Ye ig
D5 for my uses
i don't have z8 money
Thousands of dollars more expensive lmao 💀
if i had z8 money i wouldn't be asking about buying anything less lmao
Yeah but like with trade in and refurbished it’s not like terrible
you wont get much value out of a d700 or d800
i've given good thought to trade in but i just don't want to be down to 1
nor a 7500 i've thrashed
^^
i probably won't even try to sell that, i've put almost 125k through it lmao
its still kickin but thats pushing it
ye
my local shop told me they wouldn't even take it 😎
😭
i'll go haggle again in the future but still
i'd get what, 200 bucks in trade in for it?
if that
dont needa drop thousands on the latest and greatest yk
also whew mpb

good steal that
who tf shot it 7 times and said I'ma sell it 😭
not very smart people, thats who
also you say that but i'm actively looking at a former flagship which was damn near the best camera when it came out
that aint the latest though :)))
i love old flagships
much cheaper these days and they still perform like the flagship
D4S BABY
just finished all 3 games from oracle
B O K E H
bruh I was denoising at like 1:30am last night and fell asleep 😭
theres still a ton of pro action photographers that keep a d5 or 1dx mark iii in their bag
some guy next to me had an r6 or r5 type of body couldnt tell, a 5d type of body, a 1dx mark iii, and something else
bro had the jack of all trades
dude had the 400mm on the monopod and like a thing for the 70-200 on the side of it, hella cool
yeah honestly i've also considered the d4s as well but i need a touch more cropping freedom than 16mp provides
yeah 😂
it can be a bitch
If i wasn't shooting planes and needed a ton of cropping then I'd get one
HELLLP
local man asks for help, refuses to elaborate
Ok ok ok
I need to know what the prize on a d750
Was when it in stores
The prize of the camera new
@glad juniper
stores still sell the d750 new so you can just search it up
its really not that hard
thats market price, not msrp tho
cause it was near flagship perf for prosumers
ah
like b&h has them "new" for 1700 bucks
but thats what the market price is for a low use/NIB copy
crazy price on amazon
Maus
Im selling it and some other things
U think u can find a fair prize?
If I send pic of all the gear in dm ro smt
whats the shutter count
Like 16k i think
body only you could probably list it for anywhere between 500 and 650
throw in a lens and you might be able to get 700
It's a pack whit lens ans stuf
which lens
sell em seperately, the lens is probably more likely to sell sooner than the body
and nobody wants to buy a body with a lens they don't want
I kinda need the money
yeah then sell them seperately and get the most out of it
Ok
if you really want to sell both, list them seperately on ebay and together on like, fbmp or something
and just have the price lower on fb
Im selling on norwegian website
like 550 for body and lens on fb vs 500 and 200 on ebay
Sells wey fast
somethin like that
You can we dm?
i mean we can but i'm in the us so selling on norwegian craigslist isn't exactly my wheelhouse lol
Answer
you can do more than say hello you do know that right
Buy d780 atp
I did recc the 780 dw
I was thinking about buying the z50 II until I realised how cheap the older z50 is used on mpb. However the battery life too shit for most things. do I just forget about mirrorless and go for something like a d7500 or d750 or just get the z50
they're all pretty much the same price lol
I'll get like a 24-70 or whatever with it
Fair enough, would it still be worth saving a buck to get some lenses or do I just go for it
50ii autofocus does look amazing tho
@misty steeple you ever shoot with the 300 /4D?
darn
there's one locally for a good ish price, plus i can trade in some gear to get it lower
idk if i should persue that or not tho
its not a bad idea i dont think
list price is 399 and i'd be trading in a lumix zs80, which is 5-600 bucks used to begin with
and if they give me just half of that then its a hundred dollar lens
which makes it a lot more interesting
Added the first gen z6 just to try mirrorless tech
Still planning on grabbing smth bigger though
prob
z6 will be a nice little affordable test run
i've also since gone back on my word, i'm gonna get a D5, maybe a 6 if i find one for less than 2k and save for an 8
(the upgrade is a grad present, hence the spending not my money part lol)
figured i'd be better off getting something i could feel comfortable shooting and knowing its doing what i want vs getting a z5ii and not knowing what its doing or how its doing a thing
plus lens compatability won out lmao
mm
D5 is good, wouldn't rec a D6 unless you're going full pro
not worth the price
why 😭
Did you buy or rent it
buy
gonna use it as my second ff
it'll be useful fs, will prolly sell in a year or two
Hm interesting
the key words are "less than 2k"
with the 6 being offically discontinued the used prices are slowly dropping
i've been seeing a few for 2300
if they get below 2 i'd seriously consider it, there's just enough of an upgrade to the af between the 5 and 6 that i wouldn't be opposed to 400 extra dollars for that much a better camera
i mean like that "most advanced" autofocus isnt worth the price different, unless you really need the wifi capabilities
i dunno

that could def be true
Which would be a better waste of money
The pf is smaller and cheaper, the 2.8 is a stop faster and has marginally faster afaik
I'm trading in some stuff so presumably either one would be a significant amount off, hopefully 5-600 bucks but idk yet cause they haven't gotten back to me
They would also basically live on a 1.4x tc so there's that to be taken into account too ig
No
The 18-50 and similar lenses are designed for apsc
Best you can get for that range would be the EF 20-55
ok
@misty steeple thoughts on this? I'm seriously considering both and iirc you've got the 2.8
The pf
Even the non vr 300 2.8s are better in IQ than the pf but I don’t see a reason to buy that lens unless you’re shooting low light sports or want to stack teleconverters although that one has a limited amount of teleconverters it can use
Also never buy one for 1.5k lol
My vr1 cost that much
The af-s version 1 and 2 are optically excellent but not worth the same price as the vr 1
That pf seems expensive too…
Mint or not
What r u shooting with it
The af-s ii cant use any good 1.4s
Eventually a D5 but in the meantime d800/7500
Sorry I meant like what subjects
Planes, wildlife, maybe sports
Hopefully rally cross in a few years
Planes and wildlife you’ll need a tc and the decent ones aren’t compatible with the d ii
Tc 14ii and iii
For a 1.4
For those prices have u considered the 200-400
Buuuuuut I could throw it on my F5 for the funnies
Yeah i have, idk if the zoom range is worth my money tho
I've also considered the 80-400
But 100% look for a lower price
Oh no it'll be a lower price, I'm trying to trade in a few hunge worth of gear
200-500 is a better purchase
Hopefully 5-600 bucks worth of trade in
ah ok
They had a minty d5 i was gonna buy but they sold it a few days ago
I want muh mega pickles tho
😭
Z9 looks so goood bro
Testing the z6 as my main for smth reminded me why I love vertical grips
I need smth mirrorless with a grip 🙏
And not an obnoxiously big one
Wait wb z7ii? @glad juniper
Megapixelsss
Fps is weird tho
For the price of a 7ii I'm getting an 850 lol
But I don't need that many mp
The 36 out of the d800 is borderline too much
But 16mp vs 21mp is enough of a difference for me to justify getting more
Plus for the same price as the 7ii and 850 I could get a d5 that would do exactly what I need it to without being too slow or losing lens compatibility
i keep forgetting ab the d850
Lol yeah
I mean they've got a 6ii for sale for 1179 which ig is also an option?
Not that i really want to jump to z just yet tho
i will say, it is quite cheap
Throwing it all out and starting over, they've got a 200-500 and i want it
Its between that and the pf tbh, I'd use both equally as much
Well ive got mirrorless now
bro bought it
Yeah I was tired of waiting for my offer
what happened to ew fujifilm
A lot
But it basically boils down to nikon z doesn't have a good compact nor does canon plus rf limitedglass, m43 is worse, sony is overpriced and compacts are too shit for what I want
And ive been wanting to get an x pro for ages but they're still too expensive to justify
So a first gen xt and a manual lens to start seemed reasonable enough
Limited use, expensive, fragile
Also i can start collecting xf lenses for when I inevitably buy an xpro
fun
@glad juniper r u still interested in 300 2.8's?
Vaguely, yeag
There's a 300 pf locally for 450 and im trying to decide if thats worth my money or if I should just save that 450 towards a d5
ah ok
might sell my 300 2.8 late july cause planning on getting a 400 2.8 for football and it'll make the 300 useless
lmk if ur interested
Odds are i won't but ill keep it in mind, 1200 bucks or so for a 300 2.8 would be most of the way towards a d5 which would be the more pressing upgrade
But we'll see
👍
has anyone used OM-SYSTEM yet?
@steel ruin does
Eh
Never said you enjoyed it
Enjoyed what
Good yes but imo something like the z50ii is a better entry level camera at that price point
Or if you want canon, just spend a bit more and get an R8
Better performance than the r10
would that lens work with the z50ii?
its 1k more tho wouldnt getting an adapter be a lot more affordable? Or would there be a big diff in quality
the adapter would be another 200 bucks
you'd need a different adapter to use the sigma on canon too
Also tamron 150-500 is on Z so there is a second option for native telezooms
is it worth getting the R6
or should i just got for the mkii
if i decided to upgrade
hmms
Or just get like, a z6iii or z5ii and leave canon in the dust
that means your gonna get the rf 75-300 then right
wait whaaat
i didnt know that
based
oh wow the tamron 150-500 is 1.6k cad
a lot cheaper than i expected
could be a good one for my set
yeagh i wont
im proly gonna get the ftz on my bday
the shop i bought the 5ii from had an ftz ii used with the box for only 190
cad
then ig i can find the a tamron 500 or 600
or just nikon
im not getting sigma cuz of the zoom ring thing
it feels really odd in my hands
@glad juniper would it be acceptable to travel with my camera body like this in a camera bag
Having hellva time getting everything into my bag
I unfortunately don’t have a body cap
Other alternative very tight and kinda sketch
Fuck it we ball
Honestly yeah thats probably fine
No lens hood for the 100-400 but it fits
If you want you could also wrap it in like, a lens cloth or something
Oooo didn’t think of that
Just to cover the mirror
I think I got it to fit fine vertically
Just no water bottle will fit in the sleeve

This bag weighs so much lmao
Shoulda not sold the 70-300
First world problems huh
Yeah
Rip owala with all my airplane stickers to let all the European spotters know I’m way better than them because I have dc-10
Who
Peak snoopy sticker
Trying to acquire more but 10tanker won’t come back
Also need the other one as mine was robbed from me
😋
@glad juniper instead of buying a z9 i'm changing pace and bringing in a d5 and the 400 2.8g

sticking with the retired legends
z9 a lil pricy
lmk how that goes, i'm hoping to follow in your footsteps by years end
D5 footsteps, not 400 2.8 footsteps lol
ight i'll lyk after a couple football games
i'm excited ngl, the z9 is awesome and my dream camera rn but the d5 i've been looking at for hella long

Crazy deal from mpb
Just slightly cosmetically worn, 260k shutter count, just over a thousand

You kicking yourself over the refurb sale yet lol
🔥
we r all set for 25-26 sports 🙏
How tf do you keep the vf focus squares lit up continually on the 6D
Panning at night without them is actually so annoying
And I can’t find anything in any of the settings
And everything I can find says it can be done
Hiya what does everyone think of the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM? Any good, it’s NZ$700 used (in good condition) at the moment and I might get it
Solid lens, decent price
Tho if you are just looking for zoom i'd be curious to see how the ef 100-400 ii is priced compared to that
I’m upgrading from a 75-300 f4-5.6 iii
I need a fixed aperture tho, it’s f4-5.6
And it’s NZ$860 at the moment for a decent second hand one
Tho I’ve got to get used to a whole different way for buying cameras here, I no longer have mpb as I don’t like in Europe anymore… MPB was a lifesaver hahah
do you really need a fixed aperture tho, you'll be stopping down for sharpness anyways
Eh, it’s one of those things I’m a bit picky on
And the 70-200 is also lighter which means I’m not lugging a huge bag with me
How about the tamron 70-200 g2?
If your gonna get a 70-200 might as well get the 2.8
Might have a look, needs to be for canon EF lenses, and around NZ$700
Because one of the options is potentially to get some of my family who live in Europe to buy it used from MPB and I’ll collect it when I come back around July
@misty steeple its no d5 but its a start

Have you shot the afs 300?
Yea the sigma lens is over $1500
If I had the money I’d get it tho
@random prism do you have any glass i could have in exchange for a nikon film body
I have a dorkus bingus now
what do you lot think about mft these days they seem unbelievably good value for how capable they are
Managed to pick up a lumix g9 for about AUD$675
Theyre really capable but the sensor size definitely limits serious work
Yeah they're a great bit of kit, best for something to just carry around if you're on a walk or so. Great photos but low light is just, mid.
@glad juniper found some more negs of the Karmir 160 that the dev studio never scanned for some reason, still have some weird shit happening
on another note those are literally the best chocolates ive ever tasted
some stuff happening in here as well
but then some are totally fine
i mean they look like tell tale light leaks
then i get some shit like this
How should i go about editing this photo?
It’s on my computer screen just took a picture of the RAW file, was back in Scotland for a bit seeing family and also planspotting a bit before my flight back to nz
Not sure bro, the photo of the photo is blurry
