You need star ingredients to increase the quality of food. Falling at chopping or stirring, I don't think it affects the food. At least I noticed a lot of times it doesn't affect it.
Also having all ingredients in star quality can also give you non star food. It still has some RNG to it.

Id say it depends on your play style and what videogames you like how fast you run out of content. Make sure you visit the phoenix shrine and dragons shrine even after the quest sends you. You can increase you focus bar and its % to make lvl faster. Also don't forget to eat and keep that focus bar up.

Everyone will have their own way but I personally start my day with my farm so that it will grow while I do other things. I head to town to buy from the shop and talk to villagers, then go out for resources and head back to town afterwards (hopefully with a few gifts for villagers). Then I head home to sort my resources and put anything I don't keep in the shipping bin. Then it's back to see if the farm has progressed.
