Ok what's the deal with the Oysters Akwinduu!!!! I have all ingredients and I have 2 ovens why can't I make it still?

Check a few things: Need two ovens, a prep station and a mixing station
There is a visual bug with the "Make" button being greyed out sometimes but you can actually make it.
There is also sometimes a visual bug where the ingredient list gets cut off and you actually might not have everything required. (9 different ingredients, one of them being 5 salt in total)

@narrow swan What usually worked for me before I swapped to an "all-crops" layout was Petit 5's since the majority of the ingredients can be bought for cheap from the shop. You get a ton of sweet leaf just walking around Northern Bahari Bay. Most gardens contain usually at least 1 apple tree and 1-2 blueberry bushes so fruit is also easy to come by for 5's. Quality 5's will give you 600 focus for very little effort.

Sorry, cakes got the big nerf hammer a few patches ago so they're still good money but glow worm farms aren't as profitable as they once were.

There's an intermittent cooking bug on Switch where the recipes are trying to pull 2-5x the correct amount for a recipe. It will make 2-5 copies of the three meals, and give you the proper xp, but.. if yout don't have the amount desired you won't be able to start the process. Looks like reloading the map or relogging into the game fixes it. @regal mauve @hard matrix

On the other hand, there are many PC players that would love to cook cakes with you, if the glitch is active when you get together. 😄 🎂

Non-starred is 176 gold per cake. You get 3 glow worms per cake = 75g per cake. Between 17-19 SpeedyGro fertilizer which averages out to 90 gold per cake. If I'm not mistaken that's a 1-21 gold loss per cake 😦

My rule of thumb is that I usually give players about 2-3 hours igt to get to a resource location I called out then if they're not there by then I assume they either got sidetracked or logged out/dc'ed and then it's fair game.

Of course for FT's that's a little more difficult because you need more than 1 person to chop it unless you do some very sweaty clicking.

I'd recommend being in Bahari around Midnight ingame time since that's when the groves spawn and you get a TON of flow wood that way.

I'd absolutely recommend checking out FT groves then. People are always very friendly/patient at them and willing to tell you where they are.

Other than that just cook what you have at your level and it will go up fast.

And buy new recipes when you can afford them. More options is more better.

Think of it like this ... say you are making a food with 10 ingredients
You only have 5 starred ingredients
So its like a 50% chance to get it starred. (Not fully accurate) .
Even if you have everything starred . The food can be non -starred. Highly unlikely but it can happen. With starred ingredients you are increasing the chance of getting a star quality dish

In the end everyone who adds something to the recipe gets the food, so everyone gets some

You just mix that green goo endlessly and when you are done you just drop it off at the station and you go back to keep mixing...?

Or I guess you need to wait for the cake to finish, loot it, then go back and wait for the cake recipe to start again before mixing again

The "ingredient" inv is shared by everyone making the recipe, so you just mix the green goo, wait for everyone to finish, wait for the person to start recipe, mix the goo, and all over and over til you get the amount you all agreed on

So you dont run anywhere or drop anything anywhere, because the next person who needs it is getting it automatically

And so the person who started initial recipe collects the finished product and everyone gets it in their inv automatically too

So basically, again, in my experience, you stay at one place and do one thing for like 15 minutes or so

I think there may be smaller parties where one person does more stuff, but mostly it is all limited by one person — one station assigned anyway to keep chaos at bay

Umm... usually people are in it for the munny though, they don't really eat the cakes, if you're a leafer, you turn the the 15 gold/leaf into 786 gold (262 x 3 starred) or 525 gold (175 x 3 non starred) set of cakes

1 cake recipe would take around 50 seconds on average, disregarding how much time it took to assemble a party though

Yours is no bug. There a recipes that need two of the same stations. In your case you need one oven as the starter, where the dish is prepared, the second is needed for preparing ingredients for your dish, which you add then to the "starter oven"

You can’t just focus on preparing all of the ingredients because other actions need to be tended to

Just by chance. Every Tree in Palia that is able to be cut down, has a chance to respawn as flow tree. Also at midnight every day, in Bahari can a grove spawn. Different spots are possible.

Farming flowtrees means to cut down every trees in an choosen area to increase the chance of a Fflowtree spawn and also be able to directly give him a hit so you wont miss the loot.

The Dowsing Rod also helped me a lot when I was looking for heat root. It's not ideal, it won't tell you what you're going towards and it only shows things within 200m

I use a dowsing rod and run close to the spawning spots . Once I see one in the map I just pick it and rerurn to kilima . If theres time on the rod and you are lucky, you can pick upto 4 lilys with a rod

If you are on asia pacific , I can show you the route I take which covers every spawn point when I dont have a rod.

So I gave cooking a try to make dishes that give tons of focus. I found the minigames on Nintendo Switch were fun, except for one…flipping the frying pan. Oh god, it felt unforgiving. Not an easy minigame for me and 1 wrong move makes me instantly fail and burns the dish.

You might have missed the stirring at the oven. With the dumplings you have to stirr twice. The first time short after starting the recipe and the second when finishing. It happens to me from time to time that I forget about the first stirring and than I also only get 2 instead of 3

Meanwhile furniture crafting experience is based on the value of the ingredients

so in the title, they will usually have the amount of rounds they want to do. so if they say: X50, you should bring 50 eggs, flour, butter, etc. So on and so forth for all the different number of rounds they might want 😄

I had the same question. After joining few parties, its a role thats like 'temporary' or 'extra'.
Like someone said for cake, you need 4 leafers as one of the ingredients who do sweet leafs(4 main roles). Now, if the host provide enough mixing stations, you can also do a sweat leaf(overprep role). Eventhough the recipe needed just 4 sweat leafs, with 5 sweet leafs one from you, it will still make the cake. And, you will get the cake as well. Thats my understanding.

Yeah since you get 4 seeds I think for the star potatoes you get 120 for the seeds and only 102 for the pickled so not a huge difference

With only starting out gold is scarce at the minute lol, what roles are best for new players? A few players have suggested to farm Sweet Leaf for cake parties and apple pie parties, is this an ideal role for a new player? Any help is much appreciated, thank you 🙂

i feel like it's based on ingredients and how well/fast you complete the mini-games

keeping the rhythm for the chopping sections, for example. the sound the better you hit the marks goes up in pitch. and just because you failed any of the prep doesn't mean that it's an automatic fail of the dish

cake is usually the fan favorite but really only worth it if you split the materials with others because it's a bit of a resource drain alone

If you mean the “couldn’t be completed” or whatever message when doing cooking tasks, try crafting something cheap at a workbench. If it still happens, restart the app.

The issue is the game starts thinking you’re crafting more than you are (e.g. 2 batches, 3 batches) and you get that message when you don’t have enough ingredients for that.

You know it’s going to start happening when you’re cooking and suddenly start getting 6x or 12x per batch.

Think it’s a Switch thing. 99.9% sure the game thinks we’re trying to cook multiple batches at once, and you get that error when you don’t have enough ingredients.

So if sashimi takes 1 rice, and you only have 1 rice, it’s looking for 2 or 4 rice and just gives that generic error message because there isn’t one for trying to cook in multiples (because you aren’t supposed to be able to).

Happens a lot when I’m bulk cooking sashimi for glow worm farms. Nice when you’re getting x12 sashimi per recipe, annoying when you’re trying to only make 1-2 more batches, or try to make something else. Suddenly all your carrots are gone and you’ve got a dozen crab pies.

I have seen people discussing Apple Pie and Crab Pot pie parties in the server chats. They have said that pies may not sell as much as cakes but pie parties are easier to fill and can be done so much quicker than cakes. A few players have said that x100 pie parties with the minimum amount of people needed and no overprep can take around 50 minutes to complete.

I have noticed that the crafters don't always show the full materials needed, it sometimes misses one material from the required materials. Might be best to walk away from the crafting table and open it up again. When I tried to craft an oven, it didn't show clay as needed, when I reopened the crafting table clay did show.

your best bet is making sure you are increasing your focus boost as much as you can and that you keep your focus bar up when you do any foraging activities
