pc does not have full controller support!!! i have to right click to cancel an action like if i have an arrow nocked or a smoke bomb at the ready to fire. i also have to use ZR instead of A when the game randomly decides A is no longer the correct button (can’t plant any seeds with A, but it occasionally decides to not register pressing A while cooking… like, wut?)

15 was my highest amount i caught this last market, which was obscene cos i was chaapa chase champ at lunar

… we also had hot pot to play the entire time it was open so there were way less participants and i know many people have said they feel like the amount of chaapas that spawn are less than the lunar one. idk if i agree but i hated chaapa chase the first time around and i feel like they’re gonna keep including it in every market cos it’s iconic or whatever and yeah. does not work when you can’t spend the ig night flexing the skills you learned from playing mahjong with the aunties and instead have to stare at your shoes waiting for mini games.

it sounds like they were easily obtained this market. i still don’t know what the “market exclusive” thing was in the events section, i took it to mean “this will be at this market and will be available again at a future markets but not necessarily the next one(s)” (since things like delaila’s fruit stand and the tables and chairs from lunar weren’t there), so i ended up with three unstarred reth’s ice cream mochi, as that was the only food on the “market exclusive” list i wasn’t given a sq version of via quests (that existed… i do want that crepe) and i just plum didn’t have the time to play to make enough tickets to try for anything else. so i just went all in on the stuff that was listed as exclusive.

You're fishing in the correct spots. Are you using glow worms? They're "rare" so can take quite a few tries

in my personal experience working in software, it is a complex process involving many voices and decisions that people who work with each other can’t even agree on, etc it’s complicated. but things like layoffs and acquisitions only upset the norm even more. the tl;dr of working in software is there’s a bunch of grand plans you all want to see realized, then you don’t, for any number of reasons. so i try to look at what s6 has been dealing with (having to lay off people they certainly care about as a small studio, then having to adjust to being acquired by a larger studio, which comes with many more complications, and still tryna be a f2p game with such a huge server load…) they deal with a lot! so im a lot more forgiving of things in the game than i would be if, say, a big tech company launched a game and it had as many issues as palia does.

yeah i have lots of glow worms i made a sheet in my notes of where and when and what bait to catch fish i was just stumped on the Hypnotic Moray since different sites gave different answers to the location "cave"

Try to ask on your server or have friends that are cooking anyway. As long as you participate (eg stir) you will get the dish and the points

Pick a role that you want to do and is not taken by anyone else and sign up. There are free roles that take no ingredients: oven and spread. But with oven you need to be careful to take out the cake on time and not burn it

this happened for me a few updates ago, i switched ( ) to PC bc it was literally unplayable on Switch (couldn’t open storage or talk to NPCs without crashing.) ironically, i had to play on Switch for the last maji market, and had zero crashing. so. the best you can try to do is basically do everything very slowly? Switch just doesn’t have the hardware to render like a PC. i spent the entire market looking at my feet unless i was participating in the mini games. i doubt they’ll try to make it any better for Switch, unfortunately. Switch is also a 5 year old console at this point tho, so it’s not unreasonable for them to not optimize for it.

i been using pro controller on PC for months now and this is baffling

game is on switch, does not have full controller support for Switch controller on PC, does have full controller support for consoles it isn’t on?

i wouldn’t have played the game had it not been released on Switch as i do not generally play PC games (or i didn’t, until palia crashing so much on my switch made a PC required to play. irony still exists!) i think it is prob easier to support xbox and ps controllers since they are the most popular controllers used by players for gaming on PC in general? but it’s also kinda like… rude that the game exists on Switch yet doesn’t register my Switch controller inputs on PC, meanwhile it does perfectly fine with a controller from a console it doesn’t exist on.

i’m on steam w pro controller. there is mostly support however there is not for cancel actions during aiming and it often doesn’t accept the use button (A on pro controller.) i can’t plant a seed unless i use ZR (which is the use a tool button, gave me a RSI when i was playing all the time while taking care of my mom as she went through some weird medical issues), cooking actions which accept A to chop will often only respond to ZR instead (i ruined a bunch of food until i happened to find this out.) it’s a liddol wild.

i will admit that i haven’t played with the controller bindings. but even if i did, im wary about how much it’d work. imagine this scenario when executing a recipe:

use A to chop a tomato
use A to chop a porato
use A to chop a pepper

except the pepper doesn’t respond to A. nothing happens when you press A. literally nothing happens. by chance, i found that pressing ZR made it so i can chop the pepper. i can execute the recipe and sometimes the pepper can be chopped with A. sometimes it’s non responsive and i have to use ZR again.

it’s frustrate.
