No, not new. Groves will either spawn one epic rarity bug or one magical creature when they appear. So either a fairy mantis/rainbow tipped butterfly/jewelwing dragonfly/ancient amber beetle or a bluebristle muujin/azure chapaa/proudhorn sernuk.

We are not sure yet for the droprates on the bug plusies but from what I've seen in the discord most people seem to get the Proudhorned Beetle Plush after around 30 catches (same for me) I personally got my Lunar Fairy Moth Plush in 60 catches but I've also seen people with 100, and I'm 400+ paper lanterns and 4 honey lures in currently but no plushie yet. It seems to depend on the rarity of the bug same as with the sernuks.

Seriously considering sending feedback to S6 on the Proudhorned Stag Beetle population, or lack thereof. Compounding on the already stressing situation of mining in Kilima, they have nerfed the spawn rate of the stag beetle with releasing the plushie for it. I've been playing since August last year and they have changed the behavior of the stag beetle (and the pink centipede in Bahari). Neither used to go underground or disappear into cliff walls only to reappear meters away right before they despawn (this began several patches ago). I have lost countless dozens of stag beetles since hunting down the plushie with this patch. I've successfully caught 166 so far and still no plushie. I don't think I have bad luck since I have one each of the other 3 bug plushies already (got the lady bug on the first catch). I'm just venting here. I really do enjoy the game & having a blast otherwise with the new builder's stuff! I haven't EVEN tried to start on the muujin plushies, yet. Am frightened of the nightmare that may turn out to be. They do glitch a lot, but if you know how it works you can determine where they are. For example when they spawn they will start walking in a certain direction then glitch away, but they technically teleport. And if you know where they teleport to then you can catch them. And, for me, they always teleport to the nearest cliff edge in the direction they started walking in

Keep your Focus up and either do Honey Lures or concentrate on "rare" bugs like the Azure Hopper (And Glowbugs in the night) in Bahari on Hodari's House side of the map. They give more Exp and have the nice side effect that they also drop Silk Threads, which, worked into silk, give a good amount of money too.

depends on luck a bit but if you don't care what bug and have lures and jars to spare i'd use both to get as much as possible. in general jars are cheaper to make so i use them more. and with some bugs like rainbow butterfly i'd say it's way better to use jar and server hop (so do a quick run around where it spawns, if there isn't any teleport to kilima and back to bahari and repeat).

Was just at a grove with a dd and while I was aiming at it while it was still, everyone spammed it to death so I couldn't even hit it (aiming is bad on switch so moving targets suck). it can attract rare and epic bugs, but it's a total crapshoot how many there will be (or if there will be any at all). the vast majority of spawns will be commons and uncommons so i'm guessing it basically rolls bug spawns with the same probability of rares and epics as in general. imo buzzy jars + server hopping are usually the better option for rares and epics, but honey lures can be better in a party or in specific areas

So I find like…alll of mine on the east side of the shrine. I cross the bridge away from the shrine. I get most of mine from waiting until I see even one, then catching it, then putting down the honey lure where I found it. I’ve had limited success with putting lures down where the spotted mantises show up. Just make sure to catch the common blue butterflies so the duskwings have room to spawn.

No worries! One more tip: If they are a flying blue thing and get startled by you during the day in Kilima, that’s a duskwing. At night, that’s a gossamer veil moth. (Different rules for the flying blue things in Bahari as the lunar moths get startled at night.)

Normally spawn on the cliff above/next to the Pavel mines. Best to get there right at its spawn time. Sometimes you need to cut the trees and take out the bugs near there so it has "room" for the game to roll its spawn. That will increase the chance for it to spawn.

It takes a bit of experience but when they spawn and glitch away they actually teleport to the nearest cliff or hill edge in the direction they are facing. It takes time to understand where they go but once you know you can catch them even when they glitch

i definitely agree with not hunting for the ladybug alone, I finally got it yesterday when I was in a party of 4 And we had another party of 2 join us and that's when we finally all got the plushie

there's also other plushies for example from quests, twitch drops, zeki's machine

Sorry if this has been answered recently but if you hunt with others are you less likely to get a plushie? Does everyone in the group get one? How does that work? Just trying to figure out if I should be hunting in a group or alone

everyone in a party gets the same loot, so everyone will get a plushie from the same loot bag if that makes sense!

group as in party? If you are in a party, everyone get same loot including plushie. You need to within 25m to be eligible to get loot(even if you did not land a hit when hunting, assuming bug catching is same).
Side note, I have someone placed down a Honey Lure and I am not in their party we all get plushie as well. <- If someone can confirm this is true then will be great info since party limit of 4 person is meh.
Definitely up to you, I do recommend party up on Proudhorn stag bettle and ladybug as these 2 are very hard to find solo, 10% chance from foraging according to wiki. So if you have group of people gather/mine 1 by 1 then it will maximize chance of the spawn

the party works for ladybug but not for beetle, since if 1 person mines then the node is already mined and cannot be mined by the other party members.

it does work if you're not in a party, but i'm not sure if everyone gets the plushie that way

I see, then just server sync everyone to same server, then mine it in order, larger group might haev problem on coordinating it, but it helped for sure, I have met random people to wait for me to mine, then they go after me

I just reached level 10 bug hunting last night, how does the guild work? Do you get guild coins after every additional level after 10? It’s my first level 10 so I am clueless.

An update to whether plushie shared if not in party, YES THEY DO!!!
I am with 4 other person in the server mining rocks for plushie. Not in party. All of us get the plushie

you get 10 guild coins every level and if you open the achievements tab there will be weekly quests you can complete to get guild coins

aaah just had my second loot bag that I couldn't pick up today while hunting muij also still 0 plushies so I guess they might have been in those 2 loot bags I'm gonna have to stop hunting them till they fix that bug or I'm gonna get so frustrated

Probably not. The bags you can’t pick up aren’t a guarantee a plushie is in there. It’s a problem we all have

I feel like I just got so lucky 🤣 I usually play on PC, but I own a switch lite, I am currently working and decided to link my switch finally as it's been a slow day, well I head over to Bahari and someone dropped a lure while waiting to chop the Grove, I participate and my 3rd lunar moth I got a plushie! It's like, I had a sixth sense to log in on my switch! Plushie God where on my side today 🤣🤣🤣

I’m thinking the same, I have been hunting for days the normal Muujin and I still didn’t get the plushie. Tones of loot are unpickable and I’m sure they contain the plushie. It’s really frustrating, I think I’ll stop the game until the hotfix is released cause I’m really annoyed by this and all the arrows and energy I’m spending…

Apparently normal loot bags also get bugged, so we might just be having some enormous bad luck from the rng gods.. But yeah I'm also laying off the hunting and hoping we'll get a hotfix for this soon. I'll just go back and play around with the building blocks and try and get some more bug plushies for now to prevent myself from getting frustrated.

Can someone help me I’m trying to catch the duskwing butterfly so I can get the flowers associated with it but I can’t seem to find it at the shrine. There is technically an hour still left to catch it if the time in the bottom right corner is based off of a real time and not in game time.

it's based on in-game time. the duskwing is pretty rare, it can take a long time to find it. some people have had luck with honey lures if you have access to those

yeah, it's uncommon but it's often harder to find than most rare bugs, probably because the spawn area is so small and the bug spawns in that area seem to be weighted towards ground bugs rather than butterflies
