early on development we were told that d11 is under contract to support old gen for some unknown time. Tbh 2 years in it's probably expired but even if it has they just won't split up the servers for multiple reasons

The console version of the game was specifically made for old gen and not to support new gen so the only reason why console mode updates are dlow is because they need to make seperate graphics and textures for the new gen and old gen. Because the old gen had the same graphics because the game was specifically made for old gens such as PS4 and XBOX one they used to get bigger updates more often but because of new gen. They have to take the time to sharpen the new gens graphics and textures up again while making new textures for both platforms and fitting / testing so both console types are as smooth as possible. See if the old and new was split it would mean the updates would be alot slower for new gen instead of old gen because of all the stuff that has to be recreated and reinputted into the game to perfectly suit new gen consoles! Alwhile old gen would speed up and continue getting updates faster so if they split the two old gen would be like PC and new gen would be like old gen.
