no, fine arrows are the highest dmg arrows in the game rn (dispels do the same dmg) and you need 3 hits of fine arrows to kill an elder sernuk

I have a question that I think I know the answer to but want to confirm...

I want to go hunting for lantern bugs and lunar fairy moths with friends later (and even proudhorned beetles), but from what I understand, you only get the same loot from a singular bug if partied up, not if you both hit it and are not partied up. Is this correct?

I figure there's some experts here that have tested things...at least I hope. 😩

My party is glitched as is probably most other people at this point, which makes me super unmotivated to go plushie hunting bc for some reason I think I have a better chance in a group/party (a party is how I got all my plushies since the last update).

i had the same drop (plushie) as a person I wasn't in a party with, I've also seen other people mention here that they also had the same drop when they both hit the bug. I haven't tested it more than that one time but looks like the drop is the same or at least I haven't seen people saying it isn't.

If you shoot a magic Chappa but it burrows and gets away, is there a trick for finding it again? And does its health regenerate or no?

Once it burrows, it's gone. You have to find another one.

But one good trick for them is to have a dispel arrow ready, slowly approach it, then shoot as soon as it spooks. It will be stunned, allowing you to rapid fire.

Hey y'all! My bf and I are new to the game and we've loves it so far! Our only issue is the hunting lol!! It's my bf's favorite, but he gets frustrated when it seems like he's hit the animal, particularly the deer looking ones and the wolf ones?? Multiple times but it still doesn't seem to affect them and only scares them off. Like, we're just wondering if their hit box is weird?? And we just are aiming at the wrong spot or if one arrow isn't enough to kill them like the little foxes are? Any help is appreciated. We've only just started so maybe our tools aren't good enough yet. Thanks!!

I think typically we aim around the body and sometimes for a headshot, but it scares it off and then it's hard to hit it again haha

Shouldn't have any problems catching them, they can be quick tho . They spawn all over mirror fields.

no, your level doesn't block you from hunting any bug, it just gets a bit easier to catch them when you unlock better belt and bombs but you're absolutely fine to hunt for it

Make sure your focus is full while catching bugs and just ask on the server if someone making a honeylure and you can join. During grove also sometimes people set up a honeylure.

Best thing to use is a buzzy jar and a lure by Auni treehouse. I would suggest you take a friend or two cause more eyes can spot it when it shows up. I suggest using smoke candles so it doesn’t spook the bug when it shows up.

I have found two late nights in game time just walking down the pathway. Patience, buzzy jars and smoke candles are the way to go.

i don't think the location really matters as long as you're in the spawn area, it just seems like sometimes you'll hit the jackpot and other times you'll get nothing. i did two lures recently just northeast of the shrine, one gave a mantis and like 6 duskwings (one starred), the other gave nothing but commons. just gotta keep trying if possible, invite other people and make a party so you can get all drops without having to hit everything yourself

I'm too lazy to sever hop a lot, so I still use the game mechanics like triggerin Respawns by catching spawn-sharing bugs, the only downside is that other players run mindlessly around and possibly scare away the respawned bug you wanted. But as long as I don't actively see that rainbow-tipped despawn in front of my eyes I don't care. ^^

I read about a trick where you have the quality raspberry beetle you get from a quest in your inventory and walk off your plot and then on your plot again and then it counts towards the achievement

For example Blue Butterflys share the same spawn as the Rainbow-Tipped. If you catch them, the chance of a Rainbow-Tippef spawning increases. Gossamer Veil Moth shares the spawn the Kilima Moth and so on. If you're alone on a server you can study those spawns kinda.

honey lures imo you might have to use several to get a duskwing to show up. the only other option would be hanging out at maji's hollow all day and clearing out all the bugs until a duskwing spawns.

Just caught one this morning after days! I was at Pulsewater Plains at 3am and used a buzzy jar. I ran around the area but didn’t have any “butterfly trackers” so I went up to Hideaway and ran around then headed back towards Pulsewater, a few “butterfly trackers” came up. One was the Rainbow Tipped Butterfly, I used a supreme smoke bomb because I wasn’t going to miss it!

This is one of the most annoying bugs ive been trying to catch lol. I havent even seen one, and i have probably caught close to like, over 100 blue butterflies just incase i accidentally missed it

I actually caught one! I just stood in an open field of common butterflies and crickets and didn't move from the field. Just kept catching all the common stuff and popped a buzzy jar to alert me if something important popped in that one field. Took 3 jars of me standing in the same area but it worked !

My usual method is to run around until I startle a blue flying thing at night in Kilima. That’s the gossamer moth. After hopefully catching it, I put the honey lure down where I found it so more spawn.

I had to get 60 of them before I got a star one so I feel like it's one of the bugs I understand. I would teleport to whispering banks, run sort of parallel to the coast and to the teleportation point at leafhopper. if there wasn't any of them showing up teleport to bahar and back to kilima and whispering banks (that makes you change servers so you can check another one for them). And repeat until you find one. if I did that I'd usually find 3-4 a night at least

I'm certain that this plushie business is the worlds most elaborate hoax. What are the drop rates?
The Lantern Bug one is fairly easy because there are hundreds of them to catch every night.
The rest... I've been averaging around 30 Lunar Fairy Moths each night; must have totalled 300+ now.
The Ladybug is only really viable in a party, yet still no plushie after a hundred or so.
And the Proudhorn Beetles are annoying. There's no way they are a 10% spawn when mining. 2% at a push. And half of those melt into the terrain or teleport 5 metres away in a random direction.

In summary: I think it's bugged (excuse the pun)

I solo grinded all my plushies within a few days. To be fair I do have plenty of time to play Palia aaaand I do enjoy the grind with all it's frustration. Only thing I can say to people who don't enjoy it: The plushies are here to stay. Take your time with them and just do other things if it gets too frustrating.

Go early in the morning - like 3-4 am - to the dragon shrine, with a honey lure (or two) and a bunch of sticky smoke bombs (200 or more). If I’m facing the shrine, I usually go to the area on the right on the far side of the path from the water. Nice open space. Capture all the common butterflies and crickets to make room for the dusk wing to spawn. Good hunting!

Yeah it's really frustrating. There's been a lot of issues lately. I've had to restart my game several times today because i completely get frozen out and since I'm on switch I can't just push a button and get unstuck. I've clipped through cliffs today, fallen out of the world, I've had rotation issues when switching between tools, and my game closes a lot.

I know the game is in open beta but...some of these are severely gamebreaking

The elder sernuk is pretty hard to get. The magic sernuk has the best odds but you are harder to kill. Bahari is the best place for both of those. The largest number of regular sernuk are in Kilima. I usually hunt by the river near the exit to Bahari.

For deer plushes start in bahari and get magi/elder there first then go kilima for the normal one cuz bahari also has low amounts of normal sernuk do u really wanna be that guy who farms for normal and then gets another from bahari?

For the raspberry beetle I used the trick where I put the raspberry beetle you receive from Auni (I think) from a quest and walk with it off and onto the plot so that it counts towards the achievement

My first sernuk plushie was the proudhorn. There is a higher drop rate. I was part of a hunting party with a hunters horn. The two bug ones I got after taking part in 5 or 6 honey lures with a bunch of people. I felt the same way about starting in August because my garden output was not what it should have been with the companion planting. It eventually fixed itself. I hope something good happens soon.

my quest list doesnt show i ever done that quest but it was added in 1.165 and the flowers were added in 1.178 so theres a good chance a lot of people never got these flowers.

Is it in kilma and BB? Do you just have to kill the bug or do you have to pick it up and have it in your inventory as well?

There are currently over 9k players just on steam, so i'mma round it up to 10k, cause i know its on other platforms. so assuming there is only 10k players who catch bugs if everybody caugh 2,500 bugs we would reach 25m :3

honestly, best place to do these bug catches are at groves, so long as you have a good server. you usually have to wait for awhile while other players rush to get to the grove, might as well do some bug hunting. and the lure could be a good timer. once the lure is done, chop the trees
