, and will use 4 fertiliser per day - again, 1 per tile. So 99 fert on a 1x1 crop lasts 4x as long as on a 2x2
My 5blueberrys 4apple layout does not need water retain or weedblock fert i just filled it in as fert
The 2x2 crops will actually allow you to go up to 100, at least, for an even 25 days. The rest only 99.
Its ment for only harvesting the big plants or manually doing the fert counted crops
okay thank you so much!
what's the best / most convenient food to make HB and worms? I'm considering not harvesting my non-apple crops ever again
I used my ranching byproduct surplus when I was still ranching. I had so much milk, eggs, honey and mushrooms that it was just the most convenient way to make space in my chest. I don't remember if all of those gave hb fert or not but at least some of it did iirc
Only honey doesn't
I wrote this on the subject of glow/worm farms the other day #🌱│gardening message
is starred wheat bugged? I can't plant it
try to reboot the game. mine works fine!
is there a bug with the hydro fert? my apples were taking so long to grow! i looked at it and there's still 18 fert there, then i watched it turn to 9 fert left the plot
when i came back after 5 mins it went back to 18 fert again!! i destroyed 8 trees coz of this...i had that fert since 2 days ago irl and i've been on for hours each log in since that time
To achieve 100% weed prevention and water retention without using fertiliser, is reducing the amount of wheat or rice planted the only option?
I’m just trying to figure the trick to seeding. Seems I have to be in just the right spot. Pc/linux/steam/keyboard
Does anyone have a crop layout with every crop with 100% water retain and weed prevention ?
With stared crops, does the star do anything to the area effects of the crops? Or is it just more valuable?
You can sell them for higher prices and also give you more chance to get starred food recipes with them or reserve
Ah, so the stars don't increase any effects of the different crops only their worth in gold and being processed or used in cooking?
If you mean the effect of watering and weeding autoamticly maybe the more advanced players can answer that for you
Hm, thank you for answering either way friend.
And I mean the effects like water retention, quality increase, weed prevention etc.
Are those improved by the star or is it just value?
Here's a compilation of most of mine. I think I may have shared a couple more since
#🌱│gardening message
Ahhh thank you so much!!!🫶🏼
U got 9 weeds it gives knapweeds timetravel bug
Ohh is that a thing? Newb wants to know too
Oh I see
I'm sure there are probably a few in here somewhere. I have multiple that have everything except for cotton, since I do a lot of cooking. Cotton is kind of useless past a certain level since it's actually better gold value to just buy cloth instead of making it (if you have the gold to do that), which is why a lot of people don't use it in their layouts.
Is it just the 9 plots of soil you can get? I am level 11 in gardening and havent been able to purchase more so just curious if I will end up able to get more or if 9 is the limit
9 plots of soil is the limit rn, yes
the hydro fert still gets used even if there are weeds
but this doesn't, it is not right, thanks for the reply anyway.
i've already replanted...will not do stacks with apples for a while...it was much faster to give me crops when i just water them manually than when i stacked
well if u run into that again and can provide more details context just a scrnshot of ur layout the way it is when it happens
we can always tell whats going on so keep us updated
Hello, I'm having a problem where I need non-star veggies for recipes but I'm mostly growing star quality. I've tried no fertiliser and separate plots. My garden level is 22
unfortunately my friend, your days of growing non-star quality crops is over. once you are at level 18-20 your going to grow star crops from star seeds, at level 38 you'll start getting star crops from non-star seeds as well. you can still use star crops in cooking, you just have to make sure you hit that box that says to use star quality ingredients. it will use your star crops that way. if you are worried about not having enough of the the other star quality items (like dari cloves) just put those star items in a lock box as they won't be used in there. the recipe will still work with a mix of star and non star ingredients
Ah that's good (and bad, lol) I was worried about not having enough star quality garlic and forage
Thank you for your kind message and explanations
welcome
You can also use fertiliser from the general store to make sure it’s got a star
Nope, general store fertilisers are Hydro Pro (water fertiliser) and Weed Block.
Quality Up can be crafted or gained from glow/worm farms.
Quality Up doesn't make sure it's got a star either - if you're still unable to use star seeds, it will make it highly likely but not guaranteed.
You can put starred forageable into your lockbox to save them for when you need them, and your recipes will just pull from your unstarred ones in your normal storage. It's a pain, but it's all we can do rn.
does the lunar anemone flower give sseds back when grown?
Yes
U can even “dupe” seeds by requesting the flower poeple can then send gully grown already given seeds and ul receive em as seeds for dome reason
Imagine 2poeple doing this
Then u fully grow seeds get seed+full grown flower
why is it that when i plant non star seeds when i pick them they end up being star ingredient after
i don't need more star wheats i just need non starred ones😭
depending on your gardening level, you stop getting non-star crops when using star seeds (around level 18-20), and you start getting star crops even from non-star seeds at level 38
25 but alot of poeple told me that before that its not really woth the bother to have quality up cuz ur like 90% star chance anyways
yeah, i think i started seeing nothing but star crops around level 18ish when using star seeds with like a blue moon non-star thrown in for good measure every so often
Any good LNY recipe crop layouts?
guys help a newbie to understand one thing please. cuz i didnt found any info on it by googling. I dont understand if neighbouring crop effects proc on 3x3 square of garden or on all of stacked 3x3 ones too?
Hey guys, new to the game. What's a relatively decent layout for preserves before you're able to get into apples? I've got 4 preserves jars and I hadn't learned about how to efficiently neighbor buffs
Larger plants need to border more of a crops bufftype to get buff
Apple border 3waterretains to get waterretain for example
Or share a full border with beans and a rice to get harvest boost
U can substitue caabage with tomatoes for example
Low lv benefit greatly from quality up and u need alot of fabric sooner or later so loom ur cottons ehile its still worth farming
Above message is layout i recommend
ye but i was stacking my 3x3s with different crops to check if effects are working (on a small ones too), not just apples or blueberries, and it seemed like it works only for one 3x3
thats why i came here, cuz i am not sure if it works as planner shows
Scrnshot so i got context
so, it looks like neigbours from other 3x3 do not buff different 3x3 or i just stupid or something
Ur doils dont seem connected properly on the third picture the carrot should get weedblock and the onion to
ye thats what i were saying. i cant connect them more, is like either they connect authomatically when you place em side by side, or they just not connected at all with grass between them
it is like that since i started gardening
so it is not fixed for like a week
even after a new patch came it didnt
Mh and moving the soils apart then back together dont cause rm to snap
Can also vheck with movegroup if stuff is properly connected
Alt select on pc
?_? Wth 3 of em is even visibly missaligned
Clearly a bug
i mean i moved it recently like that to show you on screenshot that buffs does not proc. it were a whole field before
and it is shown as one group still anyway, so it is not a causation
Did u try relogging/reentering ur plot?
Hi, i dont have apples yet but would like to try out this self watering layoput, any suggestions on how to replace these apples will keeping the whole thing self watering?
thats why i got pretty confuzed by guides for gurdening
i am using the planner to try some options, but im having trouble
actually nevermind- i see another layout in here i like better lol
I actually had this saved when I searched this section before asking, so you totally just reminded me. Thanks for helping me 2x 😛
Well its not supposed to glitch like that
Idk how to help srry
ye i get it, thanks for trying
Doed it ungroup if u place it comically far apart?
i guess my character is just a hideously bad at gardening lol
Pickup soils place back later?
i'll try to restart them ye idk. when all crops finish growing
too bad i have a freshly planted apple tree so it w'ont be soon heh
Yeay id say seperate that one for now if u have to getting another apple seed will be quiet hard
Do fully grown crops still apply their buff to the surrounding growing crops?
it did worked yes. after leaving it in the stash and placing after coming back to plot after farming
hell yeah
gj
i almost forgot to update on it xd was so happy it worked i gadhered first crops around appletree and ran to kilima for buying new seeds xD
and then realized i didnt took any screenshots lol
but ye planted new ones and made some screen to update on that glitch
Hello, why when i try to make a set with the garden layout creator, i cannot afford the 100% of water production?
Also set it to maximum and with any seed, i got at maximum like 86%
can you screen shot the layout, it'll help us help you figure it out
okay, give me one moment and let me look at it
okay, i was able to get it up to 96% water retained, just the section in the middle has two spots that would need water retain fert to get it 100%
so i swapped out one of the two cabbages in the top row for a potato (could put in a tomato if you need another one), center square moved the top bok choy down to under the apple tree on the left hand side where the wheat was, though typing that out just noticed i lost the harvest boost on said apple.... might use harvest boost fert to cover the loss if you have a good worm farm. then swapped out the middle potato on the center tile to get that water retained
what i sthe best result one can get while farming every crop in the game
what is a good garden layout? i just unlocked apples / blueberries and wanna start putting those into my farm aswell
Which are the best crops for profit?
Bok Choy, processed into kimchi
While dome are more per growthtick that comed at a cost of more effort or crafter time to proces so dont care too much about minmaxing it unles u want to tryhard
Ok thank you.
I'm watching in palia wiki, isn't better the napa kimchi?
bok choy wants to be turned into seeds, not preserved, and no, napa kimchi is worse gold wise than bok choy kimchi
Does anyone know what the best thing to feed the glow worm farm is that will both give a good amount of glow worms (I go through a lot and I’m running low on the fishing award coins now) but also puts out a good amount of harvest boost fertilizer?
Hey so now that I've gone through a full cycle of this, just a couple questions about the cotton/cabbage layout you shared.
The only starred seed I plant is Cotton right? And then when I harvest all the cotton, I convert both the regular + starred cotton into seeds, sell all normal seeds, reserve starred seeds + sell surplus.
And this layout is meant to just have a couple spare weed spots but that's alright, right?
U plant evetything starred(aside from the cotton there it font matter) i think
Cotton loomed for self use plus reseed seeds
Weed is ok u need weedwhacker achievement anyways i do have one with every buff but its more complicated
Some stuff is better jarred for money
Ok thank you
What do you think about this layout? (first i try to create by myself)
What could i change/work on?
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-BkTBkTPTBkTBk-BkTBkTPTBkTBk-BkTBkTPTBkTBk-RCbRCbPCbBkCbR-AAAAAAAAA-RCbRCbPCbRCbBk-RCoBtCbTBtCoPR-BtCbSBtPSTCbT-SCoRSTCbRPCo
Hiiiii!
I see many layouts with apple tree, does anyone recommend one without ?🥰
yeay we also have some without
poeple like apples cuz lazy
used in some cooking partys alot
and for lures
how can i get an aplee tree? im a newbie ehehehe
lv up and ul get one see din the mail i think
if u somehow passed that lv and dont have one ur gonna have a hard time getting another
Grinding 😭 basically do quests for villagers...
they changed it that leveling gets u first seeds
in ur mail
Oh!! My bad xD
all good cant blame anyone for missin gthat
Grilled fish
Hmm... Pumpkins take up four squares but only yield three. That's not worth it. Even if I plant more, it'll cut into the space for other crops...
They are the most antimeta crop
This was my pre-apple tree layout
nowadays we do got better ones though so feel free to ask if u need something specific
I was mad tired of tomatoes and potatoes for a while 😄 You can also switch the rice/cotton for other grains/plants you need.
Now I'm using this but I'm so frustrated by weeds. I feel like I get so many more now then I did before
u want one with full hb water retain and weedblokc but less blueberrys?
show me, please 😄
2 apples or 1
for 2 i have tro make new one
whatever you have is fine, I don't want you to have to work for me 😄
huh what i just made it
Okay!
oh thats so smart. Thank you!
let me know if u need something better
Hey! Am i doing something wrong or is the rate of gardening XP even with filled focus bar really bad? Like, ive been playing since July last year and im level 23....
Depends on how many growthticks u get in
But its slower to skill then other skills
I don’t know what that is lol
But still, seems a bit off to me
Its lower cuz waittimes unlike other skills that u can grind nonstop
Growthtick when crops grow
0600 palian when online and one time after
So don’t harvest every Palia day?
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-TOWPCRTOW-TOWPCRTOW-TOTPCPTOT-PCRTOWPCR-PCRTOWPCR-PCPTOTPCP-TOWPCRTOW-TOWPCRTOW-TOTPCPTOT
i'm a new player and i'm trying this layout because it gives 100% water, 100% weed, and sneaks in some harvest boost, while using only single tile crops
If you want to level, make sure your focus is full before harvesting and harvest as soon as things are ready and replant. They're just saying that if feels slower because you can't grind it out like say mining.. you have to wait for things to grow. Different plants also give more/less xp. Tomatoes are very low per harvest (around 19pts) but you get to harvest them multiple times, so it adds up. On average the longer something takes to grow the more xp you get.
I've been playing since mid December and I just hit 25 gardening while I was typing this up, its actually one of my higher skills 😛
is there a benefit to getting beyond 25 gardening? and would bok choy be good for xp because it matures in just 3 days
If you don't enjoy gardening/cooking there's really no reason to do it, regardless of your level.
looking for the best farm layout for every crop that has water retention and weed blocking. something i dont need to tend to daily
Nope cuz sll plants need more then one growthtick to grow but it could end up domething is harvestable every day
Not bad
All crops give the same xp per tile per growthtick aslong as u keep em growing
Higher star chance on unstarred seeds and 10medals per lvup
For xp see above message
We got many il send u one
@floral talon Hello! what do you think about this one i just made?
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.4_D-111-111-111_CR-OTWCPOBkTCo-CoTCBkCbCoCTBk-BkTOCPCOTBk-WCBkTCbTOCBk-AAAAAAAAA-BkCOTCbTBkCR-BkTCoCPOOTW-CTBkBkCbCoCoTC-OTBkCPCBkTO
I'm trying to make something for: money, with bok choy, but also get the basic things for cotton and for cooking/animals
Its low on qualityup and hb though while being very complicated
Do u know when growing cotton is worth it? (Or do u love growing em no matter what)
I just added it for who needs fabric
Its usually more profitable to grow something else proces and buy fabric ftom tishes register if u dont need cottons quality up buff
And that simpliefies layouts/makes it easier to max out the other 3buffs
ehmm that is right.
Didn't think about that
Can someone share an early game farm layout please. Gardening is only level 4 atm.
sure early is without weedblock though and with water retain harvest boost and quality up
I dont care about water and weeds tbh xD but ty
wanna see a really funny low lv layout?
For sure. I'll take whatever layout ideas.
its really ocmplicated and needs almost constant replanting making it less good for beginners or anyone really
at lv 25 u can for sure ditch cotton in ur layouts
@floral talon hi, for curiosity.
How do you always remember the layout?
Some of them are really, difficult to remember, with no pattern or smth.
So, tips?
I thought to get all the seeds, then when i go to gran, i already select the relative seed, but its still long
i keep a ss of this until I can remember it 😄
Hi has anyone found a work around yet for the constant starred wheat? No matter what I do, I cannot grow any unstarred wheat. I cleared my entire garden bed and only planted unstarred wheat that I got from zeki's. I need it for recipes because I don't want to keep having to use starred main ingredients like forage only ones or fish.
I currently cannot grow any regular quality crops at all. Only starred. Quite frustrating as I don't always want to cook a star quality dish, sometimes I want to do a regular quality dish. And I don't want to grow all star quality cotton as I need it for making fabric so using starred cotton is a waste. So yeah if anyone knows a workaround for this please share 😭
Star quality separation ends up being such a source of frustration, as you have the ingredients right there, but because the quantity isn't enough, you simply can't make a thing. It makes me put most star quality ingredients in the shipping bin tbh, may not be the best usage but I'm a relatively new player 😅
My main issue right now is that my partner is still very new to the game and still has a low focus bar capacity as well as mostly regular quality crops. So we really can't cook recipes together because I only have star crops and they mostly have regular quality, and if we do a starred dish it's likely to be too much focus for their current capacity
You can buy all the nonstar versions from Badruu's market register
Yeaahhhhhh I'm not doing that.
huge waste of gold in my opinion
I guess it depends on what you're cooking 😄 I usually have to stock up on nonstar rice for maw sashimi parties
and that gives me enough money to buy nonstar other things to share/help my friends
Basically it seems once you hit star quality every time you grow something… you have to go in-game grocery shopping if you want to use unstarred stuff again..
Yeah I guess it would make more sense in a situation like that. We're mostly cooking for focus food
Since higher level gardening makes it more likely your nonstar seeds will produce star quality produce anyway I don't think there's any other way around it
Hmm maybe go and play the heck out of hot pot for the lunar new year event? I got loads of food from that 😅
I already have. I go through a full focus bar like once every 15-30 minutes while playing so whatever food i got from hotpot was gone extremely fast
my friends just kept making stacks of bean burgers with me and some of the focus power was wasted until I leveled enough to use them all
But I just loaded up on starred canned beans
I don't know how to can beans yet, I'm just self reporting as a hot pot addict
Is there a recipe? I haven't seen/found one yet
its made in the Preserves Jar
Yes there is, I feel like I recall getting it from picking up the batterfly beans in the elderwood
Ah is that Reth or something to do with glass smelting?
No, from Badruu
You'll have to get your gardening up high enough to unlock the recipe for the Preserving Jar from him
Gardening Level 8
Ah I'm probably still a bit away then
Gardening comes pretty quick if you stick with it. Its one of the 4 skills I've gotten over 25 so far
Being able to log in multiple times a day (or being on all the time) helps so you can keep things hoed, watered and weeded.
When you unlock the glow worm farm, I recommend slapping 3 of them down on your plot and filling them up with meat, mushrooms or even food like congee. That way you can get a ton of harvest boost fertilizer which increases your yield
Nice, I have glow worms because fishing early game basically paid for my house extension 😆
That and Einar had to be my friend
second scrn discord private server channel with layout also i make alot of layouts so even if i forget it can just redesign one in 2min
no
u dont need starred foragables to cook wiht starred produce
I'm so in love with the Lunar anemone flowers. They're ||purple during the day but glow at night|| and it's so stunning
oh my phoenix so thats why they keep having a different color then i remember and here i thoguht i was going crazy
you mean remembering the layout u have planted in ur garden? if yes then i just put all the seeds i need into inventory and then harvest them by group. harvest all onion, replant onion, etc. this way u dont mess up what was where. all that u memorize is types of seeds if u wanna alternate them such as rice and wheat both boosting harvest
I appreciate the reply but if the starter item is a foragable one like spice or garlic, I dont want to use my starred ones. But it forces you to if you dont have unstarred crops 🙁
Yeah, i'm confused on that as well.. a lot of guides imply that if you check the 'star' box for a meal, people can choose to use star or unstarred items but if you don't check it people can only use regular items. I've never seen that option while making the dish. Perhaps I'm missing something?
unles u lokcbox em or run out
game is just weird and we send dozens of feedbacks tomake it more user friendly
I dont have any that's my point 🙁 I can't grow any unstarred crops anymore like wheat, cotton and tomato. I just dont want to go buy them every time. Hoping there was a trick but from the other replies it looks like that is a common issue
no i mean if u dont want to use a starred foragable u can lock box it so it will pull unstarred
ticking the box to use starred items will mean it will default to using starred ingredients if they're available, otherwise it will just use unstarred.
not ticking it means you can't use starred ingredients, it will only take unstarred.
and yes its weird that u cant farm unstarred produce at all at some point though for many fo us its no problem
forgetting the allow starred checkbox or wanting to gift a produce however ....
but if I have star and regular onions and someone ticks star on the recipe it doesn't let me pick regular onions
then put hte starred in ur lockbox
correct, it will take your starred onions first. as DuhScape mentioned, you'd have to put them in your lockbox if you don't want to use the starred ones
I understand there are workarounds, but lockbox space is too small for that to be reliable. In many cooking party situation you need hundreds of ingredients and lockbox space is so tiny

I'm aware of how to submit feedback, ty.
its intended that way and noone knows why they would design it so awfully
I hope this is an example cuz why would u not want to use starred produce(more chance at starred dish compared to unstarred produce ) so more value for the same cooking effort
Unles u like previously had to many unstarred and wanna ditch em as overprep but i recommend using em as cheaper seeds then starred seeds instead till u tun out
Hi everyone!
I love gardening and would like to do some proper gold because pocket are empty (came back a few days ago and ranching is so costly ough) and I don't wanna do cake party. I'd like your opinion, do you think this layout will be good or can I do better maybe? I like to keep it simple without too much different crops, with an afk layout allowing me to do other things when in game.
Hi, question: I've putted 4 times quality fertilizer on same plants (wheat is this case, because it has 4th growth days), so higher chane of quality product? of is 1 enough in this example to have the same chance
pls help me
It uses one per groethtick so 4 is tge way to insta put it down
With?
I haven't unlocked apples yet but I'm looking forward to upgrading my garden to this when I can.
Its the ultymate lazy layout xd
But not really for low levels
I'm such a lazy farmer. I sold my Pekis rather than see them suffer from neglect
I put mine on a diet and forgot they exist
Other poeple stop starving em
Me they on a diet
How long does it take tomatoes to grow and then how often do you get to harvest them? Are those the best things to preserve? (I know apple and blueberries are better, but I'm not there yet)
Tomatoes 4 2 2 2 total 10growthtick for harvests
Everything is balanced want more gold out of ur gardrn its gonns be more work so nothing is best
I think my garden is broken lol.. I planted all this and watered it yesterday lunch time (28 hours ago) and its only grown weeds, nothings got to their next stage
crops grow at palian 0600 when online and one time after
ive been on since then lol at my plot for multiple palia days
there is a bug that when u get 9 total weed son all ur soils combined the game cant save the growth progres properly
Ah that might be it! rthank you!
we do have uber afk layouts that keep this in mind
Do you have any recomendations for one, thats max xp? or best for xp?
all corops are hte same xp per tile per growhttick if u fully grow em
so ti mostly depends on when u check back
the afk 6 apples one or the 5 blueberrys 4 apples would be best for u depending on how much u want to afk it
I dont mind afk'ing I am online a lot
^this one is for when u go long intervals in between bothering to harvest
like when afking or doing lots of other stuff or forgetting to check as the slow growing plants that take up alot of ur space keep growing then
thank you!!
this oen matching ur needs?

I'm having a hard time finding an updated list of the best gold value for each crop. Raw, preserved, or seeded. Not really looking to use worm farms, but knowing their product value wouldn't hurt. Does anyone here have or know of a good list?
That hasn't really changed. Since EW launch added Beans and Pumpkins, there was a nerf to Beans (2 Beans rather than 1 per seed). That was quite a while ago now.
#🌱│gardening message is a popular resource (links to a reddit post with some charts, I prefer the 2nd image there).
I have a little table at the bottom of this post which shows the ranking of things when processed (accounting for the cost of making seeds to replant). Only raw crop in this table is Bok Choy though, as everything else just falls off the bottom of the chart. #🌱│gardening message
Thank you so much! That is extremely helpful.
I need to level my gardening but I feel like everything I plant is slow. Is there a better crop to plant that’s quicker to increase skill level?
Gardening just takes time. The more you are able to log in and cycle it during the day the better, but all crops give the same amount of xp per growth tick.. because of their differnent grow rates/ multiple harvests it feels different, but its not.
Ih fantastic! Thank you. I usually spend a good five or so hours on a day and try to make it back throughout the cycle to water and such
Then you'll hit your goals in no time 🙂
Some notes on levelling here too #🌱│gardening message
I don't have all the good links memorized yet, just the knowledge I've absorbed from all you wonderful people
Me neither, I just searched for posts of mine with 'exp per tile' as I knew I had answered this before
It's more just knowing what to search for really 😄
Fair point, esp. if you've answered the question a hundred times before 😛
Maybe not 100 times haha
I put 62 tomatoes in my preserves jars & they are completely empty today. Anyone have any issues with their produce going missing like this?
I know I didn't grab it accidentally. I put everything in at night and grab it all in the morning, everything else was there waiting for me like normal except for all my pickled tomatoes. ;3;
Hello! Who the boychok/napa jars are profitable?
I changed my garden to be always watered, but putting almost all the boy/napa in the preserve jar i make like 2-3k in 1 day (irl).
Is it "normal"?
Bokchoi is better seeded if enuf crafter time
how do you get ur garden to be always watered
https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/
People use this site to make layouts. You can choose water retaining crops like tomatoes, potatoes and cabbage and arrange them in such a way that your layout will have 100% water retention
I personally prioritize harvest boost myself, since I don't mind going back and watering twice per in-game day
(You can also use the water retaining fertilizer)
U can have both buffs let us know if u want help with that or not
jes please
What ya needing?
I don't suppose you're allowed to have 9 pieces of soil per housing plot, are you..?
oh I guess you can't even buy more than 9. nvm 🤭
Hi, recall and reworked description of a very nice layout
Hello,I'm a newbie(im sorry) and i want to know what is the best layout for gardening
it highly dependson the player buyt lower levels its whatever has harvest boost water retain and quality up maxed
What are those little icons above the vegetable icons?
what buffs they have
How can I remove seeds from the ground if I planted them by mistake?
rclick with a hoe idk the button if on not pc
THANK YOU,THANK YOU❤️ ❤️ ❤️
cotton should be loomed for self use
potatos seeded
other stuff in that layout jar it if it can be rice seeds
I am struggling to get the garden layout generator to do what I want it to..
Does anyone have a garden layout that includes at least one of every crop that has some semblance of harvest boost?
so u struggled to make aeveryhting layout ic ic
yeay we got tons il grab the simplest one for ya
u could also have less 2x2 crops by alternating them like row a pepper then grow a pump in its spot
would reduce the fertiliser usage by alot
Thats much better than what I was coming up with. Thank you so much!
what would u guys say is the best way to make worms?
Realtime
Regular or glow?
Grill exces fish do select to not grill maws
Exces milkeggs other ranching stuff
Exces meats and foragables
Bit late but I have a bunch of mine listed here
#🌱│gardening message
Thank you.
has anyone played around with worm farm (regular) numbers? i saw some reddit chart that said higher gold input value item = higher fertilizer and worm output. but then it had a bunch of different numbers for 'gold profit'. all the profit numbers seemed to be low, between 15-29 gold per unit processed (mountain morel, pickled corn). my concern is if i spend the time to put in pickled food, the amount of fertilizer i get out won't break even if i use it for its harvest boost effect. or if it is slightly profitable, then it's still not worth all the time/energy of extra processing step just to get some minimal gain of harvest boosting a few cheap crops.
it rounds it to 25 then to 75 etc with a minimum
thanks. i dunno what that means, but ty. my takeaway is you probably get a bunch of fertilizer, like 40+? for putting in a pickled item into a regular worm farm. and so it's probably worth it. harvest boosting 40 tiles (of bok choy, for example), is probably worth the cost of 1 pickled item.
when i looked at the preserve jars, all the process times were adjusted to be 80% of the gold value. so they 'normalized' the gold per minute of every preserve.
seems like anything you put into preserves jars becomes 1.5x value.
and the time it takes to process is scaled to that value (so if you were preserve-jar-constrained, you can't gain efficiency by focusing on one particular crop. they all end up being the same gold per minute via jars) ?
wormers work like this u get
x (glow)worms per x gold roundede up to a minimum and then rounded to a full value so like 1 gold item gets u 1 worm and 25 gets u 1 worm to but 50 then gets rounded up into 2 or somehting
and same logic for fert but thats the same on both wormers
i dont remember exact values
'minimal gain of harvest boosting a few cheap crops'
Harvest boost is a rather high 50% boost to yield when it activates. Best case scenario is 3 Harvest Boost fertiliser (15g) gets you 1 extra Bok Choy per growth cycle, which is worth 88g when seeded. That's a profit of 73g which is pretty substantial (almost 25g profit per fertiliser). Worst case scenario is probably around half that profit.
I would say it's always worthwhile having harvest boost present on crops, but that doesn't mean you have to use fertiliser.
Rice, Wheat, Corn, Beans, Blueberries and Apples all give the harvest boost buff to adjacent crops
Hello! I keep seeing videoes of people with more than 4 plots for their crops…how do I increase my number? The shop tells me I’m at my limit of 4
You can get up to 9 plots from Badruu. Are you at gardening level 10? If so you should be able to buy all 9 plots. If you still can't, and restarting your game client hasn't fixed it, you may need to submit a support ticket
!support
Here's a link to the Player Support: http://support.palia.com/
Oh ok! Thank you!
both ahahha
perfect ty !
I dunno if it's just me but I don't see much benefit in worrying about gold per minute, because the processing continues when you are offline. I fill up my preserve jars as much as I can before logging off, and my worm farms too, and often come back to them all finished. If you have a bottleneck like only having one farm or jar, then it makes sense to help you pick what to put in it I suppose. Especially if you need the fert or worms to use
ya i heard something about players only getting '1 offline tick' so i got worried because i usually only log on once or twice a day, which means my crops don't really grow much
Which is why i use the per growthtick option in the layoutsmaker calc
I love using starred pumpkins, lots of worms and lots of fertilizer!
Thats honestly the most antimeta way but who am i to stop u from having fun
Its remarks like this that keep me from even wanting to engage in this server
the question was about hte best method but go farm pumpkins
It’s all about personal preference for some, that’s just my preference but a snarky and rude response wasn’t even needed
do keep in mind that most people that come into this channel are looking for ways to make the most gold from there gardening. pumpkins are the worst crop for gold, so we never recommend them unless you are doing an everything layout
ok then u use pumpkins that is fine
I think we also have to keep in mind that manners/choice of words matter and to avoid using words that can offend someone that’s just trying to engage
Here I am with a whole nine plots full of rice. So I can make congee… which is time consuming for sure
how hsould i have said it then?
i appreciate all answers still ! ty guys
i saw a video on using mushrooms to make glow worms and have some nice afk gold
ill keep experimenting with other crops for this reason
AFK gold?
I mean glow worms Sell for like 25G each I think you get like 1 for each mushroom and mushrooms are easy to find and take up little focus.
how to get water retain and weed preventation? and what fertilizer to use?
with the water retain / weedblock fertiliser
or with cabbage potato tomato for water retian buffs from plants
bokchoi carrot onion for weedbvlock buff
I’m not sure if anyone else has said this before but I think sunflowers of any color from yellow- to red (Some types are even green :0)🌻 would make a great addition to the game. Especially the green ones because from what I’ve seen anyway we don’t have a whole lot of flowers with green petals (not leaves) what do you guys think?
I would love some version of sunflowers!
I mean sunflowers are one of the most iconic flowers so why not
Has anyone put their house and garden on separate plots?
Wish me luck i think this gonna be my new layout. The rice can be replaced with any other single space crop as I need them or run low. But I have 100% water retain, almost all harvest boost minus the 4 corners which is fine cause its for crops i need for cooking, and its symmetrical! Very satisfying.
Im also over level 25 which means all my crops are starred so I dont need quality boost and Idc about weeds because I can sell them 🙂
👍 solid
Is there a good layout without pumpkin and tree ?
@cedar rock look at the middle square of the layout I made. Tomatoes, potatoes, and either wheat or rice in that layout will give you 100% water retain and harvest boost. No trees or pumpkins.
So I just repeat that square ?🥰
Sry I’m newbie hahaha
Tyyyyy❤️
@cedar rock yes repeat the square all 9 times if you want to 🙂
You will make lots of money by processing the tomatoes and potatoes into jams/pickles
This is what you'd get if you did this layout
I misspoke about harvest boost. You'll get 100% harvest on the potatoes and tomatoes but not the wheat/rice.
But you cant really process the wheat and rice into anything anyway. Mostly used for cooking. You could replace wheat and rice with corn instead in order to get a crop you can process and make more money i believe
Tyyy really ❤️
hello, looking for a farm layout for my alt that is mostly geared towards making gold from preserving and seeds, but has enough beans to keep my ranch fed with bean preserves, does anyone know a layout close to that?
Pretty sure the one im doing is geared toward that just make all the blueberry bushes beans
Rice can be whatever crop you want pretty much
@rotund chasm
thank you!
how exactly does fertilizer work?
does it matter if i put like 100 on one square
does it last or it resets per ingame day
Nope! It wont reset. Say you put 8 down, it will last 8 in game day cycles/growth ticks.
That is just for single space crops though. For things like blueberries, pumpkin, pepper, and beans that takes 4 fert for 1 day. So you'd have to out x4 however many day cycles you want it to last. Same for goes for apples that use 9 for 1 cycle
@pastel meadow
ohh okay thank you!!
Because I couldn't see to garden at night.
Love the light but hate the lighting lol. Are there alternate lamps that we can use that are more cottage core vibes? Spot lights are not my thing
@carmine latch I couldn't find anything that worked at a distance except the spotlights. I've been trying to think of ways to hide them without blocking the light source. Maybe I can tint them grey to make them a bit less glaringly obvious.
ahhhhh I had no idea this app existed so ty for posting!! crop sudoku almost
@devout fossil ah well good luck! Hopefully they add brighter lighting options in the future for outdoor lights 🙂
@mint shuttle there are lots of useful apps in the pinned messages of all the channels here 🙂
@carmine latch as an update, I'm playing with the ceiling light attached to the bottom of a builder's wood floor piece. It works best on the corner and gives less light overall, but more of a cottage look.
@devout fossil awesome! Do send pics later in the decor channel as well as whatever glitching techniques you had to use 🙂
I will, I'm going to play with the concept a bit to balance aesthetics and function.
just an idea but you could use the pillar in a tree method. you place a seed of a tree down where you want your pillar and then put a pillar on top, the tree will grow over the pillar allowing you to clip things onto the pillar that look like they are on the tree. There are videos of this method as well that you can look up. But the idea is that the canopy could hide the lighting, especially if you dont fully grow the tree to make it slightly shorter. Just an idea though
Hello, which ones crops/veggies/fruit i cannot buy at any shop (like tomatoes or pumpkin that i could buy at the farm shop on kilima ovest map)?
So in order to obtain i only have to put them in the garden?
Here's a list of all the crops you can buy at the farm shop. So it looks like everything except blueberries, apples & spicy peppers
I spent ages getting pumpkins the old fashioned way (grinding essence for seeds) for a quest and I could have bought them!? 😭
yeah, i think they were added the patch after the release of elderwood to badruu's store
I know, I did that too 😭 rip my 500 essence
when i had to use the pumpkins for missions, someone told me to buy 1 at the shop and convert to seed instead of buying with essence xd
Thank u
that would have been the way to do it for sure!
Yeah i edited my layout, adding 1 pepper and 1 bluebarry, so i can get them if needed
@keen phoenix I like that idea! It will work great in other areas of the plot for sure, the challenge I'm facing is having all my garden plots together, to benefit from mixing them up (so 3x3 layout) whilst trying to fully light the area in order to actually see the plots at night. Oh, and be able to use something other than the spotlights which work well but are less than pleasing to see in the garden. Right now I'm working with two pillars stacked, topped with a wood floor. Then mounting ceiling lights under the floor. The Elderwood version looks cool, but the light quality is so-so. The Harvest/Kilima one works better. Sadly the spotlights still work best.
Personally, I think the spotlights gave the best light without hurting my brain 😄 But it's really whatever works best for you to be able to see. I work strictly by moonlight and have no issues. 😛
Every time my partner makes a stupid cheesy pun or joke now I say "ok Badruu"
In everyone's opinion, what is the best layout for both money but also getting the most common ingredients ?
That’s what I did when I first started and bug hunting too.
What is the purpose of bug hunting? beside catching bugs
While this is gardening channel
Plushies money doing partys together essence farming silk
Decoring yhe srarred ones ,tints crafting
U wanna eat the crops?
Buffs u want depends on lv
Something with every1tile 1hb 2x2 and 1qu 2x2 and 1apple u can alternate same buffs 2x2s
Cant send layouts atm
The purpose of bug hunting is to be honest I don’t know. I do it to make money fast and level the skill up too.
Sorry for posting on gardening channel
its alright ❤️
finally did some researching into best plot layouts and im trying this one. first full garden ever. i havent given it much of my attention before, but i hear it's a good money maker, soooo... lesshoe. punintentional.
You need one unit of fertilizer per in-game day to get the full boost, if you fertilize it only part of the time it'll get only part of the bonus effects. So for example, if you have a harvest boost fertilizer and apply 4 units of it on a plant that takes 5 days to grow, you'll get a 4/5th chance of getting the extra plant. If you have the watering fertilizer, it'll consume one and water that field each day at 6AM in-game. Does that help?
I never thought of selling the seeds over product!
Does anyone have a good setup for cotton and wheat harvesting?
depending on your gardening level (below level 18ish) we normally don't recommend cotton as a crop as not only is the buff not helpful after level 18, but you can also make more gold from other crops and buy the fabric that you would need. if you are set on getting cotton for self use, then probably any beginner layout that has it would be useful
Hi! Does anyone know if the green fertilizer function the same as the brown quality fertilizer?
How long does the hydro pro ( water) fertilizer last?
Here you can read about the different fertilizers 🙂
https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Fertilizer
Fertilizer is a category of item in Palia that apply various boosts to crop growth.
Fertilizers are part of the Gardening skill, and are used to improve various aspects of the plants you grow.
Each farming square can have one type fertilizer applied at a time, but you can stack up to 99 fertilizers of...
It very much depends on how much you play. You get garden growth when online and once after you log off.
Crafters keep running all the time (as long as they have stuff to process and space in the output).
So the less you play each day, the less crafters you need to keep up.
If you have the crafter slots, getting more seeders or preserve jars is an easy option.
You don't produce a lot there, there's a tiny bit of harvest boost fertiliser present but no HB crops. And only 4 soil plots worth of crops that you shared.
I strongly doubt you won't be able to process that all.
Quickest processing is preserve the potatoes, seed the tomatoes and it doesn't matter for cabbage.
Most profit is seed the potatoes, preserve the tomatoes and again, for cabbage it doesn't matter
Thank you so much!!☺️
does harvest boost fertiliser bonus stack with the adjacency harvest boost bonus of some crops? like will I get +100% yield if I have a the bonus of, say, corn, and the fertiliser
No, it doesn't. Your hb fertilizer will sit untouched if your crop already gets hb from an adjacent crop
I see thank you
in a similar vein, can I add more than 1 fertiliser to the same tile? like if I add 5 water fertilisers to a potato crop (which harvests in 5 days), will it just be ready to harvest if I don't check on it for 5 in-game days (assuming no weeds mess with it)
You can stack up to 99 of 1 type of fertilizer per tile, yes
waos nice, thanks
best layout for a level 22?
Mh u could chose to stop caring about quality up at that point or hardcore some cotton till 25
And best for what?
<@&1216796663071637585>
hi, is it a bug that some crops are not watered after watering everything manually? which ends up in collecting crops with a few ones still needing to water them :/
I came back to the game after around 1 year and I don't remember this happening before
they unwater if no water retain a weed on em if harvestable for a tick or u hhave 9 weeds total u get soome weird bug
Hello am I suppose to buy more crops plot? I have crop plot 3 currently and not sure if I am suppose to get more if I want to level up my gardening to 8 and 10 so I can get jam thanks in advance!!
U can buy more at certain lvs 9 tops do get em
Okay thanks! It was slow pain crop work when I want to level up bit faster 😂
i planted some apple trees to be able to make jelly to feed my glow worm farms, but i'm wondering if you have have found other/better options that don't take up 3 or more plots?
the 9 plot limit is really cramping my vibe lol
U want a layout? Or suggestion on what to worm?
leaning more towards suggestions on what to worm
i've seen the charts on the wiki, but i'm more curious about folks' preferences for their chosen crops for efficiency
Exces meats foragables and ranching eggs/milk
grilled exces fish do select to not lose ur maws
The higher gold yield per growthtick stuff is more efgort and takes more craftertime to proces so most poeple prefer lazier stuff
yeah i'm interested in the lazier stuff lol
sorry what does the second part of this mean? grilled excess fish and then i don't understand the rest
select the fish u grill manually or u might lose ur super valueble ones
how lazy? max lazy?
what you shared was helpful, thank you!
max lazy is up there XD
Best layout to have ALL the gardening items and still have. Good money??
Like I want to be able to have all ingredients but still have a maximized layout that can get me money too
U may have to change some of the same buff type crops for higher money ones i chose these on being ez to tell apart
Thank you!
Is there a recommendation for number of apple trees to have? It seems you can't really get rid of them or replant them.
You need to water them everyday. It takes 12 days for them to fully grow then every 6 days they will give another harvest. You will get 4 full harvest from them before the tree Fully disappears.
Oh they disappear eventually?
I personally like having 3-5 trees because it still leaves plently of room for more crops but thats just me
Yes they will go away after the 4th harvest but you have to water them everyday till then
This is True of all plants with Multiple Harvest so The Rockhopper Pumpkins, Tomato, Batterfly Beans, Peppers, Blueberries, and Apples all vanish after 4 harvest but you still have to water and weed them till the last harvest where they vanish.
Hi sharing here a very good garden for les work
Not knocking your plan, but this always makes me laugh, like make up your mind 😄
i mean guy can somehow make a counter for fert but not the add total cost of it XD
sup[er complicated layout planner hting but the simple part somehow not
Yeah, it just always makes me giggle 😛
Does soil count towards your 30 max crafter limit?
Thanks for the reply. They showed up on the crafters page so I was unclear.
Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked, but can anyone point me to an up to date list on which foods I should pickle and which I should make seeds of, for profit?
I think it depends on if you have the time to wait or if you want you're money fast. Apples for example are about 1,000 for Star quality seeds and 10 jams are about 1,400 but the seeds take 3 hours where the jams take a little over 12.
Ideally you would be making some seeds out of your harvest to save money on buying more but thats just me.
I don't really care about time since I often just login once a day, do my stuff, then come back and sell the stuff the next day
I do make some seeds for replanting though
Then I would say Jam Apples for money then.
I like having all foods so that I have everything for cooking, so I'm not worried about which food specifically makes the most. It's just that I have excess of every produce and was wondering if there's any list for whether to pickle or seed for each one.
Found a list! https://palia.wiki.gg/wiki/Template:List/Crops_Money
- Value is the best sell option. Example: 10 Star Quality Apples would be better turned into Jam, than turning into 1 Star Quality Apple Seed.
Note: This table does not include harvesting quantities. Amount varies by plant and by growth treatment.
Seed - Bok Choy, Potatoes, Rice, Wheat, Beans, Cotton
Preserve - everything else
Thank you both!
Nah cotton is loom for self use and stop growing once lv25 or abit earlier
If it's starred cotton though the loom will actually make you lose money since starred fabric isn't a thing
But it prevents u from having to buy fabric which would cost u more
But yes its a want money now and pay more later thing
I really like the canned beans for focus food and gardening. Also good sell crop. I know there may be better
can anyone help me out with gardening placement? like sometimes i cant place things, like you have to be a certain distance away from anything else already in the ground and its almost impossible to fill up all the rows because of this
That doesn't sound right at all.. what device are you playing on?
does anyone have a map for planting all crop efficiently? tysm in advance
Hello everyone! May your apples be crisp and your carrots crunchy

I hope your pillow is always cold and there's always an extra roll of toilet paper nearby when you run out
Check out this website: https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/
You can also try scrolling or searching in this channel for specific layout ideas, but I personally enjoy playing in the garden planner to make something that works for my specific needs
I really like the beans because they seem to sell for a good price and a good focus food. Especially when canned.
Are the peppers worth it though!?
Or any thoughts?
Looks great. Cotton sells best if unprocessed and cheaper to make make the cloth than to buy from blacksmith. I personally preffer fruit bowls better for focus since easy to do by yourself or atleast 1 other person
You could prob also feed canned beans to ranch animals with big food bars.
Yeah I saw beans were some of the best for ranch animals!! I’m not sure if the peppers or pumpkins would be better so I went with peppers for now
Can I get help with my Garden plots? I was trying to separate them for specific things but idk if that is as efficient? I found out I love making Blueberry Jam for the fertilizer/Worms, or to use in Cooking. I need something for Focus food and to feed my Ranch animals, and I wanted to do Cooking parties too like Bean Burgers or Cake parties. How do you guys usually plan out your gardens? Do you use a 3x3 or do you separate them? I wanted to separate mine for aesthetic reasons with One plot for the single spot crops as needed or for crafting like Apples/cotton. but I'm struggling to find a good layout for everything. I did one for my Beans and Blueberries as a 1x2. It is fully Watered and Weeded, with blueberries to turn into Jam then Fertilizer. And I currently have a single plot for an apple tree. But if ya'll have a better Idea, lemmie know!
ok
sepearating is inefficeint
one question at a time ?
My bad..
I want to know what an efficient layout would be for making money, and also having the crops needed for Bug catching and other crafting.
mh i think crafting aside from th e decor plants is only apples though and some random items take small amounts of other stuff
for cooking some stuff needs rice alot u can do one rice layout once to stockpile for that
uhm lets see mh beans peppers and pumpkins are used mroe rarely so a stockpile should normally lasts u but depends on what u cook so it usually odn thave to be included in layout
u can swap blues and beans anyways for each other (and if u really have to swap one of those for pepper or pumpkin and use alot more fertiliser harvestboost to compensate for lack of buff)
im assumign u need blueberrys to
^would this match ur needs?
That is a good one yes. Thank you. You said switch out Beans and Blueberries as needed?
yes and if u need a pepper or pumpkin u can swap that for the blueberrys that arent attached to apples inthat one
Thank you!! And any other crop I just do a full plot of them?
uhm just 1tile harvest boost ones
dont grow cotton
in that layout the cabbages can also be potatoes or tomatoes sunbstitution same for weedblock ones
u can go withotu water reetain or weedblock fert and it will work just fine to but ul dont be growing some tiles then (its so lazy)
But I need cotton too xD
u need cotton for fabric then its usually more cost effective to grow something else and buy fabric unles u still benefgit from quality up as a lower gardener lv
Ohhh ok. Buying is more efficient then
yeay cuz the quality up buff ilwl become useless at lv25
and u cant make starred fabric or have any benefit form havign it if u could as u just craft with it so u lose balue in looming styarred cotton anyways
Ohhhh x.x Dang ok. Well thank you so much!!
your welcome
Is it more effecient to sell Boy choy seeds than preserves?
yes unless ur somehow real short oncrafter capacity to proces it then we need to get a entire spreadsheet to calc what to do with it
Can I use Wheat instead of corn too as needed?
yup even rice
Yeah I do put cotton into the loom because I use it for furniture, and like you said, it's cheaper than buying
Testing this plot for the following: Canned beans (Animal feed), Pickled Tomatoes (Animal Feed) , Apples/Bluberry for Fruit Bowls (Focus food), Cotton for coin and potatoes (feed or focus food) and wheat im not sure yet.
Any suggestions to improve on? Main focus is tomatoes, beans, apples and blueberries atm
I have these two that I just made. Slightly different from yours but it’s an idea.
I wish they would make it easier to put fertilizer on all of the squares at once
At least u can use a autoclicker for that
okay, i was about to do this exact layout until i noticed "30 crafters".. how is this even possible??
u can have max 30 but u dont have to use 30
would you not have to put away all other crafters?
you could but making hte scrnshot with 30crafters shown gives poeple a idea about the ratios of crafters needed
oh
it would be quiet difficult to keep 30 crafters running on a blueberry apple layout though
i think im just impatient lol
just fyi, i run the different version of this layout (4 apples, 2 blueberries and 2 beans) and if you are only harvesting the bushes/trees i got away with 8 preserve jars and two seeders (1 for apples, 1 for beans as i use the extra storage that the seeder provides for the apples) and then the apples/blueberries can go into the preserve jars. this actually gives you enough remaining crafter space to place down as many crafters that you need to give each item it's own crafter (for example, i have 4 sawmills down, 1 each for ancient, flow, hardwood and sapwood which can then be used as extra storage to help keep things out of your actual storage system)
sylva why not do the 5blueberry 4apple one it was based on u
the main reason i don't is because i have moved away from playing palia. i stopped playing after the ranch update. so, i no longer worry about my garden. i just like to hang out here with all of you guys because y'all are cool people
I think that I am just struggling to wrap my head around all of the details. I am trying to design a plan myself that is efficient for money, maximizes the output, is afk-able, AND includes crops I can use for feeding animals... I thought I had found a good one but it would be 90 growth ticks and only nets 335k by the end of it. Which sounds like a lot but comparing it to others I feel like I am just not designing this well lol
gotto click the planenrs buttons to see what it brings per growthtick to compare it though
after processing
unles ur some garden enthousiast then per rl hour matters cuz ul be logging tons of growhtticks
also the most money per growthtik stuff is alot more work and i often feel like ur better of using htat effort to attend a cooking party
honestly, it might be a little cliche, but the best layout is the layout that you are happy with and that it does what you want it to do. all layouts will produce gold as long as you tend to the garden, even a field of tomatoes (which is what i started with) just takes time. apples/blueberries/beans are great because they take a long time to grow allowing you to do other tasks in game without having to worry about running back every hour or so to tend to them (if those crops are water/weed prevented etc), but if you're only online for 1-2 hours a day, they may not be worth it in the long run
So that's sort of the issue.. I'd been playing a lot lately and put in 30+ hours since my return to the game after like a 6 month hiatus. I am now starting to really slow my roll because I've completed all main quests, and my only goals right now are to finish making all of the elderwood relics (All I need is some essence and Maws) and then I will pretty much be done with.. everything for the time being. The only other goals would be to achievement hunt, and I am not normally one to do that. I also may be changing employment soon which means I would have significantly less free time + I do play a lot of games- hence the 6 month hiatus of palia. I think you're right though, that the farm I designed functions the way I need it to for what I want. Thank you :)
take care palia is more of a zen game so play it to unstres whenever u feel like it
i'm the same way with the game, completed all main quests, got most of the achievements, max gold with nothing to spend it on and don't need the renown. so, i drifted away from the game
I just get insanely addicted to palia every 6 months or so, grind it multiple hours a day every day for a few weeks, catch up with the updates, and then tap back out for a while
u can come back when they update the stuff u care about and make more gold ot buy zeki coins to use to get cows to give to ur favorite local duhscape 😛
I am having problems, sometimes, with placing the larger items on my plots. I think I have my beans on the correct 4 spots, and then when I click, it has shifted and I am on the wrong place. Is anyone else getting this? I'm on PC, it seems to be home plot lag causing it, and I'm getting very annoyed.
Is it actually in the wrong spot?
There's a common visual bug when 2x2s or 3x3s are over the boundaries of multiple soil plots, sometimes they appear shifted to one side. It's just visual though, and a sprinkle of water will make it re-evaluate where it actually is.
If it's not quite this, I can't say that I've heard of things actually physically moving... Were crops planted around them? If so, what happened to those crops?
It's where I had 2x4 ready for my beans and I thought the first one had the closer four highlighted. But when I put it down, it had shifted to the middle 4 ones. I'm finding the multi-square plants to be a bit wobbly.
I'll be honest, I've not had that issue personally.
You could always submit feedback about it if it's happening a lot.
Things that could help to mitigate it... Maybe planting everything else around it first, or if it's more common to shift back/forward, maybe try planting from the side?
I'm getting it in everything. Placing decor bushes down, watering, placing plants down into the garden.
Do you by any chance play on Switch? If it's a performance based issue, that could be a factor
Thanks for following up. PC, and I have only had this problem since the winter patch, two patches ago.
If it's Steam, try verifying the integrity of installed files perhaps?
If it's newly laggy while at home plot, it sounds unusual
It's also right-clicking stuff into the seed collecctors, and when taking out of the seed collectors. Ditto for the preserving things.
Is there a guide or a layout advice for someone that is still pretty new and not all the crops are unlocked? This link is what I am doing atm. Ps I just recently unlocked Spicy peppers. I am working towards getting blueberries, apples, and pumpkins. https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/?layout=v0.2_DIM-111-111-111_CROPS-TCoCOPCCrWCb-TORCbCoWCBkCr-TTBkTPOCWCr-WCCbCbBkPTCrT-COTWRTRWCb-RCrPCbPBkBkTCr-WCrBkWPTCCrCr-CBkOCbCrWWCO-RWRCbCbTBkRC
I really need my tomato’s to finish growing so I can set up my garden how I actually want it.
I’m not sure which one I want to test out first. Though if I do the first one I will be swapping the peppers for pumpkins so I can finish this dang quest for Jel
🍎 I got an apple seed from Zeki's Lucky Box machine and just got my first harvest and I was already level 9 farming, and that brought me to level 10. 🎉
My super lazy, pretty profitable, kind of varied layout. Wondering if theres ways to improve. I went with a layout thats really easy to remember, only using single plot crops to help with that. I also only harvest once every 6 hours when everything is grown so I can replant all at the same time so I am not having to revisit my land every in-game day to replant stuff. Cuts a bit into the cost, since some crops just sit there for a couple of hours, but not by too much. Tomatoes get replanted every other harvest
I don’t mind running home every in game day. Since most of the time I get too full on stuff.
If you wanna try for higher quality it will increase your cash.
U can actually 100% all 4 buffs assuming u dont care about the quality of cotton since thats loomed for fabric anyways to use in furniture
I am assuming with fertilizer though. I dont really care to do fertilizer. Im a lazy farmer lol
I do use high yield fertilizer, but thats just because its already being produced as a byproduct from my ingredient of choice for my glow worms
A new version! a bit confusing but you get a decent amount of useful items
yeay but only along the borders i send hte layout here so u can use it for inspiration
theres also some strip shaped ones that have less buf but less fert to
i have this weird problem where the middle isnt getting any buffs, i can actually move the middle half a block, but will break other apple trees if i do
well either the soils aint connected properly which they shoudl be in this case but liek the game dont realise it
or its just noshowing hte watering but oof yes this is annoying only fix we know is picking up the soiuls and placing em back down kidna hrad with apples and blueberrys on it though
thanks, ill try to pick to pick em up
hopefully it works
i hope so to, just saw 2 additional apple tree not getting harvest boost
u could finisht heir cycle with fertilsier
noted, will do
Me versus my sister planning for our gardening
What do you think about it x)
And yeah sorry she doesn't know english ^^
Mh intersting ti see poeple not use the layout website
Seems low on buffs
I put them in the planner cause my brain couldn't handle translating and visualizing the buffs at the same time, but they're actually not too bad. Water and weedblock aren't 100% but pretty close. Hb is pretty good on the first 2 as well
We did the test in our heads and with trials and errors ^^
Also it's cool to see the results
((Footnote : i maximised harvest boost because why not lmao))
@robust meteor

This is to help.with that layout, This channel is also more curated for what you need
hi all! i honestly don't know much about the best way to farm in Palia, is this a good set up??
U generally want harvestboost buff on everything and water retain
i see. gonna experiment and see what sticks. thanks!!
if u somehow cant figure it out we can make u layouts or recommend some to
thats so nice of you! i'll def keep that in the back of my mind 🙂 and i'll also take some inspiration from stuff shared in chat 🙏
Is there a way to cancel a crop that’s being grown?
Yes, just use the secondary action button with your hoe equipped. Should be the same button as when you fill up the watering can. It's x on seitch iirc, idk about other platforms
You do lose the seed though, I think. It's been a while so am not entirely sure
Can confirm that you won't get your seed back from that.
Thank you!!
I dont like having to spam click fertilizer into my farms so i usually first figure out what I want (usually ingridients to make food and feed animals) and then design around getting quality and quantity with the farm planner.
I got a few designs that work for me I can share, however, you also want to figure out how much of any given crop and seed you want taking up your storage.
What does the little symbol in the upper right mean? It's only on some flowers
Flowers that grow up through watering start with a 1 as a seedling and progress through stages of growth until they no longer need watering and produce a single seed. The green bloom means this plant has already been watered and harvested and is fully matured.
Hey guys I’m not new to the palia community but I just wanted to know the best way to farm and if anyone could give me an apple I’m way way behind of farming
Hi recall of an very nice layout
another one for the pile
Holy crapoly Batman!!! I thought I was doing doing good with my 400k
How much of a difference does it make to have star quality compared to regular in terms of price? Is it better to just go for harvest, water, and weed than star?
from mine I got 466k if I dont process my crops into jams and seeds
about star, when you reach gardening lvl 25, you got 100% chance for star quality.
and about the price you can see the difference between:
-star seed with gardening lvl 0 & 25 (star chance 50% or 100%)
-star seed with gardening 25 and making everything into jams and seeds
-normal seed with gardening lvl 0 & 25 (star chance 25% or 50%)
as your skill levels up you're going to get all star quality just about anyway, so once you hit 25 gardening its not worth worrying about the boost to it
So it’s definitely worth it to go for star quality right now.
These are some of the ones I’ve been trialing.
I don't grow cotton because the space it takes is more valuable as something else and just buy fabric from Tish as needed
Thank you. I will work on a non cotton version
I used to work with water retain and weed prevention before harvest and quality boost. that way I don't have to go back every day at the farm and taking care of it. At the start I use cotton and pepper for star but at some point I stopped using them. (I'm lvl 21 and I got 92% for star crop)
I don’t mind going back everyday to water. Since my backpack gets full quickly I tend to make 1/2 trips a day
But I’m definitely enjoying my no weeding part
i love selling only tomatoes so i've been perfecting a field with the maximum amount to tomats
((i haven't slept in three moons help))
u do the max dopamine layout?
Whoa. New to this thread so sorry if this is a repeat question. What program is that? I’m going to try and replicate this soon.
Garden planner https://palia-garden-planner.vercel.app/, check pinned post for more useful links
Trying currently with one apple, two pepper and potatoes
The remaining space is full tomatoes
I'll see if i use fertiliser or put some onions and carrots, but knapweed is a source of money too lmao 🤣
Okay it's only ten gold, but if have on every squares then it's a few hundreds gold
There'll only ever be 9 knapweed at a time, but other than that I agree.
Not sure if you got the apple but if you still need one i can send them after 3pm est?
I’m not level 10 yet I’m like level 6
be careful with knapweeds, if you have nine in your garden and don't pick them, then you run the risk of the garden not growing at all
Are you able to request them? I won’t be online until 3pm in the EST time zone, but if you are i can add you when i get online and send some! I’m over level 80+ in farming and I have tons of apples, I would be happy to help!
Let me check
No I can’t request them becuase I don’t know about them like if I don’t know an item I can’t request it
u cna also request it if u have a recipe that uses it
I have an item that has that but it doesn’t show me it in the request section
mh yeay some stuff is only in the recipe u can click the requets its so random
Yes I can click to request but it don’t show me it
I just have to level up tbh. But thank you
do you get the "+" button in the recipe? from there maybe you can request it🤔
Yes I do get that but it don’t show it in my request list
Hi! I've been playing Palia for like 3 weeks, and I just found about the farming boost. I didn't know that it matters how you plant the crops 😅 I need help on a good layout to get a better boost on my crops. If anyone is not too busy, I could use help pls. Thank you in advance (btw, no rush) 🤗🤗🤗
I believe therr is a websitr which can show you the best layout for whatever crops you got. Think its called palia garden layout or something and ypu select what crops you want growing and any fertilisers used and it will give ypu a layput
Wow cool.... I need to learn how to do that haha
I can dm ypu the link if you want (idk if i can post links here)
Gardenplanner link is allowed
Hi, I speak Spanish and I'll be using a translator to communicate.
I had a question about crafting the hang glider. I have the materials, and I went to talk to Najuma, but she didn't give me the option to craft it.
You don't have to craft it, she gave it to you. In your inventory at the top there is an icon with an image of a glider, click that and you should be able to equip it. Alternatively you can open your equips menu (Y on PC, not sure about console), go to the glider tab and equip it from there
New crop discovered
You heard of Green bean but now Introducing Angry Bean! Now with 50% more Rage
Palia Garden Layout Generator. That website actually isn't great. I tried it before and the layouts it gave me not only were bad, they didn't even follow the parameters I gave it. Look at this monstrosity it just came up with for example: it doesn't use all the crops I wanted, and it didn't even take into account that I wanted 100% water retain and 100% weedblock. You're better off playing around in the Palia Garden Planner imo
oh yeay that thing its layout are so bad it slike putting stuff down at random
Yeah, I remember trying it as a noob and even then I could see how terrible it was even though I still didn't fully understand how gardening worked
anyone have any suggestions for this before i commit?
see above
recommended number of preserve jars?
what is the best plot for growing batterfly beans i need bunches ❤️
most of what u can spare for gardening with the remainder what sneeded to make seeds
so like...8?
think i got like 10 or something
but i have also had moments more earlier in the game where i ran 30
another way to see how many u need is everytime u harvest something use ur harvest to fill up the first free jar if none are free place another
as someone who really wants to do a fancy mega buffing garden my adhd brain is scrambled by trying not to make a mistake.
i deeply wish we could put lil crop symbol signs to show what gets planted in each plot
You can always try harvesting and replanting one type of crop at a time. It's not the perfect solution but it helps. I also always have a garden planner screenshot of the layout I'm using on my phone
v true i just dislike how if i ever misclick i just gotta live with it and grow that crop there no take backsies
i don't recall which button it is on controller, but on PC if you hold right click with your hoe, it will dig up the crop you planted.
though you don't get the seed back. it just won't be planted anymore.
and this is the reason i was an apple and bean farmer only
I love my beans!
hello, does anyone have any layouts they recommend?
I’m testing some. They aren’t perfect and it also depends on what you are aiming for.
kinda looking for a balance between money and ingredients for cooking
tysm!!
How did you get 31 Crafters? Or anyone know.
You purchase them at the town hall building. The one with Kenyatta at the front desk. Along with the writs to unlock more of your plot
If it maxed at 30, does the writs give you more?
Perhaps it was a misclick on the app
I have a bunch of layouts that are 100% water retain/weedblock and can be 100% harvest boost with some fertilizer that also include at least 1 of each crop (except cotton). You can find them here #🌱│gardening message
They give good money, too
hi, I have a quick question! I've seen people talk about turning their produce into seeds, and then selling those seeds for profit
do you keep any of the seeds for the sake of replanting, or just purchase new ones from zeki?
keep enough seeds to replant and sell the rest
gotcha, thank you so much!! It's been confusing me for a while lol
same goes with the preserve jars for the crops that prefer to be jarred, keep a portion of the harvest to make enough seeds to replant then put the rest in preserve jars
got it! I appreciate it
trying to make a garden that includes all that i need (apple, beans, peppers, wheat, tomatoes) make me wanna screm
This is what I'm using and it works well for me, obv you can switch things with matching boosts around and apply ferts if you want to. I don't usually because I'm lazy and it does just fine.
Can you stack fertilizer? I noticed you can put more than one down but does it actually use it or does it go to waste?
you can stack up to 99 fert on each crop. it will be used as long as the crop next to it does not give the same buff. so for example, if you have a crop that is receiving the harvest boost from an adjacent crop, placing harvest boost fertilizer will just sit in the ground being unused
Oohh thank you!! I’m finally planning out my gardening to boost my profit vs chaos gardening so this is helpful information 😆
hi, can someone tell me what is the name of the site/tool youre using the make the garden plans?
i noticed for the gold star cotton is 67 gold a piece and the seeds are 30 gold a piece. wouldn't it make sense to just grow and sell gold star cotton instead of the gold star seeds? what am i not getting?
reading the chat and holy air ball .. yall are on a different level!! just unlocked a whole new world for me
1 cotton turns into 3 seeds iirc, meaning selling a single starred cotton nets you only 67g vs the 90g the seeds that same single starred cotton can give you
Hi all, I"m new to the game. Any suggestions on what seeds to plant at gardening level 2?
hey so im fairly new to gardening is anyone available to help me learn/figure something out haha
ask away, there's always someone lurking in here for assistance
so im tryina just learn it in general really but its so confusing and trying to follow this but i do not understand a single ounce of it
if possible could go into a call since im so lost haha
here is fine. just trying to figure out the easiest way to say everything. (also don't have a mic to talk with)
valid tbh haha
so, growth ticks (this plan uses 60) are when the crops grow to their next level and happens every hour at 6am palia time (most of the crops here are fully grown within 3-5 growth tics/hours). these only happen when you are online and only 1 more growth tic is given when you are offline
as you harvest and replant the crops you are going to process what you have gotten with the bok choy, rice, wheat and potatoes going to seed collectors (as that is the most profitable way of processing them) and the carrots and tomatoes are going to go into the preserve jars. at the end of the 60 growth ticks you would have gotten all of the numbers in the produce area (the 5k bok choy seeds, etc.). the section where it says seed collectors-24 and then the break down under it, is how many seeders that you need and how many of each seeder is allotted to each crop to process efficiently (11 seeders to bok choy for example) same for the preserve jars.
the processing time up at the top is how many irl days it will take to process all of the crops.
of course, this is entirely assuming you are online 60 hours straight and at gardening level 25 (as lower gardening levels might not net you all the star quality that is shown)
okay i am not lvl 25 im barely 8 haha but once i get there etc do i like sell the seeds and all too ?
Is there someplace that shows what crops are best placed next to or near each other? The planner will be great once I know what I'm doing.
keep enough seeds to replant the layout, then sell the rest, same goes for items in the preserve jar, you will need to set aside a bit of the harvest to place into seeders to get those for replant
each crop does something different
bok choy, onions, carrots - give weed prevention
potatoes, tomatoes, cabbage -give water prevention
rice, wheat, corn, blueberries, apples, beans - give harvest boost
peppers, cotton, pumpkins - give quality up
crops give buffs in a + formation, not diagonally, and never give buff to same crop. for example, bok choy next to an onion will give each other weed prevention, but an onion next to an onion will not give buff to either.
ty btw sylva
also, the 2x2 crops (blues, beans, pumpkins, peppers) all need to have two crops of a type to get a buff touching them (so would need two water retain plants touching any of the sides to give it water retain, the buffers don't need to be together to do so) and apples need to have three of the same buff in order to get it
Thank you!!!
I'll have to take a look at what I planted when I get back online.
I'm only level 2 or 3, so I'm very new to gardening. Technically I'm very new to the game
at that low of a level, focus on trying for 100% harvest boost and cotton (especially cotton for self use since you need fabric in the early quests and buying it is a hassle, once you're at a higher level it will fall off that you won't need the cotton and buying fabric from tish is the way to go)
if you want an example of a "beginner friendly" layout
Thank you!!!
it needs to be checked for weeds, but you'll probably going back to your home plot often to check on them
Where can I get Tree seeds for planting from I looked in all the stores close to the Zak convenient store
You get tree seeds as random drops from chopping down medium and large trees
Is there a bigger Axe I could purchase?
As you level up in foraging, you can purchase crafting recipes for better axes from Ashura
Oooh ok I kept seeing that I wasn’t sure what it was 😂
How do I fulfill this one everytime I click on someone it takes me to there profile but it don’t show anything about gifting
hi! open your player menu and select the social panel. then swap to the Requests tab and click the little present 🎁 icon to see other players' requests. you may need to ask in the server chat for someone to request something you have, e.g. sapwood.
Thank you
Is there a way to dig up a plant you don't want?
yup rclick with hoe or whatever that button is on consoles
anyone know of a good plant or food item thats best to get Harvest boost fertilizer. please and thank you
u want to know what to put in wormfarms to get harvestboost?
grill ur exces fish use those do select to not grill ur maws
exces meats and muhsrooms and other foragables eggs and milk
I usually use my excess tomatoes because the plants produce multiple rounds and, since I use them A LOT for water retention, I usually have more than a hundred in my storage at all times. 😅
On switch it's X, pretty sure on ps5 it's triangle (been a bit since I played on that)
Finally i did get a tree seed from naio, what the best layout With one tree? 100 percent water retain pls 😭
hiii, whats the best thing to use for glow worm making?
I mainly use oyster/clam meat since I tend to pick up a lot of them while running around. You can also do excess mushrooms, eggs, milk, etc
I like using sernuk & muujin meat personally, I always have extra on hand from hunting
grilled fish (you're already fishing with the glow worms, might as well put the fish back to get the worms), just make sure that when you do so, you are manually choosing the fish that you want to use as that way they are more likely to stack better than just letting the game choose for you
Can someone help me ?🥺👉👈

Hello, does the fertilizers work?
Its enough that i put it just before to gather?
Or it needs to be there at least 1 hours for example?
fertilizers need to be placed on the crop at every growth tic (every hour at 6am palia time) in order to be 100% effective, otherwise you'll have a reduce chance of it working. you can stack fertilizers up to 99 so you don't have to remember to run back to put it on the crops. fertilizers do NOT work if an adjacent crop is providing the fertilizer buff, for example, if you have a tomato next to a rice crop (that provides harvest boost) putting harvest boost fertilizer on the tomato will not be used as the crop buffs take priority
AH ok, so if i put in all the plots it will not work anytime?
How to know how many stacks i have applied?
just depends on what the surrounding crops give, if you're not using any harvest boosting crops (rice, wheat, corn, apples, blueberries or beans) then putting harvest boost fertilizer on the entire field will work, but if you are using those crops, any crops that are directly touching one of the above mentioned crops will not need the fertilizer as the crop's buff will take priority and the fert will just sit there. as far as stacks go, most just stack to 99 and forget it, but if you don't want to, i would check how long each crop grows for and put however many ticks it takes to get to harvest (so for a potato that takes 5 growth tics, i would place 5 fertilizer)
any links to recommended layouts for someone at gardening lvl 5 ?
Will there be more harvest spaces once?
Palia Days
So it will take 4 hours for them to grow if you water them every palia day
ahhh nice i was scared for a moment akjbljabfsfas
when i saw the tree -> 12 days aksdbljabsdasd
just remember, the crops only grow 1 stage when you go offline, then they stop growing, so don't think that you can play for 4 hours and then sleep/work/other things for 8 and come back to the tree being ready
aaaa didnt know too! tyyy ❤️ i feel so dumb not knowing this
this is my layout for 100% water retention with one apple tree. multiple beans bcs canned beans are my focus food. the empty slots are for any other seeds, i alternate based on what vege i have less. they should all get water retention
Question— can I stack fertilizer? Or does stacking not improve time length before needing to replace it?
you can stack up to 99 fert on a crop, the fert will be used at 6am every palia day and depending on the size of the crop will determine how much of the fertilizer is used at that time (1 tile crops will use 1 fert, 2x2's will use 4, and apples will use 9)
I seeee! So it’ll utilize all fertilizers stacked? Nice!! Thank you!
yep, just keep in mind that if a crop that is adjacent to the crop that you are putting fertilizer on gives the same buff as the fertilizer, then the fertilizer will not be used as the crop buff takes priority (for example, if you have a potato next to a rice - which gives harvest boost- putting harvest boost fertilizer on the potato is a waste as it won't be used)
Oh wow. This is like garden math 😅😆
Not to bad
Ooooo thank you for this. May have to test it.
I’ve been working on one that has retain and weed prevention.
i know this is a really stupid thing to gripe about, but it really bugs me that the bean seeds go before the beans in the crops inventory, when everything else is crop first then seeds
Opened up my requests and saw this, how does one get lettuce seeds?!
same person also requested lettuce as a crop
you can't get them, they were an accidental release back on father's day 24. they have no buff and no use outside of focus foods. so the only way for people to get them now is if someone is willing to give them away but it's not something that can be obtained again currently
Ahh okay gotcha, thank you! I got excited for a second thinking there was a sneaky lettuce release lol
Hey, everyone! I guess many of you know it, but I am just curious about this: If you put honey in the compost machine, you are getting high quality fertilizer. I think. Have anyone else found different kinds of fertilizer produced by other resources?
Fertilizer gets produced by putting food into the worm bins, and iirc there's also one that can be crafted at the worktable.
Sweet stuff is quality up
Savory is harvestboost
And some stuff should be sweet but aint counted as such but u wont dump that in anyways
Other than to turn into preservatives for money are blueberries needed? I use beans for focus food so I am working on a garden layout for them.
food recipes, cake, pie etc
do starred crops have a better chance to turn into starred seeds in a seeder?
yes
thanks
no problem :>
you'll want to give onion a friend that also has weed protection and use rice sparringly throughout where you have overlap since it gives neither water or weed buffs
so per plot you'd need something like this to get the 100% coverages and then you can just seed the bokchoy/carrots
Why are the plots an odd number?? I hate it. I want symmetry dang it!! lol. Small gripe but nothing big
to make it more complex but yes i love even numbers even number soils with even number tiles on both sides wouyld make it way easier
Right!! Just give us ten or something please. It hurts me
working 2x2s in a 9 times 3x3 ughhh
I’m trying so hard to get a combo for beans, apples, bok choy, lettuce.
So I can get harvest, weed, and water
would above fit ur needs? blueberrys can be beans of course
A bit. Don’t need that many apples though.
I have a few I’ve been playing with. Some without the water because I go to my plot often enough to water it
XD but u do need so many beans ic ic
I originally had an area that was a 3x3 so it had some form of symmetry.
I do!! They are simple, give decent focus, you get multiple days from them, and they even sell for a decent amount
Hmmm potential.
Should I do tomato’s instead of cabbage
maybe in actual planting but on he layout maker it looks to much like apples
Ahahaha. Yeah there are only two things of apples. lol
I made this layout for minimal watering and has every crop for people that want them. Most have harvest boost too
will work great for those who struggle with more complicated ones for sure

anyone have a spreadsheet of how much money you get back from selling crops? Would like to know (im new to this game but ive progressed a bunch)
check out some of the pinned messsages in this channel, especially the "shepp arenvanya" ones! they should help
this is a website? Hiiii~
that might be the best thing ever
I feel like I should know this by now, but I'm like completely out of harvest boost. What can I throw in my worm farms to give me the highest amount of production for it?
Grilled fish is pretty good in a pinch
ty! trying to get the most out of the apple trees so i can make hella lures. I had tons before but this board has me burning through them!
from my nerdy reading of the wiki, bean burgers are my long term goal for worms and harvestboost. sushi or chapaa masala seemed like a good budget option. seems like a lot of npcs like chapaa masala so i would be okay just have having a backlog and dumping extra to worms
I'm still pretty early game so this is not from experience only numbers
Ouch... I have been playing since Alpha and I was never one to place anything I considered expensive food into the worm bins, [Compost bins] I do not believe in wasting money to make money. I would rather take time, go slow... But I also did have enough honeylures [I am still waiting for the recipe to be changed, ever since we FINALLY GOT HONEY in the game] to do random and not so random parties for when I hit my personal milestones in game. Such as, whenever I hit level 💯 in a Guild, I would drop 100 lures. When I reached Player Level 1,000 I did 1,000 lures in random callouts at all the hot-spots for bugs needed in the bundles, cooking or for crafting. The last 2 were mostly V-Crabs, for the extra boosted food and silk.
For my worms they only ever got Non-💫 grilled meat, Non-💫morel shrooms, and Non-💫 grilled oyster. I tend to keep some Non-💫 veggies that I get from Reward Bags from the BM HP for Donations to new players or if I do a party and someone starts a Non-💫recipe I can throw something into the pot.
I see no reason in wasting an expensive recipe [unless the bean burger cost to make has gone down since I last checked -over a year ago] on worms. When we have only ever needed 1 worm per fish we are trying to catch.
And if you are trying to grow worms for profit, who would you feed them some of the most expensive foods to make and sell on their own? When the worms and poop hardly sells for anything, unless it has gone up... I haven't look at that, and hardly play at all lately. But I love the Highlands of Scotland, so this new update is calling to me...
I do love theory crafting and doing calculations based off of COGS and budgeting as well as doing my Gross and Net Revenue differences. That's leftovers from one of my past life stages. It turned out to be far to boring in the long run for me... Business Management and Accounting
i assume feeding your ranch animals stuff you grow and process would be the cheapest way, what crops are best for ranching to grow and synergize with?
i mean that makes sense. it also depends on how often you need worms. making them seems to take forever so more expensive food is more time efficient (in theory). but youre right to say you only need a couple usually.
also maybe you can just sell the food and buy the worms for cheaper idk
Personally I like to put starred pumpkins in my glow worm farms for HarvestBoost fertilizer. I go through a lot of worms, so putting in the more common items just doesn’t yield enough worms for the amount of fishing I do. But if you don’t use that many worms you can just put in whatever gives HarvestBoost and it should still be plenty of fertilizer, it fills up fast.
That’s just what’s been easiest for me to manage since I’m lazy, pumpkins don’t have to be replanted often and I can just put them straight in there after harvesting.
For gardening you have to be at level 10 to get medals right?
yes, and that's also for all of the guilds
Ok thank you
hey I need an advice on passive money-making.
currently, I have 6 apple trees in a layout that maximizes harvest and minimizes effort. but I still feel like it's too much effort to harvest my non-apple crops and replant them...
so instead, I keep them ready to harvest without actually harvesting them, and only gather apples.
but there's a problem with this. i'm always low on HB fert. this is because I don't harvest my veggies anymore, so I can't turn them into HB fertilizers.
So what can I use instead to produce enough HB for my apple trees? Idk if raw meat is good enough, and I don't do ranching...
If i use starred seeds is it guarenteed to give me starred produce back? I want some normal prpduce but only have starred ones. Idk if i can get normal produce from them or just starred as if so ill just sell the star seeds and go buy normal from Zeki.
so, you can put the worms from the worm fertilizer to work by grilling the fish that you catch (make sure that you are choosing the fish and not letting the game do it for you), if you are using ranching, you can put apparently put the things from that into the worm farms, or you change the layout that you are using to have the harvest boosting crops on the apples, though you would lose out on one of the weed/water buffs outside of constantly buying from zeki.
using star seeds does produce star crops, however, depending on your gardening level, there is a point where you will no longer get non-star crops
yeah i guess I could do that, but I've already caught every starred fish so I don't see myself doing that again soon lol
is there any item worth buying from stores just to feed to the worms? or is that too expensive?
maybe ill make a layout without weed prevention, since I still have to get that achievement
probably too expensive in the long run, especially on apples as they need 9 harvest boost ferts per in game day. so, without ranching (or dropping down to 4 apples for all buffs) hunting would be the second best option after grilled fish
yeah maybe it's not such a bad idea. like does it take more time to weed your crops or to fertilize them? probably the latter
you would just need to return to your plot every hour at/before 6am to make sure you get the weeds or the apples won't grow and will go off schedule
There's a specific layout you can use though for weed prevention and watering so you don't have to fuss with doing it as much.
They are interchangable, but the cotton, why no need for it?
The buff becomes useles as starred becomes guaranteud and u can grow something else proces sell it to buy fabric with a profit
We do have everything layouts with 100% 3 buffs but this one is simpler to remember
Interesting, not really fussed with buying things too much if possible.
Though, I really wish we had actual uses for the weeds 😂 like feeding them to the pekis or something
Yeay like wormfood atleast
Hi, ive been looking at the crop prices and guides etc and i am SO confused, I really struggle with numbers and math and as soon as I see the guides I just get overwhelmed 😭
Can anyone tell me which crop is considered one of the most valuable? It doesn't have to be the most valuable or have any special fertiliser etc. I just want to know which is worth farming for gold 😭
This may useful to determine what you can grow, preserve, and seed.
It actually dont matter to much chose stuf u like to grow higher coinage per tile per growthtick is just way more effort
A properly buffed layout matters most
Pumpkins are awefull
Cotton below lv25 only for the buff
Buy fabric afterwards
guys, if i use starred seed i dont need to use cotton right?
Depends on ur gardening lv
Star chance is like base chance 25%from seeds 2% per lv
With star seeds + 25% caps at 25 cuz then 100% without quality up buff
nice to know, thanks bro!
so if i got lv50, i dont need starred seeds? or we have a limit?
another question bro, cotton buff is accumulative with star seeds and garden level?
38unstarrdd seeds starred produce cuz 25 + 2x37.5 = 100
Yeay additive percentpoint chance
awesome, thanks
I am want to try out a bit of gardening, if I upload a screenshot of my planned garden, could someone look it over and let me know if it's good or bad?
i can try but its usually easier to make a copy in the garden planner thing
that's what i used.
i wanted to water/weed protection because i'm terrible at remembering to do those things. lol
i'm only level 5 gardening at the moment.
il comment in a bit
ok uhm this one is relatively simple layout but u can have 100% harvest boost or near 100% without fertilisers to
u said ur lower lv at lower lv u benefit from the cottons quality up buff(other plants have it to but 2x2s are a pain to put in a layout)
i do have a layout wiht all 4 buffs 100%
u can also have a layout wihtout weedblock at ur level to have a simpler water retain harvestboost quality 100% layout
harvest boost = more xp?
i'm just trying to learn the basics i guess and get something going it can upgrade on in the future.
harvest boost = +50% production output for hte szmee seeds cost so its more hten +50% boost
so maybe switch the wheat out for cotton? or should i change it up completely?
i do have a lot of harvestboost fertilizer from warm farm i can use.
do u want to make it urself or should i send a layout here
or send one for inspiration
please send one if it's not too much trouble. i'm open to all suggestions.
also it gets way simpler passed lv 25 as u stop needing hte quality up buff
yeah none of my skills are over 10 yet, just wanted to get this one started while i work on the others.
will do have to ask cuz otherwise i piigeon hole popele into using my layouts or take the joy of making one urself away from em and some poeple got mad at me for it(much more were happy with it but still)
i'm all ears! there's so much to this game, i love the help.
u dont have to use the 4 fertiliser but if u do its more yield
do remove weeds as to much weeds stops everything from growing
can i just weedblock fertilizer? i have some saved up. and if i use them, do i have to do it each cycle?
placing that on every tile is kinda excessive tbh
then ur better of wiht the 4 buffs layout XD
how fertiliser works it consumes one per growthtick x tilesize of the plant that uses the buff from fertiliser(wont consume the fert on some exception or if it has the buff from toher plants)
u can stack fertiliser up to 99 per plant so just dump 6 on a crop that takes 6 growthticks to grow for example
ahh okay that makes sense. thank you so much for the help!
also, for higher quality seeds, how do i go about doing that?
unles u want to get lower quality crop use those till lv 38
passed lv25 no more quality up buff giving plants like coton in ur layout
peppers pumpkins only grown for use
will i just get them randomly while gardening and just save them up?
no pumpkins and spicy peppers u must plant urself do plant a few without getting them starred as eventually u cannot get them unbstarred anymore just a small stockpile for when forgetting to click allow starred stuff on cooking/gifting to poeple who need it
do i wait for everything to finish growing to harvest or harvest when they grow then replant?
usually har fvest when stuff is ready but its up to u
Does anyone happen to know a garden layout with focus on blueberries? Am hoping to lead cooking party and need starred blueberries. So focusing on star rate and duplicate chance of blueberries ❤️
Feel free to ping me if you have any help. And thank you in advance for any support.
what kind of blueberry layout
theres so many optimised for different things
Just need one good for quality bonus, and more blueberries per harvest.
ok u need quality
and harvest boost watreretain yes
Water retention and weed prevention don’t matter much for me
The other 2 are bonus
mh well i never had anyone need quality up on blueberry layout before so il make one
roughly how many blueberrys do u need?
the cooking party would be about 50x starred blueberries, and no real time limit on when it’s gonna happen, so maybe 15-25 plants, however many can be placed while maximizing the output and quality
what is ur gardening lv
cuz if its 25+ u dont need quality up bonus
Level 9 😅
quality up it is
gues il just modify my cross max beans layout
Hopefully it’s not too much trouble for you
done that only took 5min or so and most of that was chatting with u to knwo what to make
this what u needed?
That does look very good, I think it’s perfect for what I need, thank you very much
Once my tomato plants die I’ll set this layout down
dont forget to not do this qualkiuty up thing at lv 25
So once I hit lv 25 I should focus on harvest boost, and water retention / weed prevention? quality boost can be 0%?
yeah, as long as you are using star seeds, you can stop using the quality up buffs/fertilizer
and harvest boost should probably always be the preferred buff in any layout. you get 1.5 crops per harvest with it
Ahh so I need star seeds, I can get them from seed collector right?
yeah, you put your star crops into the seeders and get your replant seeds back from that
Ahh okay, thank you for the extra info 😅 this game is both easy to learn and overwhelming at times
Harvest boost only if u want more produce
Water retain unles u like watering
Weedblock when u dont want weeds
Theres reasons to not want certain buffs but probs not for u
Does anyone know what the best 9x9 layout is for the Gardening game on XP?
if you are going for experience, all layouts will work as all crops give 4 exp per slot per day of growth. Regrowing crops give exp based on total grow time divided by number of harvests on each harvest. so, it's up to you how you want to get them, just make sure you're harvesting the crops
also, keep your focus bar full while harvesting to get the most out of each harvest
AFK apples it would be a good way to level up without having to worry so much, right?
absolutely (you get about 270 xp per harvest from them at base, i think somewhere in the 500s at max focus bonus and boost), it's not a fast process for them though as it takes 12 in game days to get to first harvest
I have some Apple with Star seeds. In that case, would using Speedy-Gro fertilizer make them grow faster?
eh, we don't normally recommend speedy gro as it's a) expensive to do, and b) it's broken when using harvest boost buff (as with apples you want to use it on them)
ohh okay, thank you so much ❤️
Is there still a 9 grid max for farm plots
yep
thank you
Hello, all. 🙂 I am level 12 with gardening and want to increase this (as well as making a lot of money). What would be a good garden-plan for this level and purpose? Thanks!
See above
Thanks!
And the produce I get I should all pickle and then sell? Or keep some for seeds?
Is there an easier way to plant all the produce? I have a hard time distinguishing the different tiles haha.
cotton self use fabric
taters seeds rice to cuz duh
the rest jarred
i chose crops based on whats ez to distinguish from other corps and has lined up harvest times but ur free to substitute the same buff types
By jove I've done it! I've come up with the near perfect garden setup! (And I used my obsession with spreadsheets to help xD) Blueberries of course because you get the most money for the most reasonable grow time (apple seeds are fantastic, but have a really long yield time and 10 apples for 1 seed isn't as cost efficient). You could alternate between batterfly beans and blueberry bushes to harvest boost each other, but I have several glow worm / regular worm farms so I don't have a problem with harvest boost fertilizer. The alternating cabbages and tomatoes of course keep every thing except the one tippy top corner bush watered. Gods I'm proud y'all!
can you tell why my gardening is lvl 90 and my next highest one is 61 lol
oh hey, there's a garden planner lol, guess i didn't need a spreadsheet xD
that being said, new plan xD Looking for improvements in my already "near-perfect" garden lol
Seems nice for hb and waterretain layout where u want 1apple and yes to many 2x2
I have something similar to this
hey, each fertilizer applied lasts a day, right?
in game day, yes
Lets ignore the exceptions
big thanks for the ideas you gave me for garden layouts, i fiddled with it and got something a lil more suited to what i need and i think it looks pr good! (fert is easy cuz i always tun my glowworms)
heck yeah! I super glad I could help!
You're using a lot of unnecessary fertilizer in there. All the marked spots are already harvest boosted by other crops
yeah that fair, in all honesty im usually too lazy to remember which ones need em and which dont so i generally just re apply to whatever has run out
For this layout it's easy to remember: anything that touches the blueberries and the apple tree doesn't need fertilizer
If you put fertilizer anyways, it's just gonna sit in the soil, useless, when you could use it on crops that actually need it
ive been doing potatoes as a way to make money and make focus food
but im wondering if i should switch to apples instead? what do you guys do?
I do lots of apples cuz im just lazy
I actually use beans for my focus food. Two cans of beans can get me almost 100 % full
Also do you guys prefer watering or pulling weeds? I was trying to do both but realized I don’t really need both and would rather have those spots open for a crop I want.
I can’t decide which I prefer. I’m trying to find a good layout that gives me some apples, lots of beans, and some blueberries. I’m trying to get either water retention or weed prevention
Uhm why not both crops n buffs
Truthfully it was because I couldn’t find a good layout for both that I liked! Ahahah. I will check this out!
This one is abit special as it was designed with only harvesting the blueberrys and apples in mind
Gotcha. So you just leave the rest planted?
Yeay or put the fert on it so it keeps growing u could ignore weedblock fert though
Its up to u
keep in mind that if all soils combined have 9 weeds the unweeded crops will also not grow hence that layout i send only has 6 crops without weedblock buff
if this wasnt the case i would muhc rather have made more stuff be standard watered instead
if u use that one but pluckw eeds its fine
I usually return home at least once a day. So I don’t mind a few weeds or watering. I just want want to do the whole plot because it’s time consuming
Probably better to ask here instead of the newbies section, sorry. Should you put fertilizer on before or after you water crops? I'm not a real farmer, so I don't know the proper sequence
Shouldn't make a difference.
fertilizer can be placed at anytime but needs to be present at every growth tic (6am palia time) in order to get full effect
ahh ok, thank you both
Now that I have more tree seeds and the others, which plan do u thing is the best ?
What are you focusing on? Food for cooking? Or what
What is the significance/meaning of the harvest boost number that shows up? I haven't been able to track down why sometimes there is a number after it
It's showing how many harvest booster fertilizers there are.
Money !
And you have all seeds unlocked? What about seed collectors and preserve bins?
Yes I have and Yes too, 4 of each machine!
This sounds perfect for me! Is it okay to reuse your layout on my plot please?
of course thats why i make and share em all use it to ur hearts content
Here's to a jammy empire and maybe one day, placeable jams for my pantry 😂
No it is not
Why not? Please explain I’m so confused 😭
its low on all buffs no matter what u tryt to accomplish theres plenty of better layouts
and pumpkins are the least profitable crop to grow by far and ur not even harvestboosting em
theres even better extremely siomple dont care about buffs layouts witha all corps then this
A quick way to make it better would be to tryy to make sure there rarely are two same plants next to each other (as long as still two plants giving the same boosts, doesn't have to be twice the same plant, share a border with the pumpkins, and three times the same boosts share one with the apple) :-)
I’m still confused like make a plan like that one but what your saying tbh I’m sorry 😭
btw im like a genie wish for me to tell u if the layout is good il answer but uhm yeay becarefullw what u wish for disclaimer and all
do u need help with layout making or finding a layout
I figured the gardening sub would know best! Would using speed grow on 9 apple trees help boost my level faster, so that I can hit lvl 25? I was lvl 12 when I picked Palia back up a bit ago and I just crossed the 90 hours on Steam and only gained 3 levels in gardening (so 90hrs for 3 lvls). I do miss a watering sometimes but I have been fairly good about it when I am on. Am I simply doing something wrong or will my apple tree idea help me?
yeay but speedygreow is abit glitchy and costs precious medals
thing getting a water retain weedblock layout with longer lasting crops so it matters less if u miss a growhttick would help u more
hmm yeah, I was thinking about trying to configure a water and weed block so that it grew while I was offline. Thank you <3
crops grow when ewatered no weeds (and no 9 total weeds) and unharvestable
while u are online at 0600 palian time and one time after
so offline all night aint gonna grow ur appletrees unless u somehow stay logged in
Oh boy.. ok well that changes things then. If I prioritize crops for water and weed prevention, will those still grow while I am offline?
