If you place it and it disappears (it does this with some other friendship items too) you can pick up the room it's in and store it, which removes all items in there and pops it back into your inventory. Tickets work too. You can pick up the table you placed it on and move it elsewhere if possible

You know when my son got those I would heat salt in a bowl in the microwave. Pour it into a clean cotton sock and have him lay on the side with the infected ear with the sock beneath his ear. It would help drain the ear, and relieve the pain. Just don’t heat the salt in the sock because the sock will melt, and if the sock is too hot put a towel between it and your ear.
