I've gotten into the habit of tapping any flow trees I manage to spawn so that if someone else comes by as I'm deforesting to get more spawning, I still have the ability to get the stuff. But it can be a bit frustrating to work an area only to have others take stuff down

I think that you can only complete the quest once -- as far as I can tell there's no repeatable quests other than the weekly quests for skills above level 10.

It won't automatically put a pin on your compass. But if you right-click an NPC or place a marker on your map, it will show on your compass.

To expand on what Dullahan just said, a few quests also will put a yellow circular overlay on your map to show an area to look through - but not necessarily an exact location. Some quests won't show any location at all, even when pinned.

Unfortunately, there are a few villager gifts that are bugged - but not all of them are. This has been reported. There's no workaround or active fix right now, but you can skip the ones that don't work for ones that do.

you get together in a 15 man raid and make cakes

basically a group of 2 to 20 players get together at 1 house. each player does 1 thing to complete the cooking process. when its done. each person who did something to contribute to the cooking of the food item will get the finished food. This is a good way to save on ingredients and everyone benefits. can make cakes or any recipe you have. and not everone needs the recipe just need to be ab le to do a step in the process or add just 1 ingredient.

Yep. It's like it has a very large hitbox and you can't click anything else that falls in that hitbox. I just move it alllll the way out of the way, shift everything else around, then put the garden back.

Characters can often make recommendations of what other characters' weekly wants are - the friendship points when you give the item to the character will be with that character, not with the one who told you what to give.

"Better" is negotiable in this case, because it depends on what your goal is. If you're looking for moneymaking value, I don't have the answer because I haven't run the numbers on whether you make more from cakes or from glow worms (I don't minmax that much) -- but I know there are people who swear by both methods.

If you're looking for a ton of glow worms so you can go fishing up that sushi recipe (or a fish or whatever), cakes are pretty good for worm generation normally.

Trees are difficult because they never do seem to go symmetrical/even, no matter what you try. Most of the other stuff is easier to place (note, I do mean "most", there are some other tricky items here or there), but trees are just hard.

I honestly just chalk it up to "tree grows how tree wants to grow" and work around it - but I tried initially to use trees to border the exterior of my plot and after planting 4-5 of them went "nope, that's not gonna do it".

It's just that one soup, yes -- that one is bugged. However, try giving her random items; every character has some items that they will happily accept even if they aren't on the weekly wants list, and they'll take one per RL day.

The phoenix and large dragon plushes can't be "won", but they can be purchased from Kenyatta's cash register at the Chapaa booth. The phoenix is 18,000 gold, I believe (unless that's changed since I got it) and the large Maji dragon is 60,000.

The small Maji dragon and the various chapaa plushies are acquired with chapaa chase tickets. There is a box on the opposite side of Kenyatta from her cash register; that's the chapaa chase prizes.

Earlier this evening, people were stressing out about fishing the sushi recipe. So I picked up a few dari cloves from Ashura and had people come over to make a couple batches of sushi. Someone also needed fish stew, I told 'em to come over and we made some fish stew, too.

No need to spend hours doing repetitive things, definitely was fun, spent some time chatting, the first arrival saw a kitsuu for the first time and went "wtf is THAT" before it vanished, it was great.

So like, the issues I've run into this last week are kind of ridiculous.
First, my heavy metal chapaa trophy just disappears into oblivion.
Then grass grows through my garden plots. Then it didn't.
But then a constant rustling noise can glitch its way into my walk cycle for no reason. Then I literally can't have a windmill because the audio gets compressed and echos in on itself and turns into a droning hum.
Then I build my house the way I want to, and parts of the outer roof are clipping through some rooms. Then it turns out that there's a bunch of lag on my plot, and so now I don't have a fence.

Also side note? Can you not do the whole "hurr durr" thing? It's ableist.

I had the most wonderful cake party yesterday. Saw people chatting about ingredients, asked if they happened to be one short, got invited. Ran out to buy 100 of each ingredient, only to find out it was a small operation to introduce a new player to the concept of cooperative cooking. Ended up casually baking 30 or so cakes together hopping between stations, did some stuffed peppers and steak dinner on the side. Then went on a bug hunt together, caught a rainbow butterfly and a fairy mantis. Deforested the lighthouse, and ended up in a group chat together with an international band of misfits. It was awesome.

On the economical side of things, I think the cake parties are a good thing. That level of income means there's a lot of room to buff other sources of income. Let's face it, they can't nerf cake parties into oblivion without causing outrage. So there's room, economically speaking, for more farm plots and whatnot.

What matters is what the devs think about cake parties, and whether it meets the goals of the game. They've already said it's in discussion; I'm sure they're considering all angles of it.

When you craft items, it pulls the resources out of your storage. Your lockbox protects the items inside from being used in crafting.

Palia is a standalone game. No in-betweens like STEAM.

The scams make me feel confused because the fun of the game, at least for me, is going out to collect materials and stuff. Say they follow through on their half of the deal, if you just get a ton of gold, what are you gonna do with it? Buy a ton of furniture, finish your house, and then dip because you have no need to continue doing tasks that can earn you gold? Sit and twiddle your thumbs until the character you wanna befriend is ready to talk again? idk, it just takes away so much of the core gameplay loop

It allows me to calculate crop outcomes and test if I misplant stuff, since you can't remove a crop in palia yet...

I start off with the dont look it up, but eventually I weaken, a couple of the clues in the main line quest really had me stumped.
On the whole I do it the hard way, lots of running around and remembering what I have seen.
I do feel this game needs to document your finds, e.g. so you can easily lookup inline where that fish comes from, of course only if you have found it first.

If you go into your accomplishments, (provided it isn't bugged) any previous caught fish you can mouse over in the catch all fish accomplishment and it tells you in the item description when and where to catch them. And I have looked up if a quest is bugged 😉
