#

💀 I have 35$ to my name atm

#

I'm getting a job asap after I'm back from Taiwan

#

Then I'm gonna buy camera stuff and go broke again

#

What a beautiful cycle

glad juniper
#

i just spent 300 bucks on these two lenses lol

#

twas birfday money but still

random prism
#

My birthday right before Taiwan

#

So maybe I get a new slr body

#

That or a camera bag that isn't tiny

#

I want one that can hold a laptop though....ofc my laptop is 17in

#

I knew the 14in would've been better

#

Maybe I'll buy a new laptop 💀

glad juniper
#

oooo you gonna buy a nikon?

random prism
#

No

#

💀

#

Maybe a 90D from this guy here

glad juniper
#

90D would be acceptable

random prism
#

Me when Nikon

random prism
#

He shoots with an R5 and 500prime lol

#

He just bought a R7 to try out 💀

#

I've probably said this before

glad juniper
#

if he'd sell without the 70-200 it'd be alright

random prism
#

Lmao it's the good one the 2.8

glad juniper
#

600 bucks for a 90D isn't that bad of a deal

random prism
#

💀

#

It's new

#

I don't think he's really used it

#

He has a 6DM2 for sale too but I don't really want that

glad juniper
#

so if it is new thats the 70-200 for what, 200 bucks?

#

thats a screaming deal on the 7-2

random prism
#

Ik that's why I'm pissed

glad juniper
#

i'm probably gonna trade in a buncha shit towards a new camera after i get back from oregon

#

This mf

random prism
#

Get canon

#

I dare you

glad juniper
#

i have one

random prism
#

SLR canon

#

Or even mirrorless

glad juniper
#

my canon is "mirrorless"

random prism
#

Fair

#

I guess

glad juniper
#

also canon film prices are cringe and bad and poo

#

tho i do actually kinda want a canon 7

#

it looks very nice

#

and LTM

random prism
#

Idk what film stock to shoot next

glad juniper
#

depends, what are you after

random prism
#

Pictures idk

glad juniper
#

at the very least color or bw

random prism
#

Color

#

Since I've got bw now

glad juniper
random prism
glad juniper
#

so print then

#

uhhhh lets see

#

ektar 100 for fine grain

#

"fuji" 400 for price

#

kodak um400 is always a good choice

#

colorplus 200 is also a good choice

#

slide would be fun tho tbh

#

you'd have to be really careful with your metering

random prism
#

I'm just gonna go on instagram and search "film trends" then contribute to the absolute skyhigh prices and trend

glad juniper
#

no thats cringe

#

don't forget portra

#

or sinstill if you want to contribute to that evil

glad juniper
random prism
#

It's expensive tho

glad juniper
#

film soup is dumb

random prism
#

Thought it'd be fun to mess around with but idk what id shoot that'd fit the style

#

I did a google

#

Ik what print and slide is now

#

Sounds tricky

glad juniper
#

yeah it is

#

best colors tho

random prism
#

Maybe after a few more rolls of print

#

Since I've only done 1

teal basalt
#

Anything that is considered "versatile", has a relatively good focal range for considerably cheap (used)

#

I've got the 50mm prime and the 18-105 in mind

solid fable
#

Shits lowkey getting too small

glad juniper
#

The 18-105 would probably be my goto

teal basalt
#

Alr

#

Thanks for the help

#

Only £2 extra so will go for that

random prism
glad juniper
random prism
#

Well the bag

#

Is the Canon EOS 2000D + 18-55mm f/ 3.6-5.6 III + 75-300mm f/ 4-5.6 III good for plane spotting?

glad juniper
#

#1023755067079282789 message

#

The 2000D is fine

#

It's cheap for a reason but it's fine

tribal jacinth
#

Is the 300mm lens good to zoom in at the cockpit?

glad juniper
#

Depends on where you are

tribal jacinth
#

EHAM probably like 200 meters away from the plane when taking off

glad juniper
#

What's your definition of "zoomed in"

tribal jacinth
#

Probably like your profile picture

glad juniper
#

Idk probably

tribal jacinth
#

Ok

random prism
#

75-300 is not amazing tho

#

So expect CA and softness

glad juniper
#

Just set your expectations really low lmao

random prism
#

@glad juniper how good is the Nikon 70-300 AF?

#

@subtle pulsar has/is getting one

subtle pulsar
random prism
#

ok

#

if maus wakes up he should know

#

hes the resident nikon guy

subtle pulsar
glad juniper
#

There's 7 different versions

#

The first 3 won't work on the D3X00 and 5X00 cameras

#

And a few other D70,80,90s

random prism
#

@subtle pulsar

#

He has D3500

glad juniper
#

The af-s one is pretty good

#

The af-p is the new standard for the 7-3

#

People have had issues with the dx lenses and sharpness but I've only really seen it on reddit so do with that what you will

#

I'd recommend the FX versions of either the afs or afp lenses since whenever you upgrade to z or fx you'll be able to use it

subtle pulsar
#

Second to last i think, whats your thoughts?

glad juniper
#

If you can I'd spring for the fx not the dx but that's only cause you can use it on the next question

subtle pulsar
random prism
#

ngl sony makes a great camera

#

its just not very intuitive

glad juniper
#

Yeah they don't have great CS either

random prism
#

CS?

glad juniper
#

Customer support

random prism

oh

echo sigil
#

Do any of yall have on of those hot shoe mounts for your phone? Like the one mfs be using for reels

glad juniper
#

I had one

#

Used it maybe three times

#

Gave it to a buddy klaudia

#

I mean they aren't bad, but I just wear a lot of shirts with breast pockets so I just throw my phone in there and call it a day

random prism
#

i thought about buying one

#

but my camera sucks for video

#

and it doesnt work with hat

solid fable
#

I prefer putting it on my lens mount rather than the hot shoe

random prism
#

i saw a very fancy one that was on a cable that you could bend in place...it costed 35$

echo sigil
#

First airshow in 2 weeks wanna get some portrait vids

solid fable
#

I had to mess around with it and it doesn’t work too well but I can try and find one online that may work

solid fable
#

Also what lens are you using

Barrie, Ontario, its a small one but if it means seeing the CF-18, snowbirds, a P-51 and a sea fury for free then its defent

solid fable

I don’t recall the 75-300 having a lens foot so I’ll look for a phone one for hotshoe

echo sigil
solid fable
#

Ah nice

#
#

Both great companies, smallrig is probably the highest quality one you can get

#

This is the one I got, absolute piece of shit 😂

glad juniper
#

it was uh

#

well it was fine

#

it was too tight for my phone with the case on so it was a real pita to use

solid fable
#

Ah yeah

#

Rip

#

That’s the problem with a lot of them

glad juniper
#

yeah

solid fable
#

Smallrig is a pretty good company so I hope that they would think of that lol

#

Oh yeah it easily can, it extends to 3.26 inches

glad juniper
#

it looks pretty deep so i'd assume it won't be that big of an issue

glad juniper
solid fable
#

Ah I had issues with both lol

glad juniper
#

there's really no good solution since the video quality won't be great regardless

#

you'd probably be better off bringing a sibling and making them hold your phone

solid fable
#

Lmao at some airshows my mom did that for me 💀

glad juniper
#

i've had my sister do it before

glad juniper
#

Galaxy A51

#

tried with a few different cases, didn't matter

#

always had to take the case off to film

teal basalt
#

I just use a cheap phone mount from temu 🤑

#

It does the job for £4

random prism
#

And they probably made 10£ off your information 💀

teal basalt
#

Oh well

#

£4 is £4

random prism
#

Fair

teal basalt
#

Should I be trusting mpb as I just bought from them, only to see people complaining

glad juniper
#

Yes

#

mpb is good

#

Don't sell to them but they are good

teal basalt
#

Ok

#

And if I have to return any products is it a somewhat simple process?

glad juniper
#

Yep

teal basalt
#

Good to hear

tribal jacinth
#

What are the best camera settings for plane spotting?

solid fable
#

There really isn’t a universal set of settings that are best for spotting

random prism
#

Shits tempting but most likely stolen

#

Mpb will pay 750$ for all my gear

random prism
#

460$

#

Portland sooooo

#

Wouldn't really be able to spot with it tho

glad juniper
#

Maybe 1/1000 @ iso 200 ig

#

Depends on the light

teal basalt
glad juniper
#

Mmmm 7100

teal basalt
#

bought it for the old lens compatibility

#

though I still bought a af-s 👍🏼

random prism
#

@glad juniper I can't figure out what lens this is

#

Guy is saying it's a 10-18 but it's not that

#

I think it's 135

random prism
#

For 600$

#

Is that

#

A good deal

random prism
#

I need a cheaper but sturdy bag

glad juniper
random prism
#

It's not that one

#

It's the newer one

#

Same style as my 70-300

random prism
glad juniper
#

Offer like, 500 maybe then

random prism
#

Yeah that's what I can get out of my 550d and 16-35

glad juniper
#

Be careful with selling your camera before you buy a new one

#

Cause you know damn well interesting shit will come in and you'll be stuck with phone pics

random prism
#

Yeah that's why I don't wanna do it

#

And I don't wanna go see it then it be legit then I have to spend 2 weeks selling my gear

#

Then it sells

glad juniper
#

take a parent loan out

random prism
#

💀 my parents are talking a bank loan out

#

Idk for what

#

But it's all they're talking about

#

Dearest Mouse,
What are good short range (under ~ 80mm) lenses for Nikon?
Sincerely,
Ginervra

glad juniper
#

But that's dx only

#

There's the 17-55 2.8 as well

#

Also dx

#

The fun vintage lenses are fx but they all start at 35mm so 50

spare fractal
#

DX only?

#

As in D[number] camera body?

glad juniper
teal basalt
#

D3xxx,D5xxx and d7xxx are all aps-c Nikon dslrs

The d750, d810 etc are all 35mm FF

glad juniper
#

yes thats been established

random prism
#

Mouse crylmao

ionic orbit
#

Lul

teal basalt
glad juniper
#

What about it

glad juniper
#

I'll give you the long and short of it I guess. It's super 8, which is roughly ¼ the size of 35mm. It's Kodak kodachrome, which is no longer able to be developed in color, and can only be developed in bw processes. It's daylight speed, so it would have been roughly iso 400, meaning if you wanted to properly expose it you would need to shoot it at iso 12 or thereabouts, assuming you follow the 1 to 10 rule. If in fact the film was closer to iso 400 when it was fresh, you would need to shoot the film at iso 6, just cover your bases. This, of course, is in accordance with the 1/10 rule as well. It's a small roll so you'd probably be able to get maybe 180 seconds of footage. This is video only film, you would need Kodak K40 sound tape if you wished to include authentic audio.

#

It's a good collectable

#

But that's it

#

(The 1/10 rule basically states for every decade the film is expired, compensate by shooting the film 1 whole stop faster. This means you would halve the iso of the film in order to obtain a correct exposure)

random prism
#

I figured out it's Respooled aerocolor

#

I think they do something to it tho

teal basalt
#

yes but it expired in 73

#

older than my uncle

glad juniper
random prism
#

true

teal basalt
#

any of you got some Nikon lens recommendations?

#

for birding/spotting

glad juniper
#

depends

#

how many kidneys do you want to sell

teal basalt
#

Under 500£ used

#

Mpb, cex, I dont mind

glad juniper
#

ok so i'm gonna add another 0 to that

#

pair this with the TC-14E III teleconvter and you should be set

#

you can still get the 600 /4 feel while also being able to go back to a 400 2.8

teal basalt
#

why need a camera bag when you get a briefcase with your lens?

#

but yeah is there any telephotos fit for that budget that'll work well

glad juniper
#

for under 500 ehhhhh kinda?

#

sigma 100-400, tamron 100-400 are decent ish options

#

400 isn't enough for birds tho

#

and ofc there's the old 150-500 options but those are soft and old

solid fable
#

Could maybe get a used 150-600 for 600 maybe 650

glad juniper
#

maybe the first gen tamron 15-6 for 5 but that lens is shit soooo

#

you'd probably be better off not doing that

solid fable
#

Lmao Fr

tribal jacinth
#

Would you guys recommend a lens hood for plane spotting?

spare fractal
#

Not if there’s a fence

#

If there’s no fence or anything than it can be helpful

tribal jacinth
#

There’s no fence so would my pictures be better?

glad juniper
#

Only if your shooting towards the sun really

#

But it's also a nice little bit of extra protection if you try and smack the fuck out of the front element

#

And it might do harm if your hood heats up weird

#

It'd introduce heat haze directly to the front element even if the ambient is cool

spare fractal
#

I hear it can help with CA

#

Idk if that’s true or not

glad juniper
#

It's not

spare fractal
#

Yeah I was skeptical about that when I read it

#

(My source was ChatGPT so it was probably made tf up)

tribal jacinth
#

It can’t make your photos worse right?

tribal jacinth
solid fable
#

You may as well get a lens hood, depending on the lens they’re relatively cheap and it’s arguably better to have one than to not

tribal jacinth
#

Ok thanks

spare fractal
random prism
#

The only time I wouldn't use a lens hood is if I got out of a hot car into a cold environment or vise versa

#

But you just have to leave the hood in that environment so it can reach the same temperature

glad juniper
#

eh not even then tbh

random prism
#

I keep it on cuz I alr know imma smack the shit out of it on something

glad juniper
#

thats honestly the biggest reason to own and regularly use one

solid fable
#

Same lmao

random prism
#

Also it makes me look like I know what I'm doing 💀

I remember @glad juniper mentioning it a while ago

I won't recommend

How come?

glad juniper

I liked mine

#

Hell, I still use mine sometimes lil

glad juniper

The af-s is better by a long shot but also the G is like, pennies

teal basalt
#

lovely

#

I just need a cheapy lens to spot some planes

teal basalt
#

Before I go, do you know if this is better in terms of performance for the price?

glad juniper

not sure

#

its better than the sigma one thats for sure

can't say the same for canon

It's either cheap asf in taiwan

i was wrong\

glad juniper

i got a 16 and it fits just fine

i have a shit ton of PDX images

#

Coulson c130

#

and aeroflite RJ images

#

what do i post

glad juniper
#

yes

random prism
#

that helps a lot

glad juniper
#

anyways should i get a sidegrade fullframe cam for native f glass stuff before i get z or should i just wait and shoot ff on film

random prism
#

just wait

glad juniper
#

yeah but it'd be funny to get one now

#

even tho whatever i'd get would be a true sidegrade from the D7500

teal basalt
#

7500 is still great

glad juniper
#

oh don't get me wrong, the 7500 still swings well above its weight

#

but i'd like a true 12mm experience without having to only shoot on film

#

so a cheap FX body would be an idea that i've had

#

ala D3 or D700

teal basalt
#

Try the d600/d610 if you can

glad juniper
#

And I'd rather not deal with that

teal basalt
#

The D850 is a good budget choice

#

If it's in your budget

glad juniper

How

teal basalt

uhh

#

press the flash button

glad juniper
#

basically your flash should fire at the speed of your shutter

#

usually no higher than 1/125 but ymmv

#

some cameras have flash sync up to 1/8000, others are stuck at 1/60

random prism
#

idk i dont shoot portrait so

#

no need

glad juniper
#

so you'll be fine

#

i've got 3 and i don't do portraits lmao

random prism
#

i wonder if its worth anything

#

eh ill just keep it

glad juniper
#

yeah you should keep it

#

just in case you ever need one

teal basalt
#

should I get this one?

#

I can't really tell if it has any imperfections

glad juniper
#

can you drive the af?

teal basalt
#

got a d7100 so should work

#

or should I go with something like the af-s, af-p, tamron etc

random prism
#

This new bag is

#

Uhh

#

Smaller than anticipated

#

It does fit everything tho

glad juniper
#

Not fittin much else in there are you lol

random prism
#

No not at all

#

Also got my polarizer

glad juniper
#

What's the "vintage" lens in there

random prism
#

There's a 24-70?

glad juniper
#

No the other one?

random prism
#

Oh that's my Oly

glad juniper
#

Oh that's what that is lmao

random prism
glad juniper
#

Makes sense now

random prism
#

I'm gonna buy film in Taiwan

#

There's a lomography store like a block away

glad juniper
#

Lmao

#

You not taking any stock over there?

random prism
#

I don't have any

#

And the cam store closed weekend

#

This polarizer doesn't work as well as I was hoping

glad juniper
#

CPLs just kinda suck unless you spend a lot on a nice one lol

random prism
#

It's a K&F one

#

About 59$

#

It works well on dark things like countertop and tv

glad juniper
#

Yeah that's normal

#

And it'll cut reflections in "bright" conditions

random prism
#

It's not really working with these reflections

#

Don't judge our disaster of a yard

glad juniper
#

Oh no it doesn't work on interior reflections

#

At least none of the ones I've used do

#

Your best bet is going outside and shooting a car windshield

random prism
#

Ooh

glad juniper
#

Or just car windows in general

#

Bright reflections are what cpls tend to excel at

random prism
#

Works there

#

Was hoping for some window reflection mitigation in airports

glad juniper
#

Ah yeah no that doesn't work

#

I've tried many many times

random prism
#

Oh well

#

It helps a little

glad juniper
#

Your best bet is always covering the glare with your hand

random prism
#

Lens hood moment

glad juniper
#

That gets close up it's not always perfect

#

Your hand can be used as a seal and it works marginally better

random prism
#

Until there's a massive weird ac unit between you in the window that you can't stand on that's 3ft wide

#

ICN moment

teal basalt

It's a good spot I'm telling you

glad juniper

teal basalt

I need help using my camera

Especially the exposure settings

#

#

I'll find an example

glad juniper
#

you got a raw or uh

teal basalt
#

yeah

#

I'll get it to you soon

teal basalt
#

I just can't get the exposure right

teal basalt
#

What do you think?

glad juniper
glad juniper
#

not sure why you were maxing out the shutter

#

unless you shot it in "manual" and fucked up the exposure

teal basalt
#

Maybe

#

What should I use instead?

glad juniper
#

aperture priority

#

that'll also solve your sharpness "issues"

#

i threw it into C1 and yes it was shot in manual mode

#

which would explain why the shutter is throttled

#

i mean you could use it but it doesn't look all that uh

#

good

random prism
glad juniper
#

oh and i put the tub of frosting away

#

so yeah

#

suck my butt

random prism

💀

glad juniper

Nikon FM

#

And leica

#

Uh

#

Thing

#

And the sony is a a7iii

#

Not r

teal basalt
#

where's the sony

spare fractal
glad juniper
random prism
#

I guess I own a Nikon now

#

And potentially a leica

#

My grandpa has a M6 but that's his prized possession

glad juniper
#

throw in those lenses and you'd be looking at probably close to 4-500

#

looks like a 105 macro, 50 1.4 and uhhh

#

idk what that last one is

#

i'd much rather the nikon tho lmao

random prism
#

Macro is right and 50

glad juniper
#

the C2 is shockingly bad for a leica

random prism
#

Yeah

glad juniper
#

also lmao do you actually use a google phone

random prism
#

It doesn't look that fun to use

random prism
glad juniper
#

kinda cringe ngl

random prism
#

How tf you figure that out

glad juniper
#

i've got my ways

random prism
random prism
glad juniper
#

discord displays the whole file name when you open it in browser

glad juniper
random prism
#

Lmao

#

I just hit the shutter

#

It's my grandma's I think

glad juniper
#

really the only thing you can control is flash on or off and how much you zoom lmao

#

its not bad as a pns

#

but i'd much rather the nikon just based on idk, usablility lmao

random prism
#

Yeah

#

I literally don't have space in my camera bag tho

#

The backpack strap alr ripped open

#

For 70$

#

Wtf

glad juniper
#

lmao what

glad juniper
random prism
#

No

#

You want me to shoot Nikon

#

Now I kinda do

#

I'm yet to shoot with it

glad juniper
#

I've got room in my bag just saying klaudia

random prism
#

I'll find a way

#

I need to buy more film tho

#

But I also don't want to

glad juniper
#

what was the other lens btw

random prism
#

It's gonna cost a billion dollars to develop

random prism
#

I can't remember

#

I look

glad juniper
#

maybe a 135?

random prism
#

I think

#

An

#

80

#

Idk I can't find the key to the humidity control box

glad juniper
#

oooo an 85?

#

thats good

random prism
#

Maybe a 120?

#

Idk if it was a prime

glad juniper
#

it doesn't look like a zoom

#

actually which lens are you talking about lol

random prism
#

Idk when I turned the barrel it extended

glad juniper
#

yeah thats called the focus

random prism
glad juniper
#

this one?

random prism
#

Yeah

#

Well I don't have a zoom lens on film so idk how it work

#

All the lenses have protective filters on them

glad juniper
#

well yeah

#

it doesn't look like any of the ais zooms

#

and that bit here looks like a focal range

#

but it doesn't look like any zoom lens i've seen or can find

#

and the important part is covered by the 50 1.4 lol

random prism
#

Oops

#

Idk I'll find out when I find the key

glad juniper
#

lol

random prism
#

@glad juniper 105

glad juniper
#

another one?

random prism
#

Also going to buy film and develop hopefully

random prism
#

Idk what's on the body

glad juniper
#

yeah the 50 1.4 is the short one

random prism
#

Yeah

#

What's on there is a "micro"

glad juniper
#

thats

#

weird

#

like all the ais zooms from that time period are "macro"

#

which doesn't mean anything

random prism
#

Weird

glad juniper
#

not really

#

it just moved the lens "further" away from the image plane

#

which is how macro tubes work

#

they aren't very good and don't work very well

#

but it could do "macro" in a pinch if you needed it to

random prism
glad juniper
#

lmao

random prism
#

No clue why

spare fractal
#

How am I meant to get rid of these vignettes

glad juniper
#

either weird masking in post, fall off correction (though idk if lr has that) or just suck less

spare fractal
#

I don't use Lr regaurdless

#

and I can't just cut the plane out and erase the sky and paste it on a good sky image because that gets me a JPG compression reject

#

whatever I give up

teal basalt
#

should I buy the sigma 150-500?

#

The sharpness looks mad with birding and planes

glad juniper
#

weeeehoo

random prism
#

Okay

#

No frosting

#

Just your visa

glad juniper
#

ofc not

#

i've reformed

floral stone
#

💀

glad juniper
#

its pre prime actually

#

which is still tacky and goobery as hell but eh

random prism
#

@glad juniper I found a lomography store

#

Is there stuff good?

#

Some of ts looks wild

#

This could be cool for night stuff?

#

In the big city

glad juniper
#

lomos fine

#

they tend to do a lot of expiremental stocks

random prism
#

Yeah I can tell

#

It's the closest film store to me

glad juniper
#

if youre gonna get any lomo get the 400 or 800 stock

random prism
#

Idk

#

I wanna find a Fuji store

#

But there's none

glad juniper
#

can you find a yodobashi or something

random prism
#

Those only exist in Japan

#

I was wondering why the Sony was taking so long to write 💀

glad juniper
#

i run one in my D7500 all the time lol

random prism
#

Also

#

Do you have a lens adapter recommend

#

For EF-E

#

Canon lens to Sony body

glad juniper
#

fuckin uhhh

#

any of them?

#

metabones and 7artisians are probably your best bet

#

the K&F one is also nice

random prism
#

What's the price range for those?

#

2-3 hundred?

glad juniper
#

around there, yeah

#

if you don't want af then 75 bucks gets you "mount to mount"

#

if that

#

but i'm sure you want to keep your af and aperture controls

#

i think viltrox makes one for 199 lol

#

so if you really want to save that dollar

random prism
kind bobcatBOT
#
aviatorkaden has been warned

Reason: Bad word usage

random prism
#

Ok

#

I'm still unsure about the shutter kaboomy

glad juniper
#

see if you can get the shutter count checked

random prism
#

Ok

glad juniper
#

the lower the shutter count the "more" likely it is

#

but also you may get lucky and it won't pop

#

people reported between 10 and 50k

random prism
#

879...??

glad juniper
#

lmao thats it?

random prism
#

That can't be right

#

He bought it used

glad juniper
#

its brand new, shot three times and lives in a box?

random prism
glad juniper
#

did you use the most recent photo?

random prism
#

Yeah

#

It's a jpeg

glad juniper
#

thats weird

#

the site supports it

#

or its actually that fucking low kekw

#

which honestly

#

asian grandparents and used shit almost always ends up like this

random prism
#

Weird

#

So low is good?

glad juniper
#

generally speaking yes, but as far as the splodie shutter is concerned low just means it hasn't had time to manifest itself

random prism
#

Oh oh

glad juniper
#

i mean honestly since its that low you'd get at least 10k out of it

#

i don't think you should jump ship to sony per say, but it'd be nice for portraits or video or whatever

random prism
#

Yeah

#

But

#

If I take the Sony

#

My canon goes to my aunt

glad juniper
#

hmm

random prism
#

If I stay with canon the Sony goes to aunt

glad juniper
#

that makes this tougher

random prism
#

Yea

glad juniper
#

i mean you do already have a lot of canon glass

#

and sony would basically necessitate a jump to e

#

and you'd be less worried about the shutter issues with canon

random prism
#

Yeah or the adapter

glad juniper
#

you'd be losing optical performance tho

random prism
#

Plus I'm not exactly a huge fan of Sony control

glad juniper
#

yeah sony ergo sucks massive butt

#

but what you could do is play with the sony till you leave

#

just cause its there and you can

#

get some nice high res files of shit

random prism
#

That's what I'm doing

#

But I can't spot with it

#

24-105

glad juniper
#

i thought the tpe decks were doable at sub 150

#

and here

random prism
#

FF I wouldn't go below 200

#

Especially for the south deck

#

300 for narrow bodies was pushing it

glad juniper
#

this seems fine

#

just move a bit over either direction and wait till they're right on top of you

#

something like this

#

that wouldn't be all bad

random prism
#

South deck

glad juniper
#

well shoot shit on the taxi way then lol

random prism
#

I did

#

But heat haze

glad juniper
#

fair

random prism
#

I've just been doing street with that sony

glad juniper
#

good idea

random prism
#

Canon is good enough for spotting

#

I have no complaints

glad juniper
#

except for the fact that its a canon you mean

random prism
#

Shhh

#

I own a Nikon now

#

I don't wanna hear it

glad juniper
#

And the weirdest selection of glass lmao

random prism
#

Yeah I'm not too sure what that's about

teal basalt
#

should I go buy the sigma 150-500 or the sigma 100-400?

random prism
#

105mm F2.8

#

And

#

105mm F2.5

solid fable

glad juniper
random prism

It says on the cap part

#

I think

Idk I'll find somewhere

Knowing taiwanese 7/11 they probably have it

glad juniper

lmao yeah probably

teal basalt

Why ask then

teal basalt

Apart from that, I have a problem with my photos

They don't seem to really be sharp anymore

Send screenshots, can’t open the raws

They have a blurry tinge to them, which is what I'm worried about. D7100 & 18-140mm

#

Please also take notice that discord ruins the quality a bit

glad juniper
#

dude your shooting wide open again

#

but for all intents and purposes, thats sharp

you need to lower your standards for a kit lens lmao

random prism
teal basalt

#

Something like that I'll have to go check again

#

ISO 125, F7.1, 1/30

#

My super wobbly hands might be the issue lol

random prism
#

I think

random prism
#

My lens does the same

echo sigil
#

Ermm chat any suggestions for SD Cards?

#

Looking to get 3

#

On the fence between 64gb and 128gb ones

#

Also are the SanDisk Extreme Proz worth it

teal basalt
#

I use a 128g SanDisk ultra and it works like a treat

#

However if you're looking for faster then it'll probably be best to get an extreme

random prism
#

128gb 200mb/s works well for me in the 6D

crude dust
#

Been owning a EOS600D from canon for a good decade, do I upgrade, or just look for some new lenses?

random prism
#

I use a 6D from 2012, only a year younger and it still works great

glad juniper
#

plus considering canons lens options, you'd be much better off getting a new lens first

#

all of their body options are about the same lol

random prism
#

@glad juniper I uhh did a buy

#

The tarion bag did a die

#

And I uhh have a lowepro now

glad juniper
#

Lmao

teal basalt
#

my Amazon basics bag cries in low quality materials

#

Ill probably buy a bigger bag soon

#

any of you guys got a tripod recommendation by any chance

random prism
#

Hehehe I have the same one

teal basalt
#

@glad juniper opinions?

glad juniper
#

I don't have any on that lol

#

I skipped the 70-200 train and got an 80-200

teal basalt
#

is the 80-200 better?

#

or should I forget it and get the af-p 70-300 E

glad juniper
teal basalt
#

Fair enough

#

So, maus, in the case I want to go spotting, should I buy this 70-200 or go for the FX af-p 70-300E for 180?

#

I'll be spotting in places like Heathrow and Stansted

glad juniper
#

70-300 ez

#

Yous aren't losing anything on the wide end and you'll get more reach on the long end

teal basalt
#

Thanks

I've heard good things about the sharpness so it looks like the perfect option

teal basalt
#

Is it pretty much the same as the dx but just with the vr switch?

#

I could save 30 bucks if I go with the dx but my camera can't change the VR settings

glad juniper

i'd get the fx on the off chance you upgrade to a fx body before z

I did come across a brand-new used lowepro flipside bp 300 aw iii

That I did buy

I also aquired some very neich film called vetrokam 400

Which is not for me

glad juniper

Spare rolls maam

random prism

I bought one

It was expensive

I have spare gold 200 and like 32 shots left of Fuji 200

Not the Respooled gold shit

I don't think

glad juniper
#

Does it say superia on the box

random prism
#

Yes I think

#

Maybe

#

I'm to lazy to go check

glad juniper

Lmao

random prism

Dev shop here sent me like 1080p scans

#

Gonna cost a fortune to rescan

glad juniper
#

Just home scan it

random prism

Because I know how to do that 👍

glad juniper

You literally take a photo of the negative with a backlight and invert it in lr

#

Then correct wb and adjust as you see fit

random prism
#

Oh

#

Sounds easy enough

#

I think we even have white plexiglass somewhere

glad juniper
random prism

Well I have one

The 24-70 is macro

glad juniper

whats the mfd

Uhhj

Idk

Idk you could probably get away with macro maybe

#

Idk how well it'd hold up for film

Idk either

We will experiment

shall i get canon eos 1300d?

i wanna start planespotting and need a good beginner camera on a budget

honestly an ancient CCD DSLR and a sigma 120-300 isn't a bad rig if you're broke
or alternatively something like a 55-300, that's a reasonably sharp lens paired with a D200 or something

#

a friend of mine ran the D200 + sigma rig for a while

#

the lens is as sharp as a cotton ball and above ISO 800 you're going to want to rely pretty heavily on AI denoise but it's better than any rebel Tx or 4 digit canon body

Id recommend an older canon and the 75-300
