Major bug building priv

I built base 2 stories high , when trying to go up i get "too close to monument" on anything above second floor. Can't build, can't place anything above 2nd floor. Wasted a ton of resources and hours please fix if this is a bug , ty

I thought this too but why would it let me start the build and do 2 full floors? I've never experienced the issue before but now I know I need to make sure you can build a whole tower before picking a build spot

Like if you're too close to monuments i get it hut it shouldn't let you start building only to find out a week later you can't go up , in my opinion I mean

i’m experiencing the same thing on my server, built up 3 or 4 floors and now half my base is building blocked, only peaks on one side of the base

please make monuments building block, infinity Height and depth

Yep , the guy above thinks its normal but this also happened to my neighbor, only after his 4th floor where mine was anything above 2nd floor

Ya same , I legit spent an entire day transferring loot after a raid, got my first two floors done on new base and was just beside myself when I couldn't build higher lol , I'm praying this is a new issue and I think it is because I've been building close to monuments before and this seems weird

dude, I haven’t been raided yet but i built double door frames to support the shooting floor….but when i go to build i can’t even build the floor….. so now i have a shit ton extra upkeep for absolutely no reason

and it’s weird how it’s like a bubble i can’t place barricades on my garehouse which is 2 floors below where i can’t build on the base

Omg that is rough ... I legit stood there with a kit on and build supplies for like half hour while my team just went about their days while I cried (solo village) lol, eventually I got smacked by a Tommy kid and he took it all lol I just knew it wasn't gonna work for my build so I committed to rebuilding it but the mats and time I wasted 😅

Then my neighbor saw what I meant the next day when he couldn't put any windmills on his 4th story roof lol

Yep, same with the barricades its not just that I can't buokd above second floor, I couldn't even place barricades there

Hmmmmmmm…. Interesting. Are some walls being blocked or all walls?

First build was blocking anything above my second floor roof, meaning I couldn't expand above 2nd floor, or even place metal barricade on second floor roof

The next day, my ally had the same issue next door in same area , only it was anything above his 4th floor

But its blocking virtually anything above those heights , not just one side closest to monuments, the whole perimeter of roof is blocked

I can make an inquiry about it but may take some time. Is all those spawn areas impacted or only where the single bag is?

That would be wonderful and I have nothing but patience for the game I love most ! Appreciate it big time . It seems to be affecting the whole area by the bag where the water is shallow

Hold on i misspoke, the single bag area is my new base and I'm not having the issue , the problem base was closer to the top 2

No build zone is a Sphere around the monument. If you can't go up, it means you are literally at the border of a monument. Bc the area is a sphere, even if you can build at bottom level, you can't go as you will start going into no build zone

Ok, so it seems like we just need to do a better job making sure we can expand when getting anywhere near a monument , on our end! I just wanted to let you guys know as I play rust a ton and felt I'd been much closer to monuments before and never had the no expansion issue before this wipe. Thanks for taking time to reply and more importantly , being a part of THE BEST VIDEO GAME EVER MADE !!

This is like on PC. My wild guess was that a sphere lets someone build a shitshack close to the monument but doesn't let em expand into camping tower to kill everyone who comes over.
Also the center is different for each monument, so even if you think you are far, you can still be close, or the other way around. Don't look for the closest monument item, try to draw a circle around the center of the monument

The sphere is quite big but differs on the placemnt of your base vs the monuemnt

if the monument is on a mountain and u are under it, on abeach, the area may seem close, but it's gonna stop you from going up at some point

if you are above the monuemnt with base, you gonna reach the maximum range faster
