Consider purchasing a cheap external SSD that will have a much higher write speed then the internal HDD of the Xbox One/One S to improve load times etc.

honestly idk as I never lagged on my old gen xbox but tbf I kept it dusted and cleaned on the daily

in terms of xbox if you have disc games I recommend the series x if you do get a new gen console although systems regardless of model will run better if taken care of
