I personally preferred the old recoil but I think reverting back will have a negative effect on the game overall at this point.

Most people, like myself, that hated the change already lost the love for the game and/or moved on to other games so you aren't gonna get a lot of those people back. Just get rid of the crouch meta (minimal difference in standing vs crouching recoil with an increase in recoil while strafing) and maybe tweak the bloom on a couple guns so most of the people who like new recoil remain happy and the rest who stopped playing can at least come back and have a little fun every now and then.

Reverting back is just gonna piss off all the new players while only getting you a fraction of the players you lost.

Your point is valid I can’t really argue much but my suggestion would be to add a setting to choose between the two, someone else brought that idea up in a different thread. There’s zero down sides to that everyone would be happy and everyone would have the recoil they would prefer to play on.

Like a per-player setting or a per-server setting?

Per player, all though official servers with that setting would be interesting to see but I think that would be a lot of work for them to maintain.

Yeah I think per-server would also lead to a lot of dead servers on one end or the other. A per-player setting definitely wouldn't be a bad idea though
