to make sure that you will get the loot once it's fully chopped down. most ppl wait around for other ppl to come chop for flow trees

especially for flow tree groves, ppl usually hit all the ft once and then announce in server chat so others can get them too!

yup, if you hit any tree even just once, you'll get the loot. same with mining nodes. it helps against the people who come in and just start chopping without waiting.

people wait too long at groves. and then do late "any otw" followed by a "me" over a minute later. then they get angry when after waiting 10 minutes I start cutting. if my axe could cut the big trees I'd solo groves tbh

although my favorite is the chat timestamp being 12:00:02 and people are asking where grove is

on average, the servers that i've been in are usually "chop at 3" unless someone called saying that they were on the way at 2:30 because they just got on the server, then wait a few moments more, but most of the time it's 3 when the grove gets chopped whether you're on the way or not

but i also don't wait at the grove, i'll get my hits in then go to look for mine nodes or hunt bugs or deer in the area, then return when i see the "ty" in chat to pick up the flow trees

Call it out in the server chat. Wait for people to arrive. Then ask if anyone else is on the way and give a time for chopping if not

There will be rude people who show up and start chopping all the trees . Everyone should take 1 hit per tree (occasionally one will fall in one hit) when they arrive

Ok I'm having a glitch that is happening everytime I try and use the stove. I click to start the blue circle, then when the blue circle is inside the other circle I click, and the blue ball just keeps going around and I keep clicking when its in the other circle and the blue ball just keeps going around and I do this over and over and over and then the ball ends up in some other place around the yellow circle and says failed. Am I doing something wrong? I tried the stove at someone elses house and at my own house and it just does this thing every time. so, yeah, i went and bought 31 cooking oil, the thing that it says you need two of for the stir fry, i put the full stack in my lockbox and checked the ingredients at the stove. it is marking that you need 1 oil to start the recipe which has a check by it, but it is also putting a check by the oil in the required produce area as well

the rng for cooking is weird. if I make something 100 times there needs to be an auto-cook option. spending 55 seconds per bake is time consuming and boring

like when I bake quickly, 50 seconds instead of 55, I shouldn't get unstarred food, but alas, going fast doesn't guarantee better results

I made this experience as well, getting it done in under 50% of the time limit is nearly always star quality foodstuff.

One can even get star quality ruined food and display it 🙂

I like it simple - Ramen, mushroom, egg, wheat, garlic - have mass amounts of mushrooms, wheat and garlic, just have to buy the eggs - 30 star quality Ramen with simple mushrooms = 5610 focus, not much each dish, but a stack is quickly made (just chopping, rolling, stirring) in about 7,5 minutes per stack (3 ingame hours)

pay attention to server chat in bahari bay after midnight, people are calling out, where the grove is - but when you get there, you need patience, people tend to wait for others to arrive until 2 or 3am.

If you go there, chop every tree ONCE so you get loot, then wait until everyone gets there. Collective chopping begins usually between 2am and 3m in-game time, unless someone is still on their way.
You can also write "omw" (on my way) into the chat so people know to wait for you.

You don't have to stay at the Grove after you do that one hit keep an eye on the chat when you see people that have said they've chopped you can go pick up the wood. I usually go hunt or fish or even mine depending upon what's close. The wood will stay for one game hour

I've literally cut trees solo with people watching just because they try and boss the server around. like get over yourself, it's a multiplayer game that doesn't mean we must share everything! and then you'll get the "cut at x" right before a call out and then an "omw" from someone who is running from kilima gate to statue. if the location has been shared and someone asks after where the grove is, they showed up late and now I'm expected to wait even longer? /rant

I feel like this server makes people feel like they have to go faster but if you progress through the quests, for the most part, the game leads you to almost everything it asks for. Doing whatever skill together always helps. And cooking together uses shared ingredients so it helps with that too, especially if you may not have those ingredients yet. Someone with the recipe or more rare ingredients can cook with you and start it and you get credit for it and everyone gets the cooked item.

You can also cook with someone by Mixing or Stirring if you don't have any ingredients. Maybe the parties aren't set up that way, but it's definitely possible to advance if you have a higher level player to cook with.

Are you also increasing your Focus (Dragon Shrine) and Focus Bonus (Phoenix Shrine) with Renown? Cooking becomes more of a necessity as your Focus increases so it naturally starts to advance along with gifting to Villagers and questing.

I don't think we need it necessarily to be higher, but it unlocks recipes. You can look at Reth's store to see what level you need to be for which recipes which may inspire you to cook more?

I don't know if it affects the relationship better or worse, but Tish always takes Sundrop Lily's and Hyde as gifts (same as Jel). Most villagers take Hyde if you don't have their gift too. Like Hassian takes Arrows or Hyde, Tau takes Meat, etc. Try it out.

I had the recipe but one of the Stations was Red and wouldn't let me start the recipe. That's how I learned I needed a second one.

More stations won't automagically put the recipe there for you. Someone would have to update your profile I'd expect.

When I start a recipe that I don't have ingredients for, it pops up a warning to tell me that. You'll want to make sure you read that and get out of it until you have all the ingredients. I started one before, but had someone to help me and make up for the missing ingredients.

it doesn't always do that though. if you have a requirement to start the food and that same ingredient is used in the recipe later on, it will still let you continue without the pop up even if you only have one of the 2

is it a bug that i found out that i can cut down flow trees by myself?

i was using a fully upgraded axe but if i keep whacking it the tree's health depletes faster than it regenerates

although i don't think i've tested this on large trees

flow trees are designed to regenerate health so that you need multiple people to cut the tree down

i think you still need to hit smaller trees at least twice and flow trees are always harder to cut down because of the regeneration

the smallest ones that's more a bush than a tree are one chop, that's why when the grove at fortress entrance is 2 trees only - other 2 are always the small bushes that people get in one chop

I sometimes hack at a tree a few times, watch how much the health goes down and then carry on with what I'm doing. If it's gonna take more than a couple of minutes to chop down my time is better spent catching bugs or fish

But actually my max focus is still pretty low and a single apple jam fills a little more than half my bar. Its not cost effective by a long shot, but like 70% of my gameplay is apple farming. 20% of my gameplay is blueberry farming. Idk how I ended up on this channel

What's the best way to farm Fiber? Those bushes seem like the best value but there are so few of them.

i personally find it easiest to farm for tree seeds and fiber at the same time! focus on finding the seeds from the large trees, chop bushes you find as you go and you'll end up with fiber!

When this happens to me it’s because I have something active in my hot bar. Once I deactivate it I can move again. I HATE this and have ruined way too many dishes because of this. I also happens during other activities, but cooking is the worst.

it's amusing when people get heated over grove. if they would just request wood and ask in chat they will likely get 20-80 wood, but they would rather complain about not getting 10 wood from the grove

It's hard for some people to request items, a lot of my friends who play have the "If i didn't collect it, i don't want it" mindset, which is good for grinders who love going at their pace solo. This is a very charitable community and a lot of MMO players probably aren't used to others being so willing to 'cater' to other peoples' requests. 🫰

Mixing station, but you need two to make macarons!

To get the cooking stations, you need to level up your cooking skill, and you'll unlock the free recipes to buy from Reth

my first one I joined as an easy role, just a mixer. cakes are step-by-step dependant, so some roles can't do anything until someone else does first. just remember nobody will get mad at you for messing up, going slow, or needing to /unstuck. I will admit it was more fun than I expected, maybe being a factory robot just waiting for my task is my oneness

Maybe just take roles that don't use ingredients (like frosting cakes, or putting things into the oven), or else warning your host so that they can have the ingredient for your role as backup so the dish isn't ruined. It would still only be the one batch affected, so not a huge hardship either way.

foraging xp is slow. trees fill your inventory super quickly. I just keep focus up and pick up foragables like sweet leaf and mushrooms. if I see a rare or epic, always grab those. pick up all the things!
