Both of those require an additional device or external service. BPM keyboard simply has a reticle bound to each thumbstick (or stick analog), and the triggers select the character the respective reticle is hovering over

There's a not huge benefit or anything in who you choose as shepps. You might get special dialogues (or mail) from your shepp, and as you learn about the charas, you might learn who the different villagers' shepps are, e.g. Its kinda like a family you "choose" (not romantically so to speak, but your shepp can be romanced, depending on the chara). There is an item you get once you have a shepp, but its appearnce is determined by your own chara's personality traits

Yes, getting it from friendship is one of the fastest ways! I've also called out for beginners to request apples if I get 12 unstarred apples from my tree, but now my tree has stopped producing nonstarred apples

all of the guild store items for every guild are locked behind various skill levels - anything from level 2 to 20. and the hunting store even has fireworks locked behind Tau's friendship levels. since they have all sorts of different items behind skill levels, it should be easy enough to do it for any other item.

Not sure what size trees you're chopping down either but from what I just read, I'd recommend sticking to medium to large size of the orange-yellow trees. Also assuming this is your first attempt at getting a juniper for the first time but if not, would recommend making a request. Hope that helps!
