I’m always losing fights because I’m getting suppressed attacked and can’t put the barricade down in the right direction

The hurt flash when taking damage setting does not work I have it on and nothing happens when I am shot, it worked when it was first added but hasn’t in a long time but now I think of it and tested it. It doesn’t work
It can work and only works sometimes I’m not sure as to why it does
