South bahari coast or flooded fortress are both good for crabs, spineshells are pretty prevalent and good for cooking! If you want vamps you can use a jar to see em pop up on your compass and make it easier to differentiate

Do you have dispel arrows? The easiest way to deal with them is to have dispel arrows, but run up to them and scare them instead of shooting them from afar. When it splits into four is when you shoot they get stunned for a while... easy to shoot when they stand still.

Focus on getting those dispel arrows, and then try the technique I mentioned. Keep your bow drawn and walk up to it so that when it does get scared your bow is already drawn and they are so close to you that it is easy to hit one of the four illusions it splits into. If you get that one shot to hit then you almost certainly can kill it.

To my understanding, dispel arrows stops the magic chapaa from splitting into four, so thus it's still just one target to shoot at... but does it actually stop if you shoot after it splits?

If you shoot with dispel arrow and it hits the chapaa before it splits, it will just start running off on its own.

If you scare it and have it split up first, then when you use a dispel arrow to hit, and you hit the correct chapaa, it becomes stunned. (am I right guys?! lol)

Unfortunately no. The only thing you can do to prevent using certain star quality ingredients is to put them in a lockbox (not a regular chest, but the lockbox chest) in advance if you have space, as it will never pull items from there.

thats a great idea, however, then it says I do not have enough ingredients. ex: I want to use star quality for my veggies that I have grown, but do not want to use star quality for the forageables, as they are harder to acquire. Thanks for clarifying this for me. Just wanted to know if I was missing something somewhere. 🙂

You'd have to put the star qualiity forageables in the lockbox but leave the starred grown veggies in inventory or regular chest. If you set the recipe to "use starred ingredients" and it says you don't have enough of the forageables then you are out of non-starred versions of that forageable.

Generally the way it works is if "use starred" is unchecked, if you're out of regular ones it will never let you use starred. If you check the "use starred" it will prioritize using starred, but if you don't have starred it will fall back to using regular.

It is a really silly system.

Examples time 2: I have use starred checked. Imagine the following scenarios for a recipe requiring 1 spice sprout:

1. I have two spice sprouts with stars, five regular. All of them are in regular chest or inventory. Game will use a starred one.
2. I have no starred spice sprouts, five regular. Game will use regular ones.
3. I have two spice sprouts with stars, five regular. I put all the starred ones in lockbox chest, keep regular ones in regular chest or inventory. Game will use the regular ones (and ignore the ones in lockbox)

if the pile says "inventory full" then its not a recipe - so you server hop. i just hard close the game n relog to spawn in the same spot

As someone who started playing this game a week ago, I'll answer this.

Palia is such a breath a fresh air living up to the sort of Cottagecore motif. Laid back, chill grinds, but overall having the gratification of building your home and learning about the world the devs have made (mainly in regards to the NPCs as the lore of the world seems full, yet shallow. at least what i can tell at the moment).

Similar to a daily grind as Stardew Valley, yet you are no longer tied to an energy system limiting what you can do in a day. Instead, focus which can be replenished by eating in which focus is essentially your pool of experience that is given to your skills (Fishing, Cooking, Gardening, Mining, Hunting, Bug Catching, Foraging, and Furniture Making) upon completing an action attributed to said skill (ex. kill a deer, grab loot, along with look it converts focus into xp)

If you're looking for a game with danger, Palia isn't your game as there is no form of combay like Stardew. It's a game built on the foundation of living a simple life in a new world to you
